The article discusses the online study and teaching of history. Particular focus is given to the authors' experience of designing two online, asynchronous courses for teachers, centering on Virginia history and U.S. history respectively. Details on the use of primary and secondary source materials in online teaching are presented. The authors emphasize the roles of flexibility, interaction, and feedback in online learning.
