The article presents a study on the efficiency of estrogen and phtotherapy for menopausal women in Italy. Menopausal women usually experience hypoestrogenism which affects their oral cavity. The symptoms of hypoestrogenism shows a change in salivary secretion, gingivitis, and a change in taste sensation. This symptoms have been known to cause discomfort the quality of life of these patients. To ease their burden, this study intends to determine whether the hormone replacement therapy is beneficial for patients. The study has used the no hormone replacement therapy, the estrogen therapy, and the phytotherapy in order to measure the changes that will occur in the oral cavity.
