Abstract

High temperature series have been obtained for the fluctuation in the order parameter of the Ising model with a transverse field on the three common cubic lattices. Accurate estimates of the position of the critical line in the temperature-field plane have been obtained.

Abstract

We report the results of real space renormalization group calculations for the spin 1 2 Ising model on the simple cubic lattice. Several transformation schemes between site and cell variables are used. The results are only in fair agreement with series estimates.

Abstract

The Heisenberg model with biquadratic exchange is investigated with a simple Green function approach, based on RP A decoupling. For spin 1 explicit results are obtained for the spin wave energies and for the dipolar and quadrupolar order parameters. Some deficiencies of the decoupling scheme are discussed.
