Abstract: We present constraints on the angle γ of the unitarity triangle with a Dalitz analysis of neutral D decays to KSπ+π- from the processes B0→D̄0K*0 (B̄0→D0K̄*0) and B0→D0K*0 (B̄0→D̄0K̄*0) with K*0→K+π- (K̄*0→K-π+). Using a sample of 371×106 BB̄ pairs collected with the BABAR detector at PEP-II, we constrain the angle γ as a function of rS, the magnitude of the average ratio between b→u and b→c amplitudes. © 2009 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We use a sample of 384×106 BB̄ events collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- collider to study angular distributions in the rare decays B→K* + -, where + - is either e+e- or μ+μ-. For low dilepton invariant masses, m 3.2GeV/c2, we measure AFB=0.76-0.32+0.52±0.07 and FL=0.71-0.22+0.20±0.04. © 2009 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We report a Dalitz-plot analysis of the charmless hadronic decays of neutral B mesons to K±ππ0. With a sample of (231.8±2.6) ×106Υ(4S)→BB̄ decays collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at SLAC, we measure the magnitudes and phases of the intermediate resonant and nonresonant amplitudes for B0 and B̄0 decays and determine the corresponding CP-averaged branching fractions and charge asymmetries. The inclusive branching fraction and CP-violating charge asymmetry are measured to be B(B0→K+π-π0)=(35.7-1.5+2.6±2.2) ×10-6 and ACP=-0.030-0.051+0.045±0.055 where the first errors are statistical and the second systematic. We observe the decay B0→K* 0(892)π0 with the branching fraction B(B0→K*0(892)π0)=(3.6-0. 8+0.7±0.4)×10-6. This measurement differs from zero by 5.6 standard deviations (including the systematic uncertainties). The selected sample also contains B0→D̄0π0 decays where D̄0→K+π-, and we measure B(B0→D̄0π0)=(2.93±0.17±0.18)×10-4. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: Using 385fb-1 of e+e- collision data collected at center-of-mass energies around 10.6 GeV, we search for time-integrated CP violation in the Cabibbo-suppressed decays D0/D̄0→π-π+π0 and D0/D̄0→K-K+π0 with both model-independent and model-dependent methods. Measurements of the asymmetries in amplitudes of flavor states and CP eigenstates provide constraints on theories beyond the standard model, some of which predict CP violation in amplitudes at the 1% level or higher. We find no evidence of CP violation and hence no conflict with the standard model. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: The properties of the Ξ(1530) resonance are investigated in the Λc+→Ξ-π+K+ decay process. The data sample was collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider operating at center-of-mass energies 10.58 and 10.54 GeV. The corresponding integrated luminosity is approximately 230fb-1. The spin of the Ξ(1530) is established to be 3/2. The existence of an S-wave amplitude in the Ξ-π+ system is inferred, and its interference with the Ξ(1530)0 amplitude provides the first clear demonstration of the Breit-Wigner phase motion expected for the Ξ(1530). The P1(cos θΞ-) Legendre polynomial moment indicates the presence of a significant S-wave amplitude for Ξ-π+ mass values above 1.6GeV/c2, and a dip in the mass distribution at approximately 1.7GeV/c2 is interpreted as due to the coherent addition of a Ξ(1690)0 contribution to this amplitude. This would imply JP=1/2- for the Ξ(1690). Attempts at fitting the Ξ(1530)0 line shape yield unsatisfactory results, and this failure is attributed to interference effects associated with the amplitudes describing the K+π+ and/or Ξ-K+ systems. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We report on an improved measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa CP-violating phase γ through a Dalitz plot analysis of neutral D meson decays to KS0π+π- and KS0K+K- produced in the processes B →DK, B →D*K with D*→Dπ0, Dγ, and B →DK* with K* →KS0π. Using a sample of 383×106 BB̄ pairs collected by the BABAR detector, we measure γ=(76±22±5±5)° (mod 180°), where the first error is statistical, the second is the experimental systematic uncertainty, and the third reflects the uncertainty on the description of the Dalitz plot distributions. The corresponding 2-standard-deviation region is 29°

Abstract: We report the measurement of the branching fractions of the rare decays B0→Ds(*)+π-, B0→Ds(*)+ρ-, and B0→Ds(*)- K(*)+ in a sample of 381×106Υ(4S) decays into BB̄ pairs collected with the BA?B?AR? detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- storage ring. We present evidence for the decay B0→Ds-K*+ and the vector-vector decays B0→Ds*+ρ- and B0→Ds*-K*+, as well as the first measurement of the vector meson polarization in these decays. We also determine the ratios of the CKM-suppressed to CKM-favored amplitudes r(D(*)π) and r(D(*)ρ) in decays B0→D(*)±π and B0→D(*)±ρ, and comment on the prospects for measuring the CP observable sin (2β+γ). © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present a measurement of D0-D̄0 mixing parameters using the ratios of lifetimes extracted from a sample of D0 mesons produced through the process D*+→D0π+, which decay to K-π+, K-K+, or π-π+. The lifetimes of the CP-even, Cabibbo-suppressed modes K-K+ and π-π+ are compared with that of the CP-mixed, Cabibbo-favored mode K-π+ to obtain a measurement of yCP, which in the limit of CP conservation corresponds to the mixing parameter y. The analysis is based on a data sample of 384fb-1 collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We obtain yCP=[1.24±0.39(stat)±0.13(syst)]%, which is evidence for D0-D̄0 mixing at the 3σ level, and ΔY=[-0.26±0.36(stat) ±0.08(syst)]%, where ΔY constrains possible CP violation. Combining this result with a previous BABAR measurement of yCP obtained from a separate sample of D0→K-K+ events, we obtain yCP=[1.03±0.33(stat)±0. 19(syst)]%. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We report a Dalitz-plot analysis of the charmless hadronic decays of charged B mesons to the final state K±ππ±. Using a sample of (383.2±4.2)×106 BB̄ pairs collected by the BABAR detector, we measure CP-averaged branching fractions and direct CP asymmetries for intermediate resonant and nonresonant contributions. We find evidence for direct CP violation in the decay B±→ρ0(770)K±, with a CP-violation parameter ACP=(+44±10±4-13+5)%. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: Using 230×106 BB̄ events recorded with the BABAR detector at the e+e- storage rings PEP-II, we reconstruct approximately 4100 B0→J/ψK+π- and 9930 B+→J/ψK+ decays with J/ψ→μ+μ- and e+e-. From the measured B-momentum distributions in the e+e- rest frame, we determine the mass difference m(B0)-m(B+)=(+0. 33±0.05±0.03)MeV/c2. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: The τ-→ηπ-π+π-ντ decay with the η→γγ mode is studied using 384fb-1 of data collected by the BABAR detector. The branching fraction is measured to be (1.60±0. 05±0.11)×10-4. It is found that τ-→f1(1285)π- ντ→ηπ-π+π-ντ is the dominant decay mode with a branching fraction of (1.11±0.06±0.05)×10-4. The first error on the branching fractions is statistical and the second systematic. Note that no particle identification algorithm is applied to the charged tracks to distinguish pions from kaons. In addition, a 90% confidence level upper limit on the branching fraction of the τ-→η′(958)π-ντ decay is measured to be 7.2×10-6. This last decay proceeds through a second-class current and is expected to be forbidden in the limit of isospin symmetry. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present a study of the decay B-→D(CP)0K- and its charge conjugate, where D(CP)0 is reconstructed in both a non-CP flavor eigenstate and in CP (CP-even and CP-odd) eigenstates, based on a sample of 382 million Υ(4S)→BB̄ decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- storage ring. We measure the direct CP asymmetries ACP± and the ratios of the branching fractions RCP±: ACP+=0.27±0.09(stat) ±0.04(syst), ACP-=-0.09±0.09(stat)±0.02(syst), RCP+=1.06±0.10(stat)±0.05(syst), RCP-=1.03±0.10(stat) ±0.05(syst). We also express the results in terms of the so-called Cartesian coordinates x+, x-, and r2: x+=-0.09±0.05(stat)±0. 02(syst), x-=0.10±0.05(stat)±0.03(syst), r2=0.05±0.07(stat) ±0.03(syst). These results will help to better constrain the phase parameter γ=arg (-VudVub*/VcdVcb*) of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi- Maskawa quark mixing matrix. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present measurements of the decays B+→X(3872)K+ and B0→X(3872)K0 with X(3872)→J/ψπ+π-. The data sample used, collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- asymmetric-energy storage ring, corresponds to 455×106BB̄ pairs. Branching fraction measurements of B(B+→X(3872)K+)×B(X(3872)→J/ψπ+π-)=(8. 4±1.5±0.7)×10-6 and B(B0→X(3872)K0)×B(X(3872) →J/ψπ+π-)=(3.5±1.9±0.4)×10-6 are obtained. Abstract: This paper reports measurements of processes: e+e- →γKS0K±π, e+e-→γK+K-π0, e+e-→γ η, and e+e-→γ π0. The initial-state radiated photon allows to cover the hadronic final state in the energy range from thresholds up to ≈4.6GeV. The overall size of the data sample analyzed is 232fb-1, collected by the BABAR detector running at the PEP-II e+e- storage ring. From the Dalitz plot analysis of the KS0K±π final state, moduli, and relative phase of the isoscalar and the isovector components of the e+e-→KK*(892) cross section are determined. Parameters of and ρ recurrences are also measured, using a global fitting procedure which exploits the interconnection among amplitudes, moduli, and phases of the e+e-→KS0K±π, K+K-π0, η final states. Abstract: We present searches for the leptonic decays B+→ℓ+ν and the lepton flavor violating decays B0→ℓ±τ, where ℓ=e, μ, with data collected by the BABAR experiment at SLAC. This search demonstrates a novel technique in which we fully reconstruct the accompanying B̄ in Υ(4S)→BB̄ events, and look for a monoenergetic lepton from the signal B decay. The signal yield is extracted from a fit to the signal lepton candidate momentum distribution in the signal B rest frame. Using a data sample of approximately 378×106 BB̄ pairs (342fb-1), we find no evidence of signal in any of the decay modes. Branching fraction upper limits of B(B+→e+ν)

Abstract: We present for the first time a measurement of the weak phase 2β+γ obtained from a time-dependent Dalitz plot analysis of B0→D K0π± decays. Using a sample of approximately 347×106 BB̄ pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy storage rings and assuming the ratio r of the b→u and b→c decay amplitudes to be 0.3, we obtain 2β+γ=(83±53±20)° and the equivalent solution at +180°. The magnitudes and phases for the resonances associated with the b→c transitions are also extracted from the fit. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present a measurement of the branching fraction and photon-energy spectrum for the decay B→Xsγ using data from the BABAR experiment. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 210fb-1, from which approximately 680000 BB̄ events are tagged by a fully reconstructed hadronic decay of one of the B mesons. In the decay of the second B meson, an isolated high-energy photon is identified. We measure B(B→Xsγ)=(3. 66±0.85stat±0.60syst)×10-4 for photon energies Eγ above 1.9GeV in the B rest frame. From the measured spectrum we calculate the first and second moments for different minimum photon energies, which are used to extract the heavy-quark parameters mb and μπ2. In addition, measurements of the direct CP asymmetry and isospin asymmetry are presented. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present a combined measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |Vcb| and of the parameters ρ2, R1(1), and R2(1), which fully characterize the form factors for the B0→D*- +ν decay in the framework of heavy-quark effective field theory. The results, based on a selected sample of about 52800 B0→D*- +ν decays, recorded by the BABAR detector, are ρ2=1.157±0.094±0.027, R1(1)=1. 327±0.131±0.043, R2(1)=0.859±0.077±0.021, and F(1)|Vcb|=(34.7±0.4±1.0)×10-3. The first error is the statistical and the second is the systematic uncertainty. Combining these measurements with the previous BABAR measurement of the form factors, which employs a different fit technique on a partial sample of the data, we improve the statistical precision of the result, ρ2=1.191±0.048±0.028, R1(1)=1.429±0.061±0.044, R2(1)=0.827±0.038±0.022, and F(1)|Vcb|=(34.4±0.3±1.1)×10-3. Using lattice calculations for the axial form factor F(1), we extract |Vcb|=(37.4±0. 3±1.2±1.41.2)×10-3, where the third error is due to the uncertainty in F(1). We also present a measurement of the exclusive branching fraction, B=(4.69±0.04±0.34)%. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We report measurements of B-meson decays into two- and three-body final states containing two charmed baryons using a sample of 230×106 Υ(4S)→BB̄ decays. We find significant signals in two modes, measuring branching fractions B(B-→Λc+Λ̄c-K-)=(1. 14±0.15±0.17±0.60)×10-3 and B(B- →Ξc0Λ̄c-)×B(Ξc0→Ξ-π+)=(2.08±0. 65±0.29±0.54)×10-5, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and from the branching fraction B(Λc+→pK-π+), respectively. We also set upper limits at the 90% confidence level on two other modes: B(B̄0→Ξc+Λ̄c-)×B(Ξc+→Ξ- π+π+)

Abstract: We present a measurement of the time-dependent CP-violating asymmetries in B0→KS0π0 decays based on 383×106 Υ(4S)→BB̄ events collected by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. We measure the direct CP-violating asymmetry CKS0π0=0.24±0.15±0.03 and the CP-violating asymmetry in the interference between mixing and decay SKS0π0=0.40±0. 23±0.03, where the first errors are statistical and the second are systematic. On the same sample, we measure the decay branching fraction, obtaining B(B0→K0π0)=(10.3±0.7±0.6)×10-6. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present a study of resonances in exclusive decays of B mesons to D̄(*)D(*)K. We report the observation of the decays B→D̄(*)Ds1+(2536) where the Ds1+(2536) is reconstructed in the D*0K+ and D*+KS0 decay channels. We report also the observation of the decays B→ψ(3770)K where the ψ(3770) decays to D̄0D0 and D-D+. In addition, we present the observation of an enhancement for the D̄*0D0 invariant mass in the decays B→D̄*0D0K, at a mass of (3875.1-0.5+0.7±0.5)MeV/c2 with a width of (3.0-1.4+1.9±0. 9)MeV (the first errors are statistical and the second are systematic). Branching fractions and spin studies are shown for the three resonances. The results are based on 347fb-1 of data collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II B factory. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present a search for the decay B+→τ+ν using 383×106 BB̄ pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II B Factory. We select a sample of events with one completely reconstructed tag B in a hadronic decay mode (B-→D(*)0X-), and examine the rest of the event to search for a B+→τ+ν decay. We identify the τ lepton in the following modes: τ+→e+νν̄, τ+→μ+νν̄, τ+→π+ν̄, and τ+→π+π0ν̄. We find a 2.2σ excess in data and measure a branching fraction of B(B+→τ+ν)=(1.8-0.8+0.9(stat.) ±0.4(bkg.syst.)±0.2(othersyst.))×10-4. We calculate the product of the B meson decay constant fB and |Vub| to be fB•|Vub|=(10.1-2. 5+2.3(stat.)-1.5+1.2(syst.))×10-4GeV. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present a study of excited charm-strange baryon states produced in e+e- annihilations at or near a center-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV, in a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 384fb-1 recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- storage rings at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. We study strong decays of charm-strange baryons to Λc+KS0, Λc+K-, Λc+K-π+, Λc+KS0π-, Λc+KS0π-π+, and Λc+K-π+π-. This study confirms the existence of the states Ξc(2980)+, Ξc(3077)+, and Ξc(3077)0, with a more accurate determination of the Ξc(2980)+ mass and width. We also present evidence for two new states, Ξc(3055)+ and Ξc(3123)+, decaying through the intermediate- resonant modes Σc(2455)++K- and Σc(2520)++K-, respectively. For each of these baryons, we measure the yield in each final state, determine the statistical significance, and calculate the product of the production cross section and branching fractions. We also measure the masses and widths of these excited charm-strange baryons. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present a search for B decays to a charged scalar meson a+0 and a π0 where the a+0 decays to an π meson and a π+. The analysis was performed on a data sample consisting of 383×106 BB pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at SLAC. We find no significant signal and set an upper limit on the product branching fraction B(B+ → + → a + 0 π 0 ) × B(a+0 → ηπ+) of 1.4×10-6 at the 90% confidence level.

Abstract: A search for charmonium and other new states is performed in a study of exclusive initial-state-radiation production of DD̄ events from electron-positron annihilations at a center-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 384fb-1 and was recorded by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II storage ring. The DD̄ mass spectrum shows clear evidence of the ψ(3770) plus other structures near 3.9, 4.1, and 4.4GeV/c2. No evidence for Y(4260)→DD̄ is observed, leading to an upper limit of B(Y(4260)→DD̄)/B(Y(4260)→J/ψπ+π-)

Abstract: We present an updated measurement of the CP-odd fraction and the time-dependent CP asymmetries in the decay B0→D*+D*- using (383±4)×106BB̄ pairs collected with the BABAR detector. We determine the CP-odd fraction to be 0.143±0.034(stat)±0.008(syst). The time-dependent CP asymmetry parameters are determined to be C+=-0.05±0.14(stat)±0.02(syst) and S+=-0.72±0.19(stat) ±0.05(syst). The nonzero value of the measured S+ indicates the evidence of CP violation at the 3.7σ confidence level. © 2007 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We search for decays of a B meson into a neutral D meson and a charged kaon, with the D meson decaying into a charged kaon, a charged pion, and a neutral pion. This final state can be reached through the b→c transition B-→D0K- followed by the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed D0→K+π-π0, or the b→u transition B-→D̄0K- followed by the Cabibbo-favored D̄0→K+π-π0. The interference of these two amplitudes is sensitive to the angle γ of the unitarity triangle. We present results based on 226×106 e+e-→Υ(4S)→BB̄ events collected with the BABAR detector at SLAC. We find no significant evidence for these decays and we set a limit RADS≡Γ([K+π-π0]DK-)+Γ([K-π+π0]DK+) Γ([K+π-π0]DK+)+Γ([K-π+π0]DK-)

34. The e+e-→2(π+π-)π0, 2(π+π-)η, K+K-π+π-π0 and K+K-π+π-η cross sections measured with initial-state radiation

Abstract: We study the processes e+e-→2(π+π-)π0γ, 2(π+π-)ηγ, K+K-π+π-π0γ and K+K-π+π- ηγ with the hard photon radiated from the initial state. About 20000, 4300, 5500, and 375 fully reconstructed events, respectively, are selected from 232fb-1 of BABAR data. The invariant mass of the hadronic final state defines the effective e+e- center-of-mass energy, so that the obtained cross sections from the threshold to about 5 GeV can be compared with corresponding direct e+e- measurements, currently available only for the ηπ+π- and ωπ+π- submodes of the e+e-→2(π+π-)π0 channel. Studying the structure of these events, we find contributions from a number of intermediate states, and we extract their cross sections where possible. In particular, we isolate the contribution from e+e-→ω(782)π+π- and study the ω(1420) and ω(1650) resonances. In the charmonium region, we observe the J/ψ in all these final states and several intermediate states, as well as the ψ(2S) in some modes, and we measure the corresponding branching fractions. © 2007 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: With a sample of 232×106 Υ(4S)→BB̄ events collected with the BABAR detector, we study the decays of B mesons to pp̄h final states, where h=π+, KS0, K*0, or K*+. We report evidence for the B0→pp̄K*0 decay, with a branching fraction (1.47±0. 45(stat)±0.40(syst))×10-6, and for the B+→ηcK*+ decay, with the branching fraction of B(B+→ηcK*+) ×B(ηc→pp̄)=(1.57-0.45+0.56(stat)-0.36+0.46(syst)) ×10-6, and provide improved measurements of the branching fractions of the other modes of this type. We also report the measurements of the charge asymmetry consistent with zero in the B+→pp̄π+, B0→pp̄K*0, and B+→pp̄K*+ modes. No evidence is found for the pentaquark candidate Θ+ in the mass range 1.52 to 1.55GeV/c2, decaying into pKS0, or the glueball candidate fJ(2220) in the mass range 2.2

Abstract: We present updated measurements of the branching fractions and CP asymmetries for B0→π0π0, B±→π±π0, and B±→K±π0. Based on a sample of 383×106 Υ(4S)→BB̄ decays collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at SLAC, we measure B(B0→π0π0)=(1. 47±0.25±0.12)×10-6, B(B±→π±π0)=(5. 02±0.46±0.29)×10-6, and B(B±→K±π0)= (13.6±0.6±0.7)×10-6. We also measure the CP asymmetries Cπ0π0=-0.49±0.35±0.05, Aπ±π0=0.03±0. 08±0.01, and AK±π0=0.030±0.039±0.010. Finally, we present bounds on the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle α using isospin relations. © 2007 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We study the e+e-→ΛΛ̄γ, ΛΣ̄ 0γ, Σ0Σ̄0γ processes using 230fb-1 of integrated luminosity collected by the BABAR detector at e+e- center-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV. From the analysis of the baryon-antibaryon mass spectra the cross sections for e+e-→ΛΛ̄, ΛΣ̄0, Σ0Σ̄0 are measured in the dibaryon mass range from threshold up to 3GeV/c2. The ratio of electric and magnetic form factors, |GE/GM|, is measured for e+e-→ΛΛ̄, and limits on the relative phase between Λ form factors are obtained. We also measure the J/ψ→ΛΛ̄, Σ0Σ̄0, and ψ(2S)→ΛΛ̄ branching fractions. © 2007 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present measurements of the time-dependent CP-violating asymmetries in B0→KS0KS0KS0 decays based on 384×106 Υ(4S)→BB̄ decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at SLAC. We obtain the CP asymmetry parameters C=0.02±0.21±0.05 and S=-0.71±0.24±0.04, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. These results are consistent with standard model expectations. © 2007 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We report on a search for the process B+→K̄*0(892)K+ using 232×106 Υ(4S)→BB̄ decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at SLAC. From a signal yield of 25±13[stat]±7[syst] B+→K̄*0(892)(→K-π+)K+ events, we place an upper limit on the branching fraction B(B+→K̄ *0(892)K+) of 1.1×10-6, at the 90% confidence level. © 2007 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We have searched for prompt production of χc1, χc2 and X(3872) in continuum e+e- annihilations using a 386fb-1 data sample collected around s=10.6GeV with the BABAR detector using the γJ/ψ decay mode. After accounting for the feed-down from ψ(2S)→γχc1,2, no significant signal for prompt χc1,2 production is observed. We present improved upper limits at 90% confidence level on the production cross sections of 77fb for χc1 and 79fb for χc2, for events where the χc momentum exceeds 2.0 GeV and there are at least three additional charged tracks. These limits are consistent with NRQCD predictions. We also set an upper limit on the prompt production of X(3872) through the decay X(3872)→γJ/ψ. © 2007 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: Branching fraction measurements of charmless B 0 → K *0 h+1 h- 2 (h1,2 = K, π) decays are pre-sented, using a data sample of 383 million σ(4S) → BB decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B-meson factory at SLAC. The results are: B(B 0 → K *0 K+K-) = (27.5 ± 1.3 ± 2.2) × 10-6, B(B 0 → K z.ast;0 +K-) = (4.6 ± 1.1 ± 0.8) × 10-6 and B(B 0 → K z.ast;0 +π-) = (54.5 ± 2.9 ± 4.3) × 10-6. The first errors quoted are statistical and the second are systematic. An upper limit is set for B(B 0 → K z.ast;0 +π-) < 2.2 × 10-6 at 90% confidence level. We also present measurements of CP-violating asymmetries for the observed decays.

Abstract: We present results from an analysis of B0→ρ+ρ- decays using (383.6±4.2)×106 BB̄ pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at SLAC. The measurements of the B0→ρ+ρ- branching fraction, longitudinal polarization fraction fL, and the CP-violating parameters Slong and Clong are as follows: B(B0→ρ+ρ-)=(25.5±2.1(stat)-3.9+3.6(syst))×10-6, fL=0.992±0.024(stat)-0.013+0.026(syst), Slong=-0.17±0.20(stat)-0. 06+0.05(syst), Clong=0.01±0.15(stat)±0.06(syst). We determine the unitarity triangle angle α, using an isospin analysis of B→ρρ decays. One of the two solutions, α=[73.1,117.0]° at 68% confidence level, is compatible with standard model-based fits of existing data. Constraints on the unitarity triangle are also evaluated using an SU(3) symmetry-based approach. © 2007 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: A measurement of the τ-→K-π0ντ branching fraction has been made using 230.2fb-1 of data recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- collider, located at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), at a center-of-mass energy s close to 10.58 GeV. We measure B(τ-→K- π0ντ)=(0.416±0.003(stat)±0.018(syst))%. © 2007 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present a search for the decay B+→τ+ν using 383×106BB̄ pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II B-Factory. A sample of events with one reconstructed semileptonic B decay (B-→D0 -ν̄ X) is selected, and in the recoil a search for B+→τ+ν is performed. The τ is identified in the following channels: τ+→e+νν̄, τ+→μ+νν̄, τ+→π+ν̄, and τ+→π+π0ν̄. We measure a branching fraction of B(B+→τ+ν)=(0.9±0.6(stat.)±0.1(syst.))×10-4. In the absence of a significant signal, we calculate an upper limit at the 90% confidence level of B(B+→τ+ν)

Abstract: Motivated by the polarization anomaly in the B→ (1020)K*(892) decay, we extend our search for other K* final states in the decay B0→ (1020)K*0 with the K*0→K+π- invariant mass above 1.6 GeV. The final states considered include the K*(1680)0, K3*(1780)0, K4*(2045)0, and a Kπ spin-zero nonresonant component. We also search for B0→ D̄0 decay with the same final state. The analysis is based on a sample of about 384×106 BB̄ pairs recorded with the BABAR detector. We place upper limits on the branching fractions B(B0→ K*(1680)0)

Abstract: The shape of the hadronic form factor f+(q2) in the decay D0→K-e+νe has been measured in a model independent analysis and compared with theoretical calculations. We use 75fb-1 of data recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II electron-positron collider. The corresponding decay branching fraction, relative to the decay D0→K-π+, has also been measured to be RD=B(D0→K-e+νe(γ))/B(D0→K-π+(γ))=0.927±0. 007±0.012. From these results, and using the present world average value for B(D0→K-π+), the normalization of the form factor at q2=0 is determined to be f+(0)=0.727±0.007±0.005±0.007 where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and from external inputs, respectively. © 2007 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We determine the relative branching fractions of semileptonic B decays to charmed final states. The measurement is performed on the recoil from a fully reconstructed B meson in a sample of 362×106 BB̄ pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. A simultaneous fit to a set of discriminating variables is performed on a sample of B̄→DX-ν̄ decays to determine the contributions from the different channels. We measure Γ(B-→D-ν̄)/Γ(B-→DX-ν̄)=0.227±0. 014±0.016, Γ(B-→D*-ν̄)/Γ(B-→DX- ν̄)=0.582±0.018±0.030, and Γ(B-→D **-ν̄)/Γ(B-→DX-ν̄)=0.191±0. 013±0.019 for the charged B sample, and Γ(B0̄→D- ν̄)/Γ(B0̄→DX-ν̄)=0.215±0.016±0. 013, Γ(B0̄→D*-ν̄)/Γ(B0̄→DX- ν̄)=0.537±0.031±0.036, and Γ(B0̄→ D**-ν̄)/Γ(B0̄→DX-ν̄)=0.248±0. 032±0.030 for the neutral B sample, where uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. © 2007 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present measurements of the branching fractions for B0-meson decays to η′K0 and ωK0, and of the branching fractions and CP-violation charge asymmetries for B+-meson decays to ηπ+, ηK+, η′π+, η′K+, ωπ+, and ωK+. The data, collected with the BABAR detector at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, represent 383×106 BB̄ pairs produced in e+e- annihilation. The measurements agree with previous results; we find no evidence for direct CP violation. © 2007 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We perform the first three-dimensional measurement of the amplitudes of B→ψ(2S)K* and B→χc1K* decays and update our previous measurement for B→J/ψK*. We use a data sample collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II storage ring, corresponding to 232×106 BB̄ pairs. The longitudinal polarization of decays involving a JPC=1++ χc1 meson is found to be larger than that with a 1 - J/ψ or ψ(2S) meson. No direct CP-violating charge asymmetry is observed. © 2007 The American Physical Society.
