Colon targeted drugs need to release at colon specific site as many colon targeted drugs are unstable in stomach and upper small intestine. In this work, six different formulations of 5-acetylsalycilic acid in complex with dextrin using sucrose and ethyl cellulose as a binder are formulated by wet granulation method for colon specific drug delivery. Prepared matrix tablets were evaluated for hardness, friability and in vitro drug release. After evaluation of drug release study, it is observed that all formulation of ethyl cellulose shows better drug release profile. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
