The process of sorting or categorizing objects or information about these objects into clusters according to certain criteria is a fundamental procedure in data analysis. Where it is feasible to determine the distance metric for any pair of objects, the significance and reliability of the separation can be evaluated by calculating the separation/segregation power (SP) index proposed herein. The latter index is the ratio of the average inter distance to the average intra distance, independent of the scale parameter. Here, the calculated SP value is compared to its statistical distribution obtained by a simulation study for a given partition under the homogeneity null hypothesis to draw a conclusion using standard statistical procedures. The proposed concept is illustrated using three examples representing different types of objects under study. Some general considerations are given regarding the nature of the SP distribution under the null hypothesis and its dependence on the number of divisions and the amount of data within them. In an outstanding article published in 2008, Suzuki obtained a nice generalization of the Banach contraction principle, from which a characterization of metric completeness was derived. Although Suzuki's theorem has been successfully generalized and extended in several directions and contexts, we here show by means of a simple example that the problem of achieving, in an obvious way, its full extension to the framework of w-distances does not have an emphatic response. Motivated by this fact, we introduce the concept of presymmetric w-distance on metric spaces. We also give some properties and examples of this new structure and show that it provides a reasonable setting to obtain a real and hardly forced w-distance generalization of Suzuki's theorem. This is realized in our main result, which consists of a fixed point theorem that involves presymmetric w-distances and certain contractions of Suzuki-type. We also discuss the relationship between our main result and the well-known w-distance full generalization of the Banach contraction principle, due to Suzuki and Takahashi. Connected to this approach, we prove another fixed point result that compares with our main result through some examples. The purpose of this study is to present fixed-point results for Suzuki-type multi-valued maps using relation theory. We examine a range of implications that arise from our primary discovery. Furthermore, we present two substantial cases that illustrate the importance of our main theorem. In addition, we examine the stability of fixed-point sets for multi-valued maps and the concept of well-posedness. The notion of convergence wins its own important part in the branch of Topology. Convergences in metric spaces, topological spaces, fuzzy topological spaces, fuzzy metric spaces, partially ordered sets (in short, posets), and fuzzy ordered sets (in short, fosets) develop significant chapters that attract the interest of many studies. In particular, statistical and ideal convergences play their own important role in all these areas. A lot of studies have been devoted to these special convergences, and many results have been proven. As a consequence, the necessity to produce and extend new results arises. Since there are many results on different kinds of convergences in different areas, we present a review paper on this research topic in order to collect the most essential results, which leads us to provide open questions for further investigation. More precisely, we present and gather definitions and results which have been proven for different kinds of convergences, mainly on statistical/ideal convergences, in metric spaces, topological spaces, fuzzy topological spaces, fuzzy metric spaces, posets, and fosets. Based on this presentation, we provide new open problems for further investigation on related topics. Here, we prove some general results that allow us to ensure that specific representations (as well as extensions) of certain Lipschitz operators exist, provided we have some additional information about the underlying space, in the context of what we call enriched metric spaces. In this conceptual framework, we introduce some new classes of Lipschitz operators whose definition depends on the notion of metric coordinate system, which are defined by specific dominance inequalities involving summations of distances between certain points in the space. We analyze "Pietsch Theorem inspired factorizations" through subspaces of ℓ ∞ and L 1 , which are proved to characterize when a given metric space is Lipschitz isomorphic to a metric subspace of these spaces. In the context of a complete metric space, we will consider the common fixed point problem for two self operators. The operators are assumed to satisfy a general contraction type condition inspired by the Ćirić fixed point theorems. Under some appropriate conditions we establish existence, uniqueness and approximation results for the common fixed point. In the same framework, the second problem is to study various stability properties. More precisely, we will obtain sufficient conditions assuring that the common fixed point problem is well-posed and has the Ulam–Hyers stability, as well as the Ostrowski property for the considered problem. Some examples and applications are finally given in order to illustrate the abstract theorems proposed in the first part of the paper. The theory of metric spaces is a convenient and very powerful way of examining the behavior of numerous mathematical models. In a previous paper, a new operation between functions on a compact real interval called fractal convolution has been introduced. The construction was done in the framework of iterated function systems and fractal theory. In this article we extract the main features of this association, and consider binary operations in metric spaces satisfying properties as idempotency and inequalities related to the distance between operated elements with the same right or left factor (side inequalities). Important examples are the logical disjunction and conjunction in the set of integers modulo 2 and the union of compact sets, besides the aforementioned fractal convolution. The operations described are called in the present paper convolutions of two elements of a metric space E. We deduce several properties of these associations, coming from the considered initial conditions. Thereafter, we define self-operators (maps) on E by using the convolution with a fixed component. When E is a Banach or Hilbert space, we add some hypotheses inspired in the fractal convolution of maps, and construct in this way convolved Schauder and Riesz bases, Bessel sequences and frames for the space. In this manuscript we discuss, consider, generalize, improve and unify several recent results for so-called F-contraction-type mappings in the framework of complete metric spaces. We also introduce (φ , F) -weak contraction and establish the corresponding fixed point result. Using our new approach for the proof that a Picard sequence is a Cauchy in metric space, our obtained results complement and enrich several methods in the existing literature. In this paper, we introduce some common fixed point theorems for two distinct self-mappings in the setting of metric spaces by using the notion of a simulation function introduced in 2015. The contractivity conditions have not to be verified for all pairs of points of the space because it is endowed with an antecedent conditions. In this manuscript, we define a new contraction mapping, Pata-Ćirić type contraction at a point, that merges distinct contractions defined by Seghal, Pata and Ćirić. When finding an original proof to a known result describing expansive mappings on compact metric spaces as surjective isometries, we reveal that relaxing the condition of compactness to total boundedness preserves the isometry property and nearly that of surjectivity. While a counterexample is found showing that the converse to the above descriptions do not hold, we are able to characterize boundedness in terms of specific expansions we call anticontractions. In this paper, in the setting of Δ -symmetric quasi-metric spaces, the existence and uniqueness of a fixed point of certain operators are scrutinized carefully by using simulation functions.
