Accurate and reliable mapping of fire extent and severity is critical for assessing the impact of fire on vegetation and informing post-fire recovery trajectories. Classification approaches that combine pixel-wise and neighbourhood statistics including image texture derived from high-resolution satellite data may improve on current methods of fire severity mapping. Texture is an innate property of all land cover surfaces that is known to vary between fire severity classes, becoming increasingly more homogenous as fire severity increases. In this study, we compared candidate backscatter and reflectance indices derived from Sentinel 1 and Sentinel 2, respectively, together with grey-level-co-occurrence-matrix (GLCM)-derived texture indices using a random forest supervised classification framework. Cross-validation (for which the target fire was excluded in training) and target-trained (for which the target fire was included in training) models were compared to evaluate performance between the models with and without texture indices. The results indicated that the addition of texture indices increased the classification accuracies of severity for both sensor types, with the greatest improvements in the high severity class (23.3%) for the Sentinel 1 and the moderate severity class (17.4%) for the Sentinel 2 target-trained models. The target-trained models consistently outperformed the cross-validation models, especially with regard to Sentinel 1, emphasising the importance of local training data in capturing post-fire variation in different forest types and severity classes. The Sentinel 2 models more accurately estimated fire extent and were improved with the addition of texture indices (3.2%). Optical sensor data yielded better results than C-band synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data with respect to distinguishing fire severity and extent. Successful detection using C-band data was linked to significant structural change in the canopy (i.e., partial-complete canopy consumption) and is more successful over sparse, low-biomass forest. Future research will investigate the sensitivity of longer-wavelength (L-band) SAR regarding fire severity estimation and the potential for an integrated fire-mapping system that incorporates both active and passive remote sensing to detect and monitor changes in vegetation cover and structure. Since Neural Radiation Field (NeRF) was first proposed, a large number of studies dedicated to them have emerged. These fields achieved very good results in their respective contexts, but they are not sufficiently practical for our project. If we want to obtain novel images of satellites photographed in space by another satellite, we must face problems like inaccurate camera focal lengths and poor image texture. There are also some small structures on satellites that NeRF-like algorithms cannot render well. In these cases, the NeRF's performance cannot sufficiently meet the project's needs. In fact, the images rendered by the NeRF will have many incomplete structures, while the MipNeRF will blur the edges of the structures on the satellite and obtain unrealistic colors. In response to these problems, we proposed STs-NeRF, which improves the quality of the new perspective images through an encoding module and a new network structure. We found a method for calculating poses that are suitable for our dataset and that enhance the network's input learning effect by recoding the sampling points and viewing directions through a dynamic encoding (DE) module. Then, we input them into our layer-by-layer normalized multi-layer perceptron (LLNMLP). By simultaneously inputting points and directions into the network, we avoid the mutual influence between light rays, and through layer-by-layer normalization, we ease the model's overfitting from a training perspective. Since real images should not be made public, we created a synthetic dataset and conducted a series of experiments. The experiments showed that our method achieves the best results in reconstructing captured satellite images, compared with the NeRF, the MipNeRF, the NeuS and the NeRF2Mesh, and improves the Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) by 19%. Pasture degradation poses significant economic, social, and environmental impacts in the Brazilian savanna ecosystem. Despite these impacts, effectively detecting varying intensities of agronomic and biological degradation through remote sensing remains challenging. This study explores the potential of the eight-band PlanetScope SuperDove satellite constellation to discriminate between five classes of pasture degradation: non-degraded pasture (NDP); pastures with low- (LID) and moderate-intensity degradation (MID); severe agronomic degradation (SAD); and severe biological degradation (SBD). Using a set of 259 cloud-free images acquired in 2022 across five sites located in central Brazil, the study aims to: (i) identify the most suitable period for discriminating between various degradation classes; (ii) evaluate the Random Forest (RF) classification performance of different SuperDove attributes; and (iii) compare metrics of accuracy derived from two predicted scenarios of pasture degradation: a more challenging one involving five classes (NDP, LID, MID, SAD, and SBD), and another considering only non-degraded and severely degraded pastures (NDP, SAD, and SBD). The study assessed individual and combined sets of SuperDove attributes, including band reflectance, vegetation indices, endmember fractions from spectral mixture analysis (SMA), and image texture variables from Gray-level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM). The results highlighted the effectiveness of the transition from the rainy to the dry season and the period towards the beginning of a new seasonal rainy cycle in October for discriminating pasture degradation. In comparison to the dry season, more favorable discrimination scenarios were observed during the rainy season. In the dry season, increased amounts of non-photosynthetic vegetation (NPV) complicate the differentiation between NDP and SBD, which is characterized by high soil exposure. Pastures exhibiting severe biological degradation showed greater sensitivity to water stress, manifesting earlier reflectance changes in the visible and near-infrared bands of SuperDove compared to other classes. Reflectance-based classification yielded higher overall accuracy (OA) than the approaches using endmember fractions, vegetation indices, or texture metrics. Classifications using combined attributes achieved an OA of 0.69 and 0.88 for the five-class and three-class scenarios, respectively. In the five-class scenario, the highest F1-scores were observed for NDP (0.61) and classes of agronomic (0.71) and biological (0.88) degradation, indicating the challenges in separating low and moderate stages of pasture degradation. An initial comparison of RF classification results for the five categories of degraded pastures, utilizing reflectance data from MultiSpectral Instrument (MSI)/Sentinel-2 (400–2500 nm) and SuperDove (400–900 nm), demonstrated an enhanced OA (0.79 versus 0.66) with Sentinel-2 data. This enhancement is likely to be attributed to the inclusion of shortwave infrared (SWIR) spectral bands in the data analysis. Faced with the problem of incompatibility between traditional information acquisition mode and spaceborne earth observation tasks, starting from the general mathematical model of compressed sensing, a theoretical model of block compressed sensing was established, and a full-process adaptive coding and decoding compressed sensing framework for remote sensing images was proposed, which includes five parts: mode selection, feature factor extraction, adaptive shape segmentation, adaptive sampling rate allocation and image reconstruction. Unlike previous semi-adaptive or local adaptive methods, the advantages of the adaptive encoding and decoding method proposed in this paper are mainly reflected in four aspects: (1) Ability to select encoding modes based on image content, and maximizing the use of the richness of the image to select appropriate sampling methods; (2) Capable of utilizing image texture details for adaptive segmentation, effectively separating complex and smooth regions; (3) Being able to detect the sparsity of encoding blocks and adaptively allocate sampling rates to fully explore the compressibility of images; (4) The reconstruction matrix can be adaptively selected based on the size of the encoding block to alleviate block artifacts caused by non-stationary characteristics of the image. Experimental results show that the method proposed in this article has good stability for remote sensing images with complex edge textures, with the peak signal-to-noise ratio and structural similarity remaining above 35 dB and 0.8. Moreover, especially for ocean images with relatively simple image content, when the sampling rate is 0.26, the peak signal-to-noise ratio reaches 50.8 dB, and the structural similarity is 0.99. In addition, the recovered images have the smallest BRISQUE value, with better clarity and less distortion. In the subjective aspect, the reconstructed image has clear edge details and good reconstruction effect, while the block effect is effectively suppressed. The framework designed in this paper is superior to similar algorithms in both subjective visual and objective evaluation indexes, which is of great significance for alleviating the incompatibility between traditional information acquisition methods and satellite-borne earth observation missions. Unmanned Aerial Systems (UASs) are increasingly vital in precision agriculture, offering detailed, real-time insights into plant health across multiple spectral domains. However, this technology's precision in estimating plant traits associated with Nitrogen Use Efficiency (NUE), and the factors affecting this precision, are not well-documented. This review examines the capabilities of UASs in assessing NUE in crops. Our analysis specifically highlights how different growth stages critically influence NUE and biomass assessments in crops and reveals a significant impact of specific signal processing techniques and sensor types on the accuracy of remote sensing data. Optimized flight parameters and precise sensor calibration are underscored as key for ensuring the reliability and validity of collected data. Additionally, the review delves into how different canopy structures, like planophile and erect leaf orientations, uniquely influence spectral data interpretation. The study also recognizes the untapped potential of image texture features in UAV-based remote sensing for detailed analysis of canopy micro-architecture. In order to obtain high-quality images, the application of low-illumination image enhancement techniques plays a vital role in enhancing the overall visual appeal. However, it is particularly difficult to enhance an image while maintaining the original information of the scene. The augmentation method based on Retinex theory is widely considered as one of the representative techniques for such problems, but this method still has some limitations. First of all, noise is easily ignored in the process of model building, and the robustness of the model needs to be improved. Secondly, the image decomposition is less effective, so that part of the image information is not effectively presented. Finally, the optimization procedure is computationally complicated. This paper introduces a novel approach for enhancing low-illumination images by utilizing the relative deviation of local gradients. The proposed method aims to address the challenges associated with low-illumination images and offers a solution to these issues. In this paper, local gradient relative deviation is used as a constraint term and a noise term is added to highlight the image texture and structure and improve the robustness of the models, considering that L P achieves piecewise smoothing with better sparsity compared to the sum norm commonly used by L 1 and L 2 norms. In this paper, the L 2 − L P norm is used to constrain the model, which smooths the illumination component and better preserves the details of the reflectance component. In addition, to efficiently solve the optimization problem, the alternating direction multiplier method is chosen to transform the optimization process into the solution of several sub-problems. In comparison to traditional Retinex models, the proposed method excels in its ability to simultaneously enhance the image and suppress noise effectively. The experimental outcomes demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model in enhancing both simulated and real data. We tested the Moment Distance Index (MDI) in combination with texture features for the summer vegetation mapping in the eastern Pamir Mountains, Tajikistan using the 2014 Landsat OLI (Operational Land Imager) image. The five major classes identified were sparse vegetation, medium-dense vegetation, dense vegetation, barren land, and water bodies. By utilizing object features in a random forest (RF) classifier, the overall classification accuracy of the land cover maps were 92% using a set of variables including texture features and MDI, and 84% using a set of variables including texture but without MDI. A decrease of the Kappa statistics, from 0.89 to 0.79, was observed when MDI was removed from the set of predictor variables. McNemar's test showed that the increase in the classification accuracy due to the addition of MDI was statistically significant (p < 0.05). Survey data describing land cover information such as type and diversity over several decades are scarce. Therefore, our capacity to reconstruct historical land cover using field data and archived remotely sensed data over large areas and long periods of time is somewhat limited. This study explores the relationship between CORONA texture-a surrogate for actual land cover type and complexity-with spectral vegetation indices and texture variables derived from Landsat MSS under the Spectral Variation Hypothesis (SVH) such as to reconstruct historical continuous land cover type and complexity. Image texture of CORONA was calculated using a mean occurrence measure while image textures of Landsat MSS were calculated by occurrence and co-occurrence measures. The relationship between these variables was evaluated using correlation and regression techniques. The reconstruction procedure was undertaken through regression kriging. The results showed that, as expected, texture based on the visible bands and corresponding indices indicated larger correlation with CORONA texture, a surrogate of land cover (correlation >0.65). In terms of prediction, the combination of the first-order mean of band green, second-order measure of tasseled cap brightness, second-order mean of Normalized Visible Index (NVI) and second-order entropy of NIR yielded the best model with respect to Akaike's Information Criterion (AIC), r-square, and variance inflation factors (VIF). The regression model was then used in regression kriging to map historical continuous land cover. The resultant maps indicated the type and degree of complexity in land cover. Moreover, the proposed methodology minimized the impacts of topographic shadow in the region. The performance of this approach was compared with two conventional classification methods: hard classifiers and continuous classifiers. In contrast to conventional techniques, the technique could clearly quantify land cover complexity and type. Future applications of CORONA datasets such as this one could include: improved quality of CORONA imagery, studies of the CORONA texture measures for extracting ecological parameters (e.g., species distributions), change detection and super resolution mapping using CORONA and Landsat MSS. Remote sensing allows us to conduct large-scale scientific studies that require extensive mapping and the amalgamation of numerous images. However, owing to variations in radiation, atmospheric conditions, sensor perspectives, and land cover, significant color discrepancies often arise between different images, necessitating color consistency adjustments for effective image mosaicking and applications. Existing methods for color consistency adjustment in remote sensing images struggle with complex one-to-many nonlinear color-mapping relationships, often resulting in texture distortions. To address these challenges, this study proposes a convolutional neural network-based color consistency method for remote sensing cartography that considers both global and local color mapping and texture mapping constrained by the source domain. This method effectively handles complex color-mapping relationships while minimizing texture distortions in the target image. Comparative experiments on remote sensing images from different times, sensors, and resolutions demonstrated that our method achieved superior color consistency, preserved fine texture details, and provided visually appealing outcomes, assisting in generating large-area data products. In the infrared remote sensing imaging system, the output of the detector is uneven, resulting in noticeable stripe noise in the image, which significantly reduces the image quality. Therefore, in response to the problem of establishing a variational model for the image globally and fixing the fractional order of the regularization term in the existing stripe noise removal algorithms based on model optimization, a stripe noise removal algorithm for infrared remote sensing images based on an adaptive weighted variable order model is proposed. In this algorithm, the vertical and approximate components containing stripe noise in the image are first separated through multi-level and multi-scale wavelet transform, and only these two components are processed; secondly, the global sparsity and the gradient sparsity of stripe noise and the variable order gradient sparsity of the information component are constrained by L1 norm, so as to establish the stripe noise removal model. The order of the fractional derivative is adaptively assigned to each pixel of the information component through local variance; then, an adaptive weight operator is introduced, which can assign different weights to the pixels in the variable order derivative of the information component on the basis of the image gradient information. Finally, through the ADMM algorithm, we can obtain the optimal solution of this model. The processing results of simulated and actual data indicate that the proposed algorithm performs well in all indexes and has obvious advantages in removing stripe noise and preserving image details. Accurate estimation of soil moisture content (SMC) in the field is a critical aspect of precise irrigation management. The development of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms has provided an economically efficient means for field-scale SMC measurements. However, previous studies have mostly focused on single-sensor estimates of SMC. Additionally, the lack of differentiation between various crops and their growth stages has resulted in an unclear understanding of how crop types and growth stages affect the accuracy of SMC estimation at different soil depths. Therefore, the purpose of this paper was to use UAV multimodal remote sensing and a machine learning algorithm to estimate the SMC in agricultural fields and investigate estimation's effectiveness under different scenarios. The results indicated the following: (1) The multispectral remote sensing method provided higher accuracy in SMC estimation compared to thermal infrared remote sensing. Moreover, the integration of multimodal data improved the accuracy of SMC estimation, enhancing the coefficient of determination (R2) by approximately 14% over that achieved through the use of multispectral data alone and 39% over that of thermal infrared data alone. (2) Across the entire growth period, the optimal soil depths of SMC estimation for soybean were 10 cm and 20 cm (average R2 were 0.81 and 0.82, respectively), while for corn, they were 10 cm, 20 cm, and 40 cm (average R2 were 0.59, 0.60, and 0.55, respectively). (3) The SMC estimation model performed better for both crops during the first three growth stages, with accuracy declining in the maturity stage. These results demonstrate that this approach can provide relatively accurate root zone SMC estimates for different crops throughout their main growth periods. Soil salinization is a significant global threat to sustainable agricultural development, with soil salinity serving as a crucial indicator for evaluating soil salinization. Remote sensing technology enables large-scale inversion of soil salinity, facilitating the monitoring and assessment of soil salinization levels, thus supporting the prevention and management of soil salinization. This study employs multi-source remote sensing data, selecting 8 radar polarization combinations, 10 spectral indices, and 3 topographic factors to form a feature variable dataset. By applying a normalized weighted variable optimization method, highly important feature variables are identified. AdaBoost, LightGBM, and CatBoost machine learning methods are then used to develop soil salinity inversion models and evaluate their performance. The results indicate the following: (1) There is generally a strong correlation between radar polarization combinations and vegetation indices, and a very high correlation between various vegetation indices and the salinity index S3. (2) The top five feature variables, in order of importance, are Aspect, VH2, Normalized Difference Moisture Index (NDMI), VH, and Vegetation Moisture Index (VMI). (3) The method of normalized weighted importance scoring effectively screens important variables, reducing the number of input feature variables while enhancing the model's inversion accuracy. (4) Among the three machine learning models, CatBoost performs best overall in soil salt content (SSC) prediction. Combined with the top five feature variables, CatBoost achieves the highest prediction accuracy (R2 = 0.831, RMSE = 2.653, MAE = 1.034) in the prediction phase. Leaf area index (LAI) is a key variable for monitoring crop growth. Compared with traditional measurement methods, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) remote sensing offers a cost-effective and efficient approach for rapidly obtaining crop LAI. Although there is extensive research on rice LAI estimation, many studies suffer from the limitations of models that are only applicable to specific scenarios with unclear applicability conditions. In this study, we selected commonly used RGB and multispectral (Ms) data sources, which contain three channels of color information and five multi-band information, respectively, combined with five different spatial resolutions of data at intervals of 20–100 m. We evaluated the effectiveness of models using single- and multi-feature variables for LAI estimation in rice. In addition, texture and coverage features other than spectra were introduced to further analyze their effects on the inversion accuracy of the LAI. The results show that the accuracy of the model established with multi-variables under single features is significantly higher than that of the model established with single variables under single features. The best results were obtained using the RFR (random forest regression) model, in which the model's R2 is 0.675 and RMSE is 0.886 for multi-feature VIs at 40 m. Compared with the analysis results of Ms and RGB data at different heights, the accuracy of Ms data estimation results fluctuates slightly and is less sensitive to spatial resolution, while the accuracy of the results based on RGB data gradually decreases with the increase in height. The estimation accuracies of both Ms and RGB data were improved by adding texture features and coverage features, and their R2 improved by 9.1% and 7.3% on average. The best estimation heights (spatial resolution) of the two data sources were 40 m (2.2 cm) and 20 m (0.4 cm), with R2 of 0.724 and 0.673, and RMSE of 0.810 and 0.881. Remote sensing image dehazing aims to enhance the visibility of hazy images and improve the quality of remote sensing imagery, which is essential for various applications such as object detection and classification. However, the lack of paired data in remote sensing image dehazing enhances the applications of unpaired image-to-image translation methods. Nonetheless, the considerable parameter size of such methods often leads to prolonged training times and substantial resource consumption. In this work, we propose SPRGAN, a novel approach leveraging Enhanced Perlin Noise-Based Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) with Rotation Invariance to address these challenges. Firstly, we introduce a Spatial-Spectrum Attention (SSA) mechanism with Skip-Attention (SKIPAT) to enhance the model's ability to interpret and process spectral information in hazy images. Additionally, we have significantly reduced computational overhead to streamline processing. Secondly, our approach combines Perlin Noise Masks in pre-training to simulate real foggy conditions, thereby accelerating convergence and enhancing performance. Then, we introduce a Rotation Loss (RT Loss) to ensure the model's ability to dehaze images from different angles uniformly, thus enhancing its robustness and adaptability to diverse scenarios. In organic farming, clover is an important basis for green manure in crop rotation systems due to its nitrogen-fixing effect. However, clover is often sown in mixtures with grass to achieve a yield-increasing effect. In order to determine the quantity and distribution of clover and its influence on the subsequent crops, clover plants must be identified at the individual plant level and spatially differentiated from grass plants. In practice, this is usually done by visual estimation or extensive field sampling. High-resolution unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) offer a more efficient alternative. In the present study, clover and grass plants were classified based on spectral information from high-resolution UAV multispectral images and texture features using a random forest classifier. Three different timestamps were observed in order to depict the phenological development of clover and grass distributions. To reduce data redundancy and processing time, relevant texture features were selected based on a wrapper analysis and combined with the original bands. Including these texture features, a significant improvement in classification accuracy of up to 8% was achieved compared to a classification based on the original bands only. Depending on the phenological stage observed, this resulted in overall accuracies between 86% and 91%. The matching of remote sensing images is a critical and necessary procedure that directly impacts the correctness and accuracy of underwater topography, change detection, digital elevation model (DEM) generation, and object detection. The texture of images becomes weaker with increasing water depth, and this results in matching-extraction failure. To address this issue, a novel method, homography-based motion statistics with an epipolar constraint (HMSEC), is proposed to improve the number, reliability, and robustness of matching points for weak-textured seafloor images. In the matching process of HMSEC, a large number of reliable matching points can be identified from the preliminary matching points based on the motion smoothness assumption and motion statistics. Homography and epipolar geometry are also used to estimate the scale and rotation influences of each matching point in image pairs. The results show that the matching-point numbers for the seafloor and land regions can be significantly improved. In this study, we evaluated this method for the areas of Zhaoshu Island, Ganquan Island, and Lingyang Reef and compared the results to those of the grid-based motion statistics (GMS) method. The increment of matching points reached 2672, 2767, and 1346, respectively. In addition, the seafloor matching points had a wider distribution and reached greater water depths of −11.66, −14.06, and −9.61 m. The accurate extraction of agricultural parcels from remote sensing images is crucial for advanced agricultural management and monitoring systems. Existing methods primarily emphasize regional accuracy over boundary quality, often resulting in fragmented outputs due to uniform crop types, diverse agricultural practices, and environmental variations. To address these issues, this paper proposes DSTBA-Net, an end-to-end encoder–decoder architecture. Initially, we introduce a Dual-Stream Feature Extraction (DSFE) mechanism within the encoder, which consists of Residual Blocks and Boundary Feature Guidance (BFG) to separately process image and boundary data. The extracted features are then fused in the Global Feature Fusion Module (GFFM), utilizing Transformer technology to further integrate global and detailed information. In the decoder, we employ Feature Compensation Recovery (FCR) to restore critical information lost during the encoding process. Additionally, the network is optimized using a boundary-aware weighted loss strategy. DSTBA-Net aims to achieve high precision in agricultural parcel segmentation and accurate boundary extraction. To evaluate the model's effectiveness, we conducted experiments on agricultural parcel extraction in Denmark (Europe) and Shandong (Asia). The distribution of forest-dominant tree species is crucial for ecosystem assessment. Remote sensing monitoring requires annual ground sample data, but consistent field surveys are challenging. This study addresses this by combining sample migration learning and machine learning for multi-year tree species classification in the Three Gorges Reservoir area in China. Using the continuous change detection and classification (CCDC) algorithm, sample data from 2023 were successfully migrated to 2018–2022, achieving high migration accuracy ( R 2 = 0.8303, RMSE = 4.64). Based on migrated samples, random forest (RF), support vector machine (SVM), and extreme gradient boosting (XGB) algorithms classified forest tree species with overall accuracies above 70% and Kappa coefficients above 0.6. Image super-resolution (SR) technology can improve the resolution of images and provide clearer and more reliable remote sensing images of high quality to better serve the subsequent applications. However, when reconstructing high-frequency feature areas of remote sensing images, existing SR reconstruction methods are prone to artifacts that affect visual effects and make it difficult to generate real texture details. In order to address this issue, a texture-detail-enhanced dense generative adversarial network (TDEGAN) for remote sensing image SR is presented. The generator uses multi-level dense connections, residual connections, and Shuffle attention (SA) to improve the feature extraction ability. A PatchGAN-style discrimination network is designed to effectively perform local discrimination and helps the network generate rich, detailed features. To reduce the impact of artifacts, we introduce an artifact loss function, which is combined with the exponential moving average (EMA) technique to distinguish the artifacts generated from the actual texture details through local statistics, which can help the network reduce artifacts and generate more realistic texture details. Experiments show that TDEGAN can better restore the texture details of remote sensing images and achieves certain advantages in terms of evaluation indicators and visualization. Accurate measurement and estimation of forest carbon sinks and fluxes are essential for developing effective national and global climate strategies aimed at reducing atmospheric carbon concentrations and mitigating climate change. Various errors arise during forest monitoring, especially measurement instability due to seasonal variations, which require to be adequately addressed in forest ecosystem research and applications. Seasonal fluctuations in temperature, precipitation, aerosols, and solar radiation can significantly impact the physical observations of mapping equipment or platforms, thereby reducing the data's accuracy. Here, we review the technologies and equipment used for monitoring forest carbon sinks and carbon fluxes across different remote sensing platforms, including ground-based, airborne, and spaceborne remote sensing. We further investigate the uncertainties introduced by seasonal variations to the observing equipment, compare the strengths and weaknesses of various monitoring technologies, and propose the corresponding solutions and recommendations. The Yellow River Delta (YRD), known for its vast and diverse wetland ecosystem, is the largest estuarine delta in China. However, human activities and climate change have significantly degraded the wetland ecosystem in recent decades in the YRD. Therefore, an understanding of the land use modifications is essential for the efficient management and preservation of ecosystems in this region. This study utilized time series of remote sensing data and the extreme gradient boosting method to generate land use maps of the YRD from 2000 to 2020. Several methods, including transition matrix, land use dynamic degree, and standard deviation ellipse, were employed to explore the characteristics of land use transitions. The results underscore significant spatial variations in land use over the past two decades. The most rapid increase was observed in built-up area, followed by terrestrial water and tidal flats, while unutilized land experienced the fastest decrease, followed by forest–grassland. The spatial distribution patterns of agricultural land, built-up area, terrestrial water, and forest–grassland demonstrated stronger directionality compared to other land use types. The wetlands have expanded in size and improved in structure. Unutilized land has been converted into artificial wetlands comprising ponds, reservoirs, salt ponds, shrimp and crab ponds, and natural wetlands featuring mudflats and forest–grassland. The wetland conservation efforts after 2008 have proven very effective, playing a positive role in ecological and environmental preservation, as well as in regional sustainable development. Forest structural parameters are crucial for assessing ecological functions and forest quality. To improve the accuracy of estimating these parameters, various approaches based on remote sensing platforms have been employed. Although remote sensing yields high prediction accuracy in uniform, even-aged, simply structured forests, it struggles in complex structures, where accurately predicting forest structural parameters remains a significant challenge. Recent advancements in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) photogrammetry have opened new avenues for the accurate estimation of forest structural parameters. However, many studies have relied on a limited set of remote sensing metrics, despite the fact that selecting appropriate metrics as powerful explanatory variables and applying diverse models are essential for achieving high estimation accuracy. In this study, high-resolution RGB imagery from DJI Matrice 300 real-time kinematics was utilized to estimate forest structural parameters in a mixed conifer–broadleaf forest at the University of Tokyo Hokkaido Forest (Hokkaido, Japan). Structural and textual metrics were extracted from canopy height models, and spectral metrics were extracted from orthomosaics. Using random forest and multiple linear regression models, we achieved relatively high estimation accuracy for dominant tree height, mean tree diameter at breast height, basal area, mean stand volume, stem density, and broadleaf ratio. Including a large number of explanatory variables proved advantageous in this complex forest, as its structure is influenced by numerous factors. Cloud detection technology is crucial in remote sensing image processing. While cloud detection is a mature research field, challenges persist in detecting clouds on reflective surfaces like ice, snow, and sand. Particularly, the detection of cloud shadows remains a significant area of concern within cloud detection technology. To address the above problems, a convolutional self-attention mechanism feature fusion network model based on a U-shaped structure is proposed. The model employs an encoder–decoder structure based on UNet. The encoder performs down-sampling to extract deep features, while the decoder uses up-sampling to reconstruct the feature map. To capture the key features of the image, Channel Spatial Attention Module (CSAM) is introduced in this work. This module incorporates an attention mechanism for adaptive field-of-view adjustments. In the up-sampling process, different channels are selected to obtain rich information. Contextual information is integrated to improve the extraction of edge details. Feature fusion at the same layer between up-sampling and down-sampling is carried out. The Feature Fusion Module (FFM) facilitates the positional distribution of the image on a pixel-by-pixel basis. A clear boundary is distinguished using an innovative loss function. Finally, the experimental results on the dataset GF1_WHU show that the segmentation results of this method are better than the existing methods. Spartina alterniflora (S. alterniflora) has grown rapidly in China since its introduction in 1979, showing the trend of alien species invasion, which has seriously affected the ecosystem balance of coastal wetlands. The temporal and spatial expansion law of S. alterniflora can be obtained through remote sensing monitoring, which can provide a reference and basis for S. alterniflora management. This paper presents a method for extracting and mapping S. alterniflora based on phenological characteristics. The coastal areas of the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration are selected as the research area, and the Landsat time series data from 1990 to 2022 on the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform are used to support the experiment in this paper. Firstly, the possible growing area of S. alterniflora was extracted using the normalized differential moisture index (NDMI), normalized differential vegetation index (NDVI), and normalized differential water index (NDWI); Then, the time series curve characterizing the phenological characteristics of vegetation was constructed using the vegetation index to determine the difference phase of phenological characteristics between S. alterniflora and other vegetation. Finally, a decision tree was constructed based on the phenological feature difference phase data to extract S. alterniflora, and it is applied to the analysis of temporal and spatial changes of S. alterniflora in the study area from 1990 to 2022. The results show that the area of S. alterniflora increased from ~1426 ha in 1990 to ~44,508 ha in 2022. However, the area of S. alterniflora began to show negative growth in 2015 due to the construction of nature reserves and ecological management. The results of correlation analysis showed that the growth of C. japonicum was significantly affected by temperature stress and weakly affected by precipitation. This study verified that Landsat time series images can effectively extract vegetation phenological information, which has strong feasibility for extraction and dynamic monitoring of S. alterniflora and provides technical support for the management and monitoring of invasive plants in coastal wetlands. To ensure the security of highly sensitive remote sensing images (RSIs) during their distribution, it is essential to implement effective content security protection methods. Generally, secure distribution schemes for remote sensing images often employ cryptographic techniques. However, sending encrypted data exposes communication behavior, which poses significant security risks to the distribution of remote sensing images. Therefore, this paper introduces deep information hiding to achieve the secure distribution of remote sensing images, which can serve as an effective alternative in certain specific scenarios. Specifically, the Deep Information Hiding for RSI Distribution (hereinafter referred to as DIH4RSID) based on an encoder–decoder network architecture with Parallel Attention Mechanism (PAM) by adversarial training is proposed. Our model is constructed with four main components: a preprocessing network (PN), an embedding network (EN), a revealing network (RN), and a discriminating network (DN). The PN module is primarily based on Inception to capture more details of RSIs and targets of different scales. The PAM module obtains features in two spatial directions to realize feature enhancement and context information integration. The experimental results indicate that our proposed algorithm achieves relatively higher visual quality and secure level compared to related methods. Monitoring salt marshes with remote sensing is necessary to evaluate their state and restoration. Determining appropriate techniques for this can be overwhelming. Our study provides insight into whether a pixel- or object-based Random Forest classification approach is best for mapping vegetation in north temperate salt marshes. We used input variables from drone images (raw reflectances, vegetation indices, and textural features) acquired in June, July, and August 2021 of a salt marsh restoration and reference site in Aulac, New Brunswick, Canada. We also investigated the importance of input variables and whether using landcover classes representing areas of change was a practical way to evaluate variation in the monthly images. Our results indicated that (1) the classifiers achieved overall validation accuracies of 91.1–95.2%; (2) pixel-based classifiers outperformed object-based classifiers by 1.3–2.0%; (3) input variables extracted from the August images were more important than those extracted from the June and July images; (4) certain raw reflectances, vegetation indices, and textural features were among the most important variables; and (5) classes that changed temporally were mapped with user's and producer's validation accuracies of 86.7–100.0%. Yield calculation is an important link in modern precision agriculture that is an effective means to improve breeding efficiency and to adjust planting and marketing plans. With the continuous progress of artificial intelligence and sensing technology, yield-calculation schemes based on image-processing technology have many advantages such as high accuracy, low cost, and non-destructive calculation, and they have been favored by a large number of researchers. This article reviews the research progress of crop-yield calculation based on remote sensing images and visible light images, describes the technical characteristics and applicable objects of different schemes, and focuses on detailed explanations of data acquisition, independent variable screening, algorithm selection, and optimization. Common issues are also discussed and summarized. Finally, solutions are proposed for the main problems that have arisen so far, and future research directions are predicted, with the aim of achieving more progress and wider popularization of yield-calculation solutions based on image technology. Deep learning, which is a dominating technique in artificial intelligence, has completely changed image understanding over the past decade. As a consequence, the sea ice extraction (SIE) problem has reached a new era. We present a comprehensive review of four important aspects of SIE, including algorithms, datasets, applications and future trends. Our review focuses on research published from 2016 to the present, with a specific focus on deep-learning-based approaches in the last five years. We divided all related algorithms into three categories, including the conventional image classification approach, the machine learning-based approach and deep-learning-based methods. We reviewed the accessible ice datasets including SAR-based datasets, the optical-based datasets and others. The applications are presented in four aspects including climate research, navigation, geographic information systems (GIS) production and others. Benggang is a type of erosion landform that commonly occurs in the southern regions of China, posing significant threats to local farmland and human safety. Object-based classification (OBC) can be applied with high-resolution (HR) remote sensing images for detecting Benggang areas on a large spatial scale, offering essential data for aiding in the remediation efforts for these areas. Nevertheless, traditional image segmentation methods may face challenges in accurately delineating Benggang areas. Consequently, the extraction of spatial and textural features from these areas can be susceptible to inaccuracies, potentially compromising the detection accuracy of Benggang areas. To address this issue, this study proposed a novel approach that integrates Segment Anything Model (SAM) and OBC for Benggang detection. The SAM was used to segment HR remote sensing imagery to delineate the boundaries of Benggang areas. After that, the OBC was employed to identify Benggang areas based on spectral, geometrical, and textural features. In comparison to traditional pixel-based classification using the random forest classifier (RFC-PBC) and OBC based on the multi-resolution segmentation (MRS-OBC), the proposed SAM-OBC exhibited superior performance, achieving a detection accuracy of 85.46%, a false alarm rate of 2.19%, and an overall accuracy of 96.48%. The feature importance analysis conducted with random forests highlighted the GLDV Entropy, GLDV Angular Second Moment (ASM), and GLCM ASM as the most pivotal features for the identification of Benggang areas. Due to its inability to extract and utilize these textural features, the PBC yielded suboptimal results compared to both the SAM-OBC and MRS-OBC. In contrast to the MRS, the SAM demonstrated superior capabilities in the precise delineation of Benggang areas, ensuring the extraction of accurate textural and spatial features. As a result, the SAM-OBC significantly enhanced detection accuracy by 34.12% and reduced the false alarm rate by 2.06% compared to the MRS-OBC. The fast and accurate extraction of plastic greenhouses over large areas is important for environmental and agricultural management. Traditional spectral index methods and object-based methods can suffer from poor transferability or high computational costs. Current deep learning-based algorithms are seldom specifically aimed at extracting plastic greenhouses at large scales. To extract plastic greenhouses at large scales with high accuracy, this study proposed a new deep learning-based network, U-FDS Net, specifically for plastic greenhouse extraction over large areas. U-FDS Net combines full-scale dense connections and adaptive deep supervision and has strong future fusion capabilities, allowing more accurate extraction results. To test the extraction accuracy, this study compiled new greenhouse datasets covering Beijing and Shandong with a total number of more than 12,000 image samples. The results showed that the proposed U-FDS net is particularly suitable for complex backgrounds and reducing false positive conditions for nongreenhouse ground objects, with the highest mIoU (mean intersection over union) an increase of ~2%. Side-scan sonar is designed and used for a variety of survey work, in both military and civilian fields. These systems provide acoustic imageries that play a significant role in a variety of marine and inland applications. For this reason, it is extremely important that the recorded sonar image is characterized by high resolution, detail and sharpness. This article is mainly aimed at the demonstration of the impact of side-scan sonar resolution on the imaging quality. The article also presents the importance of acoustic shadow in the process of analyzing sonar data and identifying underwater objects. The real measurements were carried out using two independent survey systems: hull-mounted sonar and towed side-scan sonar. Six different shipwrecks lying in the Baltic Sea were selected as the objects of research. The results presented in the article also constitute evidence of how the sonar technology has changed over time. The survey findings show that by maintaining the appropriate operational conditions and meeting several requirements, it is possible to obtain photographic-quality sonar images, which may be crucial in the process of data interpretation and shipwreck identification. As the degradation factors of remote sensing images become increasingly complex, it becomes challenging to infer the high-frequency details of remote sensing images compared to ordinary digital photographs. For super-resolution (SR) tasks, existing deep learning-based single remote sensing image SR methods tend to rely on texture information, leading to various limitations. To fill this gap, we propose a remote sensing image SR algorithm based on a multi-scale texture transfer network (MTTN). The proposed MTTN enhances the texture feature information of reconstructed images by adaptively transferring texture information according to the texture similarity of the reference image. The proposed method adopts a multi-scale texture-matching strategy, which promotes the transmission of multi-scale texture information of remote sensing images and obtains finer-texture information from more relevant semantic modules. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art SR techniques on the Kaggle open-source remote sensing dataset from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives. The extrapolation of forest structural attributes from LiDAR has traditionally been restricted to local or regional scales, hindering a thorough assessment of single-year versus time series predictors across expansive spatial scales. We extrapolated the vertical complexity captured by the Land, Vegetation, and Ice Sensor (LVIS) full-wave form LiDAR of boreal forests in the Alaska–Yukon–Northwest Territories region, utilizing predictors from Landsat images from 1989 to 2019. This included both single-year and long-term estimates of vegetation indices, alongside constant factors like terrain slope and location. Random forest regression models comparing the single-year and 15-year and 30-year time series models were applied. Additionally, the potential of estimating horizontal forest complexity from vertical complexity was explored using a moving window approach in the Kluane Valley. While the extended time series marginally enhanced model accuracy, a fine-tuned single-year model proved superior (R2 = 0.84, relative RRMSE = 8.4%). In estimating the horizontal complexity, the variance in a 5 × 5 moving window displayed the most promising results, aligning with traditional horizontal structure measures. Single-year Landsat models could potentially surpass time series models in predicting forest vertical complexity, with the added capability to estimate horizontal complexity using variance in a moving window approach. Pollarding oak trees is a traditional silvopastoral technique practiced across wide areas of the northern Zagros mountains, a unique and vast semi-arid forest area with a strong cultural and ecological significance. So far, the effects of pollarding on tree structure in terms of DBH (diameter at breast height)~H (height) relationships within the typical pollarding cycle, which often lasts 4 years, has not been scientifically described. Here, we combine field inventories of DBH with H obtained from photogrammetric UAV flights for the first time to assess DBH~H relationships within this system. We conducted the research at six pollarded forest sites throughout the Northern Zagros. The sampling encompassed all three main species of coppice oak trees. In the case of multi-stem trees, we used the maximum DBH of each tree that formed a unique crown. A linear relationship between UAV and extracted H and the maximum DBH of pollarded trees explained a notable part of the variation in maximum DBH (R2 = 0.56), and more complex and well-known nonlinear allometries were also evaluated, for which the accuracies were in the same range as the linear model. This relationship proved to be stable across oak species, and the pollarding stage had a notable effect on the DBH~H relationship. This finding is relevant for future attempts to inventory biomass using remote sensing approaches across larger areas in northern Zagros, as well as for general DBH estimations within stands dominated by pollarded, multi-stem coppice structures. Since Neural Radiation Field (NeRF) was first proposed, a large number of studies dedicated to them have emerged. These fields achieved very good results in their respective contexts, but they are not sufficiently practical for our project. If we want to obtain novel images of satellites photographed in space by another satellite, we must face problems like inaccurate camera focal lengths and poor image texture. There are also some small structures on satellites that NeRF-like algorithms cannot render well. In these cases, the NeRF’s performance cannot sufficiently meet the project’s needs. In fact, the images rendered by the NeRF will have many incomplete structures, while the MipNeRF will blur the edges of the structures on the satellite and obtain unrealistic colors. In response to these problems, we proposed STs-NeRF, which improves the quality of the new perspective images through an encoding module and a new network structure. We found a method for calculating poses that are suitable for our dataset and that enhance the network’s input learning effect by recoding the sampling points and viewing directions through a dynamic encoding (DE) module. Then, we input them into our layer-by-layer normalized multi-layer perceptron (LLNMLP). By simultaneously inputting points and directions into the network, we avoid the mutual influence between light rays, and through layer-by-layer normalization, we ease the model’s overfitting from a training perspective. Since real images should not be made public, we created a synthetic dataset and conducted a series of experiments. The experiments showed that our method achieves the best results in reconstructing captured satellite images, compared with the NeRF, the MipNeRF, the NeuS and the NeRF2Mesh, and improves the Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) by 19%. We have also tested on public datasets, and our NeRF can still render acceptable images on datasets with better textures.

Multi-source image registration has often suffered from great radiation and geometric differences. Specifically, grayscale and texture from similar landforms in different source images often show significantly different visual features, and these differences disturb the corresponding point extraction in the following image registration process. Considering that edges between heterogeneous images can provide homogeneous information and more consistent features can be extracted based on image edges, an edge consistency radiation-change insensitive feature transform (EC-RIFT) method is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the noise and texture interference are reduced by preprocessing according to the image characteristics. Secondly, image edges are extracted based on phase congruency, and an orthogonal Log-Gabor filter is performed to replace the global algorithm. Finally, the descriptors are built with logarithmic partition of the feature point neighborhood, which improves the robustness of the descriptors. Comparative experiments on datasets containing multi-source remote sensing image pairs show that the proposed EC-RIFT method outperforms other registration methods in terms of precision and effectiveness. As one of the world's major forestry countries, accurate forest-type maps in China are of great importance for the monitoring and management of forestry resources. Classifying and mapping forest types on a large scale across the country is challenging due to the complex composition of forest types, the similarity of spectral features among forest types, and the need to collect and process large amounts of data. In this study, we generated a medium-resolution (30 m) forest classification map of China using multi-source remote sensing images and local samples. A mapping framework based on Google Earth Engine (GEE) was constructed mainly using the spectral, textural, and structural features of Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 remote sensing images, while local acquisition data were utilized as the mapping channel for training. The proposed method includes the following steps. First, local data processing is performed to obtain training and validation samples. Second, Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 data are processed to improve the classification accuracy by using the enhanced vegetation index (EVI) and the red-edge position index (REPI) computed based on the S2A data. Third, to improve classification efficiency, useless bands are removed and important bands are retained through feature importance analysis. Finally, random forest (RF) is used as a classifier to train the above features, and the classification results are used for mapping and accuracy evaluation. The validation of the samples showed an accuracy of 82.37% and a Kappa value of 0.72. The results showed that the total forest area in China is 21,662,261.17 km 2 , of which 1,127,294.42 km 2 of coniferous forests account for 52% of the total area, 981,690.98 km 2 of broad-leaf forests account for 45.3 % of the total area, and 57,275.77 km 2 of mixed coniferous and broad-leaf forests account for 2.6% of the total area. Upon further evaluation, we found that textural and structural features play a greater role in classification compared to spectral features. Our study shows that combining multi-source high-resolution remote sensing imagery with locally collected samples can produce forest maps for large areas. The integrity of remote-sensing image data is susceptible to corruption during storage and transmission. Perceptual hashing is a non-destructive data integrity-protection technique suitable for high-accuracy requirements of remote-sensing image data. However, the existing remote-sensing image perceptual hash-authentication algorithms face security issues in storing and transmitting the original perceptual hash value. This paper proposes a remote-sensing image integrity authentication method based on blockchain and perceptual hash to address this problem. The proposed method comprises three parts: perceptual hash value generation, secure blockchain storage and transmission, and remote-sensing image integrity authentication. An NSCT-based perceptual hashing algorithm that considers the multi-band characteristics of remote-sensing images is proposed. A Perceptual Hash Secure Storage and Transmission Framework (PH-SSTF) is designed by combining Hyperledger Fabric and InterPlanetary File System (IPFS). The experimental results show that the method can effectively verify remote-sensing image integrity and tamper with the location. The perceptual hashing algorithm exhibits strong robustness and sensitivity. Meanwhile, the comparison results of data-tampering identification for multiple landscape types show that the algorithm has stronger stability and broader applicability compared with existing perceptual hash algorithms. This study evaluated the effect of contrasting stockings of Gmelina arborea on its initial growth and aboveground Carbon stock, and the efficacy of aerial images obtained using drones to capture the crown cover at different stockings. The results indicated that denser stockings showed greater tree heights and stem diameter increments, contrary to traditional measurements. The C storage capacity of Gmelina arborea was promising, with an aboveground estimated C stock of about 13 Mg ha−1 in 9 months, making it a valuable and promising species for CO2 sequestration under the context of climate change. The use of simple Red-Green-Blue (RGB) cameras and drones to detect and estimate crown areas in young plantations was mainly viable within the commercial range of stockings (500–2000 trees ha−1), and can be used as a powerful tool to better understand tree initial growth. The results showed effective discrimination without weeds independently of the stocking level; however, when weeds were present, the effectiveness decreased. In this paper, we investigate deep-learning-based image inpainting techniques for emergency remote sensing mapping. Image inpainting can generate fabricated targets to conceal real-world private structures and ensure informational privacy. However, casual inpainting outputs may seem incongruous within original contexts. In addition, the residuals of original targets may persist in the hiding results. A Residual Attention Target-Hiding (RATH) model has been proposed to address these limitations for remote sensing target hiding. The RATH model introduces the residual attention mechanism to replace gated convolutions, thereby reducing parameters, mitigating gradient issues, and learning the distribution of targets present in the original images. Furthermore, this paper modifies the fusion module in the contextual attention layer to enlarge the fusion patch size. We extend the edge-guided function to preserve the original target information and confound viewers. Ablation studies on an open dataset proved the efficiency of RATH for image inpainting and target hiding. RATH had the highest similarity, with a 90.44 % structural similarity index metric (SSIM), for edge-guided target hiding. The training parameters had 1 M fewer values than gated convolution (Gated Conv). Finally, we present two automated target-hiding techniques that integrate semantic segmentation with direct target hiding or edge-guided synthesis for remote sensing mapping applications. Lithological classification is a pivotal aspect in the field of geology, and traditional field surveys are inefficient and challenging in certain areas. Remote sensing technology offers advantages such as high efficiency and wide coverage, providing a solution to the aforementioned issues. The aim of this study is to apply remote sensing technology for lithological classification and attempt to enhance the accuracy of classification. Taking a study area in Jixi, Heilongjiang Province, China, as an example, lithological classification is conducted using high-resolution satellite remote sensing data from GF-2 and texture data based on gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM). By comparing the accuracy of lithological classification using different methods, the support vector machine (SVM) method with the highest overall accuracy is selected for further investigation. Subsequently, this study compares the effects of combining GF-2 data with different texture data, and the results indicate that combining textures can effectively improve the accuracy of lithological classification. In particular, the combination of GF-2 and the Dissimilarity index performs the best among single-texture combinations, with an overall accuracy improvement of 7.8630% (increasing from 74.6681% to 82.5311%) compared to using only GF-2 data. In the multi-texture combination dataset, the Mean index is crucial for enhancing classification accuracy. Selecting appropriate textures for combination can effectively improve classification accuracy, but it is important to note that excessive overlaying of textures may lead to a decrease in accuracy. Furthermore, this study employs principal component analysis (PCA) and independent component analysis (ICA) to process the GF-2 data and combines the resulting PCA and ICA datasets with different texture data for lithological classification. The results demonstrate that combining PCA and ICA with texture data further enhances classification accuracy. In conclusion, this study demonstrates the application of remote sensing technology in lithological classification, with a focus on exploring the application value of different combinations of multispectral data, texture data, PCA data, and ICA data. Leveraging low-cost drone technology, specifically the DJI Mini 2, this study presents an innovative method for creating accurate, high-resolution digital surface models (DSMs) to enhance topographic mapping with off-the-shelf components. Our research, conducted near Jena, Germany, introduces two novel flight designs, the "spiral" and "loop" flight designs, devised to mitigate common challenges in structure from motion workflows, such as systematic doming and bowling effects. The analysis, based on height difference products with a lidar-based reference, and curvature estimates, revealed that "loop" and "spiral" flight patterns were successful in substantially reducing these systematic errors. It was observed that the novel flight designs resulted in DSMs with lower curvature values compared to the simple nadir or oblique flight patterns, indicating a significant reduction in distortions. The results imply that the adoption of novel flight designs can lead to substantial improvements in DSM quality, while facilitating shorter flight times and lower computational needs. Spatial prediction of soil ammonia (NH3) plays an important role in monitoring climate warming and soil ecological health. However, traditional machine learning (ML) models do not consider optimal parameter selection and spatial autocorrelation. Here, we present an integration method (tree-structured Parzen estimator–machine learning–ordinary kriging (TPE–ML–OK)) to predict spatial variability of soil NH3 from Sentinel-2 remote sensing image and air quality data. In TPE–ML–OK, we designed the TPE search algorithm, which encourages gradient boosting decision tree (GBDT), random forest (RF), and extreme gradient boosting (XGB) models to pay more attention to the optimal hyperparameters' high-possibility range, and then the residual ordinary kriging model is used to further improve the prediction accuracy of soil NH3 flux. We found a weak linear correlation between soil NH3 flux and environmental variables using scatter matrix correlation analysis. The optimal hyperparameters from the TPE search algorithm existed in the densest iteration region, and the TPE–XGB–OK method exhibited the highest predicted accuracy (R2 = 85.97%) for soil NH3 flux in comparison with other models. The spatial mapping results based on TPE–ML–OK methods showed that the high fluxes of soil NH3 were concentrated in the central and northeast areas, which may be influenced by rivers or soil water. The analysis result of the SHapley additive explanation (SHAP) algorithm found that the variables with the highest contribution to soil NH3 were O3, SO2, PM10, CO, and NDWI. The above results demonstrate the powerful linear–nonlinear interpretation ability between soil NH3 and environmental variables using the integration method, which can reduce the impact on agricultural nitrogen deposition and regional air quality.
