ABSTRACT Objectives: to elaborate an ICNP® terminological subset for people with diabetic foot ulcers in Primary Health Care. Methods: this is a methodological study that followed five steps: 1) Identification of relevant terms for the patients through an integrative literature review and official documents in the area; 2) Mapping of terms identified with ICNP® terms; 3) Construction of statements of nursing diagnoses, outcomes and interventions; 4) Structuring of a terminological subset with the Self-Care Deficit Theory; and 5) Content validity of statements constructed with nurses from a programmatic area in Rio de Janeiro. Results: the subset developed is composed of 81 diagnoses/outcomes and 583 nursing interventions, organized into universal, change and development requirements. Conclusions: the subset on screen was predominantly composed of statements inserted in self-care requirements related to health changes, reinforcing the importance of quality of life and recovery.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to analyze undergraduate nursing course coordinators’ perception about nursing training in palliative care. Methods: a descriptive study, with a qualitative approach and thematic content analysis, carried out with coordinators of nursing courses in Higher Education Institutions in Rio Grande do Norte. Results: three thematic categories emerged: Nursing training in palliative care; Potentialities for teaching palliative care; and Challenges of teaching in palliative care. The coordinators described as potentialities: transversality, theoretical and practical approach, optional subject, university extensions, interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinary approach, and as challenges: biomedical model in health education and insufficient professor training. Final Considerations: palliative care teaching in the researched institutions in the nursing education process is approached in an incipient and fragmented way, and almost always without having a specific curricular component on the subject, being present as one of its contents.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to assess the psychometric properties of the Latino Students Patient Safety Questionnaire, Brazilian version. Methods: a methodological study, carried out between April 2020 and January 2021, with 218 nursing and medicine students. Structural and discriminant construct validity were assessed by confirmatory factor analysis and cross factor loadings. Reliability was verified by McDonald’s omega, average variance extracted, composite reliability, and item-total correlation. Results: the final model reproduced the original structure of 21 items, distributed in five dimensions, requiring the exclusion of one item. Acceptable fit indexes were obtained (x2/gl=2.325; CFI=0.99; TLI=0.98; RMSEA=0.054). Discriminant validity was confirmed. Reliability indicators were adequate, except McDonald’s omega, in one factor (0.68), and average variance extracted, in two factors (0.41; 0.47). Conclusions: the instrument demonstrated evidence of internal validity and satisfactory reliability among nursing and medical students.

ABSTRACT Objective: To identify the relationships between the statements of nursing diagnoses for children with kidney diseases prepared according to the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP®) with the diagnoses of NANDA International (NANDA-I). Methods: Methodological study operationalized by the steps: 1) Survey of clinical findings through interviews and physical examination with children; 2) Elaboration of nursing diagnoses through Gordon’s clinical judgment; 3) Cross-mapping of diagnostic statements between the NANDA-I and ICNP® classification systems; 4) Content validation using the Delphi technique, in two rounds, with specialist nurses. Results: 90 children participated. A total of 151 diagnoses were made, of which 66.3% (n=100) used ICNP® terminology and 33.7% (n=51) used NANDA-I; 55 diagnoses showed equivalence of meanings. Conclusions: Cross-mapping of diagnoses was achieved starting from the reality of children, using clinical reasoning and validation by specialist nurses.

ABSTRACT Objective: To understand the repercussions of COVID-19 on women’s daily lives in a rural settlement. Methods: A qualitative study was conducted in a rural settlement of the Landless Workers’ Movement (MST) in a municipality in Northeastern Brazil between January and March 2021. Forty-eight women participated through semi-structured interviews. The data collected were analyzed by the Collective Subject Discourse method in light of the referential of pandemic processes. Results: The grouping of the speeches unveiled similar and/or complementary meanings about the coping strategies and the feelings generated due to the pandemic. Four Central Ideas were organized: denial to progressive awareness; Perception of the problem, acceptance, and explanation of reality; Negotiation; and Retrospection/reflection. Conclusion: The pandemic repercussions are intrinsically related to an inhospitable reality from the perspective of the experience of women daily forgotten, marginalized, and suppressed.

ABSTRACT Objective: To construct and validate a specialized nursing terminology for the care of newborns with peripherally inserted central venous catheters (PICC), based on the Betty Neuman Systems Model. Methods: Methodological study, carried out in a public maternity hospital, operationalized by the steps: extraction of terms from medical records of neonates using PICC; normalization; cross-mapping with the 2019/2020 version of ICNP®; organization in the Seven Axes; and content validation with nurses using content validity index and kappa coefficient. Results: 1,718 terms were extracted, and 372 relevant terms were normalized, with 265 constants and 107 non-constants. A total of 335 terms were validated, 246 of which were constant and 89 were not constant, which reached an agreement index and kappa ≥ 0.80. Conclusion: Relevant terms were identified, which aid newborns using central venous catheters; thus, a terminological subset will be contributed to information in nursing practice.

ABSTRACT Objective: To describe the production and validation of short film type educational technology for the prevention of diabetic foot ulcers. Methods: A methodological study focused on the validation of a short film. The construction of the film was carried out in three stages: pre-production, production, and post-production. Thirty-seven evaluators undertook the internal validation, divided into two groups of 31 proficient nurses and six from the communication area. Fifteen people with diabetes mellitus performed the external validation. Result: The nursing proficient validated the script with a total content validity index of 0.95, with internal reliability of 0.849 conferred by Cronbach’s Alpha. Communication specialists validated with a content validity index of 0.97; and target audience with 0.95 (clarity) and 0.97 (relevance). Conclusion: The study showed that the short film is a valid and reliable educational technology to promote foot care to people with diabetes mellitus.

ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze political and pedagogical projects of nursing residency to the elderly from Paulo Freire’s perspective. Method: a descriptive, exploratory study, qualitative approach using documentary analysis. Data source was pedagogical political projects of nursing residency programs in the health of the elderly. The data were collected between March and May 2017. Data analysis was based on Bardin’s Thematic Analysis. It had as analytical categories specific dimensions of the proposed theoretical framework. Results: twelve pedagogical political projects showed that learning dimensions appear in an incipient, fragmented way, demonstrating the reproduction of banking education, disregarding the importance of bringing the student as a subject of learning. Conclusion: there is a gap in pedagogical political projects from Paulo Freire’s perspective. It is necessary that regulatory institutions can systematize and encourage so that pedagogical projects of these programs are based on Paulo Freire’s epistemological bases, enabling the so desired holistic training.

ABSTRACT Objective: to identify evidence of scientific production on hospital transition care provided to the elderly. Method: an integrative review, with publications search in the MEDLINE, PubMed, LILACS, BDENF, Index Psychology and SciELO databases, with keywords and Mesh terms: elderly, hospitalization, patient discharge, health of the elderly, and transitional care, between 2013 and 2017 in English, Portuguese and Spanish. The 14 selected articles analysis was carried out through exploratory and critical reading of titles, abstracts and results of the researches. Results: transitional care can prevent re-hospitalizations as they enable rehabilitation, promotion and cure of illnesses in the elderly. Final considerations: transitional care implies the improvement of the quality of life of the elderly person, requiring skilled health professionals who involve the family through accessible communication.

ABSTRACT Objective: to understand the life experiences that favor transcendence of the elderly being. Method: a qualitative phenomenological hermeneutic study, in two groups of elderly coexistence. The selection of participants was by intentional sampling: 11 elderly, achieving theoretical saturation. Data collection was carried out through a phenomenological interview with a detonating question. Ethical principles of the General Health Law in health research were fulfilled. Analysis with Heideggerian hermeneutic circle was performed. Results: unity of meaning on the consciousness of a higher power for transcendence is highlighted, where spirituality and religiosity are resources of the elderly for strength, feel protected, overcome difficult situations and reach fullness; both favor the understanding of their historicity by manifesting enlightenment. Final considerations: transcendence of the elderly being is favored with spirituality and the experiences of their daily life are imbued with a spiritual and religious relationship that give meaning to their existence.

ABSTRACT Objective: Analyze the meaning of being an elderly person living in a long-term institution. Method: Qualitative study based on Martin Heidegger’s thought. Twelve phenomenological interviews were conducted with people aged over 60 years living in a long-term institution for the elderly in the city of Itabuna, Bahia, Brazil. Results: The units of meaning identified were: experience of progressive loss of autonomy and independence, perception of living in an institution as an inevitable circumstance; and being-with becoming being-alone/being-lonely. After the identification of ontic aspects and hermeneutical understanding, the unit of meaning was constructed: meaning of being an elderly person living in a long-term institution. Final considerations: The ontological needs referring to being an elderly person remain forgotten. As we are ontic and ontological, limited care to the ontic instance indicates deficiencies in institutionalization. Improvements are required to ensure the right to age with quality of life to this population.

ABSTRACT Objective: to understand the professional practice challenges in reaching the goals and objectives of the National Patient Safety Program (Programa Nacional de Segurança do Paciente). Method: qualitative case study, based on the Comprehensive Sociology, carried out with 31 professionals from the Patient Safety Center (Núcleo de Segurança do Paciente) and the nursing team, working in a teaching hospital. Data collection took place between May and December 2015 through interviews, observation and documentary analysis. The analysis proceeded according to the prerogatives of the Content Analysis. Results: three categories emerged: the prescribed reality; material resources and their impact on care; and human resources related to the reality. Final considerations: challenges to safe professional practice are caused by inadequate physical structure, insufficient physical and human resources, but mainly invade the transition from the prescriptive reality scope.

ABSTRACT Objective: to understand how the transitional care of nurses to olde adults with artificial pacemaker occurs. Method: a qualitative research, carried out in a philanthropic hospital in the city of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Fourteen nurses working in surgical and cardiac inpatient units participated. Data were collected between August and November 2020, through semi-structured interviews, and analyzed using the methodological framework Discourse of the Collective Subject and discussed in the light of Afaf Meleis’ theory of transitions. Results: nurses’ incipient knowledge about transitional care was identified. It was observed that the nursing discharge report is a facilitating instrument for transitional care. Final considerations: the study pointed out that the transitional care of nurses to older adults with artificial pacemakers does not have a theoretical foundation, reporting as a priority the care with the pacemaker identification card and with the surgical wound.

ABSTRACT Objective: To understand the challenges faced by urban midwives in assisting planned home births during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Qualitative study, based on the Collective Subject Discourse methodological framework, carried out with eight professionals, members of a birth care collective from the northeast region of Brazil. Data was collected between September and October of 2020 using the focus group technique. Results: The collective discourses revealed five central ideas: Changing assistance strategy; Dealing with frustration; Facing the fear of contamination; Avoiding exposure to the virus; and Keeping distance during the care process. Final considerations: The challenging condition the pandemic brings to the care of planned home births is made evident, being marked by the need for collective protection and the pressure of following health recommendations. The study also points out the need for official protocols and good quality information based on scientific evidence and humanizing principles to guide health care.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to analyze the concept of “interruption in the work of nursing professionals”. Methods: conceptual study according to the method proposed by Walker and Avant through integrative literature review. The study searched the databases using the descriptors: “Attention”, “Attention Bias”, “Health Personnel”, “Nurses”, “Patient Safety” and “Medical Malpractices”. The sample consisted of 36 studies. Results: the antecedents were alarms, answering phone calls, providing patient care, and lack of material/medicine. The defining attributes were pause, suspension, breakage, and intrusion. In relation to the consequences, the study highlighted the increase in frequency and severity of medication errors and change of focus. Final Considerations: theconceptual analysis identified the attributes, antecedents, and consequences and allowed to build an operational definition for “interruption in the work of nursing professionals”. It will contribute to the improvement of the work process and the creation of strategies that ensure safer care for the patient.

ABSTRACT Objective: to describe the profile of nursing diagnoses evidenced in indigenous elderly in the community. Methods: this is a cross-sectional study, carried out with 51 indigenous elderly people of Potiguara ethnicity, through a nursing consultation. The clinical data, obtained from the consultation, were analyzed following Risner’s diagnostic reasoning process and the NANDA-I Taxonomy (2018-2020). For greater accuracy, the diagnoses obtained underwent peer review by a specialist. Results: 37 diagnoses were identified, such as Impaired dentition (98.0%), Risk for impaired skin integrity (66.7%), Chronic pain (64.7%), Risk for deficient fluid volume (54.9%), Impaired swallowing (45.1%), Impaired walking (45.1%), Disturbed sleep pattern (43.1%), Stress urinary incontinence (41.2%), Risk for falls (35.3%), and Sexual dysfunction (33.3%). Conclusion: the diagnoses identified were predominantly from Safety/protection domain and result from factors that negatively influence indigenous elderly’s functional capacity.

ABSTRACT Objective: to know the conceptions of nurse midwives about the care guided in the best practices to the women in the delivery process. Method: descriptive research with a qualitative approach developed in a Federal Maternity-School. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 nurse midwives, and the speeches were categorized according to the thematic content analysis proposed by Franco. Results: the study reveals that care based on best practices should be based on scientific knowledge, avoiding unnecessary interventions and encourages the use of non-pharmacological techniques for pain relief, appropriate environment, individualized care, the bond between professional and parturient, as well as its role. Final Consideration: while criticizing the excess of interventions, nurse midwives value noninvasive techniques and interpersonal relationships, as well as the subjectivities of the parturient that contributes to the humanized care in the delivery process.

ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the network of human and non-human actors involved in the computerization of primary health care in the Brazilian federal government. Method: A qualitative study that used as a theoretical reference the actor-network theory and as a methodological reference the cartography of controversies. Data analysis was carried out using Gephi software, and through the extraction of reports, informed by the actor-network theory. Results: We found a network of 288 connections among 33 actors, composed mainly of nonhuman influencers of computerization. These actors are distributed throughout 3 inter-related communities, and manage the network by defining obligations, penalties, conflicts and intentionalities, thus influencing the success of the intended computerization. Final considerations: The network of actors at the federal level generates situations that, in many cases, hamper the successful implementation of a nationwide computerization strategy.

ABSTRACT Objective: Reflect on the work experienced by the nurse in coping with the COVID-19 pandemic in a public hospital of the State of Rio Grande do Norte. Methods: Reflective essay based in the professional experience in a public reference hospital for the care of patients affected by COVID-19 in the State of Rio Grande do Norte. Results were organized in two empirical categories, which emphasize potentialities and barriers in the nurse’s work in the face of the COVID-19, presented by means of Ishikawa diagram. Results: Two categories emerged from the experiences: Nursing leadership in organizing health services to face COVID-19; and the performance of nursing care management in the COVID-19 pandemic. Final considerations: It is necessary to value the nurse’s work in all its attributes, as well as strengthen the interdisciplinary work processes, which collaborate to overcome the crisis caused by the pandemic.

ABSTRACT Objective: to understand elderly people’s experiences in emergencies through access to other levels of health care. Methods: a phenomenological study in the light of Heidegger, conducted with 19 elderly patients admitted to an Emergency Care Unit of the city of Salvador, between April and October 2019. Results: ontic primacy: Disposition of the experience of elderly people waiting for regulation; Constitutional anguish and fear in the willingness to be an elderly person waiting for regulation in an Emergency Care Unit; Inappropriate elderly being suppressed while waiting for regulation; Being an elderly person unveiled in the existential modality of being for death. Ontological primacy: Heal how to be the presence of elderly people waiting for regulation. Final considerations: elderly people being anguished and afraid, feelings that allow the questioning of their own being, who want a healing and seeks ways that allows an active and proper participation in care.

ABSTRACT Objective: To describe the prevalence and factors associated with pressure injuries related to the use of personal protective equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Cross-sectional study conducted using an instrument made available in social networks with 1,106 health professionals. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and compared, considering pvalue < 0.05. Results: There was a prevalence of 69.4% for pressure injuries related to the use of personal protective equipment, with an average of 2.4 injuries per professional. The significant factors were: under 35 years of age, working and wearing personal protective equipment for more than six hours a day, in hospital units, and without the use of inputs for protection. Conclusion: Pressure injuries related to the use of medical devices showed a high prevalence in this population. The recognition of the damage in these professionals makes it possible to advance in prevention strategies.

ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the factors associated with the performance of episiotomy. Methods: Cross-sectional study, developed with data from the research “Born in Belo Horizonte: Labor and birth survey, “conducted with 577 women who had their children via vaginal birth. In order to verify the magnitude of the association between episiotomy and its possible determinants, logistic regression models were constructed to estimate the odds ratio. Results: Episiotomy was performed in 26.34% of women, and 59.21% knew they had been subjected to it. We observed that younger women, primiparous women, women assisted by a professional other than the obstetric nurse and women who had their babies in a private hospital have an increased chance of being submitted to this procedure. Conclusion: Considering the rates of episiotomy, this study highlights the need for the absolute contraindication to indiscriminate performing it.

ABSTRACT Objective: to report the experience of telemonitoring Brazilian nursing homes before coronavirus and COVID-19 infections. Methods: a descriptive experience report that occurred between March 18 and April 25, 2020 through telemonitoring nursing homes in Salvador, Bahia, following a script previously prepared for first contact and follow-up. The telemonitoring was carried out by professors from the School of Nursing of Universidade Federal da Bahia and Graduate Program students for four weeks. Results: thirty-two institutions were followed for four weeks. Some facilities and difficulties appeared during the monitoring. Final consideratios: as nursing homes are collective households, their residents are vulnerable to transmission of infections. In addition, the diversity of structures and economic, social and human resources needs of these locations reveal their fragility and urgency of public policies that address such diversities.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to understand Family Health Strategy nurses’ practices in the context of quilombola communities with an interface for cultural and political competences. Methods: a single integrated, qualitative case study carried out on seven Family Health Strategies located in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, state of Minas Gerais. Seven nurses and 59 quilombolas participated. Data were collected through individual interviews with nurses, collective interviews with quilombolas and observation. For analysis, the thematic content analysis was adopted. Results: the results revealed structural and territorial problems, which are configured as barriers for professional-user encounter as well as for professional practice performance. Final Considerations: it is necessary that Family Health Strategy nurses, based on political and cultural competences, create strategies that minimize the difficulties found in the implementation of health actions directed to quilombolas. Such strategies anchored in inclusive public policies.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to understand the practice of the nurse in healthcare management of children with chronic condition in the hospital setting. Methods: analytical study of qualitative approach with theoretical and methodological reference of institutional ethnography. Developed in the pediatric unit of a university hospital, in a municipality in Northeastern Brazil. Data collections techniques were: participant observation, documentary analysis and semi-structured interview. Participants of the study totaled twenty professionals, including nurses, social workers, psychologists, pharmacists, nutritionists, physiotherapists, and doctors. For data analysis, it was used the Bardin's Content Analysis with interface of the Atlas.ti software. Results: categories of analysis were “Nurse as mediator of healthcare management”; “Nursing process as a mechanism of healthcare management”. Final considerations: the nurse proved to be essential for healthcare management of the child with chronic condition, acting as mediator of the relationship between the doctor, the members of the health team, the user and their family.

ABSTRACT Objective: To understand how the nursing staff perceives the care provided to people in situations of psychiatric urgencies and emergencies in the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU – Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência). Method: Descriptive and qualitative study conducted in the Northeast region of Brazil with 34 of the SAMU nursing workers. Data were obtained by semi-structured interviews and processed by the Thematic Analysis. Results: The analysis of interviews allowed the identification of three categories: mechanical practice, need for qualification and (de)humanization of care. The results showed that the care offered to users in psychiatric urgency or emergency situations is based on mechanistic and specific actions. Final considerations: Nursing workers perceive that the care for people in situations of psychiatric urgency and emergency in SAMU is mainly based on physical and chemical containment measures, performing a little resolute and dehumanized care and raising the need for professional qualification.

ABSTRACT Objective: To characterize the data gathering technological tools used in nursing theses on violence from the view of “technological toolboxes”. Method: It is a descriptive and documental study, with a qualitative approach, based on Thesis available in the last ten volumes of the Catalogue of Theses and Dissertations of the Center of Nursing Studies and Research (CEPEn). Documents presenting technological tools during the data gathering of its studies were selected, and then classified using “technological toolboxes” according to Merhy. Results: 30 theses were selected, data gathering tools were classified in “technological toolboxes” as lightweight, light-hard, and hard technologies, with uniformity in most researches (23; 76.6%). Conclusion: Given it is a multifaced phenomenon, violence demands a deeper view, using the most diverse tools for its proper understanding and classification.

RESUMO Objetivo: identificar na literatura evidências da efetividade e eficácia de intervenções educativas na redução de complicações metabólicas e/ou vasculares em adultos com diabetes mellitus. Método: revisão sistemática realizada nas bases de dados LILACS, IBECS, CUMED, CINAHL e Medline e na biblioteca on-line SciELO com estudos de 2004 a 2014. Resultados: incluídos 11 estudos (5 ensaios clínicos randomizados e 6 quase experimentais). Apenas pesquisas que analisaram complicações vasculares foram identificadas. Conclusão: dois ensaios clínicos mostraram eficácia na redução de complicações cardiovasculares, da catarata ou retinopatia e nefropatia e todos os estudos quase experimentais revelaram efetividade na redução das úlceras nos pés, da vasculopatia e da neuropatia periféricas e manutenção da função renal.

RESUMOObjetivo:identificar a influência da musicoterapia no comportamento e qualidade de vida de crianças portadoras de retardo do desenvolvimento neuropsicomotor (RDNPM).Método:pesquisa experimental, com aplicações de musicoterapia (em um grupo de crianças) realizada na associação especializada em Cruz das Almas - Bahia, composta por 17 crianças portadoras de RDNPM com idade entre 5 a 12 anos. Foi observado o comportamento das crianças envolvendo aspectos emocionais, físicos, sociais e escolares.Resultados:houve evolução em todos os aspectos, sendo esta melhora significativa para os domínios Capacidade Emocional e Capacidade Escolar, mostrando os efeitos benéficos da musicoterapia.Conclusão:a terapia através da música torna-se uma opção de tratamento para crianças com RDNPM, melhorando a sua qualidade de vida.

RESUMOObjetivo:verificar a incapacidade funcional e os fatores socioeconômicos e demográficos associados entre idosos de Campina Grande (PB).Método:estudo domiciliar, transversal, realizado com idosos de ambos os sexos. As variáveis associadas à incapacidade funcional foram verificadas por meio de regressão de Poisson.Resultados:participaram 420 idosos (68,1% mulheres). As maiores prevalências de incapacidade funcional foram verificadas entre idosos do sexo feminino, com 80 anos ou mais, de cor branca, viúvos, pertencentes às classes D/E, que moravam sozinhos, com frequência de contatos de até 224 pessoas, com diversidade de contatos de até 14 pessoas. Observou-se associação estatisticamente significativa, após análise multivariada, entre incapacidade funcional e sexo e grupo etário.Conclusão:a associação entre incapacidade funcional, sexo e grupo etário mostra-se como um importante norteador de ações em saúde, uma vez que possibilitará que os serviços de saúde tracem ações que visem aprimorar, manter ou recuperar a capacidade funcional do idoso.

Estudo qualitativo realizado entr e abril e junho de 2010, em uma unidade de saúde docente-assistencial que funciona na Estratégia de Saúde da Família em Salvador-Ba e objetivou analisar a percepção dos usuários sobre o acolhimento. Fizeram parte do estudo 12 sujeitos de ambos os sexos. A análise dos depoimentos foi realizada a partir de análise categorial temática, emergindo quatro categorias: Acolhimento na compreensão do usuário; Relação entre equipe de saúde e acolhimento; Acolhimento como elemento de responsabilização, corresponsabilização e resolutividade; Entraves do acolhimento. Concluise que esta é uma proposta em constante aprimoramento, mas, ainda nota-se um esforço para a sua concretização nas práticas de saúde, pois, o acolhimento esbarra na intersubjetividade dos sujeitos envolvidos no processo.

A pesquisa investigou as dificuldades dos enfermeiros da Santa Casa de Montes Claros-MG em utilizar indicadores para avaliar a qualidade dos resultados dos processos assistenciais. Trata-se de estudo transversal de abordagem quantitativa realizada por meio de questionário aplicado aos enfermeiros que obedeceram aos critérios de inclusão. Como resultado encontrou-se que 94,9% dos participantes relataram dificuldades para utilizar indicadores de processo, sendo 50% graduados há menos de três anos e apenas 30% receberam informações sobre o assunto na graduação. Entre as dificuldades encontraram-se o acúmulo de atividades privativas (61,5%), falta de conhecimento teórico e prático sobre o tema (46,2%), pouco conhecimento da Gestão por Processo (43,6%), pouco envolvimento da equipe na coleta de dados (30,8%), dentre outros. Conclui-se ser importante refletir sobre as atividades privativas do enfermeiro dentro das unidades de saúde e a reorganização do seu processo de trabalho, além da inserção do tema nos cursos de graduação em enfermagem.

O objetivo do estudo foi analisar, na perspectiva de profissionais, as principais barreiras de comunicação vivenciadas no decorrer do processo de acreditação em um hospital privado de médio porte de Belo Horizonte. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, envolvendo 34 profissionais de saúde de categorias diferentes. Os resultados da pesquisa mostraram que a escassez de informação, a falta de objetividade, clareza e integridade no repasse de conhecimento favorecem a ruptura da prestação de serviços de qualidade. A comunicação organizacional é uma ferramenta eficaz para subsidiar mudanças importantes nas empresas, como o alcance da acreditação hospitalar. Articulando a mudança de forma concisa e clara no que se refere à comunicação, poderá ser alcançado perenemente o padrão de qualidade.
