The main aim of the present study is to investigate positive psychotherapies with respec to positive psychological interventions. According to main aim of this study, the concept of psychotherapy was investigated. Then, some classical psychotherapies were summarized. The foundations of positive psychotherapies (increasing of well-being) were mentioned. Positive psychological interventions were also examined. Positive psychotherapies such as Seligman and his friends’ positive psychotherapy, Pesesschkian’ positive psychotherapy, well-being therapy and also qualities of life psychotherapy were investigated with respect to effectiveness. As a result, positive psychotherapies are as effective as classical psychotherapies. To see that both classical and positive psychotherapies are inbuilt might enrich our understanding. The life-span development approach is one of the multi-disciplinary approach aiming to understand human development. With this feature, life span developmental approach examines human development from birth to death by taking into account the contextual factors. Career development is one of developmental areas through human development and this developmental area influence mental health while being affected by factors related to mental health. Because of this, career development is one of developmental areas that is examined by life span developmental approach. Current research aims to examine the relationship between mental health and career development from the perspective of life span developmental approach. Both theoretical knowledge and research findings indicate that experiences through career development influence mental health and it is affected by factors related to mental health. Explanatory style has been considered as a cognitive factor present in personality traits in psychology. Two important dimensions are considered in explanatory style: optimism and pessimism. Optimism has been evaluated as positive side of mental health whereas pessimism has been evaluated as negative side of mental health. Thus, pessimism is an important topic which is studied by many scientific disciplines. Nowadays, the importance of systemic approach is increased. This approach is used by different disciplines such as as health, psychology, education and administration. Investigating of pessimism by means of systemic approach would provide us a comprehensive understanding of this subject. With these information in mind, in this article pessimism was reviewed from the perspective of systemic approach.

Human beings want to have mental and physical health, attach to life, and also have a happy life. In this process, they need several tools. The goals are the most important tool for a happy and healthy life. Goals help individuals become aware of problems in a timely fashion, which in turn leads to healthy solutions. Goals give direction for life of an individual, and also help avoid chaos. Goals can help motivate individual by clarifying and communicating what the individual is striving to achieve. In addition to these, goals are important determinants for physical and mental health. In this article, the history of goals in psychology, definition of goals, types of goals, transferring of goals for real life, relationships between goals and cultures, implementation programs which are goal oriented, goals in national literature, and also relationships between goals, physical and mental health have been briefly reviewed. As a result, many scientific disciplines could use goals as protective and preventive tools for mental and physical health of individuals.

The Life Span Developmental Approach examines development of individuals which occurs from birth to death. Life span developmental approach is a multi-disciplinary approach related with disciplines like psychology, psychiatry, sociology, anthropology and geriatrics that indicates the fact that development is not completed in adulthood, it continues during the life course. Development is a complex process that consists of dying and death. This approach carefully investigates the development of individuals with respect to developmental stages. This developmental approach suggests that scientific disciplines should not explain developmental facts only with age changes. Along with aging, cognitive, biological, and socioemotional development throughout life should also be considered to provide a reasonable and acceptable context, guideposts, and reasonable expectations for the person. There are three important subjects whom life span developmental approach deals with. These are nature vs nurture, continuity vs discontinuity, and change vs stability. Researchers using life span developmental approach gather and produce knowledge on these three most important domains of individual development with their unique scientific methodology.

This study examined the significance of self-worth as a crucial factor in human mental health and psychosocial development. The study explores self-worth interventions, mental disorders, and available resources. A comprehensive analysis of the conceptual and theoretical aspects of self-worth is undertaken. To begin with, the study offers conceptual justifications drawn from the self-worth literature, elucidating theoretical perspectives on the formation of self-worth in individuals. It elaborates on related concepts and their interconnections with self-worth. Furthermore, the examination extends to the influence of culture on self-worth development and emotions. Theoretical discussions on self-worth are approached through Psychoanalytic theory, Psychosocial development theory, Transactional analysis theory, and Attachment theory. The research scrutinizes the association between various mental disorders and self-worth, investigating how a lack of self-worth may exacerbate or precipitate certain psychopathologies. Previous interventions aimed at enhancing self-worth are outlined, accompanied by an exploration of methods for measuring self-worth. The study emphasizes the pivotal role of self-worth in individuals' mental health, considering the implications of concepts like unconditional self-worth and contingencies of self-worth. Recommendations are provided for individuals, parents, and mental health professionals based on the findings.
