Abstract

The effects of capsaicin and the selective calcitonin-gene-related peptide (CGRP)-receptor antagonist 8-37 CGRP on anandamide-induced relaxation in rate hepatic and small mesenteric arteries and guinea-pig basilar artery, were studied. Anandamide was found to activate vanilloid receptors on primary sensory neurons and is a possible molecular mechanism for the non-CBI receptor-mediated vasodilator action of anandamide.
