Education is going through discussions that involves the traditional teaching model, the new technologies of the contemporary world and the generations that use them. In this process questions arise about the new ways of teaching, new formats for classrooms, new spaces for education, the new role of the school, the teacher and the student. The objective of this study was to evaluate the perception of generation Y students about the use of new technologies in learning environments in a Higher Education Institution. A descriptive, qualitativequantitative research was made with 255 students. It was revealed that 86% of the students use internet to study, work and in their free time. According to the use of the discipline name LAI -"Integrated Learning Lab"35% of the students considered positive the learning outcome, 34% confirm that the use of the platform contributed to the study and learning of the subject studied and 27% confirm that the platform collaborated to increase the study time. Considering the problems reported to the process of platform deployment, it is concluded that the strategy is valid to improve the learning and to extend the study time, according to the students of the generation Y.
