Abstract

This report will try to present some confirmation of the direct relation between structural peculiarities and physical/chemical properties (oxidation efficiency) by the example of two model systems: CuCr2−xCoxO4+nCuO (carrier) and TiO2 (carrier)+nCuO. More correct crystal structure for Cu(Cr/Co)2O4+nCuO system is proposed.

Abstract

Neutron powder diffraction experiments on 154 Sm 0.6 Sr 0.4 MnO 3 in the temperature range from 1.5 to 300 K have been performed using the high-resolution G4.2 (LLB, France) diffractometer. The material undergoes an insulator–metal transition at T ∼120 K and exibits the giant magnetoresistance effect. The Jahn–Teller transition temperature is found to be close to 180 K.
