Three-Dimensional Ground Penetrating Radar (3D GPR) detects subsurface targets non-destructively, rapidly, and continuously. The complex environment around urban roads affects the positioning accuracy of 3D GPR. The positioning accuracy directly affects the data quality, as inaccurate positioning can lead to distortion and misalignment of 3D GPR data. This paper proposed a multi-level robust positioning method to improve the positioning accuracy of 3D GPR in dense urban areas in order to obtain more accurate underground data. In environments with good GNSS signals, fast and high-precision positioning can be achieved based on GNSS data using differential GNSS technology; in scenes with weak GNSS signals, high-precision positioning of subsurface data can be achieved by using GNSS and IMU as well as using GNSS/INS tightly coupled solution technology; in scenes with no GNSS signals, SLAM technology is used for positioning based on INS data and 3D point cloud data. In summary, this method ensures a positioning accuracy of 3D GPR better than 10 cm and high-quality 3D images of underground urban roads in any environment. Mini–unmanned aerial vehicles (mini-UAVs) are emerging as a promising platform for through-wall radar to sense the enclosed space in cities, especially high-rise buildings, due to their excellent maneuverability. However, due to unavoidable environmental interference such as airflow, mini-UAVs are prone to trajectory deviation thus degrading their sensing accuracy. Most of the existing approaches model the impact of trajectory deviation into a polynomial phase error on the received signal, which cannot fit the space-variant motion error well. Moreover, the large trajectory deviations of UAVs introduce the unavoidable envelope error. This article proposes an autofocusing algorithm based on the back projection (BP) image, which directly estimates the trajectory deviations between the actual and measured track. Thus, the problem of the 2D space variability of the motion error can be circumvented. The proposed method mainly consists of two steps. First, we estimate the trajectory deviation in the line-of-sight (LOS) direction by exploring the underlying linear property of the wall embedded in the BP imaging result. Then, the estimated trajectory deviation in the LOS direction is compensated for to obtain an updated BP image, followed by a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) approach to estimate the trajectory deviation along the track through focusing targets behind the wall. Simulations and practical experiments show that the proposed algorithm can accurately estimate the serious trajectory deviations larger than the range resolution, improving the sensing robustness of UAV-borne through-wall radar greatly. Extracting buildings in urban scenes from remote sensing images is crucial for the construction of digital cities, urban monitoring, urban planning, and autonomous driving. Traditional methods generally rely on shadow detection or stereo matching from multi-view high-resolution remote sensing images, which is cost-intensive. Recently, machine learning has provided solutions for the estimation of building heights from remote sensing images, but challenges remain due to the limited observation angles and image quality. The inherent lack of information in a single modality greatly limits the extraction precision. This article proposes an advanced method using multi-source remote sensing images for urban building height estimation, which is characterized by multi-level cross-fusion, the multi-task joint learning of footprint extraction and height estimation, and semantic information to refine the height estimation results. The complementary and effective features of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and electro-optical (EO) images are transferred through multi-level cross-fusion. We use the semantic information of the footprint extraction branch to refine the height estimation results, enhancing the height results from coarse to fine. Finally, We evaluate our model on the SpaceNet 6 dataset and achieve 0.3849 and 0.7231 in the height estimation metric δ 1 and footprint extraction metric D i c e , respectively, which indicate effective improvements in the results compared to other methods. Ground deformation is one of the crucial issues threatening many cities in both societal and economic aspects. Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) has been widely used for deformation monitoring. Recently, there has been an increasing availability of massive archives of SAR images from various satellites or sensors. This paper introduces Multi-Satellite SBAS that exploits complementary information from different SAR data to generate integrated long-term ground displacement time series. The proposed method is employed to create the vertical displacement maps of Almokattam City in Egypt from 2000 to 2020. The experimental results are promising using ERS, ENVISAT ASAR, and Sentinel-1A displacement integration. There is a remarkable deformation in the vertical direction along the west area while the mean deformation velocity is −2.32 mm/year. Cross-validation confirms that the root mean square error (RMSE) did not exceed 2.8 mm/year. In addition, the research findings are comparable to those of the previous research in the study area. Consequently, the proposed integration method has great potential to generate displacement time series based on multi-satellite SAR data; however, it still requires further evaluation using field measurements. The standard Permanent Scatterer Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PSInSAR) technique, which is commonly used for surface motion analysis, assumes linear deformation velocities. While effective for monitoring urban subsidence over short periods, it falls short when dealing with non-linear, earthquake-related deformations over extended timeframes. To address this limitation, we use a non-linear PSInSAR technique, which is an enhancement of PSInSAR, to identify non-linear deformation patterns. We processed Sentinel-1A images from ascending and descending orbits in the Islamabad/Rawalpindi region from December 2015 to January 2023 using non-linear PSInSAR. By calculating the differences in deformation, we analyzed surface movements and assessed the impact of the 2017 earthquake on urban areas. Our findings reveal that the earthquake significantly increased the deformation in ascending and descending orbit tracks, with an average deformation of up to 70 mm/yr and a line-of-sight movement of up to 30 mm/yr. Our observations indicate that the deformation is directed towards the line of sight in the north and south of the deformed area, suggesting subsidence between the two uplifting faults, potentially linked to a concealed fault line along the deformation zone boundary. This contradicts previous arguments, suggesting that water extraction is the leading cause of deformation. Our analysis with non-linear PSInSAR demonstrates that tectonics play a significant role in deformation, providing valuable insights into tectonic-activity-induced deformations in urban areas over the long term. The population of Africa is expected to rise to 2.5 billion by 2050, with more than 80% of this increase concentrated in cities. Africa's anticipated population growth has serious implications for urban resource utilization and management, necessitating multi-level monitoring efforts that can inform planning and decision-making. Commonly, broad extent (e.g., country level) urban change analyses only examine a homogenous "developed" or "built-up" area, which may not capture patterns influenced by the heterogeneity of landscape features within urban areas. Contrarily, studies examining landscape heterogeneity at a finer resolution are typically limited in spatial extent (e.g., single city level). The goal of this study was to develop and test a hierarchical integrated mapping framework using globally available Earth Observation data (e.g., Landsat, Sentinel-2, Sentinel-1, and nightlight imagery) and accessible methodologies to produce national-level land use (LU) and urban-level land cover (LC) map products which may support a range of global and local monitoring and planning initiatives. We test our multi-tier methodology across three rapidly urbanizing African countries for the 2016–2020 period: Ethiopia, Nigeria, and South Africa. The initial output of our methodology includes annual national land use maps (Tier 1) for the purpose of delineating the dynamic boundaries of individual urban areas and monitoring national LU change. To complement Tier 1 LU maps, we detailed urban heterogeneity through LC classifications within urban areas (Tier 2) delineated using Tier 1 LU maps. Based on country-optimized sets of selected features that leverage spatial/texture and temporal dimensions of available data, we obtained an overall map accuracy of between 65 and 80% for Tier 1 maps and between 60 and 80% for Tier 2 maps, dependent on the evaluation country, although with consistent performance across study years providing a solid foundation for monitoring changes. We demonstrate the potential applications for our products through various analyses, including urbanization-driven LU change, and examine LC urban patterns across the three African study countries. While our findings allude to general differences in urban patterns across national scales, further analyses are needed to better understand the complex drivers behind urban LC configurations and their change patterns across different countries, city sizes, and rates of urbanization. Generating high-resolution land cover maps using relatively lower-resolution remote sensing images is of great importance for subtle analysis. However, the domain gap between real lower-resolution and synthetic images has not been permanently resolved. Furthermore, super-resolution information is not fully exploited in semantic segmentation models. By solving the aforementioned issues, a deeply fused super resolution guided semantic segmentation network using 30 m Landsat images is proposed. A large-scale dataset comprising 10 m Sentinel-2, 30 m Landsat-8 images, and 10 m European Space Agency (ESA) Land Cover Product is introduced, facilitating model training and evaluation across diverse real-world scenarios. The proposed Deeply Fused Super Resolution Guided Semantic Segmentation Network (DFSRSSN) combines a Super Resolution Module (SRResNet) and a Semantic Segmentation Module (CRFFNet). SRResNet enhances spatial resolution, while CRFFNet leverages super-resolution information for finer-grained land cover classification. Experimental results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed method in five different testing datasets, achieving 68.17–83.29% and 39.55–75.92% for overall accuracy and kappa, respectively. When compared to ResUnet with up-sampling block, increases of 2.16–34.27% and 8.32–43.97% were observed for overall accuracy and kappa, respectively. Moreover, we proposed a relative drop rate of accuracy metrics to evaluate the transferability. The model exhibits improved spatial transferability, demonstrating its effectiveness in generating accurate land cover maps for different cities. Multi-temporal analysis reveals the potential of the proposed method for studying land cover and land use changes over time. In addition, a comparison of the state-of-the-art full semantic segmentation models indicates that spatial details are fully exploited and presented in semantic segmentation results by the proposed method. Digital elevation models (DEMs) are widely used in digital terrain analysis, global change research, digital Earth applications, and studies concerning natural disasters. In this investigation, a thorough examination and comparison of five open-source DEMs (ALOS PALSAR, SRTM1 DEM, SRTM3 DEM, NASADEM, and ASTER GDEM V3) was carried out, with a focus on the Chongqing region as a specific case study. By utilizing ICESat-2 ATL08 data for validation and employing a random forest model to refine terrain variables such as slope, aspect, land cover, and landform type, a study was undertaken to assess the precision of DEM data. Research indicates that spatial resolution significantly impacts the accuracy of DEMs. ALOS PALSAR demonstrated satisfactory performance, reducing the corrected root mean square error (RMSE) from 13.29 m to 9.15 m. The implementation of the random forest model resulted in a significant improvement in the accuracy of the 30 m resolution NASADEM product. This improvement was supported by a decrease in the RMSE from 38.24 m to 9.77 m, demonstrating a significant 74.45% enhancement in accuracy. Consequently, the ALOS PALSAR and NASADEM datasets are considered the preferred data sources for mountainous urban areas. Furthermore, the study established a clear relationship between the precision of DEMs and slope, demonstrating a consistent decline in precision as slope steepness increases. The influence of aspect on accuracy was considered to be relatively minor, while vegetated areas and medium-to-high-relief mountainous terrains were identified as the main challenges in attaining accuracy in the DEMs. This study offers valuable insights into selecting DEM datasets for complex terrains in mountainous urban areas, highlighting the critical importance of choosing the appropriate DEM data for scientific research. Urban artificial surfaces and structures induce modifications in land–atmosphere interactions, affecting the exchange of energy, momentum, and substances. These modifications stimulate urban climate formation by altering the values and dynamics of atmospheric parameters, including cloud-related features. This study evaluates the presence and quantifies the extent of such changes over Sofia, Bulgaria. The findings reveal that estimations of low-level cloud base height (CBH) derived from lifting condensation level (LCL) calculations may produce unexpected outcomes due to microclimate influence. Ceilometer data indicate that the CBH of low-level clouds over urban areas exceeds that of surrounding regions by approximately 200 m during warm months and afternoon hours. Moreover, urban clouds exhibit reduced persistence relative to rural counterparts, particularly pronounced in May, June, and July afternoons. Reanalysis-derived low-level cloud cover (LCC) shows no significant disparities between urban and rural areas, although increased LCC is observed above the western and northern city boundaries. Satellite-derived cloud products reveal that the optically thinnest low-level clouds over urban areas exhibit slightly higher cloud tops, but the optically thickest clouds are more prevalent during warm months. These findings suggest an influence of urbanization on cloudiness, albeit nuanced and potentially influenced by the city size and surrounding physical and geographical features. Jakarta holds the distinction of being the largest capital city among ASEAN countries and ranks as the second-largest metropolitan area in the world, following Tokyo. Despite numerous studies examining the diverse urban land use and land cover patterns within the city, the recent state of urban green spaces has not been adequately assessed and mapped precisely. Most previous studies have primarily focused on urban built-up areas and manmade structures. In this research, the first-ever detailed map of Jakarta's urban green spaces as of 2023 was generated, with a resolution of three meters. This study employed a combination of supervised classification and evaluated two machine learning algorithms to achieve the highest accuracy possible. To achieve this, various satellite images were utilized, including VV and VH polarizations from Sentinel-1, multiple bands from Sentinel-2, and eight bands from Planet. The Planet data were subsequently transformed into the Red-Edge Triangulated Vegetation Index and Red-Edge Triangulated Wetness Index. The data training and testing samples for urban green spaces were obtained using the Street View images available on Google Maps. The results revealed that using the Random Forest classifier algorithm and only eight bands of Planet images achieved an accuracy rate of 84.9%, while a combination of multiple images achieved an impressive 95.9% accuracy rate. Jakarta's urban areas cover approximately 33.2% of green spaces. This study provides unprecedented insights into the type, size, and spatial distribution of Jakarta's urban green spaces, enabling urban residents and stakeholders to explore and promote healthier living and better manage these green areas. The expected acceleration in sea level rise (SLR) throughout this century poses significant threats to coastal cities and low-lying regions. Since the early 1990s, high-precision multi-mission satellite altimetry (SA) has enabled the routine measurement of sea levels, providing a continuous 30-year record from which the mean sea level rise (global and regional) and its variability can be computed. The latest reprocessed product from CMEMS span the period from 1993 to 2020, and have enabled the acquisition of accurate sea level data within the coastal range of 0–20 km. In order to fully utilize this new dataset, we establish a global virtual network consisting of 184 virtual SA stations. We evaluate the impact of different stochastic noises on the estimation of the velocity of the sea surface height (SSH) time series using BIC_tp information criterion. In the second step, the principal component analysis (PCA) allows the common mode noise in the SSH time series to be mitigated. Finally, we analyzed the spatiotemporal characteristics and accuracy of sea level change derived from SA. Our results suggest that the stochasticity of the SSH time series is not well described by a combination of random, flicker, and white noise, but is best described by an ARFIM/ARMA/GGM process. After removing the common mode noise with PCA, about 96.7% of the times series' RMS decreased, and most of the uncertainty associated with the computed SLR decreased. We confirm that the spatiotemporal correlations should be accounted for to yield trustworthy trends and reliable uncertainties. Our estimated SLR is 2.75 ± 0.89 mm/yr, which aligns closely with recent studies, emphasizing the robustness and consistency of our method using virtual SA stations. Building extraction plays an important role in urban information analysis, which is helpful for urban planning and disaster monitoring. With the improvement of SAR resolution, rich detailed information in urban areas is revealed, but the discretized features also pose challenges for object detection. This paper addresses the problem of individual high-rise building extraction based on single high-resolution SAR image. Different from previous methods that require building facades to be presented in specific appearances, the proposed method is suitable for extraction of various types of high-rise buildings. After analyzing the SAR images of many types of high-rise buildings, we establish a unified high-rise building part model, on the basis of a scattering mechanism of building structures, to describe the facade characteristics of high-rise buildings, including a facade regularity part, facade bright line part, double bounce part, and their spatial topological relationships. A three-level high-rise building extraction framework, named HRBE-PM, is proposed based on the high-rise building part model. At the pixel level, a modified spot filter is used to extract bright spots and bright lines of different scales simultaneously to obtain salient features. At the structure level, building parts are generated based on the salient features according to semantic information. At the object level, spatial topological information between parts is introduced to generate building hypotheses. We define two indicators, completeness and compactness, to comprehensively evaluate each building hypothesis and select the optimal ones. After postprocessing, the final high-rise building extraction results are obtained. Experiments on two TerraSAR-X images show that the high-rise building extraction precision rate of the HRBE-PM method is above 85.29%, the recall rate is above 82.95%, and the F1-score is above 0.87. The results indicate that the HRBE-PM method can accurately extract individual high-rise buildings higher than 24 m in most dense scenes, regardless of building types. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Human settlements have historically thrived near rivers due to enhanced navigation and trade, and the availability of water supply and resources. The use of night light data, representing economic activities, provides a novel approach to studying the interactions between human activity and rivers over time. Here, we use the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) stable night light data from 2000 to 2013 as a proxy for human presence and activities to quantify the statistical relationships between night light presence and intensity in the Indus Basin, Asia. We test how these data are affected by proximity to trunk channels and by channel type (single/multi-thread) in the study area. We find that night light presence is enhanced by 26% within a 0 to 5 km proximity range of the Indus River and its tributaries, relative to the basin as a whole. We interpret this to represent increased human presence and activity within this zone. However, the mean intensity is lower near the river and higher away from the river, signifying denser settlements, such as towns and cities, which are preferentially located away from the Indus and its tributaries. Moreover, the enhancement of lit pixels signifying human presence and activities is increased by 18% near single-thread sections of the Indus River, compared to segments of the Indus displaying multi-thread morphologies. We suggest that this is due to the enhanced stability of single-threaded channels, relative to mobile multi-threaded channel reaches. This study demonstrates how night lights are an important tool in studying the relationship between human presence and river dynamics in large catchments such as the Indus, and we suggest that these data will have an important role in assessing differential flood spatial and social vulnerability at a regional scale. This study proposes a fusion approach to enhancing urban remote sensing applications by integrating SAR (Sentinel-1) and optical (Landsat-8) satellite datasets. The fusion technique combines feature-based fusion and simple layer stacking (SLS) to improve the accuracy of urban impervious surface (UIS) extraction. SAR textures and modified indices are used for feature extraction, and classification is performed using the XGBoost machine learning algorithm in Python and Google Earth Engine. The study focuses on four global cities (New York, Paris, Tokyo, and London) with heterogeneous climatic zones and urban dynamics. The proposed method showed significant results. The accuracy assessment using random validation points shows an overall accuracy of 86% for UIS classification with the SLS method, outperforming single-data classification. The proposed approach achieves higher accuracy (86%) compared to three global products (ESA, ESRI, and Dynamic World). New York exhibits the highest overall accuracy at 88%. This fusion approach with the XGBoost classifier holds potential for new applications and insights into UIS mapping, with implications for environmental factors such as land surface temperature, the urban heat island effect, and urban pluvial flooding. Global sea level rise (SLR) has emerged as a pressing concern because of its impacts, especially increased vulnerability of coastal urban areas flooding. This study addresses the pressing concern of SLR and flood vulnerability in the East Coast of North Sumatra (ECNS) and Medan City. We employ a data-driven approach integrating multicriteria analysis, analytical hierarchy process (AHP)-based weighting, and spatial modeling within a geographic information system framework. The analysis considers crucial factors such as slope, land use, soil type, SLR, and land deformation. The study expands the existing framework by incorporating SLR and land subsidence, acknowledging their significant roles in exacerbating flood vulnerability. Future flood-intensity scenarios are simulated based on SLR projections. Data for spatial analysis primarily originated from multisensor satellite imagery, secondary sources from published literature, and field surveys. We validated the consistency of the variable weightings assigned for vulnerability analysis using a consistency ratio threshold (<0.1). Finally, the established flood vulnerability model was validated by comparing its predictions with recorded flood events in the ECNS and Medan City. Industrial agglomeration, as a typical aspect of industrial structures, significantly influences policy development, economic growth, and regional employment. Due to the collection limitations of gross domestic product (GDP) data, the traditional assessment of industrial agglomeration usually focused on a specific field or region. To better measure industrial agglomeration, we need a new proxy to estimate GDP data for different industries. Currently, nighttime light (NTL) remote sensing data are widely used to estimate GDP at diverse scales. However, since the light intensity from each industry is mixed, NTL data are being adopted less to estimate different industries' GDP. To address this, we selected an optimized model from the Gaussian process regression model and random forest model to combine Suomi National Polar-Orbiting Partnership—Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (NPP-VIIRS) NTL data and points-of-interest (POI) data, and successfully estimated the GDP of eight major industries in China for 2018 with an accuracy (R2) higher than 0.80. By employing the location quotient to measure industrial agglomeration, we found that a dominated industry had an obvious spatial heterogeneity. The central and eastern regions showed a developmental focus on industry and retail as local strengths. Conversely, many western cities emphasized construction and transportation. First-tier cities prioritized high-value industries like finance and estate, while cities rich in tourism resources aimed to enhance their lodging and catering industries. Coastal regions, increasingly threatened by floods due to climate-change-driven extreme weather, lack a comprehensive study that integrates coastal and riverine flood dynamics. In response to this research gap, we conducted a comprehensive bibliometric analysis and thorough visualization and mapping of studies of compound flooding risk in coastal cities over the period 2014–2022, using VOSviewer and CiteSpace to analyze 407 publications in the Web of Science Core Collection database. The analytical results reveal two persistent research topics: the way to explore the return periods or joint probabilities of flood drivers using statistical modeling, and the quantification of flood risk with different return periods through numerical simulation. This article examines critical causes of compound coastal flooding, outlines the principal methodologies, details each method's features, and compares their strengths, limitations, and uncertainties. This paper advocates for an integrated approach encompassing climate change, ocean–land systems, topography, human activity, land use, and hazard chains to enhance our understanding of flood risk mechanisms. This includes adopting an Earth system modeling framework with holistic coupling of Earth system components, merging process-based and data-driven models, enhancing model grid resolution, refining dynamical frameworks, comparing complex physical models with more straightforward methods, and exploring advanced data assimilation, machine learning, and quasi-real-time forecasting for researchers and emergency responders. Flooding is a natural disaster that coexists with human beings and causes severe loss of life and property worldwide. Although numerous studies for flood susceptibility modelling have been introduced, a notable gap has been the overlooked or reduced consideration of the uncertainty in the accuracy of the produced maps. Challenges such as limited data, uncertainty due to confidence bounds, and the overfitting problem are critical areas for improving accurate models. We focus on the uncertainty in susceptibility mapping, mainly when there is a significant variation in the predictive relevance of the predictor factors. It is also noted that the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve may not accurately depict the sensitivity of the resulting susceptibility map to overfitting. Therefore, reducing the overfitting problem was targeted to increase accuracy and improve processing time in flood prediction. This study created a spatial repository to test the models, containing data from historical flooding and twelve topographic and geo-environmental flood conditioning variables. Then, we applied random forest (RF) and extreme gradient boosting (XGB) algorithms to map flood susceptibility, incorporating a variable drop-off in the empirical loop function. The results showed that the drop-off loop function was a crucial method to resolve the model uncertainty associated with the conditioning factors of the susceptibility modelling and methods. The results showed that approximately 8.42% to 9.89% of Marib City and 9.93% to 15.69% of Shibam City areas were highly vulnerable to floods. Furthermore, this study significantly contributes to worldwide endeavors focused on reducing the hazards linked to natural disasters. Due to the complex interaction of urban and mountainous floods, assessing flood susceptibility in mountainous urban areas presents a challenging task in environmental research and risk analysis. Data-driven machine learning methods can evaluate flood susceptibility in mountainous urban areas lacking essential hydrological data, utilizing remote sensing data and limited historical inundation records. In this study, two ensemble learning algorithms, Random Forest (RF) and XGBoost, were adopted to assess the flood susceptibility of Kunming, a typical mountainous urban area prone to severe flood disasters. A flood inventory was created using flood observations from 2018 to 2022. The spatial database included 10 explanatory factors, encompassing climatic, geomorphic, and anthropogenic factors. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) were selected for model comparison. To minimize the influence of expert opinions on model training, this study employed a strategy of uniformly random sampling in historically non-flooded areas for negative sample selection. The results demonstrated that (1) ensemble learning algorithms offer higher accuracy than other machine learning methods, with RF achieving the highest accuracy, evidenced by an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.87, followed by XGBoost at 0.84, surpassing both ANN (0.83) and SVM (0.82); (2) the interpretability of ensemble learning highlighted the differences in the potential distribution of the training data's positive and negative samples. Feature importance in ensemble learning can be utilized to minimize human bias in the collection of flooded-site samples, more targeted flood susceptibility maps of the study area's road network were obtained; and (3) ensemble learning algorithms exhibited greater stability and robustness in datasets with varied negative samples, as evidenced by their performance in F1-Score, Kappa, and AUC metrics. This paper further substantiates the superiority of ensemble learning in flood susceptibility assessment tasks from the perspectives of accuracy, interpretability, and robustness, enhances the understanding of the impact of negative samples on such assessments, and optimizes the specific process for urban flood susceptibility assessment using data-driven methods. Monitoring and assessing coastal subsidence is crucial to mitigating potential disaster risks associated with rising sea levels. Nansha District in Guangzhou City, representing global coastal soft-soil urban areas, faces significant challenges related to ground subsidence. However, the current understanding of the status, causative factors, and risk (includes subsidence susceptibility and vulnerability) assessment of ground subsidence in Nansha District is unclear. To address this gap, we utilized the SBAS-InSAR technique, analyzing 49 Sentinel-1A images from December 2015 to June 2019, for systematic ground subsidence monitoring. Subsequently, we assessed subsidence risk using a comprehensive index method and a risk matrix. Our findings indicate that subsidence velocity primarily ranged from −40 to −5 mm/a, with a spatial pattern of increasing subsidence from inland to coastal areas. The cumulative subsidence process unfolded in four distinct stages. The genesis of land subsidence was linked to an endogenous geological context dominated by soft-soil deposition, influenced by external factors such as surface loading and groundwater extraction. High-risk zones were concentrated in key engineering development areas, transportation pipeline trunk lines, and densely populated regions, demanding special attention.
