Gastric cancer (GC) is a heterogeneous disease; the tumor distribution and molecular subtype could affect the prognosis of patients with GC. However, the clinicopathological difference between GC in the lesser and that in the greater curvature remains unknown. In this study, we aimed to investigate the difference and provide new clues for the treatment of GC. Between January 2010 and August 2014, 1249 consecutive patients with GC in the lesser or greater curvature were treated in our surgery department; data related to the demographic characteristics, pathological type, tumor grade, tumor size, TNM stage, tumor markers, operative methods, complications, and follow-up were retrospectively analyzed using a univariate analysis and the Kaplan-Meier method. The tumor size in lesser curvature was larger than that in the greater curvature (4.95 ± 2.57 vs 4.43 ± 2.62 cm, P = .034); patients with GC in the lesser curvature had a higher incidence of total gastrectomy and a lower incidence of distal gastrectomy than those with GC in the greater curvature (60.2% vs 43.2%, and 34.8% vs 49.2%, P = .002). No significant differences were found in the 5-year survival rate between patients with GC in the greater curvature and those with GC in the lesser curvature (62.6% vs 66.1%, P = .496). The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) expression rate of tumors in the lesser curvature was 40.55%, which was significantly higher than that of tumors in the greater curvature (25.92%, P = .024), while the 5-year survival rate of patients with EGFR-positive expression was 50.8%, which was significantly lower than that of patients with EGFR-negative expression (64.8%, P = .021). Significant differences were observed in the clinicopathological features between GC in the lesser curvature and that in the greater curvature. These differences contribute to the improvement in the treatment outcome.

Necrotizing fasciitis (NF) is a rare, severe soft tissue infection, characterized by rapid and extensive necrosis of the skin, subcutaneous tissue, and superficial and deep fascia. It is frequently misdiagnosed as other infectious diseases, leading to inappropriate treatment and potentially serious consequences. It may be complicated by septic shock and multiple organ failure with a fatal outcome.A 73-year-old woman presented with continuous itching, skin lesions, pain, and swelling of the outer side of her left leg. The patient was diagnosed with septic shock and multiorgan failure caused by left leg NF.Septic shock and multiorgan failure caused by left leg NF.Two surgeries were performed on the patient's leg, which effectively treated her septic shock and multiple organ dysfunction.The patient was followed up three times after her discharge. She had a good recovery, was generally well with no significant sequelae, and returned to her regular life.NF is an acute severe illness with high mortality. It is easily misdiagnosed, leading to delayed or erroneous treatment and serious (or potentially fatal) outcomes. Rapid and accurate diagnosis of NF is essential for patient recovery. In difficult cases, multidisciplinary consultations may be helpful. The management of NF includes early and thorough surgical debridement, antibiotics, and symptomatic treatment.

The SET nuclear proto-oncogene (SET)-nucleoporin (NUP) 214 fusion gene (SET-NUP214) is a rare leukemia fusion gene. Due to the limited number of samples with SET-NUP214 fusion gene in previous studies, the significance of SET-NUP214 for measurable residual disease (MRD) monitoring in patients with acute leukemia (AL) is still unclear. Our study aimed to observe the dynamic changes in SET-NUP214 expression before and after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT), and analyzed whether SET-NUP214 could be used to evaluate MRD status. Our study included 24 AL patients who were newly diagnosed with SET-NUP214 fusion gene and they all received allo-HSCT. Their MRD was evaluated by monitoring SET-NUP214 fusion gene and leukemia-associated immunophenotype (LAIP). The median follow-up time was 501 days (56–2208 days). Of the enrolled patients, 6 (25%) patients died, including 3 (12.5%) patients died of leukemia relapse. Total 5 (20.8%) patients experienced hematological relapse at a median of 225 days (56–1057 days) post-transplantation. The SET-NUP214 median expression level at diagnosis was 405.1% (14.6%–1482.4%). SET-NUP214 gene expression generally became positive prior to flow cytometry results. Background: Chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) is an established precursor of gastric carcinoma with high prevalence worldwide. It is a typical complex gastro-intestinal disease with multiple influence factors, of which exact mechanisms remain unelucidated. Therefore, an ideal strategy to relieve CAG is urgently needed. In recent years, massage therapy has been increasingly accepted by CAG patients due to its lower costs, fewer unwanted side effects and safety for clinical use. In this systematic review, we aim to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of massage therapy for patients with chronic atrophic gastritis. Methods: We will search the following electronic databases for randomized controlled trials to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of massage therapy in treating chronic atrophic gastritis: Wanfang and Pubmed Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database, Cochrane Central register of controlled trials, Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature, and Excerpta Medica database. Each database will be searched from inception to September 2020. The entire process will include study selection, data extraction, risk of bias assessment, and meta-analyses. Result: This proposed study will evaluate the effectiveness and safety of massage therapy for patients with chronic atrophic gastritis. The outcomes will include changes in CAG relief and adverse effect. Conclusion: This proposed systematic review will evaluate the existing evidence on the effectiveness and safety of massage therapy for patients with chronic atrophic gastritis. Dissemination and ethics: The results of this review will be disseminated through peer-reviewed publication. Because all of the data used in this systematic review and meta-analysis has been published, this review does not require ethical approval. Furthermore, all data will be analyzed anonymously during the review process.

Background: Metatarsalgia refers to localized or generalized forefoot pain in the region of the metatarsal heads. Often this pain is plantar, beneath the metatarsal heads, and arises from either mechanical or iatrogenic causes. The treatment of metatarsalgia remains controversial. A thorough understanding of the biomechanics of the forefoot and the underlying pathology of the particular type of metatarsalgia affecting the patient is a prerequisite to selecting the proper treatment. Background This study will appraise the impact of pelvic floor ultrasound (PFU) in diagnosis of postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction (PPPFD). Methods Studies that report the impact of PFU in diagnosis of PPPFD will be examined in Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, EMBASE, PSYCINFO, Scopus, Web of Science, Allied and Complementary Medicine Database, CNKI, and WANGFANG up to June 1, 2020. Grey literature sources will also be searched. All potential case-controlled studies (CCSs) exploring the impact of PFU in diagnosis of PPPFD will be considered for inclusion in this study. Data will be extracted from eligible CCSs for data pooling and meta-analysis. Whenever necessary, we will also perform summary effect size, heterogeneity across studies, study quality assessment, and reporting bias. Results The present study will estimate pooled outcome effects regarding the impact of PFU in diagnosis of PPPFD. Background This study aims to assess the impact of ultrasound diagnosis in patients with chronic pelvic pain (CPP). Methods We will carry out a comprehensive electronic search from the databases below: PUBMED, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, PSYCINFO, Web of Science, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Allied and Complementary Medicine Database, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and WANGFANG databases from inception to July 1, 2019. The case-controlled studies focusing on impact of ultrasound diagnosis for patients CPP will be included in this study. Two authors will independently conduct all study selection, data collection, and risk of bias assessment. The risk of bias assessment will be assessed using Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies tool. We will apply RevMan V.5.3 software and Stata V.12.0 software for data pooling and statistical analysis. Results This study will present pooled effect estimates regarding the impact of ultrasound diagnosis for CPP by assessing sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio, negative likelihood ratio, and diagnostic odds ratio of ultrasound to determine the diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound diagnosis for CPP. Conclusion This study will provide modest evidence for the diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound in patients with CPP. Systematic review registration PROSPERO CRD42019142799.

Rationale Solitary fibrous tumor(SFT) is a rare and distinct clinical entity. There are few descriptions in the literature regarding the PET manifestations of SFTs. Herein,we report a case of multiple malignant SFT with PET/CT imaging findings and PET/Contrast Enhanced CT image findings. Patient concerns A 30-year-old woman presented with a history of a mass in neck increased gradually over 6 months without jaundice or other symptoms of obstruction.Serum laboratory results and tumor markers (AFP, CEA,CA199,CA724,CA153 and CA125)were normal. The whole body PET/CT scan showed lightly or mildly hypermetabolic and inhomogeneous metabolic which was different from other reports, and it was the first report of 18F-FDG-PET/CT findings of multiple malignant SFTs, which were confirmed by positive immunohistochemical staining for CD2-40, CD99, SMA and negative immunohistochemical staining for S100 and CD34. Diagnoses She was diagnosed with multiple malignant solitary fibrous tumors which was confirmed by pathological results and 18F-FDG-PET/CT findings. Interventions The patient didn't receive any treatment because she was not suitable for surgery and refused any other therapy. Outcomes The patient has been followed up for one year,and she was still alive. Lessons SFTs should be detected early and treated early.It was of high value in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of SFTs by PET/CT imaging findings, which can not only identify the benign and malignant lesions, but also identify the lesion involved range.
