Abstract

Sorbus cibagouensis sp. nov. (Rosaceae subfam. Rosaceae), a new taxon from Cibagou National Nature Reserve, Zayü County, southeastern Xizang (Tibet), China, is described and illustrated. It is related to S. monbeigii (Cardot) Balakr., but primarily differs in the number of styles ( S. cibagouensis = 5; S. monbeigii = 4) and the shape of stipules and leaves ( S. cibagouensis: stipules caducous, small, with entire margin, leaflets in 9-11 pairs; S. monbeigii: stipules persistent, large, serrate, leaflets in 6-8 (-10) pairs). Abstract

Two new combinations in the genus Chelonopsis(Lamiaceae) are proposed based on a wide range of herbarium and field investigations. Chelonopsis roseaW. W. Smith and Chelonopsis siccaneaW. W. Smith are treated as conspecific and the latter taxon, is here recombined as C. roseavar. siccanea(W. W. Smith) C. L. Xiang & H. Peng, comb. et stat. nov. Another species, C. albifloraPax & K. Hoffmann ex Limpricht var. cashmericaMukerjee is recombined as C. souliei(Bonati) Merr. var. cashmerica(Mukerjee) C. L. Xiang & H. Peng. In addition, C. pseudobracteataC. Y. Wu et H. W. Li is newly synonymized with C. lichiangensisW. W. Smith and C. odontochilaDiels var. smithii(Kudo) C. Y. Wu with C. odontochilaDiels var. odontochila. An updated key to the genus is also provided.

Abstract

A taxonomic revision of four species of Ilex from China is presented. Ilex dabieshanensis is accepted as the nothospecies I. × dabieshanensis. Six new synonyms are proposed: I. huoshanensis is reduced to a synonym of I. × dabieshanensis from I. centrochinensis, I. urceolatus to I. hylonoma var. glabra, I. kunmingensis var. capitata and I. macrostigma to I. kunmingensis var. kunmingensis, and I. dasyclada and I. tetramera var. glabra to I. tetramera var. tetramera.
