The main goal of this short paper is to prove the existence of rank 2 simple and special Ulrich bundles on a wide class of elliptic surfaces: namely, on regular Weierstrass fibrations \(\pi : S\rightarrow \mathbb {P}^1\). Alongside we also show the existence of rank 2 weakly Ulrich sheaves on arbitrary Weierstrass fibrations \(S\rightarrow C_0\) and we deal with the (non-)existence of rank one Ulrich bundles on them.

The aim of this paper is to generalize results known for the symplectic involutions on K3 surfaces to the order 3 symplectic automorphisms on K3 surfaces. In particular, we will explicitly describe the action induced on the lattice $\Lambda_{K3}$, isometric to the second cohomology group of a K3 surface, by a symplectic automorphism of order 3; we exhibit the maps $\pi_*$ and $\pi^*$ induced in cohomology by the rational quotient map $\pi:X\dashrightarrow Y$, where $X$ is a K3 surface admitting an order 3 symplectic automorphism $\sigma$ and $Y$ is the minimal resolution of the quotient $X/\sigma$; we deduce the relation between the N\'eron--Severi group of $X$ and the one of $Y$. Applying these results we describe explicit geometric examples and generalize the Shioda--Inose structures, relating Abelian surfaces admitting order 3 endomorphisms with certain specific K3 surfaces admitting particular order 3 symplectic automorphisms., Comment: 28 pages. In this paper we prove that a nodal hypersurface in P^4 with defect has at least (d-1)^2 nodes, and if it has at most 2(d-2)(d-1) nodes and d>6 then it contains either a plane or a quadric surface. Furthermore, we prove that a nodal double cover of P^3 ramified along a surface of degree 2d with defect has at least d(2d-1) nodes. In this paper we study graded Bourbaki ideals. It is a well-known fact that for torsionfree modules over Noetherian normal domains, Bourbaki sequences exist. We give criteria in terms of certain attached matrices for a homomorphism of modules to induce a Bourbaki sequence. Special attention is given to graded Bourbaki sequences. In the second part of the paper, we apply these results to the Koszul cycles of the residue class field and determine particular Bourbaki ideals explicitly. We also obtain in a special case the relationship between the structure of the Rees algebra of a Koszul cycle and the Rees algebra of its Bourbaki ideal., Comment: 29 pages

In this paper, we study noncommutative surface singularities arising from orders. The singularities we study are mild in the sense that they have finite representation type or, equivalently, are log terminal in the sense of the Mori minimal model program for orders (Chan and Ingalls in Invent Math 161(2):427–452, 2005). These were classified independently by Artin (in terms of ramification data) and Reiten–Van den Bergh (in terms of their AR-quivers). The first main goal of this paper is to connect these two classifications, by going through the finite subgroups $$G \subset {{{\,\mathrm{GL}\,}}_2}$$ , explicitly computing $$H^2(G,k^*)$$ , and then matching these up with Artin’s list of ramification data and Reiten–Van den Bergh’s AR-quivers. This provides a semi-independent proof of their classifications and extends the study of canonical orders in Chan et al. (Proc Lond Math Soc (3) 98(1):83–115, 2009) to the case of log terminal orders. A secondary goal of this paper is to study noncommutative analogues of plane curves which arise as follows. Let $$B = k_{\zeta } \llbracket x,y \rrbracket $$ be the skew power series ring where $$\zeta $$ is a root of unity, or more generally a terminal order over a complete local ring. We consider rings of the form $$A = B/(f)$$ where $$f \in Z(B)$$ which we interpret to be the ring of functions on a noncommutative plane curve. We classify those noncommutative plane curves which are of finite representation type and compute their AR-quivers.

In this paper, we introduce the associated geodesic-Einstein flow for a relative ample line bundle L over the total space $$\mathcal {X}$$ of a holomorphic fibration and obtain a few properties of that flow. In particular, we prove that the pair $$(\mathcal {X}, L)$$ is nonlinear semistable if the associated Donaldson type functional is bounded from below and the geodesic-Einstein flow has long-time existence property. We also define the associated S-classes and C-classes for $$(\mathcal {X}, L)$$ and obtain two inequalities between them when L admits a geodesic-Einstein metric. Finally, in the appendix of this paper, we prove that a relative ample line bundle is geodesic-Einstein if and only if an associated infinite rank bundle is Hermitian–Einstein.

T. Ikeda and H. Katsurada have developed the theory of the Gross-Keating invariant of a quadratic form in their recent papers [IK1] and [IK2]. In particular, they prove that the local factor of the Fourier coefficients of the Siegel-Eisenstein series is completely determined by the Gross-Keating invariant with extra datum, called the extended GK datum, in [IK2]. On the other hand, such local factor is a special case of the local densities for a pair of two quadratic forms. Thus we propose a general question if the local density can be determined by certain series of the Gross-Keating invariants and the extended GK datums. In this paper, we prove that the answer to this question is affirmative, for the local density of a single quadratic form defined over an unramified finite extension of $\mathbb{Z}_2$. In the appendix, T. Ikeda and H. Katsurada compute the local density formula of a single binary quadratic form defined over any finite extension of $\mathbb{Z}_2$., 32 pages

The standard $L$-functions of $\mathrm{GL}_{2n}$ expressed in terms of the Friedberg-Jacquet global zeta integrals have better structure for arithmetic applications, due to the relation of the linear periods with the modular symbols. The most technical obstacles towards such arithmetic applications are (1) non-vanishing of modular symbols at infinity and (2) the existance or construction of uniform cohomological test vectors. Problem (1) is also called the non-vanishing hypothesis at infinity, which was proved by Binyong Sun, by establishing the existence of certain cohomological test vectors. In this paper, we explicitly construct an archimedean local integral that produces a new type of a twisted linear functional $\Lambda_{s,\chi}$, which, when evaluated with our explicitly constructed cohomological vector, is equal to the local twisted standard $L$-function $L(s,\pi\otimes\chi)$ as a meromorphic function of $s\in \mathbb{C}$. With the relations between linear models and Shalika models, we establish (1) with an explicitly constructed cohomological vector, and hence recovers a non-vanishing result of Binyong Sun via a completely different method. Our main result indicates a complete solution to (2), which will be presented in a paper of Dihua Jiang, Binyong Sun and Fangyang Tian with full details and with applications to the global period relations for the twisted standard $L$-functions at critical places., Comment: 39 pages. In this paper we provide some quantitative mixed weak-type estimates assuming conditions that imply that $$uv\in A_{\infty }$$ for Calderon–Zygmund operators, rough singular integrals and commutators. The main novelty of this paper lies in the fact that we rely upon sparse domination results, pushing an approach to endpoint estimates that was introduced in Domingo-Salazar et al. (Bull Lond Math Soc 48(1):63–73, 2016) and extended in Lerner et al. (Adv Math 319:153–181, 2017) and Li et al. (J Geom Anal, 2018).

In this paper we use the blow-up surgery introduced in [G] to produce new higher dimensional partially hyperbolic flows. The main contribution of the paper is the slow-down construction which accompanies the blow-up construction. This new ingredient allows to dispose of a rather strong domination assumption which was crucial for results in [G]. Consequently we gain more flexibility which allows to construct new volume-preserving partially hyperbolic flows as well as new examples which are not fiberwise Anosov. The latter are produced by starting with the geodesic flow on complex hyperbolic manifold which admits a totally geodesic complex curve. In the present paper, we study fundamental groups of curves in positive characteristic. Let $$X^{\bullet }$$ be a pointed stable curve of type $$(g_{X}, n_{X})$$ over an algebraically closed field of characteristic $$p>0$$, $$\Gamma _{X^{\bullet }}$$ the dual semi-graph of $$X^{\bullet }$$, and $$\Pi _{X^{\bullet }}$$ the admissible fundamental group of $$X^{\bullet }$$. In the present paper, we study a kind of group-theoretical invariant $$\text {Avr}_{p}(\Pi _{X^{\bullet }})$$ associated to the isomorphism class of $$\Pi _{X^{\bullet }}$$ called the limit of p-averages of $$\Pi _{X^{\bullet }}$$, which plays a central role in the theory of anabelian geometry of curves over algebraically closed fields of positive characteristic. Without any assumptions concerning $$\Gamma _{X^{\bullet }}$$, we give a lower bound and a upper bound of $$\text {Avr}_{p}(\Pi _{X^{\bullet }})$$. In particular, we prove an explicit formula for $$\text {Avr}_{p}(\Pi _{X^{\bullet }})$$ under a certain assumption concerning $$\Gamma _{X^{\bullet }}$$ which generalizes a formula for $$\text {Avr}_{p}(\Pi _{X^{\bullet }})$$ obtained by Tamagawa. Moreover, if $$X^{\bullet }$$ is a component-generic pointed stable curve, we prove an explicit formula for $$\text {Avr}_{p}(\Pi _{X^{\bullet }})$$ without any assumptions concerning $$\Gamma _{X^{\bullet }}$$, which can be regarded as an averaged analogue of the results of Nakajima, Zhang, and Ozman–Pries concerning p-rank of abelian etale coverings of projective generic curves for admissible coverings of component-generic pointed stable curves.

Prime end boundaries $\partial_P\Omega$ of domains $\Omega$ are studied in the setting of complete doubling metric measure spaces supporting a $p$-Poincar\'e inequality. Notions of rectifiably (in)accessible- and (in)finitely far away prime ends are introduced and employed in classification of prime ends. We show that, for a given domain, the prime end capacity of the collection of all rectifiably inaccessible prime ends together will all non-singleton prime ends is zero. We show the resolutivity of continouous functions on $\partial_P\Omega$ which are Lipschitz continuous with respect to the Mazurkiewicz metric when restricted to the collection $\partial_{SP}\Omega$ of all accessible prime ends. Furthermore, bounded perturbations of such functions in $\partial_P\Omega\setminus\partial_{SP}\Omega$ yield the same Perron solution. In the final part of the paper, we demonstrate the (resolutive) Kellogg property with respect to the prime end boundary of bounded domains in the metric space. The Unitary Dual Problem is one of mathematics’ most important open problems: classify the irreducible unitary representations of a group. The general approach has been to classify all representations admitting non-degenerate invariant Hermitian forms, compute the signatures of those forms, and then determine which forms are positive definite. Signature character algorithms and formulas arising from deforming representations and analysing changes at reducibility points, as in Adams et al. (Unitary representations of real reductive groups (ArXiv e-prints), 2012) and Yee (Represent Theory 9:638–677, 2005), produce very complicated formulas or algorithms from the resulting recursion. This paper shows that in the case of irreducible Verma modules all of the complexity can be encapsulated by the affine Hecke algebra: for compact real forms and for alcoves corresponding to translations of the fundamental alcove by a regular weight, signature characters of irreducible Verma modules are in fact “negatives” of Hall–Littlewood polynomial summands evaluated at $$q=-\,1$$ times a version of the Weyl denominator, establishing a simple signature character formula and drawing an important connection between signature characters and the affine Hecke algebra. Signature characters of irreducible highest weight modules are shown to be related to Kazhdan-Lusztig basis elements. This paper also handles noncompact real forms. The current state of the art for the unitary dual is a computer algorithm for determining if a given representation is unitary. These results suggest the potential to move the state of the art to a closed form classification for the entire unitary dual.

Kisin and Pappas constructed integral models of Hodge-type Shimura varieties with parahoric level structure at $p>2$, such that the formal neighbourhood of a mod~$p$ point can be interpreted as a deformation space of $p$-divisible group with some Tate cycles (generalising Faltings' construction). In this paper, we study the central leaf and the closed Newton stratum in the formal neighbourhoods of mod~$p$ points of Kisin-Pappas integral models with parahoric level structure; namely, we obtain the dimension of central leaves and the almost product structure of Newton strata. In the case of hyperspecial level strucure (i.e., in the good reduction case), our main results were already obtained by Hamacher, and the result of this paper holds for ramified groups as well., 33 pages; section 2.5 added to fill in the gap in the earlier version

From string theory, the notion of deformed Hermitian Yang–Mills connections has been introduced by Marino et al. (J High Energy Phys Paper 5, 2000). After that, Leung et al. (Adv Theor Math Phys 4(6):1319–1341, 2000) proved that it naturally appears as mirror objects of special Lagrangian submanifolds via Fourier–Mukai transform between dual torus fibrations. In their paper, some conditions are imposed for simplicity. In this paper, data to glue their construction on tropical manifolds are proposed and a generalization of the correspondence is proved without the assumption that the Lagrangian submanifold is a section of the torus fibration.

This is the first in a series of two papers concerned with relative birational geometry of algebraic spaces. In this paper, we study Prufer spaces and Prufer pairs of algebraic spaces that generalize spectra of Prufer rings. As a particular case of Prufer spaces we introduce valuation algebraic spaces, and use them to establish valuative criteria of separatedness and properness that sharpen the standard criteria. In a sequel paper, we introduce a version of Riemann–Zariski spaces, and prove Nagata’s compactification theorem for algebraic spaces.

In this paper we prove several related results concerning smooth \(\mathbb{Z }_p\) or \(\mathbb{S }^1\) actions on \(4\)-manifolds. We show that there exists an infinite sequence of smooth \(4\)-manifolds \(X_n\), \(n\ge 2\), which have the same integral homology and intersection form and the same Seiberg-Witten invariant, such that each \(X_n\) supports no smooth \(\mathbb{S }^1\)-actions but admits a smooth \(\mathbb{Z }_n\)-action. In order to construct such manifolds, we devise a method for annihilating smooth \(\mathbb{S }^1\)-actions on \(4\)-manifolds using Fintushel-Stern knot surgery, and apply it to the Kodaira-Thurston manifold in an equivariant setting. Finally, the method for annihilating smooth \(\mathbb{S }^1\)-actions relies on a new obstruction we derived in this paper for existence of smooth \(\mathbb{S }^1\)-actions on a \(4\)-manifold: the fundamental group of a smooth \(\mathbb{S }^1\)-four-manifold with nonzero Seiberg-Witten invariant must have infinite center. We also include a discussion on various analogous or related results in the literature, including locally linear actions or smooth actions in dimensions other than four.

Aim of this paper is a finer analysis of the group of flat chains with coefficients in $Z_p$ introduced in a recent paper by Ambrosio-Katz, by taking quotients of the group of integer rectifiable currents, along the lines of the the Ziemer and Federer approach. We investigate the typical questions of the theory of currents, namely rectifiability of the measure-theoretic support and boundary rectifiability. Our main result can also be interpreted as a closure theorem for the class of integer rectifiable currents with respect to a (much) weaker convergence, induced by flat distance mod $p$, and with respect to weaker mass bounds. A crucial tool in many proofs is the isoperimetric inequality proved by Ambrosio-Katz with universal constants.

We consider a special class of unipotent periods for automorphic forms on a finite cover of a reductive adelic group $$\mathbf {G}(\mathbb {A}_\mathbb {K})$$ G ( A K ) , which we refer to as Fourier coefficients associated to the data of a ‘Whittaker pair’. We describe a quasi-order on Fourier coefficients, and an algorithm that gives an explicit formula for any coefficient in terms of integrals and sums involving higher coefficients. The maximal elements for the quasi-order are ‘Levi-distinguished’ Fourier coefficients, which correspond to taking the constant term along the unipotent radical of a parabolic subgroup, and then further taking a Fourier coefficient with respect to a $${\mathbb K}$$ K -distinguished nilpotent orbit in the Levi quotient. Thus one can express any Fourier coefficient, including the form itself, in terms of higher Levi-distinguished coefficients. In companion papers we use this result to determine explicit Fourier expansions of minimal and next-to-minimal automorphic forms on split simply-laced reductive groups, and to obtain Euler product decompositions of certain Fourier coefficients.

In this paper, we study ICE-closed (= Image-Cokernel-Extension-closed) subcategories of an abelian length category using torsion classes. To each interval $[\mathcal{U},\mathcal{T}]$ in the lattice of torsion classes, we associate a subcategory $\mathcal{T} \cap \mathcal{U}^\perp$ called the heart. We show that every ICE-closed subcategory can be realized as a heart of some interval of torsion classes, and give a lattice-theoretic characterization of intervals whose hearts are ICE-closed. In particular, we prove that ICE-closed subcategories are precisely torsion classes in some wide subcategories. For an artin algebra, we introduce the notion of wide $\tau$-tilting modules as a generalization of support $\tau$-tilting modules. Then we establish a bijection between wide $\tau$-tilting modules and doubly functorially finite ICE-closed subcategories, which extends Adachi--Iyama--Reiten's bijection on torsion classes. For the hereditary case, we discuss the Hasse quiver of the poset of ICE-closed subcategories by introducing a mutation of rigid modules., Comment: 31 pages, final version, to appear in Math. Z. Let $$M^{(i)}$$ , $$i=1,2,\ldots , n$$ , be the boundaries of unbounded domains $$\Omega ^{(i)}$$ of finite type in $$\mathbb {C}^2$$ , and let $$\Box _b^{(i)}$$ be the Kohn Laplacian on $$M^{(i)}$$ . In this paper, we study multivariable spectral multipliers $$m(\Box _b^{(1)},\ldots , \Box _b^{(n)})$$ acting on the Shilov boundary $${\widetilde{M}}=M^{(1)} \times \cdots \times M^{(n)}$$ of the product domain $$\Omega ^{(1)}\times \cdots \times \Omega ^{(n)}$$ . We show that if a function $$m(\lambda _1, \ldots ,\lambda _n)$$ satisfies a Marcinkiewicz-type smoothness condition defined using Sobolev norms, then the spectral multiplier operator $$m(\Box _b^{(1)}, \ldots , \Box _b^{(n)})$$ is a product Calderon–Zygmund operator of Journe type.

In [25], higher genus Gromov–Witten invariants of the stack of r-th roots of a smooth projective variety X along a smooth divisor D are shown to be polynomials in r. In this paper we study the degrees and coefficients of these polynomials.

In this paper, motivated by a $\tau$-tilting version of the Brauer-Thrall Conjectures, we study general properties of band modules and their endomorphisms in the module category of a finite dimensional algebra. As an application we describe properties of torsion classes containing band modules. Furthermore, we show that a special biserial algebra is $\tau$-tilting finite if and only if no band module is a brick. We also recover a criterion for the $\tau$-tilting finiteness of Brauer graph algebras in terms of the Brauer graph., Comment: To appear in Mathematische Zeitschrift. The Alperin–McKay conjecture relates height zero characters of an $$\ell $$ -block with the ones of its Brauer correspondent. This conjecture has been reduced to the so-called inductive Alperin–McKay conditions about quasi-simple groups by the third author. The validity of those conditions is still open for groups of Lie type. The present paper describes characters of height zero in $$\ell $$ -blocks of groups of Lie type over a field with q elements when $$\ell $$ divides $$q-1$$ . We also give information about $$\ell $$ -blocks and Brauer correspondents. As an application we show that quasi-simple groups of type $$\mathsf C$$ over $$\mathbb {F}_q$$ satisfy the inductive Alperin–McKay conditions for primes $$\ell \ge 5$$ and dividing $$q-1$$ . Some methods to that end are adapted from Malle and Spath (Ann. Math. (2) 184:869–908, 2016).

Let $$p\equiv 2,5\ \mathrm {mod}\ 9$$ be a prime. In this paper, we prove that at least one of 3p and $$3p^2$$ is a cube sum by constructing certain nontrivial Heegner points. We also establish the explicit Gross–Zagier formulae for these Heegner points and give variants of the Birch and Swinnerton–Dyer conjecture of the related elliptic curves.

In [David-Toro 15] and [David-Engelstein-Toro 19], (some of) the authors studied almost minimizers for functionals of the type first studied by Alt and Caffarelli in [Alt-Caffarelli 81] and Alt, Caffarelli and Friedman in [Alt-Caffarelli-Friedman 84]. In this paper we study the regularity of almost minimizers to energy functionals with variable coefficients (as opposed to [DT15, DET19. AC 81] and [ACF84] which deal only with the "Laplacian" setting). We prove Lipschitz regularity up to, and across, the free boundary, generalizing the results of [David-Toro 15] to the variable coefficient setting., Comment: 41 pages. In this paper, we show that every invertible subsheaf of the cotangent bundle of a smooth globally F-regular threefold of characteristic $$p>3$$ has Iitaka dimension less than or equal to one.

In this paper we study the problem of extension of holomorphic sections of adjoint line bundles/vector bundles from reduced unions of strata of divisors. We prove a qualitative extension theorem for adjoint bundles. The main technical result is an extension theorem of the Ohsawa–Takegoshi type.

In this paper, motivated by the Holder–Łojasiewicz inequality, we present some inequalities to uniformly estimate the volumes of the images or pre-images of definable families of sets through maps definable in o-minimal structures, via the volumes of the families involved.

In this paper, we study Steinness of nonpositively or nonnegatively curved strongly convex Kahler Finsler manifolds. In particular, we prove that every strongly convex Kahler Finsler manifold with a pole and nonpositive bisectional curvature must be Stein. In addition, every complete noncompact and strongly convex Kahler Berwald manifold is Stein if it has positive flag curvature everywhere, or it has nonnegative flag curvature and everywhere positive holomorphic bisectional curvature.

For $$n,q\ge 2$$ and $$u\in K_q(F)/n$$ denote by $$L^{(n)}(u)$$ the minimal number k such that u is the sum of k symbols in $$K_q(F)/n$$ . For any $$m\ge 1$$ we give a sufficient condition on u for the equality $$L^{(mn)}(mu)= L^{(n)}(u)$$ . Using the index reduction formula for central simple algebras, we also construct examples with $$L^{(mn)}(mu) < L^{(n)}(u)$$ for any noncoprime m and n. In the case we give an upper bound for $$ L^{(n)}(u)\over {L^{(mn)}(mu)}$$ .

Let $(X,L_{X})$ be an $n$-dimensional polarized manifold. Let $D$ be a smooth hypersurface defined by a holomorphic section of $L_{X}$. In this paper, we study norm almost periodic measures on locally compact Abelian groups. First, we show that the norm almost periodicity of $\mu$ is equivalent to the equi-Bohr almost periodicity of $\mu*g$ for all $g$ in a fixed family of functions. In this paper, we treat the estimate on exponential sums over cubes of primes in short intervals, and improve a previous bound of Kumchev (in: Number Theory: Arithmetic in Shangri-La (Proc. China-Japan Seminar Number Theory), pp. 116–131, World Scientific, Singapore, 2013). Moreover, we present some applications to the cubic Waring–Goldbach problem.

In this paper, we study the properties of coverings of locally conformally Kahler (LCK) spaces with singularities. We begin by proving that a space is LCK if any only if its universal cover is Kahler, thereby generalizing a result from Ioniţa and Preda (Manuscripta Math, https://doi.org/10.1007/s00229-019-01141-w , 2019). We then show that a complex space which projects over an LCK space with discrete fibers must also carry an LCK structure.

Let $X_w$ be a Schubert subvariety of a cominuscule Grassmannian $X$, and let $\mu:T^*X\rightarrow\mathcal N$ be the Springer map from the cotangent bundle of $X$ to the nilpotent cone $\mathcal N$. In this paper, we construct a resolution of singularities for the conormal variety $T^*_XX_w$ of $X_w$ in $X$. Further, for $X$ the usual or symplectic Grassmannian, we compute a system of equations defining $T^*_XX_w$ as a subvariety of the cotangent bundle $T^*X$ set-theoretically. This also yields a system of defining equations for the corresponding orbital varieties $\mu(T^*_XX_w)$. Inspired by the system of defining equations, we conjecture a type-independent equality, namely $T^*_XX_w=\pi^{-1}(X_w)\cap\mu^{-1}(\mu(T^*_XX_w))$. The set-theoretic version of this conjecture follows from this work and previous work for any cominuscule Grassmannian of type A, B, or C., Comment: Version 1 included similar results in type D. In this paper, we compute Tian’s $$\alpha _{m,k}^{K\times K}$$ -invariant on a polarized G-group compactification, where K denotes a maximal compact subgroup of a connected complex reductive group G. We prove that Tian’s conjecture (see Conjecture 1.1 below) is true for $$\alpha _{m,k}^{K\times K}$$ -invariant on such manifolds when $$k=1$$ , but it fails in general by producing counter-examples when $$k\ge 2$$ .

In the present paper, we establish a “group-theoretic” algorithm for reconstructing, from the etale fundamental group of a suitable proper normal variety over a real closed field, the geometric subgroup of the etale fundamental group of the proper normal variety.

We study cluster algebras arising from cluster tubes. We obtain categorical interpretations for $g$-vectors, $c$-vectors and denominator vectors for cluster algebras of type $\mathrm{C}$ with respect to arbitrary initial seeds. In particular, a denominator theorem has been proved, which enables us to establish the linearly independence of denominator vectors of cluster variables from the same cluster for cluster algebras of type $\mathrm{A}\mathrm{B}\mathrm{C}$. Diophantine approximation in dynamical systems concerns the Diophantine properties of the orbits. In classic Diophantine approximation, the powerful mass transference principle established by Beresnevich and Velani provides a general principle to the dimension for a limsup set. In this paper, we aim at finding a general principle for the dimension of the limsup set arising in a general expanding dynamical system. More precisely, let (X, T) be a topological dynamical system where X is a compact metric space and $$T:X\rightarrow X$$ is an expanding continuous transformation. Given $$y_o\in X$$ , we consider the following limsup set $$\mathcal {W}(T,f)$$ , driven by the dynamical system (X, T), $$\begin{aligned} \Big \{x\in X: x\in B(z, e^{-S_n(f+\log |T'|)(z)})\ \text {for some}\ z\in T^{-n}y_o\ {\text {with infinitely many}}\ n\in \mathbb {N}\Big \}, \end{aligned}$$ where $$\log |T'|$$ is a function reflecting the local conformality of the transformation T, f is a non-negative continuous function over X, and $$S_n (f+ \log |T'|) (z)$$ denotes the ergodic sum $$(f+ \log |T'|) (z)+\cdots +(f+ \log |T'|) (T^{n-1} z)$$ . By proposing a dynamical ubiquity property assumed on the system (X, T), we obtain that the dimensions of X and $$\mathcal {W}(T,f)$$ are both related to the Bowen-Manning-McCluskey formulae, namely the solution to the pressure functions $$\begin{aligned} \texttt {P}(-t\log |T'|)=0\ \text {and}\ \texttt {P}(-t(\log |T'|+f))=0, \text {respectively}. \end{aligned}$$ We call this phenomenon a dynamical dimension transference principle, because of its partial analogy with the mass transference principle. This general principle unifies and extends some known results which were considered only separatedly before. In this paper, we derive that every n-dimensional ( $$2\le n\le 7$$ ) special Lagrangian cones in $${\mathbb {R}}^{n}\times {\mathbb {R}}^{n}$$ with flat normal bundle must be flat. And we also derive a rigidity result under a certain restriction on Gauss map.

It is widely conjectured that every sufficiently large integer satisfying certain necessary congruence conditions is the sum of 4 cubes of prime numbers. As an approximation to this conjecture, we shall establish two results in this paper. Firstly, we show that every large odd integer is the sum of a prime, 4 cubes of primes and 15 powers of 2. Secondly, we show that the conjecture is true for at least $$8.25\%$$ of the positive integers.

In the present paper, we prove an infinite dimensional reversible Kolmogorov-Arnold-Moser (KAM) theorem. As an application, we study the existence of KAM tori for a class of two dimensional (2D) non-Hamiltonian completely resonant beam equations with derivative nonlinearities. The Birkhoff normal form theory is also used since there are no external parameters in the equations.

In this paper we study the Gan–Gross–Prasad problem for unitary groups over finite fields. Our results provide complete answers for unipotent representations, and we obtain the explicit branching of these representations.

We prove the existence of similar and multi-similar point configurations (or simplexes) in sets of fractional Hausdorff measure in Euclidean space. These results can be viewed as variants, for thin sets, of theorems for sets of positive density in $\Bbb R^d$ due to Furstenberg, Katznelson and Weiss \cite{FKW90}, Bourgain \cite{B86} and Ziegler \cite{Z06}. Let $d \ge 2$ and $E\subset {\Bbb R}^d$ be a compact set. For $k\ge 1$, define $$\Delta_k(E)=\left\{\left(|x^1-x^2|, \dots, |x^i-x^j|,\dots, |x^k-x^{k+1}|\right): \left\{x^i\right\}_{i=1}^{k+1}\subset E\right\} \subset {\Bbb R}^{k(k+1)/2}, $$ the {\it $(k+1)$-point configuration set} of $E$. For $k\le d$, this is (up to permutations) the set of congruences of $(k+1)$-point configurations in $E$; for $k>d$, it is the edge-length set of $(k+1)$-graphs whose vertices are in $E$. Previous works by a number of authors have found values $s_{k,d}s_{k,d}$, then $\Delta_k(E)$ has positive Lebesgue measure. In this paper we study more refined properties of $\Delta_k(E)$, namely the existence of (exactly) similar or multi--similar configurations. For $r\in\Bbb R,\, r>0$, let $$\Delta_{k}^{r}(E):=\left\{\vec{t}\in \Delta_k\left(E\right): r\vec{t}\in \Delta_k\left(E\right)\right\}\subset \Delta_k\left(E\right).$$ We show that for all $E$ with Hausdorff dimension $>s_{k,d}$, a natural measure $\nu_k$ on $\Delta_k(E)$ and all $r\in\Bbb R_+$, one has $\nu_k\left(\Delta_{k}^{r}\left(E\right)\right)>0$. Thus, there exist many pairs, $\{x^1, x^2, \dots, x^{k+1}\}$ and $\{y^1, y^2, \dots, y^{k+1}\}$, in $E$ which are similar by the scaling factor $r$. The magneto-micropolar equations are important models in fluid mechanics and material sciences. This paper focuses on the global regularity problem on the 2D magneto-micropolar equations with fractional dissipation. We establish the global regularity for three important fractional dissipation cases. Direct energy estimates are not sufficient to obtain the desired global a priori bounds in each case. To overcome the difficulties, we employ various technics including the regularization of generalized heat operators on the Fourier frequency localized functions, logarithmic Sobolev interpolation inequalities and the maximal regularity property of the heat operator.

In this paper we introduce a new class of domains— log-type convex domains, which have no boundary regularity assumptions. Then we will localize the Kobayashi metric in log-type convex subdomains. As an application, we prove a local version of continuous extension of rough isometric maps between two bounded domains with log-type convex Dini-smooth boundary points. Moreover we prove that the Teichmuller space $${\mathcal {T}}_{g,n}$$ is not biholomorphic to any bounded pseudoconvex domain in $$\mathbb C^{3g-3+n}$$ which is locally log-type convex near some boundary point.

In this paper, we study the non-vanishing of the central values of the Rankin-Selberg L-function of two adelic Hilbert primitive forms $$\mathbf{f}$$ and $$\mathbf{g}$$ , both of which have varying weight parameter k. We prove that, for sufficiently large $$k\in 2{\mathbb {N}}^n$$ , there are at least $$\frac{\mathrm{N}(k)}{\log ^c \mathrm{N}(k)}$$ adelic Hilbert primitive forms $$\mathbf{f}$$ of weight k for which $$L(\frac{1}{2}, \mathbf{f}\otimes \mathbf{g})$$ are nonzero.
