Recently described species Rivina andamanensisL.J. Singh & M.C. Naik from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India, is synonymised under Rivina humilisL. We studied the morphological variations in the unispecific genus Rivinafrom the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana (southern India), Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand (northern India) and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and concluded that R. humilisis highly polymorphic species. Lectotypes are designated for three names Rivina orientalisMoq., Rivina portulaccoidesNutt. and Rivina puberulaKunth.

Achyranthes longifolia(Makino) Makino (Amaranthaceae) is a rare medicinal angiosperm. It was recorded for the first time from the Eastern Ghats of Andhra Pradesh, as of yet not been reported from India, it forms new angiospermic addition for Indian biodiversity as well as the Southern Asian region. It is being described along with comprehensive illustration and field photographs to make easy identification of the taxon.

The present communication reports Thuniaalbavar. bracteata(Roxb.) N. Pearce & P.J. Cribb, an epiphytic orchid as an addition to the flora of Eastern Ghats in Andhra Pradesh. A detailed description and photographs are provided for its easy identification. The genus ThuniaRchb.f. also recorded here as a new record for Eastern Ghats of Andhra Pradesh.

Achyranthes coyneiSantapau (Amaranthaceae) is an endemic and red listed species of India. It was recorded for the first time from Kachchh biosphere reserve and forms new distributional record for the Indian Desert region and Gujarat state. It is being described along with field photographs to facilitate easy identification of the taxon.
