The paper supplements a taxonomic revision of the New World species of Pouzolzia by Wilmot-Dear and Friis in 1996 and a supplement in 2011 with an additional new species. Here another new species of Pouzolzia, P. saxophila Friis, Wilmot-Dear & A. K. Monro, is described from a restricted area of xerophytic scrub vegetation on rocky outcrops in the Boa Nova National Park, Bahia, Brazil. The new species is somewhat similar to P. pringlei, a Mexican endemic, and to P. amambaiensis from the Brazil-Paraguay border, but also to the widespread Asiatic P. zeylanica. However, the similarities with these species are probably due to adaptation to similar dry habitats on rocky outcrops. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

During recent field expeditions to the Chapada Diamantina (Bahia, Brazil), two species of the neotropical genus Microlicia were collected that could not be placed in any of the previously described taxa of the genus. These two species are here proposed as new: Microlicia angelana and M. debilis. Both species are apparently endemic to the Serra do Porco Gordo in Arapiranga District, Rio de Contas. Diagnoses, line drawings, distribution maps, notes on diagnostic characters and conservation assessments are provided. Information on habitat and phenology is also included. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Hohenbergia burle‐marxii is one of the rarest species of Hohenbergia (Bromeliaceae), until recently known only by the holotype and its clones. The species had been recorded only once in an imprecise locality in Bahia's south region. After extensive field work we refound the species and we here present a new geographic range of Hohenbergia burle‐marxii, at the same time adding information about its morphology and ecological traits, including a map and photographs of living plants. A new species, Mikania mellosilvae, from Bahia and Minas Gerais States, is described and illustrated. Until now, herbarium material of this species has been misidentified, as well as in articles referring to the collections, as Mikania candolleana Gardner. The similarities and differences between the two taxa are discussed. Although both species share a lianescent habit, similar leaf shape and inflorescence structure, they differ mainly in the leaf base form, stem indumentum, peduncle and flower measurements and by their geographical distribution, as M. mellosilvae is endemic to the Atlantic Forest domain and M. candolleana is endemic to the Cerrado domain, both in eastern Brazil. We also provide a distribution map for both species, a lectotypification for the name M. candolleana, as well as a detailed description of the new taxon, along with illustrations including habitat pictures, a preliminary conservation assessment and comments on its ecology. The new species Mollugo viscosa Thulin & Harley is described from Minas Gerais in eastern Brazil. It was previously part of the recently published M. brasiliensis Thulin & Harley, a species that was found to be non‐monophyletic in molecular phylogenetic analyses. Mollugo brasiliensis is here divided into a northern species (M. brasiliensis s.str.) in Bahia and a southern species (M. viscosa sp. nov.) in Minas Gerais. The new species differs from M. brasiliensis in its denser and more viscous indumentum, and in its distinctly smaller seeds with smaller tubercles and a smaller hilar peg, and from its sister species M. ulei by being a perennial herb with bisexual flowers.
