Amidst the rapid advancements in the fields of photovoltaics and optoelectronic devices, CsPbBr3 nanosheets (NSs) have emerged as a focal point of research due to their exceptional optical and electronic properties. This work explores the application potential of CsPbBr3 NSs in photonic and catalytic domains. Utilizing an optimized hot-injection method and a ZnBr2-assisted in situ passivation strategy, we successfully synthesized CsPbBr3 NSs with controlled dimensions and optical characteristics. Comprehensive characterization revealed that the nucleation environment and thickness significantly influenced the structure and optical performance of the materials. The results indicate that the optimized synthesis method enables control over the lateral dimensions of the nanoparticles, ranging from 9.1 ± 0.06 nm to 334.5 ± 4.40 nm, facilitating the tuning of the excitation wavelength from 460 nm (blue) to 510 nm (green). Further analyses involving photoresponse and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy demonstrated the substantial potential of these NSs in applications such as photocatalysis and energy conversion. Metal halide perovskite semiconductors have emerged as promising materials for various optoelectronic applications due to their unique crystal structure and outstanding properties. Among different forms, perovskite nanowires (NWs) offer distinct advantages, including a high aspect ratio, superior crystallinity, excellent light absorption, and carrier transport properties, as well as unique anisotropic luminescence properties. Understanding the formation mechanism and structure–property relationship of perovskite NWs is crucial for exploring their potential in optoelectronic devices. In this study, we successfully synthesized all-inorganic halide perovskite NWs with high aspect ratios and an orthorhombic crystal phase using the hot-injection method with controlled reaction conditions and surface ligands. These NWs exhibit excellent optical and electrical properties. Moreover, precise control over the halogen composition through a simple anion exchange process enables the tuning of the bandgap, leading to fluorescence emission, covering a wide range of colors across the visible spectrum. Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), particularly monolayer TMDs with direct bandgap properties, are key to advancing optoelectronic device technology. WSe2 stands out due to its adjustable carrier transport, making it a prime candidate for optoelectronic applications. This study explores monolayer WSe2 synthesis via H2-assisted CVD, focusing on how carrier gas flow rate affects WSe2 quality. A comprehensive characterization of monolayer WSe2 was conducted using OM (optical microscope), Raman spectroscopy, PL spectroscopy, AFM, SEM, XPS, HRTEM, and XRD. It was found that H2 incorporation and flow rate critically influence WSe2's growth and structural integrity, with low flow rates favoring precursor concentration for product formation and high rates causing disintegration of existing structures. This research accentuates the significance of fine-tuning the carrier gas flow rate for optimizing monolayer WSe2 synthesis, offering insights for fabricating monolayer TMDs like WS2, MoSe2, and MoS2, and facilitating their broader integration into optoelectronic devices. As a direct band gap semiconductor, perovskite has the advantages of high carrier mobility, long charge diffusion distance, high defect tolerance and low-cost solution preparation technology. Compared with traditional metal halide perovskites, which regulate energy band and luminescence by changing halogen, perovskite quantum dots (QDs) have a surface effect and quantum confinement effect. Based on the LaMer nucleation growth theory, we have synthesized CsPbBr3 QDs with high dimensional homogeneity by creating an environment rich in Br− ions based on the general thermal injection method. Moreover, the size of the quantum dots can be adjusted by simply changing the reaction temperature and the concentration of Br− ions in the system, and the blue emission of strongly confined pure CsPbBr3 perovskite is realized. The annealing effects on Pb0.97La0.03Sc0.45Ta0.45Ti0.1O3 (PLSTT) ceramics prepared by the solid-state reaction method are systemically investigated using experimental and theoretical techniques. Comprehensive studies are performed on the PLSTT samples by varying annealing time (AT) from t (=0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60) h. The properties involving ferroelectric polarization (FP), electrocaloric (EC) effect, energy harvesting performance (EHP) and energy storage performance (ESP) are reported, compared and contrasted. All these features are seen to gradually improve with the increase in AT, and they all reach the climaxed-shaped values and then decrease by further increasing the AT. For t = 40 h, the maximum FP (23.2 µC/cm2) is attained at an electric field of 50 kV/cm, while the high EHP effects (0.297 J/cm3) and positive EC are achieved (for ΔT~0.92 K and ΔS~0.92 J/(K·kg)) at 45 kV/cm. The EHP value of the PLSTT ceramics increased by 21.7% while the polarization value was enhanced by 33.3%. At t = 30 h, the ceramics have attained the best ESP value of 0.468 J/cm3 with an energy loss of 0.05 J/cm3. This study presents a simple and innovative approach for producing one-dimensional Mn5Si3 nanorods through a casting-extraction process. In this technique, the Mn5Si3 nanorods were synthesized by reacting Mn and Si during brass solidification and extracted by electrochemical etching of the brass matrix. The effect of the cooling rate during casting on the nanorods' dimension, morphology, and magnetic properties was investigated. The results demonstrate that the prepared high-purity Mn5Si3 nanorods had a single-crystal D88 structure and exhibited ferromagnetism at room temperature. The morphology of the nanorods was an elongated hexagonal prism, and their preferred growth was along the [0001] crystal direction. Increasing the cooling rate from 5 K/s to 50 K/s lead to a decrease in the dimension of the nanorods but an increase in their ferromagnetism. At the optimal cooling rate of 50 K/s, the nanorods had a diameter and length range of approximately 560 nm and 2~11 μm, respectively, with a highest saturation magnetization of 7.5 emu/g, and a maximum coercivity of 120 Oe. These properties make the fabricated Mn5Si3 nanorods potentially useful for magnetic storage applications, and this study also provides a new perspective on the preparation of one-dimensional nanomaterials. A high sintering temperature is required to acquire excellent performance in the production of porcelain but results in high fuel consumption. To prepare the porcelain with outstanding performance at a lower temperature, a self-produced additive containing calcium (CaK) was added into a three-component system of kaolinite–feldspar–quartz. XRD and SEM were used to characterize the samples. The toughening mechanism and Gibbs free energy were investigated. After introducing the CaK, the bending strength of the porcelain fired at 1513 K increased from 56.32 ± 0.65 MPa to 95.31 ± 0.63 MPa, which was 21.83% higher than that of the porcelain without CaK at an optimal firing temperature of 1603 K. The main crystal phase of the sample comprised mullite and quartz in the raw materials at 1453~1603 K. The anorthite was observed at 1453 K and interlocked with needle-shaped mullite at 1513 K in the porcelain after adding CaK, which resulted in the higher bending strength. Quantitative analysis indicated that the amount of anorthite decreased at 1513 K and disappeared at 1543 K; the amount of mullite increased with temperature. The Gibbs free energy of the reaction (CaO•Al2O3•2SiO2 + 2(Al2O3•2SiO2) → 3Al2O3•2SiO2 + CaO + 4SiO2) at high temperature was negative, which suggested that the formation of mullite (3Al2O3•2SiO2) from anorthite (CaO•Al2O3•2SiO2) was possible. These findings implied that the addition of CaK contributed to the appropriate phase composition and microstructure, and the excellent performance of the porcelain at a lower temperature. In addition, the transformation between anorthite and mullite was possible in the special raw material system. This study investigates the effect of deposition pressure on the microstructure and tribological properties of CrAgCeN coatings synthesized via unbalanced magnetron sputtering. The CrAgCeN coatings presented a face-centered cubic structure. As the deposition pressure increased, the surface grain topography of the CrAgCeN coatings transformed from a looser pyramidal structure to a denser structure, while their hardness H and elastic modulus E first increased and then decreased. The strengthening effect was mainly attributable to Ag and Ce elements. Conversely, the coefficient of friction (COF) and wear rates of the coatings reduced and then increased. Under 0.6-Pa deposition pressure, the COF and wear rate of the CrAgCeN coating were minimized (0.391 and 3.2 × 10−7 mm3/(N·m), respectively) while the H and E were maximized (14.2 and 206.2 GPa, respectively). The values of hardness, wear resistance, resistance of elastic strain to failure (H/E) and resistance to plastic deformation (H3/E2) were improved for the coatings by Ce. The wear mechanisms were adhesion and delamination. The wear mechanisms were adhesion and delamination. Selecting the appropriate deposition pressure can improve the tribological properties of the CrAgCeN coatings. The received results of research in this study allow us to establish a rational coating composition for deposition on tools providing an increase in machining efficiency of the materials used in engineering. Owing to their high design freedom and excellent performance, lattice structures have shown outstanding capabilities and great potential in aeronautics and astronautics fields. In this paper, we propose a method to construct lattice structures by parameterizing biological features. An ant-leg configuration is used as the bionic object to generate a bionic lightweight design with a gradient lattice structure. To achieve the above goal, an innovative optimization method combining topology optimization, size optimization, and a bionic lattice structure is proposed in this paper. Taking the support structure of the Fengyun-3 satellite payload as the research object, this optimization method is applied to optimize the design. Further, the reconstructed optimization model and the original model are simulated to evaluate and compare the structural performance. The simulation results show that when combined with bionic lattice structure and structural optimization, the method can achieve the lightweight design goal while ensuring the stiffness and strength of the structure. Ta2O5 was deposited on quartz glass and Si substrates as a protective coating. The inherent RF magnetron sputtering power of 140 W was maintained during the deposition process. During the deposition process, amounts of 5%, 10%, and 15% of N2 were injected, and the total sputtering gas (N2+Ar) flow was kept at 40 sccm. The microstructure and surface morphology of the coatings were characterized, and the friction and wear experiments of the coatings were carried out. The results show that the coatings' surface is smooth and the main chemical compositions are Ta, O, and N. The maximum average roughness of the coatings was prepared by pure argon sputtering. It is proved that the introduction of N2 reduces the surface roughness of the coatings and increases the surface hardness and elastic modulus of the coatings. The involvement of magnesium matrix composite enhanced by metal particles, the development of low lattice mismatch interface, and the refining of particle size are all of great significance in improving strengthening efficiency. In this work, nano-crystalline Ti/Mg-9Al-Zn-0.3Mn composites were prepared by mechanical milling. The microstructure was characterized and the mechanical property was measured. After mechanical milling, the grain of the Mg matrix was refined to ~72 nm. Ti particles were smashed to submicron scale, and dispersed in the Mg matrix. In total, 68% of Ti particles were nano-scale and the average particle size was 133 nm. A nano-scale Mg17Al12 precipitate was found and the average particle size was approximately 44 nm. Meanwhile, coherent interfaces of Ti/Mg and Mg17Al12/Mg were observed, and it was found that the (101)Mg plane and (100)Ti plane inclined 12° and [04 4 ]Mg17Al12 was parallel to [010]Mg. The hardness of the milled Ti/Mg-9Al-Zn-0.3Mn composite was 1.98 GPa, 247% higher than the initial alloy. Milled Mg-9Al-Zn-0.3Mn alloy under the same preparation processing was used as a comparison, and the value of hardness was 1.53 GPa. Tiny Ti particles displayed excellent strengthening efficiency. Strengthening mechanisms of the milled Ti/Mg-9Al-Zn-0.3Mn composite were analyzed and the main strengthening mechanisms included the strengthening of grain boundary strengthening, Orowan strengthening, dislocation strengthening, solid solution strengthening and load-bearing strengthening, which accounted for 56.3%, 18.2%, 17.4%, 4.7% and 3.5%, respectively. Considering the random orientation and distribution of steel fibers in concrete, the synergistic reinforcement of steel fibers on concrete is much complex than the bond of single fiber. It is meaningful to study the bond behavior of steel fiber during many actions. With the inclination angle of steel fiber to pullout direction and the fiber spacing as main factors, this paper carried out fifteen groups of pullout tests for hook-end steel fiber embedded in manufactured sand mortar. The inclination angle ranged from 0 to 60°, and the fiber spacing ranged from 3.5 mm to 21.2 mm. The characteristic pullout load-slip (PL-S) curve of steel fibers are given out after treating the original complete curves of each group test. The values of key points featured the debonding, peak and residual pullout loads and slips are determined from the characteristic PL-S curves. Based on a multi-index synthetical evaluation method, the nominal debonding strength, bond strength, residual bond strength and the debonding work, slipping work, and pullout work, as well as the debonding energy ratio, slipping energy ratio, and pullout energy ratio are analyzed. Results indicate that the bond performance represented by above indexes changes with the inclination angle and spacing of steel fibers. Except for the bond mechanism performing the same as aligned steel fibers by pullout test, the bond is dominated by the resistance of mortar to peeling off near pullout surface and scraping along pullout direction. When the inclination angle is over 15° or 30°, the bond performance is generally decreased, due to the peeling off of mortar on surface of transversal section with a certain depth. When the fiber spacing is over than 5 mm, the bond performance becomes worst due to the scraping out of mortar along with the slip of steel fibers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper reviews the manufacturing process of ultra-thin heat pipes and the latest process technologies in detail, focusing on the progress of the shape, structure, and heat transfer mechanism of the wick. The effects of the filling rate and tilt angle on the heat transfer performance of the ultra-thin heat pipe, as well as the material selection of ultra-thin heat pipes, is sorted out, and the surface modification technology is analyzed. Besides, the optimal design based on heat pipes is discussed. Spiral woven mesh wick and multi-size composite wick have significant advantages in the field of ultra-thin heat pipe heat transfer, and comprehensive surface modification technology has huge potential. A novel non-destructive testing scanning system based on a large-size line array fast neutron detector and compact D-T neutron source has been constructed. The scanning range is up to 1000 mm, and the resolution is better than 1 mm. The fast neutron detection subsystem consists of a polypropylene zinc sulfide scintillator embedded with wavelength-shifting fibers, coupled with a light lens and a scientific CCD camera. With a new rotating tritium target, the lifetime of the compact D-T neutron source could achieve ten hours. The experimental results indicate that the scanning method based on line array fast neutron detector and D-T neutron source is feasible and enables the detection of slits on the order of 0.5 mm in width.
