Regular physical activity (PA) is essential for health maintenance and disease prevention. COVID- 19 and its social isolation affected patients with cardiovascular (CV) disease. This is a scoping review aiming to map, analyze, and summarize the impacts caused by the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic concerning PA and CV health in adults. Methods: The review was based on PRISMA-ScR. PubMed, PubMed Central, BVS/BIREME, Scopus, Web of Science, CINAHL, Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations, and SciELO databases were selected to search. Two search phases were performed: May 2021 and March 2022. English-language full-text papers were included. Initially, the titles and abstracts of the retrieved documents were read and screened based on the research question. A third reviewer resolved disagreement through consensus meetings. An assessment form was adapted for data extraction. The study was registered in the Open Science Framework platform under the DOI https://doi.org/10.17605/OSF.IO/AH6P8. Results: 11 papers were included and demonstrated that regular PA could be challenging in social isolation environments. Most participants were moderately active and performed low-intensity PA. Confinement led to the limitation of everyday activities, nutritional disorders, and reduced PA, contributing to weight gain. Quarantine was associated with stress and depression, leading to an unhealthy diet. Possible solutions point to home PA, considering the baseline health and CV status. Conclusion: The post-COVID- 19 era and its consequences point to the pressing need for planning strategies that increase and maintain home PA as a protective measure for the general population, considering CV health, resources, and household space.

Study model: integrative review. Objective: to identify organizational behaviors described in the literature about inter-hospital transport of newborns in critical health condition performed by means of ambulance. Methodology: integrative review with query in the databases: LILACS, CINAHL, MEDLINE, Web of Science and Scopus, during the period from September to November 2013. In order to perform the research, the non-controlled descriptors ‘newborn transport’, ‘newborn infants’ and ‘protocol’ were used, as well as the controlled descriptors ‘transport of patients’, ‘newborn’ and ‘ambulances’. The search was limited to papers published in Portuguese, English and Spanish, without an established period, which addressed the inter-hospital transport of critically ill newborn by ambulance. Results: 12 papers were selected. The identified behaviors were: pre-transport communication; composition of the team that will conduct the transport; reference and counter-reference; selection of vehicle for transportation; equipment and medications that may be used during transportation. Conclusions: The selected studies address the important measures to be applied at all stages of the inter-hospital transport of newborns by ambulance, which are important for quality and effective care

The severity of SARS-CoV2 infection, Covid19 disease, should account for the diversity of human individual immunoinflammatory responses. Serum immunological markers during Covid19 illness may lead to individualized therapeutics with better outcomes. Efficient treatment for Covid19 may require: 1) early disease detection, 2) combined drug therapy for 3) targeting the virus replication cycle, and 4) individualized drug treatment for specific immunoinflammatory human profile responses administered in a 5) timely manner. Covid19 is unlikely to be the last emergent human disease with fast pandemic potential. Gathering knowledge on the individual human host profiles of immunoinflammatory responses is an opportunity that could lead us to understand individual differences in response to infection at the individual and population level, paving the way to faster, more efficient strategies to tackle upcoming infectious diseases. This is a position paper based on an integrative non-exhaustive literature revision.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to review data from randomized controlled trials to assess whether or not the supplementation of L-Arginine (L-Arg) is effective in reducing the incidence of preeclampsia (PE) in pregnancies at risk of developing the disorder. Methods: We aimed to systematic review randomized controlled trials, including those which compared L-Arg supplementation with placebo in pregnant women at high risk of PE development, analyzing PE incidence as the main outcome. Data were collected from MEDLINE/ Pubmed, EMBASE/ Elsevier, LILACS/ BVS and Cochrane. Results: A total of 46 papers were identified in the primary search. After analysis of eligibility, inclusion and exclusion criteria, two articles (which respected in detail all the stages of evaluation) were included in the present review. A risk of bias assessment was performed. Data analysis revealed that the incidence of PE was significantly lower in both studies, and no major adverse effects were reported. The limitations of this study were the lack of standardization between the trials analyzed and the relative low number of studies included. Conclusions: The supplementation with L-Arg appears to reduce the incidence of PE in pregnant women with high risk for its development.

Progress test has been created with the necessity of an assessment method align with problem-based learning. Although it was specifically created to overcome the limitations of traditional assessment for problem-based learning, nowadays is used by different type of curricula. In this paper, we first present the basic assumptions, the history, benefit and challenges of the progress test. Progress test overcomes many limitations of traditional assessment, such as validity and reliability. However, the implementation of progress test is a logistical challenge. In addition, we discuss the limitation of progress test when used as summative assessment, which may not always be aligned with constructivist theory. When adding feedback and methods of analysis that considers multiple testing, progress test is then align with constructivist theory. Finally, the use of progress test’s sub scores may lack validity because of the low number of items; thus, pass/fail decision should not be based on the sub scores, but only on general scores.

The aim of this paper is to characterize the Panic Disorder (PD) with an emphasis on diagnosis and treatment. PD is one of the anxiety disorders, characterized by recurrent panic attacks accompanied by a persistent preoccupation with additional attacks and maladaptive behavioral changes (American Psychiatric Association – DSM-V). Its etiology is not known, but should involve an interaction of genetic, developmental and environmental factors that result in changes in the functioning of some brain areas. The pharmacological treatment of choice is with the use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, which has a latency of 20 for 30 days for the beginning of the therapeutic effect

Objectives: To present an overview of neonatal screening for phenylketonuria in Brazil. Methodology: An electronic search was made in LILACS, employing the terms “neonatal screening” and “Brazil” and “Phenylketonuria”. Ten papers were selected for reading because they met the established criteria. Results: The studies were conducted in the states of Sergipe, Tocantins, Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, Santa Catarina, Mato Grosso and São Paulo, and the coverage ranged from 32.3% to 95%. Publications on the situation of neonatal screening for phenylketonuria are scarce in several states of our country, making it difficult to generalize and compare the data. Conclusions: Screening for phenylketonuria needs to be improved, especially with regard to the age of starting treatment. It is a complex public health program that requires greater attention to fully achieve its goals and increase its effectiveness

Immature teratoma of the ovary is a malignant neoplasm composed of undifferentiated tissue that arises from embryonic cells. And the mature teratoma is a benign neoplasm composed of differentiated tissues. This paper aims to report the case of a 21-year-old pacient with giant immature teratoma in left ovary associated with mature ovarian teratoma bilateral, due to the association of teratoma with mature teratoma ipsilateral and contralaterally, combined with its outstanding increased size (36 cm), is unusual. Exploratory laparotomy, with cytoreductive pan-hysterectomy and bilateral salpingooferectomia were performed. The patient received adjuvant chemotherapy with BEP regimen (bleomycin, etoposide and cisplatin) in four cycles with intervals of 21 days, coursing with good evolution

The use of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) is relatively infrequent in patients admitted to intensive care units (ICUs). However, “off-label” IVIG prescriptions for different conditions are highly prevalent. The aim of this paper is to review the existing evidence for the use of IVIG in patients admitted to ICUs, emphasizing non-infectious diseases and complications: hypogammaglobulinemia of the critically ill, hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), Kawasaki disease (KD), chylothorax, acute myocarditis, toxic shock syndrome (TSS), Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS)/toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), and sepsis. In conclusion, in critically ill patients, IVIG use is of benefit in KD, GBS, and TSS. It may benefit patients with fulminant acute myocarditis. The benefit is not proven in patients with HLH, chylothorax, and SJS/TEN.
