On the basis of the features and functions of specialized laboratories of the engineering majors in colleges and universities, the quantitative evaluation method of value and rate of the utility for the laboratories was established combining the analysis of the resources input and output of the laboratories. By adopting this method, the running state of the newly built laboratories was objectively evaluated. In the meantime, it could provide principal evidence for the resource schedule of the universities, preliminary judgment of the necessity of the new planned laboratory and supporting reference for resource allocation of the universities. Finally, the influence of the compound cycling method in experimental teaching on the utility rate of the laboratory resources was discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
