A 72-year-old man with a history of prostate carcinoma was treated with imatinib for gastrointestinal stromal tumors. A CT scan revealed a lesion in the gastric body, and analysis confirmed a diagnosis of gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST). The patient underwent surgery without complications, but postoperative analysis showed areas of dedifferentiation, indicating a high risk of aggressiveness and lack of efficacy of imatinib.
