Late blight disease is potential threat to the successful production tomato. For management of this disease five plant extracts i.e Azadirachta indica, Moringa oleifera, Zingiber officinales, Citrulus calosynthis, and Calotropis gigentea, were evaluated for their antifungal potential at three concentrations (S/50, S/25, S/15) against late blight disease of tomato. Three sprays of these plant extracts were done with one week interval under Randomized Complete block design (RCBD) in the experimental area of Department of Plant Pathology University of Agriculture Faisalabad. Among these plant extracts, maximum reduction in disease was exhibited by Azadirachta indica (32.15%) followed by Moringa oleifera (41.09%), Zingiber officinales (48.88%), Citrulus calosynthis (49.88%) and Calotropis gigentea (53.41%) as compared to control. Different plant extracts and chemicals were evaluated against powdery mildew of okra under field condition, in experimental area of Department of Plant Pathology, University of Agriculture Faisalabad. A highly susceptible variety Click-5769 was grown in field to check the efficacy of different plant extracts and chemicals against powdery mildew disease (Saccharum erysiph) of okra. In chemicals at standard dose, Score (Diphenoconazole, 0.2%) expressed significant results, after third spray disease incidence was 21% followed by Topsin-M (Thiophenate Methyle, 0.1%) 32.3%, Clipper (Copper oxychloride, 0.5%) 47.67%, Systhane (Michlo Butanil, 0.05%) 54.3%, Benomyl (Cymoxinil, 0.5%) 59% disease incidence as compare to control. Three concentrations 5, 10 and 15% of five plant extracts were used to manage the disease. Among them Neem gave best results at each concentration. After third spray at 15% concentration Neem (Azadirachta indica) reduced 23.2% disease incidence, followed by Garlic (Allium sativum)36.89%, Ginger (Zingiber officinale) 42.1%, Dhatura (Datura stramonium) 48.4%, Onion (Allium cepa) 52.33% disease incidence as compare to control. Five plant extracts and five chemicals were evaluated against Rhzioctonia solani in lab conditions under completely randomized design (CRD). In plant extracts maximum inhibition against the pathogen expressed by Azadirachta indica (71%) followed by Allium sativum (56%), Eucalyptus camaldulensis (48%), Allium cepa (41%) and Peganum harmala (34%) while in chemicals Moncerene (75.8%) showed significant results followed by Topsin-M (62%), Copper oxychloride (53%), Score (45%) and Shankar (41%) as compared to control. In greenhouse different concentrations of Moncerene and Azadirachta indica alone and their combination were evaluated against the black scurf disease of potato. Combine treatment of Moncerene x A. indica showed highest eyes germination (78%) followed by Moncerene (58%) and Azadirachta indica (62%). Minimum disease incidence % and severity was recorded on combine treatment of Moncerene X Azadirachta indica (8%, 1%) followed by Moncerene (19%, 1.2%) and Azadirachta indica (20%, 1.4%) respectively. Under field conditions same combine treatment of Moncerence X Azadirachta indica showed highest eyes germination (78%) with minimum disease incidence (8%) and severity (1%) as compared to Moncerene (56.6%, 12.4%, 2.4%0) and Azadirachta indica (51%, 12.2%, 2.4%) respectively. Fifteen okra varieties/Lines (Green water, Hybrid-133 Sanam, Laxmy, PMF-Beauty, Sabzpari, Super Star, Adventa Selection, Okra1548, JK-Tetra-6, Okra-7100, Pusa Sawani, Kirn, Click-5769 and OH-152 were cultivated in experimental area of Department of Plant Pathology, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad on April 10,2011to determine their response against powdery mildew of okra under augmented design. No cultivar was found immune. Sabzpari and Hybrid-133 expressed resistant response (2-3%), while Okra-7100, Adventa selection, Okra-1548 and Kirn exhibited moderately resistant (7-9%) while Super star, PMF-Beauty and OH-152 were found moderately susceptible (23-29%) Pusa Swani, JK-Tetra-6, Laxmy and Green water were susceptible (42-47%), while Sanam and Click-5769 were highly susceptible with 76-85% disease incidence. In present study fifteen varieties of cotton (FH-114, Bt-121, SLH-336, Kirn, SLH Bt-6, Bt-666, CIM-595, FH-113, Bt- MK2, Bt-222, Bt-457, Bt-7, SLH-317 and Bt-986) were cultivated in research area of the Department of Plant Pathology University of Agriculture Faisalabad during 2012 to determine their genetic response against bacterial blight under randomized complete block design (RCBD). Results showed that none of variety showed immune response against disease while FH-114, Bt-121 and SLH-336 showed moderately resistance to bacterial blight with 15, 17 and 20% disease incidence respectively. While Kirn, SLH Bt-6, Bt-666, CIM-595, FH-113 and Bt-MK2 showed moderately susceptible behavior with (29-38%) disease incidence. In order to identify sources of genetic resistance in mungbean against charcoal rot disease caused by Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goid, fifty advance lines were evaluated under natural field conditions under randomized complete block design (RCBD). No advance line was found immune while five (13989, 14047, 14095, 14100, 14112 were highly resistant. Ten advance lines (13961, 13962, 13984, 14069, 14090, 14102, 14103, 14114, 14118, 14125) showed resistant and eight advance lines (13983, 13986, 13987, 14009, 14019, 14084, 14097, 14120) expressed moderately resistant and eleven (13966, 13976, 13994, 14015, 14078, 14092, 14104, 14105, 14113, 14117, 14124) exhibited moderately susceptible response. Twelve advance lines (13968, 13970, 13972, 13991, 13992, 13995, 14017, 14043, 14045, 14053, 14079, 14101) showed susceptible response and three advance lines (14066, 14072, 14076) expressed high susceptibility response towards disease.
