This article discusses a new radiographic technique for obtaining clear images of the buccal roots of maxillary molar teeth in dogs. Traditional intraoral projections often do not capture detailed information about these roots and surrounding tissues. The study found that the extraoral transorbital projection (TOP) was preferable for assessing the buccal roots of the maxillary first molar tooth. However, TOP should not replace intraoral bisecting angle projections, as they are necessary for assessing palatal roots.
