Abstract

The article focuses on the competitive energy markets managed by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT). It further discusses factors that hinder the future energy supply of ERCOT including unwillingness on the part of suppliers to enter into long-term power purchase agreements, lack of liquidity, and the absence of a capacity market.
