The significance of these highly specialized blood vessels within neoplastic lesions, and notably their capacity to influence anticancer immune responses and tumor progression, remains to be fully understood. Colorectal cancer is a common disease which appears to be influenced by anti-tumor immune responses. Here we discuss our recent study(1) which tracked anti-tumor CD4(+) T cell responses before and after surgical resection, highlighting the importance of regulatory T cells (T(regs)) in controlling these responses, and the influence of the tumor on these specific T‑cell populations.
