The article elaborates on meeting the needs of adolescent parents and their children. Topics discussed include adolescent parents and their children presenting to health care practitioners as two paediatric patients, each with unique health care needs as both may be at risk for negative health outcomes. Also mentioned are the health needs of the child and mother best assessed using a non-judgmental approach, appropriate screening tools and open questions that address health issues.
