Information about several papers discussed at the Twentieth Colloquium on High Resolution Molecular Spectroscopy conference that was held in Dijon, France is presented. Dominique Levesque celebrates his 65th birthday on August 23, 2003, and it is most appropriate that the periodical 'Molecular Physics,' which has published many of his papers, marks the occasion by paying tribute to one of the pioneers of the application of numerical and simulation methods to Statistical Mechanics of classical and quantum fluids. Levesque was born in Angers, France and took a degree in physics at the University of Rennes, France in 1959. He then moved to Paris, France, for a Master's degree in theoretical physics. Levesque was appointed a junior researcher at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in 1961, and was promoted to Directeur de Recherche in 1986. He was awarded the Silver Medal of the CNRS in 1982. An important and influential part of Levesque's work deals with polar and ionic liquids, using integral equation and computer simulation techniques. He was one of the key players in solving the problem of how to determine the dielectric properties of polar and polarizable liquids by computer simulations of periodic samples.
