In today's world where information is a valuable and vital resource, Information Management emerges as a fundamental discipline to deal with the growing volume of data and transform it into strategic knowledge. This article seeks to present the development of Information Management from the emergence of Information Science and its subareas and its contribution to the management of organizations. Thus, the work unfolds into four main sections: (1) discussion of the framework of the emergence of Information Science and its main milestones over the years; (2) different concepts and characteristics of IC and the emergence of different branched subareas of IC; (3) presentation of the definitions and characteristics of the Information Management subarea; (4) exposition of the various advantages resulting from the application of Information Management in organizations. From the research it was possible to identify that the main advantages arising from information management contribute especially to a better understanding of the different organizational areas and help in decision making. The modernization of Health Information Systems has shown growth at all levels of health care. With regard to Federal University Hospitals, institutions relevant to the promotion of public health in the country, professionals work in an orchestrated way to maintain the continuity of care and administrative services. In this context, the Management Application for University Hospitals was institutionalized by the Brazilian Hospital Services Company, which has several electronic modules that seek to support the standardization of care and administrative activities, as well as facilitate the flows and organization of information from these hospitals. The objective of this research is to find out if the managers of federal university hospitals, linked to the Brazilian Hospital Services Company, in the northeast region, have functional knowledge about the electronic system Management Application for University Hospitals, in order to contribute to the decision-making process. decision. As for the methods and techniques, an exploratory and descriptive research will be carried out, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, with the application of a questionnaire, which will be sent electronically to the management professionals who use the system. It should be noted that the ongoing research has social and scientific relevance as it is a study in hospital units, particularly linked to federal universities that cover various services aimed at patient health, and also in teaching, research and extension. This study explores the organization and retrieval of information in collaborative web environments, in the practice of research for educational purposes, presenting in the Arquigrafia image platform’s as an object of study. From the perspective of information science, it considers the active and collaborative participation of users, who create, share and use web content as a source of information to search and retrieve digital information. Based on a bibliographic survey, this exploratory research studies the use of the collaborative digital image platform Arquigrafia and its reach as a teaching and research tool and proposes an analysis based on the survey of how educational research is carried out on the web. Considers that searching and retrieving information on the web, carried out autonomously, must consider the relevance and effectiveness of the results; and the collaborative tendency towards the development of research for educational purposes, requires strategies of analysis and criticality in relation to the organization of information and the sources of information used. Information sources can be seen as the primary source of information as a reference in data production. A source of publicly supported information is a type of temporary adaptation, due to a diversity of thematic regions due to the high volume of their large time coverage. This research outlines fieldwork using a 100-issue issue of a print journal. The first had as its starting point the inductive method, based on data observed in two stages: the first extracted data for the descriptive process and a second time-extracted data from the subject analysis. What found data that may be implied in Information Retrieval Systems. The results demonstrate a discovery of variables and implicating variables, without metadata, in classification, in hypertext nodes and indexed in Knowledge Organization Systems and Information Retrieval Systems. O presente artigo tem como objetivo explorar o processo de organização da informação do acervo de fitas cassetes que pertencem à pesquisadora e compositora Marlui Miranda. O conteúdo das fitas consiste em gravações musicais e rituais, além de entrevistas, trilhas sonoras, seleções musicais, programas de rádio, conferências e peças teatrais - todos relacionados com a cultura indígena. Procurou-se organizar o acervo de modo que as necessidades da pesquisadora fossem atendidas e, ao mesmo tempo, as normas respeitadas. O procedimento metodológico consistiu de coleta de materiais, elaboração de gráficos e análise dos campos informacionais, além de revisão de literatura e consequente articulação de conceitos caros à pesquisa. Como resultado apresentase, em amostragem, uma diversidade de fitas cassetes de Marlui Miranda organizadas e sistematizadas em banco de dados particular possibilitando reflexões sobre o tratamento da informação da referida cultura. This article aims to explore the process of organizing the information of the cassette record collection belonging to the researcher and composer Marlui Miranda. The content of the tapes consists of musical recordings and rituals, as well as interviews, soundtracks, musical selections, radio programs, conferences and plays - all related to the indigenous culture. It was tried to organize the collection so that the needs of the researcher were met and, at the same time, the norms respected. The methodological procedure consisted of data collection, elaboration of graphs and analysis of the informational fields, besides literature review and consequent articulation of expensive concepts to the research. As a result, a variety of Marlui Miranda tapes are organized and systematized in a particular database, allowing for reflections on the treatment of the information of said culture. From a new perspective on the representation and dissemination of information provided by the web environment, this article proposes to rethink the organization and availability of this information in a conceptually structured way, promoting improvement for efficient elaboration and recovery, also allowing learning to take place on these information systems and their logic. In order to validate this hypothesis, the Conceptual Map conceived by Novak and Cañas (1980), which based on David Ausubel's Theory of Learning (1960), suggests previous organizers to effect user learning. This concept of prior organizer, which allows to show the whole through several interconnected parts, is also a premise applied to the ISO / IEC 13250 standard of topic maps. In the case of the standard, this representation is made through a web programming language (XTM), which enables a systematic organization through software, allowing the user to find and access the information through the interface. Presents project of case study about the aspects of representation of information present in the environment of juridical information organization in electronic media. Its overall objective is to analyze the patterns of Information Representation present on legal information in electronic media; therefore, it took the LexML Brazil Portal as object of study. Contextualizes the research from Representation of Information, metadata, XML markup language and juridical information in electronic media in both national and international contexts. It is characterized as qualitative and descriptive research of basic nature, it refers to conceptual setting of standards, objectives and bibliographic principles arising from the Information Representation area for the construction of categories that will be used in the analysis of the records that deal with legislative documents in LexML Brazil Portal. It is expected that at the end of this research, identify the presence of bibliographic standards in LexML Brazil, in addition, by analyzing the records, it is expected to observe how the objectives and bibliographic principles can present operationally in the Representation of Juridical information.
