As a consequence of higher complexity, intra- and cross-company production and logistic processes become vulnerable to unforeseen disturbances. In this paper an Event-based Supply Chain Early Warning System is presented that facilitates real-time identification of critical events within the supply network by using event data. As a result, adaptive situational control of intra-company production processes is enabled. The benefits of this approach regarding logistic objectives are evaluated by using a discrete-event simulation based on a prototypical implementation of a cross-company production scenario.
