Abstract

The article offers information related to inflammasomes, highlighting the discovery of new lipopolysaccharide (LPS) receptors. It reveals that LPS, which is the Gram-negative bacteria's, outer membrane component, is recognized by immune cells through the pattern recognition receptor Toll-like receptor 4. Information about caspase oligomerization and inflammasome activation is provided.
