It is the first time to adopt AHP-SWOT model to evaluate the cooperative laboratory conducted by universities and companies. In this paper we firstly carried out an SWOT analysis to the cooperative laboratory conducted by universities and companies. Then on the basis of SWOT analysis, an AHP model was constructed and the importance of this factors-SWOT was analyzed and ranked strategically. Finally we worked out SWOT Strategy Quadrilateral and Strategic vector (θ,p) =(23.7°,0.891). These data indicated that we should adopt the aggressive strategy to develop the cooperative laboratory conducted by universities and companies. This model can be widely applied to analyze the development strategies of the laboratory. The universities and corporations should set up the AHP-SWOT analysis model on the basis of their own real conditions, in order to decide whether they can build the cooperative laboratory together and formulate the development strategies. This AHP-SWOT model can be widely used to evaluate the development of all the laboratories. Besides, it also offers a scientific reference and a analysis metliod to the university leaders.
