The article reports that the division of minimum wage of the Massachusetts Department of Labor & Industries has approved the recommendations of a wage board as to wages for women engaged in the manufacture of paper goods as of December 1925. Employees who are 18 years old and over and have had at least one year's experience in the particular plant of employment are to receive not less than $13.75 per week. Those under 18 with similar experience are to receive a minimum of $12, while inexperienced workers over 16 begin at $11, and if under 16 at $9.

The article traces the development of industries in Germany from 1913 to 1922. The German Federal Government conducted a census that described the development and condition of economic life in the country. This census included all industries, from mining, commerce, handicrafts, forestry and agriculture. It covered industries and establishments that have at least 10 workers or operated by motor equipment. Several employment statistics on various industries are presented, including iron and steel, mining and metal working and machinery industries.

The article offers a look at the employment condition in different industries in the U.S. in November 1923. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, generally, an increase in employment volume was reported in November, as well as an increase in wages. Women's clothing, millinery, brick and men's clothing industries reported a decline in employment rate. While steel shipbuilding, slaughtering and meat packing, agricultural equipment and automobile tires industries recorded employment increase. The article assesses the rate of employment in the U.S. manufacturing sector in October 1925. The volume of employment rose in October in 7 of the 9 geographic divisions and dropped only slightly in the Mountain and Pacific states. The only marked decline in employment was a 7.4 percent decline in the automobile tire industry. Payroll totals, as well as per capita earnings, had also increased 12.1 percent in October. Ninety-four establishments in 31 industries also reported pay increases for the month ending October 15.
