1. House Fly (Musca domestica L.) Attraction to Insect Honeydew.

Abstract: House flies are of major concern as vectors of food-borne pathogens to food crops. House flies are common pests on cattle feedlots and dairies, where they develop in and feed on animal waste. By contacting animal waste, house flies can acquire human pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp., in addition to other bacteria, viruses, or parasites that may infect humans and animals. The subsequent dispersal of house flies from animal facilities to nearby agricultural fields containing food crops may lead to pre-harvest food contamination with these pathogens. We hypothesized that odors from honeydew, the sugary excreta produced by sucking insects feeding on crops, or molds and fungi growing on honeydew, may attract house flies, thereby increasing the risk of food crop contamination. House fly attraction to honeydew-contaminated plant material was evaluated using a laboratory bioassay. House flies were attracted to the following plant-pest-honeydew combinations: citrus mealybug on squash fruit, pea aphid on faba bean plants, whitefly on navel orange and grapefruit leaves, and combined citrus mealybug and cottony cushion scale on mandarin orange leaves. House flies were not attracted to field-collected samples of lerp psyllids on eucalyptus plants or aphids on crepe myrtle leaves. Fungi associated with field-collected honeydews were isolated and identified for further study as possible emitters of volatiles attractive to house flies. Two fungal species, Aureobasidium pullulans and Cladosporium cladosporioides, were repeatedly isolated from field-collected honeydew samples. Both fungal species were grown in potato dextrose enrichment broth and house fly attraction to volatiles from these fungal cultures was evaluated. House flies were attracted to odors from A. pullulans cultures but not to those of C. cladosporioides. Identification of specific honeydew odors that are attractive to house flies could be valuable for the development of improved house fly baits for management of this pest species.

Abstract: Aims Vitamin K antagonists (VKAs) need to be individually dosed. International guidelines recommend a target range of international normalised ratio (INR) of 2.0–3.0 for stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation (AF). We analysed the time in this therapeutic range (TTR) of VKA-treated patients with newly diagnosed AF in the ongoing, global, observational registry GARFIELD-AF. Taking TTR as a measure of the quality of patient management, we analysed its relationship with 1-year outcomes, including stroke/systemic embolism (SE), major bleeding, and all-cause mortality. Methods and Results TTR was calculated for 9934 patients using 136,082 INR measurements during 1-year follow-up. Abstract: House flies are of major concern as vectors of food-borne pathogens to food crops. House flies are common pests on cattle feedlots and dairies, where they develop in and feed on animal waste. By contacting animal waste, house flies can acquire human pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp., in addition to other bacteria, viruses, or parasites that may infect humans and animals. The subsequent dispersal of house flies from animal facilities to nearby agricultural fields containing food crops may lead to pre-harvest food contamination with these pathogens. We hypothesized that odors from honeydew, the sugary excreta produced by sucking insects feeding on crops, or molds and fungi growing on honeydew, may attract house flies, thereby increasing the risk of food crop contamination. House fly attraction to honeydew-contaminated plant material was evaluated using a laboratory bioassay. House flies were attracted to the following plant-pest-honeydew combinations: citrus mealybug on squash fruit, pea aphid on faba bean plants, whitefly on navel orange and grapefruit leaves, and combined citrus mealybug and cottony cushion scale on mandarin orange leaves. House flies were not attracted to field-collected samples of lerp psyllids on eucalyptus plants or aphids on crepe myrtle leaves. Fungi associated with field-collected honeydews were isolated and identified for further study as possible emitters of volatiles attractive to house flies. Two fungal species, Aureobasidium pullulans and Cladosporium cladosporioides, were repeatedly isolated from field-collected honeydew samples. Both fungal species were grown in potato dextrose enrichment broth and house fly attraction to volatiles from these fungal cultures was evaluated. House flies were attracted to odors from A. pullulans cultures but not to those of C. cladosporioides. Identification of specific honeydew odors that are attractive to house flies could be valuable for the development of improved house fly baits for management of this pest species.

Abstract: Noroviruses are major pathogens associated with acute gastroenteritis. They are diverse viruses, with at least six genogroups (GI-GVI) and multiple genotypes defined by differences in the major capsid protein, VP1. This diversity has challenged the development of broadly cross-reactive vaccines as well as efficient detection methods. Here, we report the characterization of a broadly cross-reactive monoclonal antibody (MAb) raised against the capsid protein of a GII.3 norovirus strain. The MAb reacted with VLPs and denatured VP1 protein from GI, GII, GIV and GV noroviruses, and mapped to a linear epitope located in the inner shell domain. An alignment of all available VP1 sequences showed that the putative epitope (residues 52-56) is highly conserved across the genus Norovirus. This broadly cross-reactive MAb thus constitutes a valuable reagent for the diagnosis and study of these diverse viruses.

Abstract: Prompted by the discovery of new gastrointestinal viruses, the NIH, NIAID and WHO investigated the etiology of acute diarrhea that occurred from 1976–1979 in a global cohort of infants and young children. Rotaviruses were found to be major pathogens worldwide, whereas the Norwalk virus could not be detected using a radioimmunoassay. The aim of this study is to re-evaluate the role and diversity of rotaviruses and noroviruses in the original cohort using more sensitive current technologies. Stools collected from Asia, Africa, and South America (n = 485) were evaluated for viral genotypes by RT-PCR and sequencing. Rotaviruses were detected in 28.9% and noroviruses in 9.7% of the specimens, with G1 rotaviruses and GII noroviruses accounting for the majority of each respective virus. Various strains in this study predated the currently assigned dates of discovery for their particular genotype, and in addition, two noroviruses (KL45 and T091) could not be assigned to current genotypes. Phylogenetic analyses demonstrated a relative constancy in circulating rotavirus genotypes over time, with several genotypes from this study becoming established in the current repertoire of viral species. Similarly, GII noroviruses have maintained dominance, with GII.4 noroviruses continuing as a predominant genotype over time. Taken together, the complex molecular epidemiology of rotaviruses and noroviruses circulating in the 1970’s is consistent with current patterns, an important consideration in the design of multivalent vaccines to control these viruses.

Abstract: Antibody prevalence studies in laboratory mice indicate that murine norovirus (MNV) infections are common, but the natural history of these viruses has not been fully established. This study examined the extent of genetic diversity of murine noroviruses isolated from healthy laboratory mice housed in multiple animal facilities within a single, large research institute- the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the National Institutes of Health (NIAID-NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland, U.S. Ten distinct murine norovirus strains were isolated from various tissues and feces of asymptomatic wild type sentinel mice as well as asymptomatic immunodeficient (RAG 2(-/-)) mice. The NIH MNV isolates showed little cytopathic effect in permissive RAW264.7 cells in early passages, but all isolates examined could be adapted to efficient growth in cell culture by serial passage. The viruses, although closely related in genome sequence, were distinguishable from each other according to facility location, likely due to the introduction of new viruses into each facility from separate sources or vendors at different times. Our study indicates that the murine noroviruses are widespread in these animal facilities, despite rigorous guidelines for animal care and maintenance.

Abstract: BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE:Interventions are needed to improve stroke literacy among recent stroke survivors. We developed an educational video for patients hospitalized with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). METHODS:A 5-minute stroke education video was shown to our AIS and ICH patients admitted from March to June 2015. Demographics and a 5-minute protocol Montreal Cognitive Assessment were also collected. Questions related to stroke knowledge, self-efficacy, and patient satisfaction were answered before, immediately after, and 30 days after the video. RESULTS:Among 250 screened, 102 patients consented, and 93 completed the video intervention. Abstract: Noroviruses are a major cause of acute gastroenteritis, but no vaccines or therapeutic drugs are available. Llama-derived single chain antibody fragments (also called VHH) are small, recombinant monoclonal antibodies of 15 kDa with several advantages over conventional antibodies. The aim of this study was to generate recombinant monoclonal VHH specific for the two major norovirus (NoV) genogroups (GI and GII) in order to investigate their potential as immunotherapy for the treatment of NoV diarrhea. To accomplish this objective, two llamas were immunized with either GI.1 (Norwalk-1968) or GII.4 (MD2004) VLPs. After immunization, peripheral blood lymphocytes were collected and used to generate two VHH libraries. Using phage display technology, 10 VHH clones specific for GI.1, and 8 specific for GII.4 were selected for further characterization. All VHH recognized conformational epitopes in the P domain of the immunizing VP1 capsid protein, with the exception of one GII.4 VHH that recognized a linear P domain epitope. The GI.1 VHHs were highly specific for the immunizing GI.1 genotype, with only one VHH cross-reacting with GI.3 genotype. The GII.4 VHHs reacted with the immunizing GII.4 strain and showed a varying reactivity profile among different GII genotypes. One VHH specific for GI.1 and three specific for GII.4 could block the binding of homologous VLPs to synthetic HBGA carbohydrates, saliva, and pig gastric mucin, and in addition, could inhibit the hemagglutination of red blood cells by homologous VLPs. The ability of Nov-specific VHHs to perform well in these surrogate neutralization assays supports their further development as immunotherapy for NoV treatment and immunoprophylaxis.

Abstract: The majority of colorectal cancer (CRC) cases are preventable by early detection and removal of precancerous polyps. Even though CRC is the second most common internal cancer in Australia, only 30 per cent of the population considered to have risk factors participate in stool-based test screening programs. Evidence indicates a robust, blood-based, diagnostic assay would increase screening compliance. A number of potential diagnostic blood-based protein biomarkers for CRC have been reported, but all lack sensitivity or specificity for use as a stand-alone diagnostic. The aim of this study was to identify and validate a panel of protein-based biomarkers in independent cohorts that could be translated to a reliable, non-invasive blood-based screening test.In two independent cohorts (n = 145 and n = 197), we evaluated seven single biomarkers in serum of CRC patients and age/gender matched controls that showed a significant difference between controls and CRC, but individually lack the sensitivity for diagnostic application. Using logistic regression strategies, we identified a panel of three biomarkers that discriminated between controls and CRC with 73% sensitivity at 95% specificity, when applied to either of the two cohorts. This panel comprised of Insulin like growth factor binding protein 2 (IGFBP2), Dickkopf-3 (DKK3), and Pyruvate kinase M2(PKM2).Due to the heterogeneous nature of CRC, a single biomarker is unlikely to have sufficient sensitivity or specificity for use as a stand-alone diagnostic screening test and a panel of markers may be more effective. We have identified a 3 biomarker panel that has higher sensitivity and specificity for early stage (Stage I and -II) disease than the faecal occult blood test, raising the possibility for its use as a non-invasive blood diagnostic or screening test.

Taken together, the complex molecular epidemiology of rotaviruses and noroviruses circulating in the 1970's is consistent with current patterns, an important consideration in the design of multivalent vaccines to control these viruses.

Abstract: Noroviruses are major pathogens associated with acute gastroenteritis. They are diverse viruses, with at least six genogroups (GI-GVI) and multiple genotypes defined by differences in the major capsid protein, VP1. This diversity has challenged the development of broadly cross-reactive vaccines as well as efficient detection methods. Here, we report the characterization of a broadly cross-reactive monoclonal antibody (MAb) raised against the capsid protein of a GII.3 norovirus strain. The MAb reacted with VLPs and denatured VP1 protein from GI, GII, GIV and GV noroviruses, and mapped to a linear epitope located in the inner shell domain. An alignment of all available VP1 sequences showed that the putative epitope (residues 52-56) is highly conserved across the genus Norovirus. This broadly cross-reactive MAb thus constitutes a valuable reagent for the diagnosis and study of these diverse viruses.

22. Polypyrimidine tract binding protein functions as a negative regulator of feline calicivirus translation.

Abstract: BACKGROUND:Positive strand RNA viruses rely heavily on host cell RNA binding proteins for various aspects of their life cycle. Such proteins interact with sequences usually present at the 5' or 3' extremities of the viral RNA genome, to regulate viral translation and/or replication. We have previously reported that the well characterized host RNA binding protein polypyrimidine tract binding protein (PTB) interacts with the 5'end of the feline calicivirus (FCV) genomic and subgenomic RNAs, playing a role in the FCV life cycle. PRINCIPAL FINDINGS:We have demonstrated that PTB interacts with at least two binding sites within the 5'end of the FCV genome. In vitro translation indicated that PTB may function as a negative regulator of FCV translation and this was subsequently confirmed as the translation of the viral subgenomic RNA in PTB siRNA treated cells was stimulated under conditions in which RNA replication could not occur. We also observed that PTB redistributes from the nucleus to the cytoplasm during FCV infection, partially localizing to viral replication complexes, suggesting that PTB binding may be involved in the switch from translation to replication. Reverse genetics studies demonstrated that synonymous mutations in the PTB binding sites result in a cell-type specific defect in FCV replication. CONCLUSIONS:Our data indicates that PTB may function to negatively regulate FCV translation initiation. To reconcile this with efficient virus replication in cells, we propose a putative model for the function of PTB in the FCV life cycle. It is possible that during the early stages of infection, viral RNA is translated in the absence of PTB, however, as the levels of viral proteins increase, the nuclear-cytoplasmic shuttling of PTB is altered, increasing the cytoplasmic levels of PTB, inhibiting viral translation. Whether PTB acts directly to repress translation initiation or via the recruitment of other factors remains to be determined but this may contribute to the stimulation of viral RNA replication via clearance of ribosomes from viral RNA.

The purpose of the current study was to perform a systematic assessment of cancers attributable to obesity and physical inactivity in Korea. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS: Gender- and cancer site-specific population-attributable fractions (PAF) were estimated using the prevalence of overweight and obesity in 1992-1995 from a large-scale prospective cohort study, the prevalence of low physical activity in 1989 from a Korean National Health Examination Survey, and pooled relative risk estimates from Korean epidemiological studies. The overall PAF was then estimated using 2009 national cancer incidence data from the Korea Central Cancer Registry. Excess body weight was responsible for 1,444 (1.5%) and 2,004 (2.2%) cancer cases among men and women, respectively, in 2009 in Korea. Among men, 6.8% of colorectal, 2.9% of pancreatic, and 16.0% of kidney cancer was attributable to excess body weight. In women, 6.6% of colorectal, 3.9% of pancreatic, 18.7% of kidney, 8.2% of postmenopausal breast, and 32.7% of endometrial cancer was attributable to excess body weight. Low leisure-time physical activity accounted for 8.8% of breast cancer, whereas the PAF for overall cancer was low (0.1% in men, 1.4% in women). Projections suggest that cancers attributable to obesity will increase by 40% in men and 16% in women by 2020. CONCLUSIONS/SIGNIFICANCE: With a significantly increasing overweight and physically inactive population, and increasing incidence of breast and colorectal cancers, Korea faces a large cancer burden attributable to these risk factors. Had the obese population of Korea remained stable, a large portion of obesity-related cancers could have been avoided. Efficient cancer prevention programs that aim to reduce obesity- and physical inactivity-related health problems are essential in Korea.

Abstract: Eicosanoids mediate insect immune responses and synthesized by the catalytic activity of phospholipase A2 (PLA2). A uniquely encoded secretory PLA2 (sPLA2) is associated with immune responses of a lepidopteran insect, Spodoptera exigua. Its deletion mutant was generated using a CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing technology. Both wild and mutant lines were then immune-challenged, and the resulting transcripts were compared with their naïve transcripts by RNASeq using the Illumina-HiSeq platform. In total, 12,878 unigenes were further analyzed by differentially expressed gene tools. Over 69% of the expressed genes in S. exigua larvae are modulated in their expression levels by eicosanoids, recorded from CRISPR/Cas9 mutagenesis against an eicosanoid-synthetic gene, Se-sPLA2. Further, about 36% of the immune-associated genes are controlled by the eicosanoids in S. exigua. Abstract: This work investigates whether inclusion of the low-frequency components of heart sounds can increase the accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis of cardiovascular disorders. We standardized the measurement method to minimize changes in signal characteristics. We used the Continuous Wavelet Transform to analyze changing frequency characteristics over time and to allocate frequencies appropriately between the low-frequency and audible frequency bands. We used a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and deep-learning (DL) for image classification, and a CNN equipped with long short-term memory to enable sequential feature extraction. The accuracy of the learning model was validated using the PhysioNet 2016 CinC dataset, then we used our collected dataset to show that incorporating low-frequency components in the dataset increased the DL model's accuracy by 2% and sensitivity by 4%. Abstract: Background: Lower income is associated with high incident cardiovascular disease (CVD) and mortality. CVD is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in cancer survivors. However, there is limited research on the association between income, CVD, and mortality in this population., Methods: This study utilized nationally representative data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), a cross-sectional survey evaluating the health and nutritional status of the US population. Our study included NHANES participants aged ≥20 years from 2003-2014, who self-reported a history of cancer. We evaluated the association between income level, prevalence of CVD, and all-cause mortality. All-cause mortality data was obtained through public use mortality files. Income level was assessed by poverty-income ratio (PIR) that was calculated by dividing family (or individual) income by poverty guideline. We used multivariable-adjusted Cox proportional hazard models through a backward elimination method to evaluate associations between PIR, CVD, and all-cause mortality in cancer survivors., Results: This cohort included 2,464 cancer survivors with a mean age of 62 (42% male) years. Compared with individuals with a higher PIR tertiles, those in the lowest PIR tertile had a higher rate of pre-existing CVD and post-acquired CVD. In participants with post-acquired CVD, the lowest PIR tertile had over two-fold increased risk mortality (Hazard Ratio (HR) = 2.17; 95% CI: 1.27-3.71) when compared to the highest PIR tertile. Additionally, we found that PIR was as strong a predictor of mortality in cancer survivors as CVD. In patients with no CVD, the lowest PIR tertile continued to have almost a two-fold increased risk of mortality (HR = 1.72; 95% CI: 1.69-4.35) when compared to a reference of the highest PIR tertile., Conclusions: In this large national study of cancer survivors, low PIR is associated with a higher prevalence of CVD. Low PIR is also associated with an increased risk of mortality in cancer survivors, showing a comparable impact to that of pre-existing and post-acquired CVD. Abstract: Periprosthetic tissue inflammation is a challenging complication arising in joint replacement surgeries, which is often caused by wear debris from polyethylene (PE) components. In this study, we examined the potential biological effects of grafting a [2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl]dimethyl-(3-sulfopropyl)ammonium hydroxide (MEDSAH) polymer onto the surface of PE through a solvent-evaporation technique. J774A.1 macrophage-like cells and primary cultured mouse osteoblasts were treated with PE powder with or without the MEDSAH coating. MEDSAH grafting on PE substantially reduced the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines and other mediators in primary cultured mouse osteoblasts, but did not significantly impact macrophage-mediated inflammation. Our findings suggest that a MEDSAH coating on PE-based materials has potential utility in mitigating periprosthetic tissue inflammation and osteolysis and preventing aseptic loosening in total joint replacements. Abstract: Cannabis-related emergency department visits have increased after legalization of cannabis for medical and recreational use. Accordingly, the incidence of emergency department visits due to cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome in patients with chronic cannabis use has also increased. The aim of this study was to examine trends of emergency department visit due to cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome in Nevada and evaluate factors associated with the increased risk for emergency department visit. The State Emergency Department Databases of Nevada between 2013 and 2021 were used for investigating trends of emergency department visits for cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome. We compared patients visiting the emergency department due to cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome with those visiting the emergency department due to other causes except cannabinoid hyperemesis and estimated the impact of cannabis commercialization for recreational use. Emergency department visits due to cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome have continuously increased during the study period. The number of emergency department visits per 100,000 was 1.07 before commercialization for recreational use. It increased to 2.22 per 100,000 (by approximately 1.1 per 100,000) after commercialization in the third quarter of 2017. Those with cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome were younger with fewer male patients than those without cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome. A substantial increase in emergency department visits due to cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome occurred in Nevada, especially after the commercialization of recreational cannabis. 29. Cumulative effect of metabolic syndrome on the risk of retinal vein occlusion in young patients: A nationwide population-based study.

Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the impact of the cumulative burden of metabolic syndrome (MetS) on the incidence of retinal vein occlusion (RVO) in young adults. We included 1,408,093 subjects aged ≥20 and <40 years without a history of RVO who underwent four consecutive annual health examinations during 2009-2012 from the database of the Korean National Health Insurance Service. The metabolic burden was evaluated based on the cumulative number of MetS diagnoses at each health examination (0-4 times) and the cumulative number of each MetS component diagnosed at each health examination (0-4 times per MetS component). Cox proportional hazards models were used to estimate the risk of RVO according to metabolic burden. The risk of RVO was positively correlated with the cumulative number of MetS diagnoses over the four health examinations. All five MetS components were independently associated with an increased risk of RVO. Subgroup analysis for the impact of MetS on RVO occurrence revealed that MetS had a greater impact on female subjects (P <0.001). 30. Risk factors of reattempt among suicide attempters in South Korea: A nationwide retrospective cohort study.

Abstract: This study aimed to identify underlying demographic and clinical characteristics among individuals who had previously attempted suicide, utilizing the comprehensive Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA) database. Data of patients aged 18 and above who had attempted suicide between January 1 and December 31, 2014, recorded in HIRA, were extracted. The index date was identified when a suicide attempt was made within the year 2014. The medical history of the three years before the index date and seven years of follow-up data after the index date were analyzed. Kaplan-Meier estimate was used to infer reattempt of the suicide attempters, and Cox-proportional hazard analysis was used to investigate risk factors associated with suicide reattempts. A total of 17,026 suicide attempters were identified, of which 1,853 (10.9%) reattempted suicide; 4,925 (28.9%) patients had been diagnosed with depressive disorder. Of the reattempters, 391 (21.1%) demonstrated a history of suicide attempts in the three years before the index date, and the mean number of prior attempts was higher compared to that of the non-reattempters (1.7 vs.1.3, p-value < 0.01). Prior psychiatric medication, polypharmacy, and an increase in the number of psychotropics were associated with suicide reattempt in overall suicide attempters. (Hazard ratio (HR) = 3.20, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 2.56-4.00; HR = 2.42, 95% CI = 1.87-3.14; HR = 19.66, 95% CI = 15.22-25.39 respectively). The risk of reattempt decreased in individuals receiving antidepressant prescriptions compared to those unmedicated, showing a reduction of 78% when prescribed by non-psychiatrists and 89% when prescribed by psychiatrists. Similar risk factors for suicide reattempts were observed in the depressive disorder subgroup, but the median time to reattempt was shorter (556.5 days) for this group compared to that for the overall attempters (578 days). Abstract: Two probiotic candidates, Lactobacillus reuteri C1 (C1) and Lactobacillus acidophilus C5 (C5), which were previously isolated from canines, were evaluated in the present study. L. reuteri and L. acidophilus have anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, immune-enhancing, and anti-cancer properties and exhibit various probiotic effects in humans and animals. The strains C1 and C5 demonstrated good tolerance to acid and bile salt exposure, exhibited effective adhesion to HT-29 cell monolayer, and displayed sensitivity to antibiotics, thus affirming their probiotic characteristics. Moreover, C1 and C5 exhibited the ability to downregulate the expression of inducible NO synthase (iNOS), an immunomodulatory factor, leading to a reduction in NO production in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. These strains also demonstrated potent anti-inflammatory effects in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells, achieved through the augmentation of anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 expression and the inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-1β expression. These anti-inflammatory effects of C1 and C5 were closely associated with the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway. Abstract: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease accompanied by neuroimmune inflammation in the frontal cortex and hippocampus. Recently, the presence of bacteria in AD-affected brains has been documented, prompting speculation about their potential role in AD-associated neuroinflammation. However, the characterization of bacteriota in human brains affected by AD remains inconclusive. This study aimed to investigate potential associations between specific bacteria and AD pathology by examining brain tissues from AD-associated neurodegenerative regions (frontal cortex and hippocampus) and the non-AD-associated hypothalamus. Employing 16S rRNA gene sequencing, 30 postmortem brain tissue samples from four individuals with normal brain histology (N) and four AD patients were analyzed, along with three blank controls. A remarkably low biomass characterized the brain bacteriota, with their overall structures delineated primarily by brain regions rather than the presence of AD. While most analyzed parameters exhibited no significant distinction in the brain bacteriota between the N and AD groups, the unique detection of Cloacibacterium normanense in the AD-associated neurodegenerative regions stood out. Additionally, infection-associated bacteria, as opposed to periodontal pathogens, were notably enriched in AD brains. Abstract: Honeybees require an efficient immune system to defend against microbial pathogens. The American foulbrood pathogen, Paenibacillus larvae, is lethal to honeybees and one of the main causes of colony collapse. This study investigated the immune responses of Apis mellifera and Apis cerana honeybees against the bacterial pathogen P. larvae. Both species of honeybee larvae exhibited significant mortality even at 102 103 cfu/mL of P. larvae by diet-feeding, although A. mellifera appeared to be more tolerant to the bacterial pathogen than A. cerana. Upon bacterial infection, the two honeybee species expressed both cellular and humoral immune responses. Hemocytes of both species exhibited characteristic spreading behaviors, accompanied by cytoskeletal extension along with F-actin growth, and formed nodules. Larvae of both species also expressed an antimicrobial peptide called apolipophorin III (ApoLpIII) in response to bacterial infection. However, these immune responses were significantly suppressed by a specific inhibitor to phospholipase A2 (PLA2). Each honeybee genome encodes four PLA2 genes (PLA2A ~ PLA2D), representing four orthologous combinations between the two species. In response to P. larvae infection, both species significantly up-regulated PLA2 enzyme activities and the expression of all four PLA2 genes. To determine the roles of the four PLA2s in the immune responses, RNA interference (RNAi) was performed by injecting gene-specific double stranded RNAs (dsRNAs). All four RNAi treatments significantly suppressed the immune responses, and specific inhibition of the two secretory PLA2s (PLA2A and PLA2B) potently suppressed nodule formation and ApoLpIII expression. These results demonstrate the cellular and humoral immune responses of A. mellifera and A. cerana against P. larvae. Abstract: Traditionally, datasets with multiple censored time-to-events have not been utilized in multivariate analysis because of their high level of complexity. In this paper, we propose the Censored Time Interval Analysis (CTIVA) method to address this issue. It estimates the joint probability distribution of actual event times in the censored dataset by implementing a statistical probability density estimation technique on the dataset. Based on the acquired event time, CTIVA investigates variables correlated with the interval time of events via statistical tests. The proposed method handles both categorical and continuous variables simultaneously-thus, it is suitable for application on real-world censored time-to-event datasets, which include both categorical and continuous variables. CTIVA outperforms traditional censored time-to-event data handling methods by 5% on simulation data. The average area under the curve (AUC) of the proposed method on the simulation dataset exceeds 0.9 under various conditions. Further, CTIVA yields novel results on National Sample Cohort Demo (NSCD) and proteasome inhibitor bortezomib dataset, a real-world censored time-to-event dataset of medical history of beneficiaries provided by the National Health Insurance Sharing Service (NHISS) and National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). Abstract: The current study is to examine the disparities in physical activity (PA), sedentary behavior (SB), and stress levels in Korean adolescents concerning changes in their perception of family economic status (ES) during COVID-19. Among a total of 6144 Korean adolescents aged 12 to 18, the participants were categorized into two groups based on their responses regarding changes in their family ES due to COVID-19: Declined ES (n = 3072) and Non-changed ES (n = 3072), with matching in terms of age, gender, and BMI. All variables were assessed using the 16th year (2020) of the Korean Youth Risk Behavior Survey. Statistical analyses were conducted using the SPSS 26.0 version, employing independent t-tests to examine anthropometrics' differences and multinominal logistic regression to predict the impact of perception of family ES on PA, SB, and stress while comparing the two groups. The significance level was set at α = 0.05. Adolescents in the Declined ES group were 1.2 times more likely to engage in MVPA for less than 420 mins/wk (OR = 1.16, p = 0.039), 1.7 times more likely to meet recommended muscular strength activities (i.e., ≥ 3 days/wk) (OR = 1.70, p < 0.001), 37% less likely to not meet recommended recreational sitting time (i.e., ≥ 840 mins/wk) (OR = 0.63, p < 0.01), and were 2.1 times more likely to experience very severe stress level than the Non-changed ES group (p < 0.001). These results shed light on the importance of promoting mental health care in adolescents, regardless of PA levels, for their well-being during potential future pandemics. Abstract: Inflammation plays a major role in the pathogenesis of chronic kidney disease (CKD), but the relationship between systemic inflammation and CKD-mineral bone disease is unclear. We aimed to investigate whether the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is related to abdominal aortic calcification (AAC) and bone mineral density (BMD) in dialysis patients. In this cross-sectional analysis using baseline data of a multicenter cohort, a total of 759 patients were divided into three groups according to NLR level, and the associations between NLR and Kauppila AAC score (AACS) and BMD were assessed. The highest tertile NLR group had more males, alcohol consumers, higher diabetes prevalence, and higher comorbidity index than the lowest tertile NLR group. Fasting glucose and C-reactive protein levels were higher, while serum albumin, serum iron, and lipid profiles except triglycerides were lower in the highest tertile group. AACS was significantly higher in the highest tertile group than in the lowest and middle tertile groups (p = 0.017), but the mean areal BMD and T-score of the lumbar spine and femur were not different between groups. NLR level was positively correlated with AACS in all aortic wall segments except L1 and L3 anterior. In multivariable logistic regression analysis, the highest tertile NLR group was independently associated with AAC (odds ratio 2.876, 95% confidence interval 1.250-6.619, p = 0.013) but was not associated with osteoporosis in the lumbar spine and femur after adjusting for confounding factors. Abstract: Liver transplantation is the most effective treatment option for patients with acute or chronic liver failure. However, the applicability and effectiveness of this modality are often limited by a shortage of donors, surgical complications, high medical costs, and the need for continuing immunosuppressive therapy. An alternative approach is liver cell transplantation. LIGHT (a member of the tumor necrosis factor superfamily) could be a promising candidate for promoting the differentiation of human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hBM-MSCs) into hepatocyte-like cells. In this study, we investigated the effect of LIGHT on hBM-MSC differentiation into hepatocyte-like cells. Our previous results showed that LIGHT receptor lymphotoxin-β receptor (LTβR) is constitutively expressed on the surface of hBM-MSCs. Upon treatment with recombinant human LIGHT (rhLIGHT), the phenotype of hBM-MSCs changed to round or polygonal cells. In addition, the cells exhibited high levels of hepatocyte-specific markers, including albumin, cytokeratin-18 (CK-18), CK-19, cytochrome P450 family 1 subfamily A member 1 (CYP1A1), CYP1A2, CYP3A4, SRY-box transcription factor 17 (SOX17), and forkhead box A2 (FOXA2). These results indicate that rhLIGHT enhances the differentiation of hBM-MSCs into functional hepatocyte-like cells. Furthermore, rhLIGHT-induced hepatocyte-like cells showed a higher ability to store glycogen and uptake indocyanine green compared with control cells, indicating functional progression. Additionally, treatment with rhLIGHT increased the number, viability, and proliferation of cells by inducing the S/G2/M phase and upregulating the expression of various cyclin and cyclin dependent kinase (CDK) proteins. We also found that the hepatogenic differentiation of hBM-MSCs induced by rhLIGHT was mediated by the activation of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) and STAT5 pathways. Overall, our findings suggest that LIGHT plays an essential role in promoting the hepatogenic differentiation of hBM-MSCs. Abstract: The Wnt/β-catenin pathway is known to be frequently dysregulated in various human malignancies. Alterations in the genes encoding the components of Wnt/β-catenin pathway have also been described in lung adenocarcinoma. Notably however, the clinical impacts of Wnt/β-catenin pathway alterations in lung adenocarcinoma have not been fully evaluated to date. We here investigated the prognostic implications of single gene variations in 174 cases of surgically resected lung adenocarcinoma tested using targeted next-generation sequencing. Screening of the prognostic impact of single gene alterations identified an association between CTNNB1 mutation and poor recurrence-free survival in EGFR-mutant LUADs. Based on these results, the entire cohort was stratified into three groups in accordance with the mutational status of Wnt/β-catenin pathway genes (i.e. oncogenic CTNNB1 mutation [CTNNB1-ONC], other Wnt/β-catenin pathway gene mutations [Wnt/β-catenin-OTHER], and wild type for Wnt/β-catenin pathway genes [Wnt/β-catenin-WT]). The clinicopathologic characteristics and survival outcomes of these groups were then compared. Oncogenic CTNNB1 and other Wnt/β-catenin pathway gene mutations were identified in 10 (5.7%) and 14 cases (8.0%), respectively. The CTNNB1-ONC group cases displayed histopathologic features of conventional non-mucinous adenocarcinoma with no significant differences from those of the other groups. Using β-catenin immunohistochemistry, we found that the CTNNB1-ONC group displayed aberrant nuclear staining more frequently, but only in 60% of the samples. The LUADs harboring a CTNNB1-ONC exhibited significantly poorer RFS outcomes than the other groups, regardless of the β-catenin IHC status. This was a pronounced finding in the EGFR-mutant LUADs only in subgroup analysis, which was then confirmed by multivariate analysis. Nevertheless, no significant OS differences between these Wnt/β-catenin groups were evident. Hence, oncogenic CTNNB1 mutations may be found in about 6% of lung adenocarcinomas and may predict post-operative recurrence in EGFR-mutant LUADs. PCNA forms a homotrimer and interacts with various proteins, such as DNA polymerases, DNA ligase I (LIG1), and flap endonuclease 1 (FEN1) for faithful DNA replication. Here, we identify the crucial role of Ser46-Leu47 residues of PCNA in maintaining genomic integrity using in vitro, and cell-based assays and structural prediction. The predicted PCNAΔSL47 structure shows the potential distortion of the central loop and reduced hydrophobicity. PCNAΔSL47 shows a defective interaction with PCNAWT leading to defects in homo-trimerization in vitro. PCNAΔSL47 is defective in the FEN1 and LIG1 interaction. PCNA ubiquitination and DNA-RNA hybrid processing are defective in PCNAΔSL47-expressing cells. Abstract: As of 2022, COVID-19, first reported in Wuhan, China, in November 2019, has become a worldwide epidemic, causing numerous infections and casualties and enormous social and economic damage. To mitigate its impact, various COVID-19 prediction studies have emerged, most of them using mathematical models and artificial intelligence for prediction. However, the problem with these models is that their prediction accuracy is considerably reduced when the duration of the COVID-19 outbreak is short. In this paper, we propose a new prediction method combining Word2Vec and the existing long short-term memory and Seq2Seq + Attention model. We compare the prediction error of the existing and proposed models with the COVID-19 prediction results reported from five US states: California, Texas, Florida, New York, and Illinois. The results of the experiment show that the proposed model combining Word2Vec and the existing long short-term memory and Seq2Seq + Attention achieves better prediction results and lower errors than the existing long short-term memory and Seq2Seq + Attention models. Abstract: Vaginal colonization with lactobacilli has been linked to the health of the lower urinary tract in women. There is growing evidence that the bladder has its microbiome related closely to the vagina. In this study, we compared the three common vaginal Lactobacillus species (L. jensenii, L. iners and L. crispatus) in vaginal and urine samples to identify factors that influence urinary detection and the quantity of Lactobacillus. We used quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) assays to measure the concentration of Lactobacillus jensenii, L. iners and L. crispatus in paired vaginal swabs and clean-catch urine samples from pre-and post-menopausal women. We compared demographic variables and vaginal Lactobacillus quantity between women with vaginal detection of at least one of the three species, detection in both vagina and urine, or urine only. We performed Spearman correlation between vaginal and urinary quantities of each species. We used multivariable logistic regression models to determine predictors of detectable Lactobacillus species in both samples (vs. vagina only or urine only). Models were adjusted for variables selected a priori: age, BMI, condom use, and recent sexual activity. Ninety-three paired vaginal fluid, and urine samples were included in the final analysis. 44 (47%) had no detectable Lactobacillus species in their urine samples, and 49 (53%) had at least one of the three Lactobacillus species (L. jensenii, L. iners and L. crispatus) detected in urine. Most women were white (91.4%), with a mean age of 39.8 ±13.8 years. The two groups were similar in demographics, gynecologic history, sexual history, recent use of antibiotics or probiotics within 7 days of sample collection, Nugent scores, and urine-specific gravity. Among the three Lactobacillus species, L. jensenii was more commonly detected in urine than the other two. For all three species, detection in the urine sample alone was infrequent. The concentrations of all three species were higher in vaginal samples than in urine samples. For all three Lactobacillus spp., vaginal abundance was associated with the urinary abundance of the same species even after adjusting for the Nugent score. In Spearman correlation analysis, urinary and vaginal Lactobacillus concentrations were positively correlated within the same species, with the most significant correlation coefficient for L. jensenii (R = 0.43, p<0.0001). Vaginal quantities were positively correlated between the three species, as were urinary quantities to a lesser extent. There was no meaningful correlation between the urinary quantity of one Lactobacillus sp. and the vaginal quantity of another species. In summary, the vaginal quantity of Lactobacillus was the most significant predictor of concurrent detection of the same species in the bladder, confirming the close relationship between these environments. 42. A push-pull strategy to control the western flower thrips, Frankliniella occidentalis, using alarm and aggregation pheromones.

Abstract: Since the first report in 1993 in Korea, the western flower thrips, Frankliniella occidentalis, has been found in various crops throughout the country. Although more than 20 different chemical insecticides are registered to control this insect pest, its outbreaks seriously damage crop yields, especially in greenhouses. This study developed a non-chemical technique to control F. occidentalis infesting hot peppers cultivated in greenhouses. The method was based on behavioral control using an alarm pheromone ("Push") to prevent the entry of the thrips into greenhouses and an aggregation pheromone ("Pull") for mass trapping inside the greenhouses. The greenhouse fences were treated with a wax formulation of the alarm pheromone and a yellow CAN trap covered with sticky material containing the aggregation pheromone was constructed and deployed inside the greenhouses. Field assay demonstrated the efficacy of the push-pull tactics by reducing thrips density in flowers of the hot peppers as well as in the monitoring traps. Especially, the enhanced mass trapping to the CAN trap compared to the conventional yellow sticky trap led to significant reduction in the thrips population. 43. Long-term use of clopidogrel versus ticagrelor or prasugrel in patients with acute myocardial infarction after percutaneous coronary intervention.

Abstract: Background and Objectives: To compare the long-term clinical outcomes of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) with clopidogrel and DAPT with ticagrelor or prasugrel in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) who underwent coronary intervention., Methods: Between November 2011 and December 2015, a total of 13,104 patients with AMI were enrolled in the Korea Acute Myocardial Infarction Registry-National Institutes of Health (KAMIR-NIH) registry. Among them, 4,696 patients who received DAPT for more than 24 months were categorized into two groups: the clopidogrel group (n = 4,053) and ticagrelor or prasugrel group (n = 643). Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to reduce the bias due to confounding variables. Following PSM, the impacts of P2Y12 inhibitors on the clinical outcomes in both groups were compared during a 36-month clinical follow-up period., Results: There were no significant differences in clinical outcomes in terms of cardiac death (7.1% vs. 9.7%, p = 0.101), stroke (1.4% vs. 1.0%, p = 0.436), major bleeding (0.5% vs. 0.8%, p = 0.478), major adverse cardiac events (MACE) (21.6% vs. 20.5%, p = 0.626), and net adverse cardiac event (NACE) (22.1% vs. 21.3%, p = 0.731) between the groups. The ticagrelor or prasugrel group had a lower incidence of recurrent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) (12.2% vs. 7.6%, p = 0.006) than the clopidogrel group. However, no differences were observed in the cumulative incidences of 3-year NACE between the ticagrelor or prasugrel and clopidogrel groups., Conclusions: Cumulative incidences of long-term NACE did not differ between the two groups. Abstract: Background: Symptom monitoring application (SMA) has clinical benefits to cancer patients but patients experience difficulties in using it. Few studies have identified which types of graphical user interface (GUI) are preferred by cancer patients for using the SMA., Methods: This is a cross-sectional study aimed to identify preferred GUI among cancer patients to use SMA. Total of 199 patients were asked to evaluate 8 types of GUIs combining text, icon, illustration, and colors using mixed-methods. Subgroup analyses were performed according to age and gender., Results: The mean age of the patients was 57 and 42.5% was male. The most preferred GUI was "Text + Icon + Color" (mean = 4.43), followed by "Text + Icon" (mean = 4.39). Older patients (≥ 60 years) preferred "Text + Icon" than younger patients (p for interaction < 0.01). Simple and intuitive text and icons were the most useful GUI for cancer patients to use the SMA., Conclusion: Simple and intuitive text and icons were the most useful GUI for cancer patients to use the SMA. 45. Did Massachusetts COVID-19 vaccine lottery increase vaccine uptake?

Abstract: Objective: We evaluated whether the Massachusetts COVID-19 vaccine lottery increased vaccine uptake., Methods: We analyzed data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker to identify total number of adults aged 18 to 64 who received at least first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine or who were fully vaccinated in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and Vermont during the study period of March 6 -July 31, 2021. Each of the five states contributed 148 days of a daily report on cumulative number of vaccinated people, comprising 740 state-days as the total sample size. We conducted multivariable, state-day level difference-in-differences (DID) regression using a negative binomial regression model that compared the change in outcomes for Massachusetts to those of four geographically adjacent comparison states without the lotteries, before and after the Massachusetts vaccine lottery announcement (June 15, 2021). Abstract: Objective: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and extent of dental developmental complications in patients who have undergone pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (SCT) and identify the risk factors., Materials and Methods: We retrospectively investigated the clinical data warehouse of the Catholic Medical Center information system for identifying patients who: 1) visited the Department of Pediatrics between 2009 and 2019, 2) underwent SCT under the age of 10, and 3) had panoramic radiographs. Thus 153 patients were included in this study. The prevalence and extent of tooth agenesis, microdontia, and root malformation were assessed using panoramic radiographs obtained after SCT, and the risk factors were analyzed using regression analysis., Results: All 153 patients had at least one dental anomaly. When grouped according to the age at initial chemotherapy (≤ 2.5; 2.6-5.0; 5.1-7.5; > 7.5 years), the prevalence of agenesis showed statistically significant differences among the different age groups (P < 0.001). The prevalence of agenesis was highest in the youngest age group. As the initial age at chemotherapy increased, the number of affected teeth per patient decreased for all three anomalies. The location of the affected tooth was also influenced by the age at initial chemotherapy. Regression analysis demonstrated that young age at initial chemotherapy was a risk-increasing factor for tooth agenesis and microdontia., Conclusions: The age at initial chemotherapy may be a critical factor in determining the type, extent, and location of dental complications after SCT. Abstract: Background: After gastrectomy, patients may experience the postgastrectomy syndrome and face difficulties adapting to everyday diet. Recently, human health coaching via a mobile application (app) has been used for obese patients or patients with chronic diseases, with significant improvements in clinical outcomes. The aim of this study is to evaluate and compare the effects of human health coaching via a mobile app and conventional face-to-face counseling in patients who underwent gastrectomy for gastric cancers., Methods: This study is a single-institution, prospective randomized controlled trial comparing the mobile health and face-to-face counselling groups. After randomization, participants assigned to the mobile health coaching group will receive health coaching via a mobile app for 3 months after discharge, and the assigned coaches will provide personalized advice based on the self-recorded health data. Participants in the face-to-face group will have 1- and 3-months postoperative dietary consultations with a clinical dietitian. The primary endpoint is the food restriction score on the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire-STO22, and secondary endpoints included all other quality of life scale scores and nutritional parameters. The calculated sample size is 180, and the outcomes will be measured until 1-year post-surgery., Significance: This study will show the efficacy of human health coaching via a mobile app on dietary adaptation in patients who underwent gastrectomy. 48. Hi-LASSO: High-performance python and apache spark packages for feature selection with high-dimensional data.

Abstract: High-dimensional LASSO (Hi-LASSO) is a powerful feature selection tool for high-dimensional data. Our previous study showed that Hi-LASSO outperformed the other state-of-the-art LASSO methods. However, the substantial cost of bootstrapping and the lack of experiments for a parametric statistical test for feature selection have impeded to apply Hi-LASSO for practical applications. In this paper, the Python package and its Spark library are efficiently designed in a parallel manner for practice with real-world problems, as well as providing the capability of the parametric statistical tests for feature selection on high-dimensional data. We demonstrate Hi-LASSO's outperformance with various intensive experiments in a practical manner. Hi-LASSO will be efficiently and easily performed by using the packages for feature selection. 49. No effect of a dairy-based, high flavonoid pre-workout beverage on exercise-induced intestinal injury, permeability, and inflammation in recreational cyclists: A randomized controlled crossover trial.

Abstract: Background: Submaximal endurance exercise has been shown to cause elevated gastrointestinal permeability, injury, and inflammation, which may negatively impact athletic performance and recovery. Preclinical and some clinical studies suggest that flavonoids, a class of plant secondary metabolites, may regulate intestinal permeability and reduce chronic low-grade inflammation. Consequently, the purpose of this study was to determine the effects of supplemental flavonoid intake on intestinal health and cycling performance., Materials and Methods: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial was conducted with 12 cyclists (8 males and 4 females). Subjects consumed a dairy milk-based, high or low flavonoid (490 or 5 mg) pre-workout beverage daily for 15 days. At the end of each intervention, a submaximal cycling trial (45 min, 70% VO2max) was conducted in a controlled laboratory setting (23°C), followed by a 15-minute maximal effort time trial during which total work and distance were determined. Plasma samples were collected pre- and post-exercise (0h, 1h, and 4h post-exercise). The primary outcome was intestinal injury, assessed by within-subject comparison of plasma intestinal fatty acid-binding protein. Prior to study start, this trial was registered at ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT03427879)., Results: A significant time effect was observed for intestinal fatty acid binding protein and circulating cytokines (IL-6, IL-10, TNF-α). No differences were observed between the low and high flavonoid treatment for intestinal permeability or injury. The flavonoid treatment tended to increase cycling work output (p = 0.051), though no differences were observed for cadence or total distance., Discussion: Sub-chronic supplementation with blueberry, cocoa, and green tea in a dairy-based pre-workout beverage did not alleviate exercise-induced intestinal injury during submaximal cycling, as compared to the control beverage (dairy-milk based with low flavonoid content)., Competing Interests: The authors have declared that no competing interests exist., (Copyright: © 2022 Kung et al. 50. The impact of migraine and probable migraine on productivity loss in Korea: A cross-sectional online survey.

Abstract: Migraine is an enormous burden on society, but relevant studies are limited. The population of interest of this study was migraine or probable migraine (PM) in Korea. In this population, we aimed to assess the productivity loss through the level of severity defined by monthly migraine days (MMD) and analgesic frequency and to estimate costs and associated factors of productivity loss. We conducted an online survey of adults with migraine symptoms. We defined migraine and PM using the modified International Classification of Headache Disorders, second edition. Severity level was defined by subgroups of MMD (0-3, 4-14, and ≥15 days) and analgesic frequency (0, 1, 2, 3, and ≥4 per week). Productivity loss was assessed using the Work Productivity and Activity Impairment questionnaire and consisted of absenteeism, presenteeism, overall work productivity loss, and activity impairment. The costs of productivity loss due to absenteeism and presenteeism were calculated in 2020 USD. We used negative binomial regression to identify the factors associated with the costs of productivity loss. We identified 362 respondents with migraine or PM. Mean age was 41.7 years, 75.7% were female (N = 274), and 73.2% (N = 265) were employed. On average, productivity losses due to absenteeism and presenteeism were 8.1% and 39.7%, respectively. As MMD increased, there was a trend toward increased activity impairment, presenteeism, and overall work productivity loss. The mean overall productivity loss cost was USD 44.61 per person per day. Duration of migraine attacks was significantly associated with higher absenteeism costs. The results of this study indicate that the higher the MMD, the greater the productivity loss in patients with migraine or PM in Korea. We also found that patients with low-frequency migraine and PM experienced substantial productivity loss.
