To realize an automatic diagnosis of rotating machinery structure faults, this paper presents a novel fault diagnosis model based on adaptive multiband filter and stacked autoencoders (SAEs). First, to solve the problem where the actual rotating frequency and its harmonics cannot be accurately extracted in engineering applications, an improved adaptive multiband filtering method is designed. This method takes the theoretical rotating frequency as the search center, extracts the maximum within the positive and negative deviation as the actual rotating frequency, and sets a threshold according to the actual value to realize multiband filtering. This method can effectively remove background noise and accurately extract the actual rotating frequency and its harmonics. Second, an unsupervised SAE multiclassification model is established to realize an automatic diagnosis of fault types. This model can automatically extract the in-depth features of the filtered signal and improve the fault classification accuracy. Third, engineering and comparative experiments were carried out to verify the effectiveness and superiority of this model. Results show that the proposed automatic diagnosis model can extract the characteristic components abundantly and accurately recognize rotating machinery structural faults.

When compared to other types of skin cancer, melanoma is the deadliest. However, those who are diagnosed early on have a better prognosis for the purpose of providing a supplementary opinion to experts; various methods of spontaneous melanoma recognition and diagnosis have been investigated by different researchers. Because of the imbalance between classes, building models from existing information has proven difficult. Machine learning algorithms paired with imbalanced basis training approaches are being evaluated for their performance on the melanoma diagnosis challenge in this study. There were 200 dermoscopic photos in which patterns of skin lesions could be extracted using the VGG16, VGG19, Inception, and ResNet convolutional neural network architectures with the ABCD rule. After employing attribute selection with GS and training data balance using Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique and Edited Nearest Neighbor rule, the random forest classifier had a sensitivity of nearly 93% and a kappa index ( k − index ) of 78%.

To improve the efficiency of cable force adjustment of composite saddle anchor span of single-tower single-span ground-anchored suspension bridge, a strain incremental adjustment method is proposed. The analytical calculation model is established according to the relative spatial position of the cable strand and the saddle groove of the composite saddle, and the target cable force of the cable strands is calculated by the target position of the composite saddle in the cable-stayed bridge and construction phases. Considering the coupling relationship between the cable strand and the composite saddle, the calculation formula of the change in main span main cable force and anchor span cable force after the adjustment of a single cable strand is derived. Based on the condition of equilibrium of forces along the slip surface of the composite saddle, the slip amount of composite saddle after a round of cable strand adjustment is obtained, then the adjustment amount of actual construction of the cable strands is also obtained through the strain incremental adjustment method. With the help of a numerical simulation platform, the calculation program of the cable force adjustment of composite saddle anchor span is established by an iterative solution method. In this paper, taking the Jinsha River Bridge at Hutiao Gorge as a research object, the adjustment of cable force of composite saddle anchor span is analyzed and calculated. The research results indicate that the calculated cable force is obtained by the strain incremental adjustment method, and it is similar to the measured cable force. The cable strand adjustment and optimization method avoids excessive repeated stretching and relaxation of a single cable strand in the process of multiple rounds of cable strand adjustment and reduces the amount of construction adjustment. This method can effectively reduce the times of cable strand adjustment and improve the efficiency of adjusting the anchor span cable force.

The actual operating state of the wind turbine group is influenced by the wake effect and control mode; however, the current models cannot describe the actual operating state very well. A dynamic equivalent modeling method for a doubly fed wind power generator is proposed on the basis of ensuring the accurate description of the wind turbine group. As the clustering index, dominant variables are used in the hierarchical clustering algorithm, which are extracted by principal component analysis. Three dynamic equivalent models of 24 wind turbines are established using PSCAD software platform, which use 13 state variables, wind speed, and dominant variables as clustering indexes, respectively. Furthermore, the active power and reactive power output curves of wind farm are simulated in the case of the three-phase short-circuit fault on the system side or wind speed fluctuation, respectively. The simulation results demonstrate that it is reasonable and effective to extract slip ratio and wind turbine torque as clustering index, and the maximal relative error between the dominant variable equivalent model and 13-state-variable model is only 9.9%, which is greatly lower than that of the wind speed model, K-means clustering model, neural network model, and support vector machine model. This model is easy to implement and has wider application prospect, especially for characteristics analysis of large-scale wind farm connected to power grid.

In this paper, we address the issues of the trade-off between QoS and QoE with an analytical analysis based on mathematical modeling under a unified normalization measurement. We model through computation the awareness of QoS and QoE with a strategy of quality-aware QoE-QoS coordination. A balanced coordination is proposed using modeling correlations between user experience and service performance. The main contributions of this paper include three main parts. First, a comprehensive mapping is modeled in a close form to illustrate the analytic correlations between QoS, QoE, and data communication. Second, an analytical method to analyze and coordinate the nonlinear trade-off between QoE and QoS is proposed based on the theoretical proof with discussions on necessary-sufficient conditions. Third, an algorithmic framework is provided to perform QoE-QoS coordination based on quality-awareness computing with a test proof. An assessment model for user experience quantification is built with the mean opinion score (MOS) test. Quality-aware QoE and QoS models are built based on the subspace learning strategy. Simulations are given to prove the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. The results show that the operations with the proposed solution can be obtained analytically with balanced efficiency in both user experience performance and network performance.

To enable power generation companies to make full use of effective wind energy resources and grid companies to correctly schedule wind power, this paper proposes a model of offshore wind power forecast considering the variation of wind speed in second-level time scale. First, data preprocessing is utilized to process the abnormal data and complete the normalization of offshore wind speed and wind power. Then, a wind speed prediction model is established in the second time scale through the differential smoothing power sequence. Finally, a rolling PSO-LSTM memory network is authorized to realize the prediction of second-level time scale wind speed and power. An offshore wind power case is utilized to illustrate and characterize the performance of the wind power forecast model.

Diabetes is a very fast-growing disease in India, with currently more than 72 million patients. Prolonged diabetes (about almost 20 years) can cause serious loss to the tiny blood vessels and neurons in the patient eyes, called diabetic retinopathy (DR). This first causes occlusion and then rapid vision loss. The symptoms of the disease are not very conspicuous in its early stage. The disease is featured by the formation of bloated structures in the retinal area called microaneurysms. Because of negligence, the condition of the eye worsens into the generation of more severe blots and damage to retinal vessels causing complete loss of vision. Early screening and monitoring of DR can reduce the risk of vision loss in patients with high possibilities. But the diabetic retinopathy detection and its classification by a human, is a challenging and error-prone task, because of the complexity of the image captured by color fundus photography. Machine learning algorithms armed with some feature extraction techniques have been employed earlier to detect and classify the levels of DR. However, these techniques provide below-par accuracy. Now, with the advent of deep learning (DL) techniques in computer vision, it has become possible to achieve very high levels of accuracy. DL models are an abstraction of the human brain coupled with the eyes. To create a model from scratch and train it is a cumbersome task requiring a huge amount of images. This deficiency of the DL techniques can be patched up by employing another technique to a task called transfer learning. In this, a DL model is trained on image metadata, and to learn features it used hundreds of classes from the DR fundus images. This enables professionals to create models capable of classifying unseen images into a proper grade or level with acceptable accuracy. This paper proposed a DL model coupled with different classifiers to classify the fundus image into its correct class of severity. We have trained the model on IDRD images and it has proven to show very high accuracy.

The precision of traditional deformation resistance model is limited, which leads to the inaccuracy of the existing rolling force model. In this paper, the back propagation (BP) neural network model was established according to the industrial big data to accurately predict the deformation resistance. Then, a new rolling force model was established by using the BP neural network model. During the establishment of the neural network model, the data set of deformation resistance was established, which was calculated back from the actual rolling force data. Based on the data set after normalization, the BP neural network model of deformation resistance was established through the optimization of algorithm and network structure. It is shown that both the prediction accuracy of the neural network model on the training set and the test set are high, indicating that the generalization ability of the model is strong. The neural network model of the deformation resistance is compared with the theoretical one, and the maximum error is only 3.96%. Furthermore, by comparison with the traditional rolling force model, it is found that the prediction accuracy of the rolling force model imbedding with the present neural network model is improved obviously. The maximum error of the present rolling force model is just 3.86%. The research in this paper provides a new way to improve the prediction accuracy of rolling force model.

Graph operations play an important role to constructing complex network structures from simple graphs, and these complex networks play vital roles in different fields such as computer science, chemistry, and social sciences. Computation of topological indices of these complex network structures via graph operation is an important task. In this study, we defined two new variants of graph products, namely, corona join and subdivision vertex join products and investigated exact expressions of the first and second Zagreb indices and first reformulated Zagreb index for these new products.

This research proposed the design and calculations of ultra-low power (ULP) Doherty power amplifier (PA) using 65 nm CMOS technology. Both the main and the peaking amplifiers are designed and optimized using equivalent lumped parameters and power combiner models. The operation has been performed in RF-nMOS subthreshold or triode region to achieve ultra-low power (ULP) and to improve the linearity of the overall power amplifier (PA). The novel design consumes a DC power of 2.1 mW, power-added efficiency (PAE) of 29.8%, operating at 2.4 GHz band, and output referred 1 dB compression point at 4.1dBm. The simulation results show a very good capability of drive current, high gain, and very low input and output insertion losses.

Representation and classification of color texture generate considerable interest within the field of computer vision. Texture classification is a difficult task that assigns unlabeled images or textures to the correct labeled class. Some key factors such as scaling and viewpoint variations and illumination changes make this task challenging. In this paper, we present a new feature extraction technique for color texture classification and recognition. The presented approach aggregates the features extracted from local binary patterns (LBP) and convolution neural network (CNN) to provide discriminatory information, leading to better texture classification results. Almost all of the CNN model cases classify images based on global features that describe the image as a whole to generalize the entire object. LBP classifies images based on local features that describe the image’s key points (image patches). Our analysis shows that using LBP improves the classification task when compared to using CNN only. We test the proposed approach experimentally over three challenging color image datasets (ALOT, CBT, and Outex). The results demonstrated that our approach improved up to 25% in the classification accuracy over the traditional CNN models. We identify optimal combinations for each dataset and obtain high classification rates. The proposed approach is robust, stable, and discriminatory among the three datasets and has shown enhancement in classification and recognition compared to the state-of-the-art method.

The Beijing Winter Olympic Games is an extremely important event, and the supply of electricity is the basis for it. In order to prevent the sudden loss of power to the event, it is necessary to carry out power repair and restore normal power supply in the shortest possible time. Contemporary research is less focused on the emergency repair of power systems. This thesis studies the dispatching of power emergency materials in two stages and in the first stage, the minimum gap rate and the shortest time for material dispatching and transportation are mainly considered, and the required types of power emergency materials are dispatched from the storage near the Olympic venues to various power failure points. In the second stage, aiming at the shortage of power emergency materials at each fault point, the power emergency materials will be dispatched from the rear national power grid regional material reserve to the power emergency materials reserve near the Olympic venues and then dispatched to each power fault point through the power emergency materials reserve. Finally, this paper verifies the effectiveness of the combination of the primary and secondary dispatching models in an example, providing a reference for further improving the emergency response capability of the Olympic venues and improving the safety system of the power system.

The earthquake-induced permanent displacement is an important index of the potential damage to a slope during an earthquake. The Newmark method assumes that a slope is a rigid-plastic body, and the seismic responses of sliding masses or seismic forces along the slide plane are ignored. The decoupled method considers no relative displacement across the sliding plane, so it overpredicts the seismic response of the sliding mass. Both dynamic and sliding analyses are performed in the coupled method, but when Ts/Tm is large, the results are unconservative. In this paper, a method is proposed to predict the earthquake-triggered sliding displacement of slopes. The proposed method is based on the Newmark rigid method, coupled method, and decoupled method considering both the forces at the sliding interface and the system dynamics under critical conditions. For the flexible system, the displacements are calculated with different stiffness values, and the results show that as the stiffness increases and tends to infinity, the critical acceleration and displacements of the proposed method are close to those of the Newmark method. The proposed method is also compared with the Newmark method with the period ratio Ts/Tm. At small values of Ts/Tm, the flexible system analysis results of the displacement are more conservative than those of the rigid block model; at larger values of Ts/Tm, the rigid block model is more conservative than the flexible system.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been the most recent disease, with millions of deaths worldwide. Fortunately, vaccines have been developed to immunize the population. However, the distribution of the vaccine is also a significant challenge. Generally, each country defines its strategy to bring it closer to the target population, considering the adequate transport for their conservation, depending on the type of vaccines defined. In this work, a mathematical model is proposed for the distribution of different COVID-19 vaccines in Mexico. Our results suggest an efficient strategy to meet demand in a given period. As the essential content of intelligent animal husbandry, identifying each livestock is the only way to achieve modern and refined scientific husbandry. This paper proposes a sheep face recognition method based on European spatial metrics and realizes noncontact sheep identity recognition by training the network using sheep face image samples in the natural environment. The SheepBase data set was first proposed in this process, which contains 6559 images of Inner Mongolia fine-wool sheep and Sunite sheep. To enhance the diversity of the data, the sheep face images were data-enhanced. Secondly, to solve the problems of more redundant information in the sheep face image and the poor posture and angle of the sheep face, we propose the sheep face detection and correction (SheepFaceRepair) method. This method aims to detect the sheep face area in the image to be recognized and align the sheep face area. On this basis, we offer an open sheep facial recognition network (SheepFaceNet) based on the European spatial metric. This method incorporates the biological identity information features of the sheep face to achieve sheep identity. We also tested the effectiveness of this method in the SheepBase data set. The experimental results show that the method proposed in this paper is much higher than the other methods, and the precision of recognition reaches 89.12%. In addition, we found that integrating the biometrics of the sheep face can effectively improve the network’s recognition capacity.

Logistics distribution is the terminal link that connects the manufacturer and product user and determines the efficiency of the manufacturer’s service. Therefore, the disruption risk of the joint system is an essential factor affecting the product user experience. In this paper, while considering the product user’s supply disruption risk preference (PUSDRP), a biobjective integer nonlinear programming (INLP) model with subjective cost-utility is proposed to solve the manufacturer’s combined location routing inventory problem (CLRIP). According to the user’s time satisfaction requirement, a routing change selection framework (RCSF) is designed based on the bounded rational behavior of the user. Additionally, the Lagrange Relaxation and Modified Genetic Algorithm (LR-MGA) is proposed. The LR method relaxes the model, and the MGA finds a compromise solution. The experimental results show that the biobjective cost-utility model proposed in this paper is effective and efficient. The RCSF based on user behavior is superior to the traditional expected utility theory model. The compromise solution provides a better solution for the manufacturer order allocation delivery combinatorial optimization problem. The compromise solution not only reduces the manufacturer’s total operating cost but also improves the user's subjective utility. To improve the stability of cooperation between manufacturers and users, the behavior decision-making method urges manufacturers to consider product users’ supply disruption risk preferences (PUSDRPs) in attempting to optimize economic benefits for the long term. This paper uses behavior decision-making methods to expand the ideas of the CLRIP joint system.

Displacement monitoring data modeling is important for evaluating the performance and health conditions of concrete dams. Conventional displacement monitoring models of concrete dams decompose the total displacement into the water pressure component, temperature component, and time-dependent component. And the crack-induced displacement is generally incorporated into the time-dependent component, thus weakening the interpretability of the model. In the practical engineering modeling, some significant explaining variables are selected while the others are eliminated by applying commonly used regression methods which occasionally show instability. This paper proposes a crack-considered elastic net monitoring model of concrete dam displacement to improve the interpretability and stability. In this model, the mathematical expression of the crack-induced displacement component is derived through the analysis of large surface crack’s effect on the concrete dam displacement to improve the interpretability of the model. Moreover, the elastic net method with better stability is used to solve the crack-considered displacement monitoring model. Sequentially, the proposed model is applied to analyze the radial displacement of a gravity arch dam. The results demonstrate that the proposed model contributes to more reasonable explaining variables’ selection and better coefficients’ estimation and also indicate better interpretability and higher predictive precision.

Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) is a widely used technology. However, due to the influence of complex environmental factors, recognition accuracy and speed of license plate recognition have been challenged and expected. Aiming to construct a sufficiently robust license plate recognition model, this study adopted multitask learning in the license plate detection stage, used the convolutional neural networks of single-stage detection, RetinaFace, and MobileNet, as approaches to license plate location, and completed the license plate sampling through the calculation of license plate skew correction. In the license plate character recognition stage, the Convolutional Recurrent Neural Network (CRNN) integrated with the loss function of the CTC model was employed as a segmentation-free and highly robust method of license plate character recognition. In this study, after the license plate recognition model, DLPR, trained the PVLP dataset of vehicle images provided by company A in Taiwan’s data processing industry, it performed tests on the PVLP dataset, indicating that its precision was 98.60%, recognition accuracy was 97.56%, and recognition speed was FPS > 21. In addition, according to the tests on the public AOLP dataset of Taiwan’s vehicles, its recognition accuracy was 97.70% and recognition speed was FPS > 62. Therefore, not only can the DLPR model be applied to the license plate recognition of real-time image streams in the future, but also it can assist the data processing industry in enhancing the accuracy of license plate recognition in photos of traffic violations and the performance of traffic service operations.

Natural gas is one of the main energy resources for electricity generation. Reliable forecasting is vital to make sensible policies. A randomly optimized fractional grey system model is developed in this work to forecast the natural gas consumption in the power sector of the United States. The nonhomogeneous grey model with fractional-order accumulation is introduced along with discussions between other existing grey models. A random search optimization scheme is then introduced to optimize the nonlinear parameter of the grey model. And the complete forecasting scheme is built based on the rolling mechanism. The case study is executed based on the updated data set of natural gas consumption of the power sector in the United States. The comparison of results is analyzed from different step sizes, different grey system models, and benchmark models. They all show that the proposed method has significant advantages over the other existing methods, which indicates the proposed method has high potential in short-term forecasting for natural gas consumption of the power sector in United States.

In-depth mining and analysis of electricity data in low-voltage area are essential for the further intelligent development of power grids. However, in the actual data collection and measurement of low-voltage area, there will be missing data, and complete electricity data cannot be obtained. To obtain complete power data, this paper proposes a low-voltage station area missing data complement model based on joint matrix decomposition. First, we analyse the characteristics of the low-pressure station data. Then, a model that comprehensively considers the characteristics of the low-voltage station area data is proposed, which includes three parts: the construction of a low-voltage station area data tensor, the joint matrix decomposition, and the completion of the missing data, and it is named LPZ. After that, the CIM learning algorithm proposed in this paper is used to iteratively solve the model to obtain the completed data. Finally, the method proposed in this paper is used to complement the two situations of random loss and all-day loss of real current data in a low-voltage station area and compared with the traditional complement method. The experimental results show that this method is not only effective but also that the completion effect is better than that of other completion methods.

Nowadays, using Blockchain Technology (BCT) is growing faster in each country. It is essential to apply BCT in Supply Chain Network Design (SCND) and is considered by the designer and manager of SC. This research indicates Viable Supply Chain Network Design (VSCND) by applying BCT. A new form of two-stage robust optimization is suggested. Facility locations and activation BCT for VSCND is the first stage of decisions; finally, we determine flow transshipment between components in the next stage. The GAMS-CPLEX is used for solving the model. The results show that running BCT will decrease 0.99% in costs. There is an economic justification for using BCT when demand is high. A fix-and-optimize and Lagrange relaxation (LR) generate lower and upper bound to estimate large scale in minimum time. The gap between the main model and fix-and-optimize is better than the LR algorithm. Finally, this research suggests equipping VSCND by BCT that becomes more resilient against demand fluctuation, sustainable, and agile.

In this paper, we have taken review of certain topological topological characteristics of subdivision and the line graph of subdivision of Kragujevac tree. A Kragujevac tree is denoted by K , K ∈ Kg q = r 2 t + 1 + 1 , r , with order r 2 t + 1 + 1 and size r 2 t + 1 , respectively. We have computed the Zagreb polynomials, forgotten polynomial, and M-polynomial for Kragujevac tree. Moreover, we have computed topological indices like Zagreb-type indices, reduced reciprocal Randić indices, family of Gourava indices as well as forgotten index. Further, some topological indices that can be directly derived from M-polynomial, i.e., first and second Zagreb index, modified second Zagreb index, Randić and reciprocal Randić index, symmetric division and harmonic index, and inverse sum and augmented Zagreb index are also computed.

Object detection is a classical research problem in computer vision, and it is widely used in the automatic monitoring field of various production safety. However, current object detection techniques often suffer low detection accuracy when an image has a complex background. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a double U-shaped multireinforced unit structure network (DUMRN). The proposed network consists of a detection module (DM), a reinforced module (RM), and a salient loss function (SLF). Extensive experiments on five public datasets and a practical application dataset are conducted and compared against nine state-of-the-art methods. The experiment results show the superiority of our method over the state of the art.

This study was aimed at developing an automatic exam system as an intelligent and high-quality higher math examination solution for Department of Computer Engineering at Pai Chai University (PCU) based on S/W Engineering. As a research and development (R&D) project, the study used the rational unified process (RUP) method for software development. RUP describes how to effectively use commercial and reliable methods to develop and deploy software system. It is a heavyweight process; therefore, it is particularly suitable for large teams to develop large projects. This paper describes the RUP process of this R&D project what we named it as Automatic Higher Mathematically Exam System (AHMES). AHMES provides a new way to automatically generate exam questions. In the study, our team and the requesting department collected the requirements and selected methods and tools. Then, our team designed and implemented the framework of the system, completed the development of some main functions, tested and summarized the system, and planned the future work.

Risk analysis, as an important prerequisite of risk management, is critical to reducing occupational injuries and other related losses. However, suffering greatly from incomplete hazard identification and inaccurate probability analysis, risk analysis is considered the weakest link in risk management, which seriously affects risk evaluation and control in complex workplaces. To improve the performance of hazard identification and analysis, a data-driven risk analysis approach is established, which consists of an improved equivalent class transformation (Eclat) algorithm, a sliding window model, and a change pattern mining algorithm. Through this approach, a large number of historical hazard records are transformed into association rules composed of object keywords and deviation keywords, and information such as potential keyword combinations, conditional probabilities of potential deviations, and the change pattern of potential hazards can be extracted. The function of the approach is threefold. Firstly, the data-driven risk analysis process is designed to identify the association rules between different hazard keywords. Secondly, Eclat algorithm is optimized to calculate the frequency and probability of potential hazards, which is conducive to improving the accuracy of probability estimation. Thirdly, the change pattern is developed to analyse the hazard change trend to support the cause analysis. A practical application in a Chinese hazardous chemical manufacturer is presented. Case studies have shown that the efficiency of the improved algorithm is increased by 13.68%, and 59.66% of potential hazards can be identified in advance, and relevant information can be extracted to support risk analysis.

The domain of underwater wireless communication (UWC) link is gaining much attention due to an increase in various underwater activities such as offshore hydrocarbon exploration, underwater unmanned vehicles (UUV), and military practices. Increased bandwidth and a reliable data link are mainly required for such activities. Both requirements of the domain are heavily affected by the highly conductive property of the seawater. This paper demonstrates the performance evaluation of radiofrequency-UWC, focusing on surface wave analysis, to propose a reliable solution for offshore activities. A constructive interference scheme can be useful due to the sharp difference in the properties of the two mediums (air and seawater). To that end, an experimental setup is created, and a corresponding finite element method (FEM) based simulation of the radio-based wireless link is run. This is because it has higher bandwidth and speed than acoustic and optical approaches. A conduction current mechanism transmits and receives data in a synthetic water tank containing a prepared conductive media (saltwater). The study of changing depths of transmitter-receiver nodes in saltwater shows that surface waves cause significant noise reception in shallow water (less than dipole length, below water level). During a series of experiments in the tank, the lowest bit error rate (BER) is observed only when the node’s submerged height was greater than dipole length. As a result, it is meant to provide a genuine data channel model. The discovery and analysis will aid in the development of a dependable underwater data link, with applications including short-range diver-to-diver communication, and UUV capability.

Ecological deterioration, air pollution, and resource depletion have shrouded the vast regions of China, raising widespread concerns about the sustainable development of the domestic economy. Although financial agglomeration has become a pivotal approach for China to realize green transformation, there is a lack of evidence against the causal correlation between financial agglomeration and sustainable development of the regional economy. To fill this gap, using the data of 29 provincial capital cities in China spanning from 2009 to 2019 and adopting individual time bidirectional fixed effect model, IV-GMM approach, and alternative modeling techniques, this paper investigates the impact of financial agglomeration on sustainable development of the regional economy for the first time. The results indicate that there is a significant positive correlation between financial agglomeration and the sustainable development of the regional economy. Financial agglomeration facilitates the improvement of regional energy efficiency, and the latter further mediates the relationship between financial agglomeration and sustainable development of the regional economy. In addition, the empirical results also demonstrate that the higher the economic policy uncertainty, the weaker the positive relationship between financial agglomeration and energy efficiency. The present study is of great significance for China to implement energy-saving and emission-reduction tasks and achieve sustainable urban construction.

Iris recognition refers to identifying individuals based on iris patterns, which have been widely used in security systems, such as subway security and access control attendance, because everyone has a unique iris shape. In the study, we propose an OCaNet model for the iris recognition task. First, binarized threshold segmentation is used to locate the pupil and the pupil boundary is obtained; then, the Hough transform is applied to locate the outer edge of the iris; according to the located pupil and iris, the iris area image is obtained through image segmentation; finally, the iris image is normalized to adjust each original image to the same size and corresponding position, so as to eliminate the influence of translation, scaling, and rotation on iris recognition. Second, the normalized iris images are both input into the octave convolution module and attention module. The octave convolution module is used to extract the shape and contour features of the iris by decomposing the feature map into high and low frequencies. The attention module is applied to extract the color and texture characteristics of the iris. Finally, the two feature maps are concatenated and produce a distribution of output classes. Experimental results show that the proposed OCaNet model is significantly more accurate.

As a special type of enterprises with high risks, Chinese commercial banks’ risk management plays an important role in banks’ business process. Measuring and improving the risk management efficiency of the Chinese commercial banking system has recently attracted increasing interest. Previous studies analyze the business performance of commercial banks from the perspective of the overall management level of banks, and few articles focus on the risk management ability of banks. This paper evaluates the technical efficiencies of Chinese commercial banks’ risk management by the DEA-BCC model with window analysis to come up with some recommendations for policy makers. The technical efficiency is then decomposed into pure technology efficiency and scale efficiency. According to the banking risk supervision indicators released by the China Banking Regulatory Commission, we choose the indicators of 26 commercial banks’ risk management during the period of 2011 to 2019. Principal component analysis (PCA) is applied to delete redundant input indicators. The paper gives a dynamic evaluation of technology efficiency, pure technology efficiency, and scale efficiency. The main empirical results are as follows: (1) the technical efficiency of Chinese commercial banks’ risk management is low, and the differences among three different types of banks are large. (2) The pure technology inefficiency of Chinese commercial banks’ risk management has become a key factor restricting the improvement of the risk management of the Chinese banking industry. (3) The Chinese commercial banks’ risk management faces a serious problem which is economies of scale. (4) The technical efficiencies of Chinese commercial banks’ risk management fluctuate greatly, and management capabilities need to be enhanced urgently.

The q -rung orthopair fuzzy sets and their hybrid models are capable of dealing with uncertain situations very effectively than the theories of intuitionistic and Pythagorean fuzzy sets and thus have numerous decision-making applications in daily life, while the fuzzy parameterized soft set theory has its impact on different decision-making scenarios. Motivated by these facts, in this research article, these theories are combined to form a new structure named fuzzy parameterized q -rung orthopair fuzzy soft expert sets ( FP q ROFSESs) for dealing with more generalized information. The developed model is an efficient extension of fuzzy parameterized intuitionistic fuzzy soft expert sets. Some of its basic notions, including subset, complement, OR operation, AND operation, intersection, and union are studied and illustrated via examples. Moreover, to show the applicability and efficiency of the developed model, two real-life applications are solved under the FP q ROFSES approach, which is supported by an algorithm, the first application is about selecting an appropriate site for a cafe outlet, and the second application is about selecting the Best News Channel for an award. At last, a comparison of the initiated model with some existing approaches is presented to verify its advantages over them.

Recent works based on deep learning and facial priors have performed well in superresolving severely degraded facial images. However, due to the limitation of illumination, pixels of the monitoring probe itself, focusing area, and human motion, the face image is usually blurred or even deformed. To address this problem, we properly propose Face Restoration Generative Adversarial Networks to improve the resolution and restore the details of the blurred face. They include the Head Pose Estimation Network, Postural Transformer Network, and Face Generative Adversarial Networks. In this paper, we employ the following: (i) Swish-B activation function that is used in Face Generative Adversarial Networks to accelerate the convergence speed of the cross-entropy cost function, (ii) a special prejudgment monitor that is added to improve the accuracy of the discriminant, and (iii) the modified Postural Transformer Network that is used with 3D face reconstruction network to correct faces at different expression pose angles. Our method improves the resolution of face image and performs well in image restoration. We demonstrate how our method can produce high-quality faces, and it is superior to the most advanced methods on the reconstruction task of blind faces for in-the-wild images; especially, our 8 × SR SSIM and PSNR are, respectively, 0.078 and 1.16 higher than FSRNet in AFLW.

The containment of the COVID-19 pandemic was significantly affected by the unbalanced distribution of emergency supplies, low coordinated transport efficiency, high costs, and the inability of nonprofit organizations to handle the emergency supplies efficiently. Based on the COVID-19 experience, in this paper, we build a cloud platform for emergency supplies distribution to reduce the asymmetry of emergency logistics information, reduce the costs, and improve the efficiency of emergency supplies distribution. Our proposed method uses a genetic algorithm with the monarch scheme to optimize the urban emergency supplies distribution. The numerical results and sensitivity analysis for a sample network indicate that using the proposed platform the integrated cost in different cities are reduced by 29.01%, 28.67%, and 22.73%, the required time in different cities are reduced by 22.98%, 26.59%, and 36.65%. The results suggest that the proposed method reduces the integrated cost and transportation time and finds the optimal distribution path. The IoT sensor applications have grown in extreme numbers, generating a large amount of data, and it requires very effective data analysis procedures. However, the different IoT infrastructures and IoT sensor device layers possess protocol limitations in transmitting and receiving messages which generate obstacles in developing the smart IoT sensor applications. This difficulty prohibited existing IoT sensor implementations from adapting to other IoT sensor applications. In this article, we study and analyze how IoT sensor produces data for big data analytics, and it also highlights the existing challenges of intelligent solutions. IoT sensor applications required big data classification and analysis in a Fog computing (FC) environment using computation intelligence (CI). Our proposed Fog big data analysis model (FBDAM) and BPNN analysis model for IoT sensor application using fusion deep learning (FDL) pose new obstacles for potential machine-to-machine communication practices. We have applied our proposed FBDAM on the most significant Fog applications developed on smart city datasets (parking, transportation, security, and sensor IoT dataset) and got improving results. We compared different deep and machine learning algorithms (SVM, SVMG-RBF, BPNN, S3VM, and proposed FDL) on different smart city dataset IoT application environments.

This paper mainly studies the influence of dynamic cognitive diagnosis on personalized learning. Considering the influence of knowledge correlation factors and human brain memory factors on learning activities, a knowledge tracing model integrating learning factors is proposed. Firstly, based on the exercise-knowledge association information, the model maps learners and exercises to the knowledge space with clear meaning. Then, the evolution process of learners’ knowledge learning is quantitatively modeled in the knowledge space by integrating the classical learning curve and forgetting curve theory of pedagogy. On the other hand, considering the influence of topic semantics in the learning process, a knowledge tracing model integrating topic semantics is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the model designs a dynamic enhanced memory network to store the common information of knowledge and describes the learners’ dynamic mastery of knowledge. Secondly, the depth representation method of exercise resources is proposed to mine the text personality information and integrate it into the process of learners’ knowledge change modeling. Through a large number of experiments on exercise records, it is verified that the proposed model has accurate prediction performance and knowledge tracing interpretability.

With the rapid development of the mobile internet and intelligent technology of in-vehicle equipment, the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), centered on intelligent connected cars, has gradually entered people’s lives. However, these technologies also bring serious privacy risks and security issues in terms of data transmission and storage. In this article, we propose a blockchain-based authentication system to provide vehicle safety management. The privacy and security attributes of various vehicle authentication transactions are based on high-level cryptographic primitives, realizing temporary and formal authentication methods. At the same time, a fair blockchain consensus mechanism Auction of block generation Rights (AoR) is proposed. To demonstrate the feasibility and scalability of the proposed scheme, security and performance analyses are presented. The relevant experimental results show that the scheme can provide superior decentralized management for IoV.

In this paper, the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model based on the bat algorithm quantifies the qualitative evaluation effectively and provides a feasible and convenient English teaching quality evaluation system by combining quantitative evaluation with objective index data. Firstly, the English teaching quality evaluation model is constructed based on the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation analysis method and the weight values of each factor are calculated; secondly, the three types of data in the model are processed separately. This includes standardizing the data of objective indicators such as students’ course grades and weakening the influence of course difficulty on this indicator. The fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model based on the bat algorithm quantifies the qualitative evaluation to make the calculated comprehensive evaluation of English teaching quality more comprehensive and objective; then the comprehensive calculation of English teaching quality evaluation is completed, and the English teaching quality evaluation model is constructed by extracting keywords based on the qualitative evaluation; finally, a runnable English teaching quality evaluation system is designed and implemented. A fuzzy comprehensive evaluation algorithm based on improved bat algorithm optimization is proposed. The algorithm uses the improved fuzzy comprehensive evaluation algorithm to optimize the initial clustering centers and adopts a new objective function to guide the clustering process, thus improving the clustering quality of the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation algorithm. Comparative analysis through models shows that the improved algorithm improves the clustering accuracy to a certain extent when compared with the traditional fuzzy comprehensive evaluation clustering algorithm for analysis. The bat algorithm is one of the stochastic global optimization models. It can take advantage of the group, integrate global search and local search, and achieve rapid convergence. Therefore, it plays an important role in optimizing the evaluation of English teaching quality. This study enriches the theoretical study of English teaching quality evaluation to a certain extent and can play a role in strengthening and improving English teaching quality evaluation at the present stage.

In this paper, a modified equilibrium algorithm (MEA) is proposed for optimally determining the position and capacity of wind power plants added in a transmission power network with 30 nodes and effectively selecting operation parameters for other electric components of the network. Two single objectives are separately optimized, including generation cost and active power loss for the case of placing one wind power plant (WPP) and two wind power plants (WPPs) at predetermined nodes and unknown nodes. In addition to the proposed MEA, the conventional equilibrium algorithm (CEA), heap-based optimizer (HBO), forensic-based investigation (FBI), and modified social group optimization (MSGO) are also implemented for the cases. Result comparisons indicate that the generation cost and power loss can be reduced effectively, thanks to the suitable location selection and appropriate power determination for WPPs. In addition, the generation cost and loss of the proposed MEA are also less than those from other compared methods. Thus, it is recommended that WPPs should be placed in power systems to reduce cost and loss, and MEA is a powerful method for the placement of wind power plants in power systems.

Aiming at overcoming the defects such as slow searching speed and easily trapping into local extremum at anaphase of the shuffled frog leaping algorithm (SFLA), based on the Evolutionary Exploration strategy, a more effective shuffled frog leaping algorithm, Improved Shuffled Frog Leaping Algorithm (ISFLA), which can be applied to the inverse analysis of seepage parameters to dams, is proposed. With the introduction of the threshold value selection in the local search of the original initial population to improve the best frogs in memeplex, the improved algorithm overcomes the shortcomings of traditional SFLA which can easily fall into a local optimum. By comparative analysis between the laboratory test and numerical simulation, the effectiveness and accuracy of ISFLA are demonstrated by the application to the inversion analysis of seepage parameters of earth dams. Furthermore, the inversion analysis of seepage parameters to the earth dam in Lianyungang China is studied by the ISFLA. Moreover, the seepage characteristics of the dam are evaluated; thus, the suggestion that the dam should be reinforced is put forward. All the results show that ISFLA in an inverse analysis of seepage parameters of dams has excellent value to hydropower engineering.

The key nodes play important roles in the processes of information propagation and opinion evolution in social networks. Previous work rarely considered multiple relationships and features into key node discovery algorithms at the same time. Based on the relational networks including the forwarding network, replying network, and mentioning network in a social network, this paper first proposes an algorithm of the overlapping user relational network to extract different relational networks with same nodes. Integrated with these relational networks, a multirelationship network is established. Subsequently, a key node discovery (KND) algorithm is presented on the basis of the shortest path, degree centrality, and random walk features in the multirelationship network. The advantages of the proposed KND algorithm are proved by the SIR propagation model and the normalized discounted cumulative gain on the multirelationship networks and single-relation networks. The experiment’s results show that the proposed KND method for finding the key nodes is superior to other baseline methods on different networks.

Long-term monitoring of resting tremor is key to assess the status of patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease (PD), which is of vital importance for reasonable medication. The detection and quantification of resting tremor in reported works rely heavily on specified movements and are not appropriate for long-term monitoring in real-life condition. The purpose of this study is to develop a detection model for long-term monitoring of resting tremor and explore an effective indicator for tremor quantification. This study included long-term acceleration data from PD patients and proposed a resting tremor detection model based on machine learning classifiers and Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE). Four machine learning classifiers, K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Random Forest (RF), Adaptive Boosting (AdaBoost), and Support Vector Machine (SVM), were compared. Furthermore, an indicator called tremor timing ratio (TTR) was defined and calculated for tremor quantification. The detection model with RF classifier achieved the highest overall accuracy of 94.81%. The sample entropy of the acceleration signal was proved most influential in the classification by exploring the feature importance. Through the Kruskal-Wallis test and the Mann-Whitney U test, the TTR had a strong correlation with the subscore of resting tremor in Unified Parkinson Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS). Such two-step evaluation process for resting tremor can detect the tremor effectively and is expected to be applied in long-term monitoring of PD patients in daily life to realize a more comprehensive assessment of PD.

Dempster–Shafer (D-S) evidence theory plays an important role in multisource data fusion. Due to the nature of the Dempster combination rule, there can be counterintuitive results when fusing highly conflicting evidence data. To date, conflict management in D-S evidence theory is still an open issue. Inspired by evidence modification considering internal indeterminacy and external support, a novel method for conflict data fusion is proposed based on an improved belief divergence, evidence distance, and belief entropy. First, an improved belief divergence measure is defined to characterize the discrepancy and conflict between bodies of evidence (BOEs). Second, evidence credibility is generated to describe the external support based on the complementary advantages of the improved belief divergence and evidence distance. Third, belief entropy is utilized to quantify the internal indeterminacy and further determine evidence weight. Lastly, the classical Dempster combination rule is applied to fuse the BOEs modified by their credibility degrees and weights. As the results of numerical examples and an application show, the proposed divergence measure can overcome the invalidity of the existing measures in some special cases. Additionally, the proposed fusion method recognizes the correct target with the highest belief value of 98.96%, which outperforms other related methods in conflict management. The proposed fusion method also displays better convergence, validity, and robustness.

The oxygen lance is a piece of special equipment in the converter steelmaking process for blowing oxygen into the molten steel. After more than 80 years of development, the structure and function of the oxygen lance have undergone many changes. In this paper, based on the theory of hydrodynamics, the jet behavior characteristics of a dual-structure oxygen lance for the converter are determined and optimized by CFD simulations and compared with those of the traditional-structure oxygen lance. The research results show that multiple jets deflect to the central axis of the oxygen lance during movement and the inclination angle of the nozzle holes influences the jet deflection. A decrease in the nozzle hole angle results in an increase in the mutual suction between the streams. With the increasing flow rate through the large holes in the new dual-structure oxygen lance, the dynamic radial pressure increases at the middle of the jet. The jet flow characteristics of the new dual-structure oxygen lance are better than those of the traditional oxygen lance. Its impact on the molten pool includes greater momentum, a larger impact area, and a more uniform and powerful stirring of the molten pool. A nozzle angle of 14° combined with a flow rate ratio of 65% and a nozzle angle of 17° combined with a flow rate ratio of 35% are the optimal parameters for the new dual-structure oxygen lance.

The electroencephalogram (EEG) signals are a big data which are frequently corrupted by motion artifacts. As human neural diseases, diagnosis and analysis need a robust neurological signal. Consequently, the EEG artifacts’ eradication is a vital step. In this research paper, the primary motion artifact is detected from a single-channel EEG signal using support vector machine (SVM) and preceded with further artifacts’ suppression. The signal features’ abstraction and further detection are done through ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) algorithm. Moreover, canonical correlation analysis (CCA) filtering approach is applied for motion artifact removal. Finally, leftover motion artifacts’ unpredictability is removed by applying wavelet transform (WT) algorithm. Finally, results are optimized by using Harris hawks optimization (HHO) algorithm. The results of the assessment confirm that the algorithm recommended is superior to the algorithms currently in use.

Outlier detection is a challenging task especially when outliers are defined by rare combinations of multiple variables. In this paper, we develop and evaluate a new method for the detection of outliers in multivariate data that relies on Principal Components Analysis (PCA) and three-sigma limits. The proposed approach employs PCA to effectively perform dimension reduction by regenerating variables, i.e., fitted points from the original observations. The observations lying outside the three-sigma limits are identified as the outliers. This proposed method has been successfully employed to two real life and several artificially generated datasets. The performance of the proposed method is compared with some of the existing methods using different performance evaluation criteria including the percentage of correct classification, precision, recall, and F-measure. The supremacy of the proposed method is confirmed by abovementioned criteria and datasets. The F-measure for the first real life dataset is the highest, i.e., 0.6667 for the proposed method and 0.3333 and 0.4000 for the two existing approaches. Similarly, for the second real dataset, this measure is 0.8000 for the proposed approach and 0.5263 and 0.6315 for the two existing approaches. It is also observed by the simulation experiments that the performance of the proposed approach got better with increasing sample size.

In order to solve the problems such as big errors, lack of universality, and too much time consuming occurred in the recognition of overlapped fruits, an improved fuzzy least square support vector machine (FLS-SVM) is established based on the fruit ROI-HOG feature. First, the RGB image is transformed into saturation and value (HSV) image, and then the regions of interest (ROI) are detected from HSV color information. Finally, the histogram of oriented gradients (HOG) feature of ROI will be used as the input of FLS-SVM pattern recognizer to realize the recognition of picking fruit. In addition, the verified FLS-SVM is used to investigate the recognition performance of harvesting robot using regions of interest histogram of oriented gradients feature. The results reveal that the vector sizes are effectively reduced and a higher detection speed is achieved without compromising accuracy relative to conventional approaches. Similarly, the detection accuracy for the learning samples, the isolated fruit, the overlapped fruit, and the background can achieve 99.50%, 96.0%, 89.9%, and 97.0%, respectively, which shows the good performance of the proposed improved ROI-HOG feature recognition method.

Scarce financial supply and low education level are important factors that inhibit the entrepreneurial behavior of rural residents in China. Based on the Static Career Choice Model, this paper matches the 2016 China Household Finance Survey (CHFS) micro-data with the Peking University Digital Financial Inclusive Index of the previous years to empirically test the impact of digital financial inclusion and academic education, tacit knowledge, and Internet learning on farmers. The direct influence and linkage effect of entrepreneurial behaviors revealed that digital financial inclusion and multidimensional education could significantly promote farmers’ entrepreneurial choices. Digital financial inclusion can relieve the constraints of insufficient academic education on farmers’ entrepreneurial choices, partially replace the tacit knowledge for rural residents, and improve the efficiency of Internet learning, which ultimately enhances the entrepreneurial behavior choices of the farmers. Our results are still significant and robust with respect to the sample data, explained variables, and estimation methods. We also consider the use of instrumental variables to overcome the potential endogeneity issues. Through comparative analysis of different regions, it is found that the performance is particularly obvious in the eastern region.

This study determines the voltage across insulators after a direct lightning strike to an overhead ground wire on a 24 kV pole structure for different grounding distances of overhead ground wire, to calculate the maximum ground resistance required to avoid disruption of the distribution line system using ATP-EMTP software. The results show that when a 40 kA lightning current, the average lightning current in Thailand, strikes a 24 kV pole structure, the maximum ground resistance should not exceed 4 Ω for a 40 m grounding distance of overhead ground wire, based on an existing critical insulator flashover of 205 kV. However, because the average ground resistance in Thailand is approximately 10 Ω, this study proposes increasing the insulation level from 205 kV to 300 kV to reduce the likelihood of power outage. The cost-effectiveness of such an investment is assessed in terms of net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), profitability index (PI), and discounted payback period (DPP) using existing economic tools. Results show that when the critical insulator flashover is increased from 205 kV to 300 kV for a 40 m grounding distance of overhead ground wire, the project is likely to have a DPP of 15.12 years, NPV of 143,321.87 USD, IRR of 12%, and PI of 1.15. On the other hand, grounding distances greater than 40 m for overhead ground wire result in negative NPV, although the back flashover rate can be reduced by 1.51–5.71% with grounding distances of 80–200 m compared to the situation in the absence of grounding.

Thin-walled stiffened panels are fundamental structural components that form the primary structure of the ship hull. The effectiveness of the stiffener configuration design needs to be assessed because members are unavoidably subjected to various load types during operations. In this situation, assessment is required to quantify the responses and determine the relationship between the structural resistance and input parameters. The aim of this work was to obtain structural resistance data on the stiffened side hull of a medium-sized tanker with various model configurations by using finite element analysis with different loading parameters, i.e., load type and angle, as the main inputs. The results indicate that stiffener configurations subjected to loads at the center and random positions influence the effectiveness in reducing the deformation. The results show that the stiffener is more effective when the location of the force is very close to the stiffener. Therefore, higher strength can be obtained with a design in which the area that is not supported by the stiffener is minimized.

Fabric defect detection is particularly remarkable because of the large textile production demand in China. Traditional manual detection method is inefficient, time-consuming, laborious, and costly. A deep learning technique is proposed in this work to perform automatic fabric defect detection by improving a YOLOv5 object detection algorithm. A teacher-student architecture is used to handle the shortage of fabric defect images. Specifically, a deep teacher network could precisely recognize fabric defects. After information distillation, a shallow student network could do the same thing in real-time with minimal performance degeneration. Moreover, multitask learning is introduced by simultaneously detecting ubiquitous and specific defects. Focal loss function and central constraints are introduced to improve the recognition performance. Evaluations are performed on the publicly available Tianchi AI and TILDA databases. Results indicate that the proposed method performs well compared with other methods and has excellent defect detection ability in the collected textile images.

To reduce gas disasters in low permeability and high-gas coal seams and improve gas predrainage efficiency, conventional deep-hole presplitting blasting permeability increasing technology was refined and perfected. The numerical calculation model of presplitting blasting was established by using ANSYS/LS-DYNA numerical simulation software. The damage degree of coal and rock blasting was quantitatively evaluated by using the value range of the damage variable D. According to the actual field test parameters of coal seam #3 in the Sanyuan coal mine, Dlim = 0.81–1.0 was the coal rock crushing area, Dlim = 0.19–0.81 was the coal rock crack area, and Dlim = 0–0.19 was the coal rock disturbance area. By comparing and analysing the damage distribution nephogram of coal and rock mass under the influence of different millisecond blasting time interval and the blasting effect of simulation model, the optimal layout parameters of multilayer through cracks were obtained theoretically. And, the determined parameters were tested on the working face of the 1312 transportation roadway in coal seam #3 of the Sanyuan coal mine. The permeability effect was compared and analysed through the analysis of the gas concentration, gas purity, and mixing volume before and after the implementation of deep-hole presplitting blasting antireflection technology, as well as the change of gas pressure, attenuation coefficient, permeability coefficient, and other parameters between blasting coal seams. The positive role of millisecond blasting in reducing pressure and increasing permeability in low permeability and high-gas coal seam were determined.
