the challenge that teachers have today is to teach with strategies that integrate technological tools to streamline their practice and thereby develop their digital skills considering the needs of the 21st century. However, this does not always happen. The basic teachers of a rural educational institution in the department of Magdalena, Colombia, although they have some technological means, do not use them in pedagogical practices, because they do not have the necessary training for their management and educational uses. This article describes a teachinglearning process based on the structuring of a Digital Competence Route around Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Technologies for Learning and Knowledge (TAC), and Technologies for Empowerment and Participation (TEP). The results of the training showed important changes concerning to the way teachers managed to overcome the instrumental level of the use of technology to appropriate it with a pedagogical sense, which allowed them to project teaching and learning actions that transcend the classroom and promote social participation and digital mobilization. The contribution of this study lies in the fact that it can be taken as a reference for other training processes in digital skills for teachers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
