5. N= 2 Morse-Liouville theory and non-minimal superconformal theories

Abstract

We define and study the Morse-Liouville theory, i.e. a massive deformation of the N= 2, d = 2 Liouville model. Standard arguments of N= 2, d= 2 supersymmetry allow the computation of correlation functions and functions and fusion rules for subsets of (anti)chiral fields in the scaling regime, where N= 2 superconformal invariance is expected to be recovered. We find the relation N= 3(1+1/β 2)> 3 between the coupling constant β and the central charge cof the scaling limit theory which is conjectured to represent sectors of non-minimal superconformal theories.

6. Stochastic processes in lattice (extended) supersymmetry

Abstract

We show that ungauged N= 2 supersymetric models can be put on the (hamiltonian) lattice in such a way as to preserve a subalgebra of supersymmetry large enough to ensure the existence of the Nicolai mapping. The models can be interpreted as stochastic systems described by Langevin equations. We describe both Wilson and Susskind versions of the model.

8. Massive vector multiplets from superstrings

Abstract

The four-dimensional Green-Schwarz anomaly cancellation mechanism with a surviving U(1) gauge group is described in the context of standard tensor calculus (superspace) techniques for local supersymmetry. This phenomenon is “dual” to the case in which a massless vector field is eaten up by an antisymmetric tensor which thereby describes a massive spin-one field. Both mechanisms are motivated by recent string-loop calculations. Unlike the case of some supergravity models, these mechanisms seem unable (order by order, at least) to break supersymmetry while keeping the cosmological constant vanishing.
