The phyline mirid genus Larinocerus Froeschner (Heteroptera: Miridae) is reviewed and the new species L. microguttatus n. sp. is described based on specimens taken on Salvia sp. (Lamiaceae) that were intercepted at two U.S. ports of entry from Mexico. Larinocerus balius Froeschner and L. personatus Knight are diagnosed, L. microguttatus n. sp. is described, habitus images and male genitalia of all three species are provided, and a key is given to facilitate recognition. Five Heteroptera from Arizona/New Mexico are reported new to the United States: Pronotacantha armata Štusák [Berytidae], Tominotus hogenhoferi (Signoret) [Cydnidae], and Calocorisca tenera Distant, Fulvius atratus Distant, and Macrolophus saileri Carvalho [Miridae]. Reviews of the pertinent literature, distribution records, and known host information are provided and color habitus images and diagnoses of each species are presented to facilitate identification. Seven new species of the orthotyline mirid genus Hyalochloria Reuter (Hemiptera: Heteroptera) are described: H. dominicae new species and H. wheeleri new species from Dominica; H. decora new species, H. modesta new species, and H. sulcata new species from Ecuador; H. maldonadoi new species from Puerto Rico; and H. trinidadensis new species from Trinidad. Each species is diagnosed and described, and color dorsal habitus images and male antennal structures are illustrated to help distinguish the new species. Eight Heteroptera are reported for the first time from Florida, including five that represent new United States records: Brachyrhynchus membranaceus (Fabricus) (Aradidae), Eubule spartocerana Brailovsky (Coreidae), and the Miridae: Pycnoderes vanduzeei Reuter, Rhinacloa cardini Barber and Bruner, and Termatophyloides pilosulus Carvalho. Miridae representing new Florida records are Rhinacloa callicrates Herring, Sthenaridea maldonadoi Schuh and Schwartz, and Tropidosteptes quercicola Johnston. Two species of the plant bug genus Falconia Distant recently discovered in the United States are reported. Falconia maculipennis Maldonado, a species described from Puerto Rico, is documented for the first time from the Dominican Republic (Monsenor Noel and Pedernales provinces) and the United States (Florida). Falconia collaris, new species, is described, based on specimens from Florida (Miami-Dade Co.), Texas (Cameron Co.), and Mexico (Nuevo Leon and Veracruz). A diagnosis, description, and dorsal habitus and male genitalic images are given for each species, both of which are associated with wild lime, Zanthoxylum fagara (L.) Sarg. [Rutaceae]. Abstract. The plant bug genus Semium Reuter, previously containing six species, is reviewed and the new Mexican species Semium albocuneatum from Puebla and S. cervantesi from Guerrero, and S. texanum from western Texas are described. Previously known species are diagnosed and redescribed, a color dorsal illustration of S. albocuneatum, color dorsal images of all species, selected SEM images of S. hirtum, and illustrations of male genitalia are provided, and a revised key to the nine species of the genus is given. The new plant bug Eccritotarsus eichhorniae is described from specimens taken on water hyacinth, Eichhornia crassipes, in Maynas Province, Peru. This new species is extremely similar to Eccritotarsus catarinensis (Carvalho), a species described from Santa Catarina, Brazil. These two populations were considered conspecific until COI sequencing data and breeding studies indicated that the Peruvian material probably represented a new cryptic species. Subsequent morphological studies confirmed that two species were involved. In this paper diagnoses, descriptions, and illustrations of the adults, scent glands, and male genitalia are provided to distinguish these two closely related species, both of which are currently being used as biocontrol agents on water hyacinth in South Africa. The article reports that black flies (Diptera: simuliidae) have colonized only Okinawa and Guam out of four Pacific islands surveyed. It says Simulium aureohirtum Brunette (SAB), a new record for Guam, favors areas disturbed by human activities such as farming, and that its banding patterns of larval polytene chromosomes are the same as those of Okinawa and Thailand, suggesting that the colonizations might be recent. It says Stimulium japonicum Matsumura is among the species found on Okinawa.

The article discusses a report on the first North American record for Fulvius subnitens Poppius based on one specimen that was collected in south central Virginia. The authors determined and described Fulvius anthocoroides (Reuter), Fulvius imbecilis (Say), Fulvius slateri Wheeler, and Fulvius subnites, provide the color images of adults, updated distributions, and a review of feeding habits, as well as an identification key.
