The article discusses oils and Water Colors painting exhibition by John Marin at An American Place, which will be held through January 9. The author states that for several years now Marin has been seeking to advance his development through oil rather than watercolor. According to the author, Marin is better in oil, than is generally admitted. Yet in this show of his latest work the only oil that comes off at all is the artwork titled "The Three-Masted Schooner," which has a four-square pictorial compactness.
