Using the analytical framework of the socio-economic, political and cultural development, based on the Political Economy of Communication, this paper describes, discusses and identifies tendencies of the Brazilian market besides presenting the efforts that newspaper companies are doing in order to find a new business plan that allows the survival and sustainability of journalism on the print platform. Based on empirical data is also looking to establish connections and analogies which justify what is happening with the Brazilian journalism in the print platform because both popular papers and the free newspapers are growing across the country.
