Excessive copper (Cu2+) causes adverse effects on human health and the ecological environment. Traditional methods for detecting Cu2+ have drawbacks such as high detection costs, complex operating conditions, and being time consuming. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop simple detection methods to better meet specific health and environment quality needs. In this work, a paper-based fluorescence sensor was prepared (herein referred to as the as-prepared method) by immersing filter paper in aqueous polyethyleneimine (PEI) solution, and its potential use in Cu2+ detection was investigated. The results showed that the as-prepared paper samples, with fluorescence properties obtained by aggregation-induced luminescence of PEI, have selective recognition of Cu2+ based on the internal filtration effect, and the lowest detection limit is 0.03 μM. In addition, the relative error of this method is in the range of 1.80~2.23%, which is relatively comparable to the national standard method (0.63~630 μM), demonstrating high accuracy. Flexible paper-based materials play a crucial role in the field of flexible electromagnetic shielding due to their thinness and controllable shape. In this study, we employed the wet paper forming technique to prepare carbon fiber paper with a thickness gradient. The electromagnetic shielding performance of the carbon fiber paper varies with the ladder-like thickness distribution. Specifically, an increase in thickness gradient leads to higher reflectance of the carbon fiber paper. Within the X-band frequency range (8.2–12.4 GHz), reflectivity decreases as electromagnetic wave frequency increases, indicating enhanced penetration of electromagnetic waves into the interior of the carbon fiber paper. This enhancement is attributed to an increased fiber content per unit area resulting from a greater thickness gradient, which further enhances reflection loss and promotes internal multiple reflections and scattering effects, leading to increased absorption loss. Notably, at a 5 mm thickness, our carbon fiber paper exhibits an impressive average overall shielding performance, reaching 63.46 dB. As air pollution escalates, the need for air filters increases. It is better that the filters used be based on natural fibers, such as non-wood fibers, which cause low damage to the environment. However, the short fiber lengths, low apparent densities, and high volumes of non-wood materials can make it challenging to prepare filter paper with the required mechanical and physical properties. In that context, this study focused on utilizing bamboo fibers to fabricate filter paper by employing the anthraquinone soda pulping method. The pulp underwent bleaching and oxidation processes, with the incorporation of cationic starch (CS) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) to enhance resistance properties, resulting in the creation of handmade filter papers. The findings revealed that the tear, burst, and tensile strength of filter paper increased with the oxidation and addition of CS and PVA. Air permeability increased with addition of PVA and combination of CS and PVA. FTIR demonstrated the conversion of hydroxyl groups in cellulose chains to carboxyl groups due to oxidation. SEM images illustrated alterations in the fiber structure post-oxidation treatment, with CS reducing pores while PVA and the CS-PVA combination enlarged pore size and enhanced porosity. The BET surface area surface area expanded with oxidation and the addition of the CS-PVA blend, indicating heightened filter paper porosity. A thermoelectric generator (TEG) is one of the important energy harvesting sources for wearable electronic devices, which converts waste heat into electrical energy without any external stimuli, such as light or mechanical motion. However, the poor flexibility of traditional TEGs (e.g., Si-based TE devices) causes the limitations in practical applications. Flexible paper substrates are becoming increasingly attractive in wearable electronic technology owing to their usability, environmental friendliness (disposable, biodegradable, and renewable materials), and foldability. The high water-absorbing quality of paper restricts its scope of application due to water failure. Therefore, we propose a high-performance flexible waterproof paper-based thermoelectric generator (WPTEG). A modification method that infiltrates TE materials into cellulose paper through vacuum filtration is used to prepare the TE modules. By connecting the TE-modified paper with Al tape, as well as a superhydrophobic layer encapsulation, the WPTEG is fabricated. The WPTEG with three P–N modules can generate an output voltage of up to 235 mV at a temperature difference of 50 K, which can provide power to portable electronic devices such as diodes, clocks, and calculators in hot water. This paper discusses the results of the micro-Raman analysis performed on paper-like graphene oxide (GO) samples consisting of many functionalised graphene layers and annealed at moderate temperatures (≤500 °C) under vacuum conditions (p ≃ 10−4 mbar). The analysis of the standalone samples revealed that the obtained material is characterised by a noticeable disorder level but still stays below the commonly accepted threshold of high or total disorder. GO formed in a simple way showed two spectral bands above 1650 cm−1 recorded very rarely or not at all and their origin has been discussed in detail. The results also confirmed the metastable character of multilayer GO after the annealing process at moderate temperatures as the C/O ratio was kept between 2 and 3 and the spectral features were stable within the annealing temperature range. As one of the raw materials of basic magnesium sulfate cement (BMSC), the activity of light-burned magnesium oxide (MgO) has an important effect on the hydration rate, hydration products, and mechanical properties of BMSC. To reveal the influence of packaging method, storage environment, and storage time on the activity of MgO and the mechanical properties of BMSC, an experiment was conducted by using ordinary woven bags, peritoneal woven bags, and plastic and paper compound bags to store the finished BMSC and the raw materials (light-burned MgO, MgSO4·7H2O, fly ash, and a chemical additive) under the conditions of natural environment, sealed environment, and wet environment, respectively. Comparative analysis of the effects of packaging method, storage conditions, and storage time on the activity of MgO and the mechanical properties of BMSC was performed through the mechanical strength test of mortar specimens. The results showed that in a sealed environment, the loss of a-MgO content in light-burned MgO was minimized, which was more conducive to keeping the mechanical properties of BMSC stable. In the wet environment, the mechanical strength of BMSC was significantly reduced in the early stage (1 day) due to the significant reduction in the activity of MgO, and the mechanical strength of the finished BMSC and prepared BMSC after 120 days of storage was still lost, regardless of the packaging method. However, the storage environment and packaging method had relatively little effect on the late mechanical strength (28 days) of BMSC. It is advisable to use ordinary woven bags for packaging in natural and sealed environments as this is more economical for engineering applications. The dynamic mechanical behavior and cushioning performance of honeycomb sandwich panels, which are extensively employed in product cushioning packaging due to their exceptional energy absorption capabilities, were examined using a combination of experimental and numerical methods. Several factors, such as maximum acceleration–static stress, cushioning coefficient–static stress, and other curves, were analyzed under various impact conditions. The simulated stress–strain, deformation modes, cushioning coefficients, and other parameters demonstrate consistency with the experimental results. The acceleration, maximum compression, and cushioning coefficient obtained from the experiment and simulation calculation were 30.68 g, 15.44 mm, and 2.65, and 31.96 g, 14.91 mm, and 2.79, respectively. The results indicate that all error values were less than 5%, confirming the precision and reliability of the model. Furthermore, the model was utilized to simulate and predict the cushioning performance of honeycomb sandwich panels with different cell structures and paper thicknesses. The surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) properties of low-dimensional semiconducting MXene nanoflakes have been investigated over the last decade. Despite this fact, the relationship between the surface characteristics and SERSing performance of a MXene layer has yet to be comprehensively investigated and elucidated. This work shows the importance of surface morphology on the overall SERS effect by studying few-layer Ti3C2Tx MXene-based SERS substrates fabricated by vacuum-assisted filtration (VAF) and spray coating on filter paper. The VAF deposition results in a dense MXene layer suitable for SERS with high spot-to-spot and substrate-to-substrate reproducibility, with a significant limit of detection (LoD) of 20 nM for Rhodamine B analyte. The spray-coated MXenes film revealed lower uniformity, with a LoD of 50 nM for drop-casted analytes. Moreover, we concluded that the distribution of the analyte deposited onto the MXene layer is affected by the presence of MXene aggregates created during the deposition of the MXene layer. Accumulation of the analyte molecules in the vicinity of MXene aggregates was observed for drop-casted deposition of the analyte, which affects the resulting SERS enhancement. Polyurethane foams are materials characterized by low density and thermal conductivity and can therefore be used as thermal insulation materials. They are synthesized from toxic and environmentally unfriendly petrochemicals called isocyanates and polyols, which react with each other to form a urethane group via the displacement of the movable hydrogen atom of the −OH group of the alcohol to the nitrogen atom of the isocyanate group. The following work describes the synthesis of polyurethane foams, focusing on using environmentally friendly materials, such as polyols derived from plant sources or modifiers, to strengthen the foam interface derived from plant precipitation containing cellulose derived from paper waste. The polyurethane foam industry is looking for new sources of materials to replace the currently used petrochemical products. Efficient and sustainable energy storage remains a critical challenge in the advancement of energy technologies. This study presents the fabrication and electrochemical evaluation of a self-supporting electrode material composed of MnO2 nanorods grown directly on a carbon paper and carbon nanotube (CNT) substrate using a hydrothermal method. The resulting CNT/MnO2 electrodes exhibit a unique structural architecture with a high surface area and a three-dimensional hierarchical arrangement, contributing to a substantial electrochemical surface area. Electrochemical testing reveals remarkable performance characteristics, including a specific capacitance of up to 316.5 F/g, which is 11 times greater than that of conventional CP/MnO2 electrodes. Moreover, the CNT/MnO2 electrodes demonstrate outstanding retention capacity, exhibiting a remarkable 165% increase over 10,000 cycles. Symmetric supercapacitor devices utilizing CNT/MnO2 electrodes maintain a large voltage window of 3 V and a specific capacitance as high as 200 F/g. These results underscore the potential of free-standing CNT/MnO2 electrodes to advance the development of high-performance supercapacitors, which can be crucial for efficient and sustainable energy storage solutions in various industrial and manufacturing applications. This study evaluates the potential use of discarded plasterboard paper as fibers from buildings to reinforce concrete. Various concentrations of wastepaper fibers (0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, 2%, and 2.5% by weight of the binder) were investigated in this research. To mitigate the water absorption effect of the paper fibers, metakaolin was employed as a partial cement replacement. The results demonstrate that the inclusion of the wastepaper fiber enhances the mechanical and durability performance of the concrete. The optimal fiber proportion was identified as 1%, leading to a 29% increase in the compressive strength, a 38% increase in the splitting tensile strength, a 12% decrease in the water absorption, and a 23% decrease in the drying shrinkage with respect to the concrete containing 20% metakaolin. However, exceeding this optimal fiber content results in decreased mechanical and durability properties due to the fiber agglomeration and non-uniform fiber distribution within the concrete matrix. Based on the microstructural analysis, the improved performance of the concrete is ascribed to decreased porosity, more refined pore structure, and reduced propagation of microcracks within the concrete matrix in the presence of wastepaper fiber. According to the results, concrete containing 20% metakaolin and 1% wastepaper fiber exhibits durability and mechanical properties comparable to those of the traditional concrete. This finding highlights the significant promise of reducing dependency on conventional cement and incorporating suitable recycled materials, such as discarded plasterboard, and secondary by-products like metakaolin. The advancement of agricultural mesh technology has contributed to its improved properties. As a result, agricultural nets are widely adopted in large-scale farming applications, for example, in cereal crop farming. However, a consequence of this increased use of agricultural nets is the accumulation of large amounts of waste. The current paper focuses on the recycling of agricultural nets used in wrapping straw bales to develop additives and fillers in cement composites. The research details an analysis of the use of waste agricultural meshes as an ingredient in cement composites. Six test series of different mixtures were conducted. In the first four series, agricultural waste was utilised as an additive in a composite comprising aggregate and cement slurry (the amounts of wasted nets were 20, 40, 60, and 80 kg/m3). In the last test series, the recyclate utilised comprised a mixture of cement slurry and waste only. The composites were subjected to standard tests and thermal resistance tests. The results showcased that that the addition of a net worsened the workability of the concrete mixture, and with increasing amounts of addition, the consistency of the mixture could change from liquid to dense plastic. The flexural strength of the composite decreased with increasing amounts of recyclate. In subsequent test series, the flexural strength value was lower than that of the control (3.93 MPa), from 7.38% (3.64 MPa) for the composite with 20 kg/m3 of recyclate to 37.66% (2.45 MPa) for the composite with of 80 kg/m3 recyclate. The flexural strength value of the net-filled composite without aggregate was very high (10.44 MPa), where the value obtained for the control composite was 62.36% lower. The results of the compressive strength test showed a decrease in this parameter with increasing amounts of additive. The value assessed for the control composite was 27.99 MPa. As expected, the composite that had no aggregate and consisted of only recycled filler had the lowest compressive strength. The value of this parameter was 13.07 MPa, and it was 53.31% lower than that of the control composite. The results of the tests of resistance to temperatures were similar to those recorded for the composites with polypropylene fibres. All composites demonstrated a significant decrease in their compressive and flexural strength after annealing. SEM imaging showed that the net fibres were closely bonded to the cement stone. Finally, it was concluded that recyclates performed best as fillers in lightweight composites with a low density, low absorption, high flexural strength, and satisfactory compressive strength. The article presents continued considerations presented in a prior publication on the development of a model for calculating the bending stiffness BS of cellular honeycomb paperboards, applying the strength properties of paper raw materials used for the production of paperboard and the geometric parameters of cellular board. The results of BS calculations obtained by using the analytical model presented in the prior publication were significantly overestimated in relation to the value obtained by measurements. The calculation error in relation to the measurement value for the tested group of paperboards in the case of bending stiffness in the machine direction MD was within the range from 23% to 116%, and the average error was 65%, while in the cross direction CD, it was within the range from 2% to 54%, and the average error was 31%. The calculation model proposed in this work based on the physical properties of cellular paperboard reduces the error values for bending stiffness in both the machine and cross directions. The value of the average error for both main directions in the paperboard plane was 10%. The method enables more accurate determination of BS in the machine direction MD and in the cross direction CD at the paperboard design stage. In order to validate the proposed analytical model, the calculation results were compared with the results of BS laboratory measurements performed using the four-point bending method and, in order to expand the group of tested paperboards, with the measurement results presented in the prior article for cardboards with different raw material composition and different geometric parameters. The characterization and modeling of the out-of-plane behavior of fiber-based materials is essential for understanding their mechanical properties and improving their performance in various applications, especially in the forming process. Despite this, research on paper and paperboard has mainly focused on its in-plane behavior rather than its out-of-plane behavior. However, for accurate material characterization and modeling, it is critical to consider the out-of-plane behavior. In particular, delamination occurs during forming processes such as creasing, folding, and deep drawing. In this study, three material models for paperboard are presented: a single all-material continuum model and two composite models using different cohesion methods. The two composite models decouple in-plane and out-of-plane behavior and consist of continuum models describing the behavior of individual layers and cohesive interface models connecting the layers. Material characterization experiments are performed to derive the model parameters and verify the models. The models are validated using three-point bending and bulge tests and show good agreement. A case study is also conducted on the application of the three models in the simulation of a deep drawing process with respect to wrinkle formation. By comparing the simulation results of wrinkle formation in the deep drawing process, the composite models, especially the cohesive interface composite model, show greater accuracy in replicating the experimental results, indicating that a single continuum model can also be used to represent wrinkles. The goal of this paper is to fabricate innovative diaphragm headphones using graphene oxide paper (GOP) and GOP/epoxy nanocomposites (GOPC). Initially, graphene oxide suspension is fabricated, and the vacuum filtration method is adopted to make GOP. Then, vacuum bag molding is used to fabricate GOPC from GOP. Hot pressing and associated molds are adopted to fabricate line-indented (GOPC-L) or curve-indented patterns (GOPC-C) on the GOPC. The performances of one kind of GOP and three kinds of GOPC diaphragm headphones are analyzed based on their sound pressure level (SPL) curves achieved by the Soundcheck measurement system. There are four important processing parameters that will influence the performance of the diaphragm, including material type GOP versus GOPC, indented pattern type, sonication time on suspension, and graphene weight fraction in suspension. Compliances of various diaphragms are measured by the Klippel LPM laser measurement system. The results indicate that effects of sonication time and graphene weight fraction on SPL of GOP and GOPC headphones are in reverse, and this is associated with their difference on compliance (modulus), mass, damping ratio, and microstructure uniformity. Either GOPC-L or GOPC-C seems to improve the microstructure of the GOPC, and leads to better SPL performance. The correlation between the previous four factors and SPLs of four kinds of diaphragm headphones is proposed by using scanning electron microscope (SEM) to examine the microstructure of these diaphragms. Flexible electrothermal heaters have attracted abundant attention in recent years due to their wide applications, but their preparation with high efficiency remains a challenge. Here in this work, a highly stable and bending-tolerant flexible heater was fabricated with graphite nanosheets and cellulose fibers through a scalable papermaking procedure. Its electrothermal property can be enhanced by a hot-pressing treatment and introduction of cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) during the papermaking protocol. The flexible heater may quickly reach its maximum temperature of 239.8 °C in around 1 min at a voltage of 9 V. The power density was up to 375.3 °C cm2 w−1. It appeared to have a high tolerance for bending deformation with various curvatures, and the temperature remained stable even under 100 bending with frequency of around 0.17 Hz. Over 100 alternatively heating and cooling cycles, it worked stably as well. It was proved to be used as wearable heating equipment, soft heaters, and aircraft deicing devices, suggesting its great prospect in the field of heat management. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

When modelling the anchorage performance of rebars with the tri-linear law, the calculation process of the load–deformation relation is complicated. The reason is that when the rebar–grout interface entered the elastic–softening–debonding stage, the softening section length and debonding section length vary simultaneously. To solve this issue, this paper proposes an enhanced numerical calculation method. When the rebar–grout interface entered the elastic–softening–debonding stage, the softening section length was fixed to a specific value. One loop function was created to calculate the debonding section length. With this method, the number of iteration calculations significantly decreased. The credibility of this calculation method was confirmed with experimental results. Two case studies were conducted to compare the load–deformation relation obtained with the original calculation method and enhanced calculation method. The results showed that good consistency existed between the results obtained by those two methods. This finding can significantly improve the calculation efficiency when studying the anchorage performance of rebars. This study explores the pyrolysis process applied to various non-utilized waste materials, specifically focusing on separated plastics from municipal waste, wood waste (including pallets and window frames), paper rejects, and automotive carpets. Different combinations of these waste materials were subjected to pyrolysis, a process involving high-temperature treatment (600 °C) in a nitrogen atmosphere. The resulting products, including biochar, gas, and liquid fractions, as well as the residual waste materials, underwent comprehensive analysis. The evaluation of pyrolysis products emphasizes their quality, energy content, and potential applications. Notably, the pyrolysis gas derived from the combination of separated municipal plastics and waste wood exhibited the highest calorific value at 49.45 MJ/m3. Additionally, Mixture 2, consisting of plastic and wood waste, demonstrated the highest calorific value for the pyrolysis condensate, reaching 30.62 MJ/kg. In this paper, issues related to the technology of compound castings composed of two parts, i.e., the working layer and the supporting part, made of X46Cr13 high-chromium steel and EN-GJL-HB 255 grey cast iron, respectively, in a liquid–solid system by pre-installing a monolithic insert in the mould cavity are presented. As a part of the research, the mechanism of formation of transitional zones in the bonding area of the above-mentioned two alloys was identified and described. It was shown that the phenomenon that determines the formation of a permanent bond between the joined materials is the transport of C and heat from the "high-carbon and hot" material of the supporting part poured into the mould in the form of liquid cast iron to the "low-carbon and cold" material of the working layer placed in the form of a steel monolithic insert inside the mould cavity. In the paper, the suitability of the compound castings technology developed for use in the coke industry is also presented. Full-size high-chromium steel–grey cast iron compound casting plates designed for the coke quenching car lining were positively verified in real coke plant operating conditions. Aerosol infrared stealth technology is a highly effective method to reduce the intensity of infrared radiation by releasing aerosol particles around the hot exhaust plume. This paper uses a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) two-phase flow model to simulate the exhaust plume fields of three kinds of engine nozzles containing aerosol particles. The Planck-weighted narrow spectral band gas model and the Reverse Monte Carlo method are used for infrared radiation transfer calculations to analyze the influencing factors and laws for the suppression of the infrared radiation properties of exhaust plumes by four typical aerosol particles. The simulation calculation results show that the radiation suppression efficiency of aerosol particles on the exhaust plume reaches its maximum value at a detection angle (ϕ) of 0° and decreases with increasing ϕ, reaching its minimum value at 90°. Reducing the aerosol particle size and increasing the aerosol mass flux can enhance the suppression effect. In the exhaust plume studied in this paper, the radiation suppression effect is best when the particle size is 1 μm and the mass flux is 0.08 kg/s. In addition, the inhibition of aerosol particles varies among different materials, with graphite having the best inhibition effect, followed by H2O, MgO, and SiO2. Solid particles will increase the radiation intensity and change the spectral radiation characteristics of the exhaust plume at detection angles close to the vertical nozzle axis due to the scattering effect. Finally, this paper analyzed the suppression effects of three standard nozzle configurations under the same aerosol particle condition and found that the S-bend nozzle provides better suppression. Photoresists are fundamental materials in photolithography and are crucial for precise patterning in microelectronic devices, MEMS, and nanostructures. This paper provides an in-depth review of recent advancements in positive photoresist research and development, focusing on discussion regarding the underlying mechanisms governing their behavior, exploring innovative fabrication techniques, and highlighting the advantages of the photoresist classes discussed. The paper begins by discussing the need for the development of new photoresist technologies, highlighting issues associated with adopting extreme ultraviolet photolithography and addressing these challenges through the development of advanced positive-tone resist materials with improved patterning features, resolution, and sensitivity. Subsequently, it discusses the working mechanisms and synthesis methods of different types and subtypes of photoresists, starting from non-chemically amplified, organic, and inorganic–organic hybrid photoresists and progressing to dry film resists, with an emphasis on the upsides of each. The paper concludes by discussing how future research in the field of lithography—prioritizing concerns related to environmental impacts, improved photoresist material and properties, and utilization of advanced quantum technology—can assist with revolutionizing lithography techniques. Cellular materials offer industries the ability to close gaps in the material selection design space with properties not otherwise achievable by bulk, monolithic counterparts. Their superior specific strength, stiffness, and energy absorption, as well as their multi-functionality, makes them desirable for a wide range of applications. The objective of this paper is to compile and present a review of the open literature focusing on the energy absorption of periodic three-dimensional cellular materials. The review begins with the methodical cataloging of qualitative and quantitative elements from 100 papers in the available literature and then provides readers with a thorough overview of the state of this research field, discussing areas such as parent material(s), manufacturing methods, cell topologies, cross-section shapes for truss topologies, analysis methods, loading types, and test strain rates. Based on these collected data, areas of great and limited research are identified and future avenues of interest are suggested for the continued maturation and growth of this field, such as the development of a consistent naming and classification system for topologies; the creation of test standards considering additive manufacturing processes; further investigation of non-uniform and non-cylindrical struts on the performance of truss lattices; and further investigation into the performance of lattice materials under the impact of non-flat surfaces and projectiles. Finally, the numerical energy absorption (by mass and by volume) data of 76 papers are presented across multiple property selection charts, highlighting various materials, manufacturing methods, and topology groups. While there are noticeable differences at certain densities, the graphs show that the categorical differences within those groups have large overlap in terms of energy absorption performance and can be referenced to identify areas for further investigation and to help in the preliminary design process by researchers and industry professionals alike. This paper presents the results of research conducted in the field of the technology of surface hardening of castings from unalloyed and low-alloy nodular cast iron using the laser remelting method. The range of studies included macro- and microhardness measurements using Rockwell and Vickers methods as well as metallographic microscopic examinations using a scanning electron microscope. Moreover, abrasive wear resistance tests were performed using the pin-on-disk method in the friction pair of nodular cast iron—SiC abrasive paper and the reciprocating method in the friction pair of nodular cast iron—unalloyed steel. Analysis of the test results shows that the casting surface layer remelting by laser for unalloyed nodular cast iron results in a greater improvement in its resistance to abrasive wear in the metal–mineral system, as compared to low-alloy cast iron. Additionally, carrying out the laser hardening treatment of the surface layer made of the tested grades of nodular cast iron is justified only if the tribological system of the cooperating working parts and allowable dimensional changes during their operation are known. Silicon carbide (SiC), as a widely used material, has great properties. To improve the flowability of ultrafine silicon carbide slurry, this study used sodium humate, tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH), and N-(β-monoaminoethyl)-γ-aminopropyltrimethyl(ethoxysilane) (KH792) to modify the ultrafine silicon carbide powder produced by Qingzhou Micro Powder Company. The effects of different modifiers on improving the flowability of ultrafine silicon carbide slurry were investigated by means of viscosity tests, sedimentation experiments, and SEM observations. Their modification mechanisms were investigated by means of zeta potential tests, XPS tests, and so on. In this paper, the initial modification of SiC was carried out with KH792, followed by the secondary modification with anionic and cationic modifiers (tetramethylammonium hydroxide and sodium humate), and the optimal modification conditions were investigated by means of a viscosity test, which showed that the lowest viscosity of the modified SiC reached 0.076 Pa·s and that the absolute maximum value of the zeta potential increased from 47.5 at the time of no modification to 63.7 (maximum values) at the time of modification. This means it has an improved surface charge, which improves dispersion. The adsorption results of the modifier on the silicon carbide surface were also demonstrated by the XPS test results. In a classic paper of 1960, W. H. Cherry and J. I. Gittleman discussed various thermal and electrodynamic aspects of the superconductive transition process relevant to practical applications. In a section of the paper that has remained unnoticed, they proposed a physical model for the Meissner effect. Earlier in 1940–1943, in work that has also remained unnoticed, K. M. Koch had introduced related physical ideas to explain the Meissner effect. Still earlier in 1937, J. C. Slater proposed a model to explain the perfect diamagnetism of superconductors. None of these ideas are part of the conventional London-BCS understanding of superconductivity, yet I will argue that they are essential to understand the Meissner effect, the most fundamental property of superconductors. The unconventional theory of hole superconductivity unifies and extends these ideas. A key missing element in the conventional theory as well as in these early theories is electron-hole asymmetry. A proper understanding of the Meissner effect may help with practical applications of superconductors, as well as to find new superconducting materials with desirable properties. This paper presents the results of experimental studies on the effects of temperature and time of annealing on the elastoplastic properties of bimetallic aluminium–copper sheets. Mechanical tests were carried out on flat samples previously heated to temperatures of 250, 350, 450, and 500 °C for 40, 90, and 150 min. At the beginning of the tests, the elastic constants and internal friction energy were determined after thermal exposure using the impulse vibration exposure method. Further tests were carried out on the same samples using the three-point bending test. Based on the tests, the following quantities were determined and analysed: elasticity angles, translocations of the neutral axes of the cross-sections of samples, and changes in the values of bending moments plasticizing the extreme layers of bimetallic Al/Cu samples resulting from thermal interactions. The final part of this paper presents the results of measurements of the thickness of diffusion zones at the interface and their effect on the stability of the joint after annealing. The studies that were conducted indicate the dominant influence of the thermal factor on the properties of the Al/Cu bimetal above the temperature of 350 °C, which leads to the weakening of its strength and the degradation of the structure at the metallic phase boundary. In this paper, we demonstrate a method of measuring the flexural elastic modulus of ceramics at an intermediate (~millimeter) scale at high temperatures. We used a picosecond laser to precisely cut microbeams from the location of interest in a bulk ceramic. They had a cross-section of approximately 100 μm × 300 μm and a length of ~1 cm. They were then tested in a thermal mechanical analyzer at room temperature, 500 °C, 800 °C, and 1100 °C using the four-point flexural testing method. We compared the elastic moduli of high-purity Al2O3 and AlN measured by our method with the reported values in the literature and found that the difference was less than 5% for both materials. This paper provides a new and accurate method of characterizing the high-temperature elastic modulus of miniature samples extracted from representative/selected areas of bulk materials. Ultra-thin overlays (UTOL) are a standard highway pre-maintenance method used to improve the road surface performance of asphalt pavements and to repair minor rutting and cracking. However, the thin thickness makes it very sensitive to external changes, which increases its wear and shortens its life. So, this paper aims to prepare a durable and skid-resistance asphalt ultra-thin overlay using epoxy asphalt (EA) and steel slag. First, the physical properties of EA were characterized by penetration, softening point, flexibility, and kinematic viscosity tests. The dynamic shear rheometer (DSR) test characterizes EA's rheological properties. Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), kinematic viscosity, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) characterized the EA's curing process. Finally, the pavement performance of an epoxy ultra-thin overlay (EUTOL) prepared with EA and steel slag was tested. The results show that the epoxy resin particles increase with the increase in epoxy resin dosage, and at 40%, its epoxy particles are uniformly distributed with the most significant area share. With the addition of epoxy resin, the needle penetration of EA decreases and then increases, the flexibility decreases at a slower rate, and the softening point rises significantly. Moreover, the growth of the elastic component in EA significantly improved the high-temperature viscoelastic properties. Considering its physical and rheological properties, the optimal doping amount of 40% was selected. By analyzing the curing behavior of EA (optimum dosage), the combination temperature of EA is 150 °C, which meets the needs of mixing and paving asphalt mixtures. After 12 h of maintenance at 120 °C, its reaction is sufficient. The skid-resistance durability, high-temperature, low-temperature, water stability, and fatigue resistance of UTOL can be effectively improved using steel slag coarse aggregate. This paper presents a type of acoustic metamaterial that combines a labyrinth channel with a Helmholtz cavity and a thin film. The labyrinth-opening design and thin-film combination contribute to the metamaterial's exceptional sound-insulation performance. After comprehensive research, it is observed that in the frequency range of 20–1200 Hz, this acoustic metamaterial exhibits multiple sound-insulation peaks, showing a high overall sound-insulation quality. Specifically, the first sound-insulation peak is 26.3 Hz, with a bandwidth of 13 Hz and giving a transmission loss of 56.5 dB, showing excellent low-frequency sound-insulation performance. To further understand the low-frequency sound-insulation mechanism, this paper uses the equivalent model method to conduct an acoustic–electrical analogy, construct an equivalent model of the acoustic metamaterial, and delve into the sound-insulation mechanism at the first sound-insulation peak. To confirm the validity of the theoretical calculations, physical experiments are carried out by 3D printing experimental samples. The analysis of the experimental data has yielded results that are consistent with the simulation data, providing empirical evidence for the accuracy of the theoretical model. The material has significant practical application value. Finally, various factors are studied in depth based on the established equivalent model, which can provide valuable insights for the design and practical engineering application of acoustic metamaterials. In salt lake areas, the cast-in-situ concrete structure has been corroded by the combination of sulfate and chloride for a long time. The incorporation of basalt fiber materials into concrete helps to improve the durability of concrete. In this paper, experiments were conducted to study the corrosion deterioration mechanisms of basalt fiber-reinforced cast-in-situ concrete under sulfate, chloride, and combined attack. The appearance, size, mass, flexural, and compressive strength of specimens were investigated during the immersion period to determine the changes in the physical and mechanical properties of specimens. Moreover, the microstructure and mineral changes of specimens during the immersion period were observed by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Thermogravimetric (TG)/ Derivative Thermogravimetric (DTG) analyses. Results show that premixed chloride has a significant detrimental influence on the strength development of cast-in-situ concrete, with concrete powder spalling occurring on the surface of the specimen. Severe corrosion degradation of specimens occurs under the external sulfate and internal chloride combined attack, resulting in lower flexural and compressive strength. The compressive strength and flexural strength of the corroded specimens decreased by 15.4% and 24.8%, respectively, compared with the control group at 28 days. Moreover, premixed basalt fiber has a beneficial influence on cast-in-situ concrete. When the basalt fiber content is 0.5%, the flexural strength of the specimen is increased by 16.2%. The filling and bridging effect of basalt fiber alleviates the negative effects caused by corrosion. In addition, increasing fiber content is beneficial for enhancing its effectiveness when the fiber content is less than 0.5%. Hydrogen sulfide is present in active or extinct volcanic areas (mofettas). The habitable premises in these areas are affected by the presence of hydrogen sulfide, which, even in low concentrations, gives off a bad to unbearable smell. If the living spaces considered are closed enclosures, then a system can be designed to reduce the concentration of hydrogen sulfide. This paper presents a membrane-based way to reduce the hydrogen sulfide concentration to acceptable limits using a cellulosic derivative–propylene hollow fiber-based composite membrane module. The cellulosic derivatives considered were: carboxymethyl–cellulose (NaCMC), P1; cellulose acetate (CA), P2; methyl 2–hydroxyethyl–cellulose (MHEC), P3; and hydroxyethyl–cellulose (HEC), P4. In the permeation module, hydrogen sulfide is captured with a solution of cadmium that forms cadmium sulfide, usable as a luminescent substance. The composite membranes were characterized by SEM, EDAX, FTIR, FTIR 2D maps, thermal analysis (TG and DSC), and from the perspective of hydrogen sulfide air removal performance. To determine the process performances, the variables were as follows: the nature of the cellulosic derivative–polypropylene hollow fiber composite membrane, the concentration of hydrogen sulfide in the polluted air, the flow rate of polluted air, and the pH of the cadmium nitrate solution. The pertraction efficiency was highest for the sodium carboxymethyl–cellulose (NaCMC)–polypropylene hollow fiber membrane, with a hydrogen sulfide concentration in the polluted air of 20 ppm, a polluted air flow rate (QH2S) of 50 L/min, and a pH of 2 and 4. The hydrogen sulfide flux rates, for membrane P1, fall between 0.25 × 10−7 mol·m2·s−1 for the values of QH2S = 150 L/min, CH2S = 20 ppm, and pH = 2 and 0.67 × 10−7 mol·m−2·s−1 for the values of QH2S = 50 L/min, CH2S = 60 ppm, and pH = 2. The strain-hardening geopolymer composite (SHGC) is a new type of fiber concrete with excellent ductility and environmental friendliness. However, the high cost of fibers greatly limits its widespread application. This paper proposes the use of untreated low-cost polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibers and polyethylene (PE) fibers to develop a low-cost, high-performance SHGC. Axial compression and axial tension tests were conducted on the SHGC with different PE fiber volume fractions (1%, 1.5%, and 2%) and different PVA fiber replacement ratios (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%) to investigate the hybrid effects of fibers with different surface properties and to reveal the mechanism of fiber hybridization on the mechanical behavior of SHGCs. The results show that increasing the PE fiber volume fraction improves the compressive and tensile ductility of the SHGC while increasing the PVA fiber replacement rate impacts the strength indicators positively due to the good interface effect formed between its hydrophilic surface and the matrix. When the PVA fiber replacement ratio is 100%, the compressive strength (93.4 MPa) of the SHGC is the highest, with a 21.1% increase compared to the control group. However, the tensile strength shows a trend of first increasing and then decreasing with the increase in the PVA fiber replacement ratio, reaching the highest at a 25% replacement ratio, with a 12.5% increase compared to the control group. Furthermore, a comprehensive analysis of the economic and environmental performance of the SHGC indicates that a 25% PVA fiber replacement ratio results in the best overall economic benefits and relatively low actual costs, although the effect of fiber hybridization on carbon emission indicators is not significant. Constructing photonic crystals with core-shell structured nanoparticles is an important means for applications such as secure communication, anti-counterfeiting marking, and structural color camouflage. Nonetheless, the precise synthesis technology for core-shell structured nanoparticles at the hundred-nanometer scale faces significant challenges. This paper proposes a controlled synthesis method for core-shell structured nanoparticles using a template method. By using 100 nm diameter silica nanospheres as templates and coating them with a ferroferric oxide shell layer, SiO2@Fe3O4 core-shell structured nanoparticles with regular morphology and good uniformity can be obtained. The study experimentally investigated the effects of feed amount, modifiers, temperature, and feed order on the coating effect, systematically optimizing the preparation process. Centrifugal driving technology was used to achieve structural colors in the visible wavelength range. Additionally, the method successfully created well-defined and uniform core-shell structured nanoparticles using 200 nm diameter silica nanospheres as templates, demonstrating that this controllable synthesis method can effectively produce core-shell structured nanoparticles over a wide range of particle sizes. The template method proposed in this paper can significantly improve morphological regularity and size uniformity while effectively reducing the preparation cost of core-shell structured nanoparticles. With the aim to systematically analyze the ambient relative humidity on the shrinkage strain of Engineered Geopolymer Composites (EGCs), this paper studied four variables (fly ash to ground granulated blast furnace slag mass ratio, alkali content, water–binder ratio, and fiber volume content) though orthogonal experimental design and three different relative humidity values (30%, 60%, and 100% RH). The results indicated that, for EGC specimens under 30% RH and 60% RH, the decrease in slag content and increase in alkali content both resulted in greater drying shrinkage. The addition of fibers effectively reduced the shrinkage strain, while a minor impact on shrinkage was presented by the W/B ratio. The first and second key factors affecting the drying shrinkage strain were the FA/GGBS ratio and the alkali content. The optimal ratio of FA/GGBS, alkali content, and fiber volume fraction were 0/100, 4%, and 1.5%, respectively. Dring shrinkage strain was decreased with the increase in ambient relative humidity. Compared with the shrinkage strain under 30% RH, the reduction in shrinkage strain under 60% RH and 100%RH was up to 46.1% and 107.5%, respectively. At last, a relationship between shrinkage strain and curing age under 30% and 60% RH was established with a fitting degree from 0.9492 to 0.9987, while no clear relationship was presented under 100% RH. In recent years, absorbers related to metamaterials have been heavily investigated. In particular, VO2 materials have received focused attention, and a large number of researchers have aimed at multilayer structures. This paper presents a new concept of a three-layer simple structure with VO2 as the base, silicon dioxide as the dielectric layer, and graphene as the top layer. When VO2 is in the insulated state, the absorber is in the closed state, Δf = 1.18 THz (absorption greater than 0.9); when VO2 is in the metallic state, the absorber is open, Δf = 4.4 THz (absorption greater than 0.9), with ultra-broadband absorption. As a result of the absorption mode conversion, a phenomenon occurs with this absorber, with total transmission and total reflection occurring at 2.4 THz (A = 99.45% or 0.29%) and 6.5 THz (A = 90% or 0.24%) for different modes. Due to this absorption property, the absorber is able to achieve full-transmission and full-absorption transitions at specific frequencies. This paper mainly explores the feasibility of using desert sand (DS) and recycled aggregate in cement-stabilized bases. Recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) and DS serve as the substitutes of natural coarse and fine aggregates, respectively, in cement-stabilized bases. A four-factor and four-level orthogonal test is designed to analyze the unconfined compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, and compressive resilient modulus. Furthermore, this paper investigates the effects of cement content, fly ash (FA) replacement rate, RCA replacement rate, and DS replacement rate on the road performance of cement-stabilized bases composed of RCA and DS. The test results reveal that the performance of cement-stabilized bases with partial RCA instead of natural coarse aggregate (NCA) and partial DS instead of natural fine aggregate satisfies the road use. The correlation and microscopic analyses of the test results imply the feasibility of applying DS and recycled aggregate to cement-stabilized bases. This paper calculates and evaluates the life cycle of carbon emissions of desert sand and recycled coarse aggregate cement-stabilized macadam (DRCSM) and finds that both DS and RCA can reduce the carbon emissions of CSM, which has a positive effect on improving the environment and solving the climate crisis. With the increasing drilling depth of mines, the cross-complexity of fissures in the rock body, and the frequent occurrence of sudden water surges, polymer slurry, with its advantages of good permeability and strong water plugging, is increasingly used in mine grouting projects. Additional research is needed in order to further improve the grouting performance of polymer slurry, ensure the safety of mining operations, and reduce the grouting cost. In this paper, a polymer composite grouting material was prepared with diphenyl methyl diisocyanate, polyether polyol, and fly ash, as the main raw materials, with coupling agent and catalyst as auxiliary reagents. The performance of the composite grouting material in terms of mechanical properties, thermal stability, hydrophobicity, and bonding was explored. This study's findings indicated that incorporating fly ash led to notable enhancements in the thermal stability and water resistance of the polymer slurry. Furthermore, the introduction of fly ash notably raised the starting degradation temperature of the polymer, boosted the water contact angle of the composite material, and reduced the density and reaction temperature of the composite material. In addition, the catalyst and coupling agent as auxiliary reagents affected the polymers in terms of mechanical properties; in this paper, dibutyltin dilaurate was used as the catalyst, and organosilanes were used as the coupling agent. The catalyst successfully sped up the polymer's gel time, however, an excessive quantity of catalyst compromised the polymer's mechanical characteristics. The addition of organosilanes has a positive effect on the dynamic mechanical properties of the composites, fracture toughness, compression, bending, and bond strength. The aim is to reduce the elastic deformation of the web and side walls of low-stiffness thin-walled beams when the floating fixture method is used. This paper takes the number and position of fixture points as the optimization variables, establishes a calculation model of elastic deformation, and constructs the objective function of maximum total elastic deformation. An optimized solution utilizing the augmented multiplier method is employed, which forms the basis for the fixture layout optimization method to reduce the elastic deformation of low-stiffness thin-walled beams. A theoretical calculation, simulation analysis, and the fixture layout optimization of total maximum elastic deformation were completed using an aluminum alloy low-stiffness thin-walled beam as an example. The results show that based on the optimized layout, the average relative error between the calculated value and the simulated value of total maximum elastic deformation is 17.43%, and the simulated value of maximum elastic deformation is reduced by 48.49% after optimizing the fixture layout. The measured value is reduced by 0.02 mm on average, and deformation is reduced by 74.07%, which verifies the effectiveness of the floating fixture layout optimization control of machining elastic deformation proposed in this paper. The simulation of nano-scratching on metallic substrates using smooth particle hydrodynamics (SPH) has been attempted by researchers in recent years. From a review of the existing SPH simulations of nano-scratching processes, it was found that mainly two different material constitutive models (i.e., the Johnson–Cook model and the elasto-plastic model) were employed to describe the material flow. In the majority of these investigations, the Johnson–Cook model was employed to characterise the stress flow of the material subjected to scratching. A natural question remains as to which material constitutive model is preferable for the SPH modelling of nano-scratching when quantitatively predicting the process outcomes. In this paper, a quantitative comparison of material responses during the nano-scratching of copper is reported when the process is simulated using SPH with two different constitutive material models, namely the Johnson–Cook and the elasto-plastic models. In particular, the simulated cutting and normal forces as well as the machined topography using both approaches are compared with the experimental work reported in the literature. The SPH-based simulation results in this paper are investigated based on the following three aspects: (a) cutting and normal forces with different material models and depths of the cut, (b) the effect of the cutting speed on forces and its dependence on adopted material models, and (c) the effect of adopted material models on the surface topography of machined nano-grooves. The SPH simulation results showed that using the Johnson–Cook material model, cutting and normal forces were closer to the experimental data compared to the results obtained with the elasto-plastic model. The results also showed that the cross-sectional profile of simulated nano-grooves using the Johnson–Cook model was closer to the experimental results. The increasing concern over environmental sustainability has prompted various industries to reassess their practices and explore greener alternatives. Dentistry, as a significant contributor to waste generation, is actively seeking methods to minimize its environmental footprint. This paper examines the environmental implications of clear aligner therapy (CAT) in orthodontics and explores strategies to prioritize sustainability in aligner manufacturing and usage. CAT has gained popularity as a viable alternative to traditional fixed appliances due to advancements in biomaterials and computer-aided design (CAD) and manufacturing (CAM) technologies. The global market for clear aligners is expanding rapidly, with significant growth projected in the coming years. To address these challenges, this paper proposes adopting the principles of reduce, reuse, recycle, and rethink (4Rs) in orthodontic practices. Strategies such as minimizing resource consumption, incorporating recycled materials, and promoting proper aligner disposal and recycling can significantly reduce environmental harm. This paper explores emerging technologies and materials to mitigate the environmental impacts of CAT. Additionally, initiatives promoting aligner recycling and repurposing offer promising avenues for reducing plastic waste and fostering a circular economy. In conclusion, while CAT offers numerous benefits in orthodontic treatment, its environmental impact cannot be overlooked. By implementing sustainable practices and embracing innovative solutions, the orthodontic community can contribute to a more environmentally conscious future while continuing to provide quality care to patients. The green production of nanocomposites holds great potential for the development of new materials. Graphene is an important class of carbon-based materials. Despite its high carrier mobility, it has low light absorption and is a zero-bandgap material. In order to tune the bandgap and improve the light absorption, S, N co-doped low-dimensional C/C nanocomposites with polymer and graphene oxide nanoribbons (the graphene oxide nanoribbons were prepared by open zipping of carbon nanotubes in a previous study) were synthesized by one-pot carbonization through dimensional-interface and phase-interface tailoring of nanocomposites in this paper. The resulting C/C nanocomposites were coated on untreated A4 printing paper and the optoelectronic properties were investigated. The results showed that the S, N co-doped C/C nanoribbon/carbon dot hybrid exhibited enhanced photocurrent signals of the typical 650, 808, 980, and 1064 nm light sources and rapid interfacial charge transfer compared to the N-doped counterpart. These results can be attributed to the introduction of lone electron pairs of S, N elements, resulting in more transition energy and the defect passivation of carbon materials. In addition, the nanocomposite also exhibited some electrical switching response to the applied strain. The photophysical and doping mechanisms are discussed. This study provides a facile and green chemical approach to prepare hybrid materials with external stimuli response and multifunctionality. It provides some valuable information for the design of C/C functional nanocomposites through dimensional-interface and phase-interface tailoring and the interdisciplinary applications. In this paper, the precipitation behavior and its effect on resistivity in a new type of nickel–iron-based alloy during short-term aging were investigated. During the aging process, the γ ′ phase increases in average size and decreases in number, with its area fraction fluctuating over time. This fluctuation is caused by the mismatch in the redissolution and growth rates of the γ ′ phase. As the area fraction of the γ ′ phase increases, the content of solute atoms in the matrix that scatter electrons decreases, lowering the resistivity of the alloy. Additionally, the continuous precipitation of M 23 C 6 at grain boundaries during aging causes the resistivity to gradually increase. This paper explains the fluctuation in the total amount of γ ′ phase during short-term aging and proposes a new method for characterizing the precipitation behavior of the γ ′ phase in the novel alloy using the relative trend of resistivity changes. Concrete coatings show significant promise in shielding concrete substrates from corrosion by effectively resisting harmful ions and moisture. Thanks to their practicality, high efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, coatings are considered a potent technique for enhancing the chloride resistance of reinforced concrete structures. Over recent decades, extensive research has concentrated on employing coatings to bolster concrete's ability to withstand chloride penetration. This paper provides a holistic review of the current studies on chloride infiltration in concrete surfaces treated with coating materials, primarily focused on chloride resistance improvement efficiency and chloride transport modeling. Firstly, by comparing the functions of assorted coatings, four inherent protection mechanisms are summarized and elaborated thoroughly. Afterwards, the chloride resistance improvement efficiency of assorted coatings reported in current studies are reviewed and compared in great detail, with a specific focus on inorganic, organic, and organic–inorganic composite coatings. Furthermore, the theoretical research about methodologies for chloride transport behavior prediction is summarized. Finally, this paper outlines the potential research directions in this field and the theoretical, technical, and practical application challenges. This review not only identifies critical areas necessitating further investigation and problem-solving in this domain but also aids in selecting appropriate coating materials and refining corrosion management strategies. As a result of continuing scientific and technological progress, electromagnetic waves have become increasingly pervasive across a variety of domains, particularly within the microwave frequency range. These waves have found extensive applications in wireless communications, high-frequency electronic circuits, and several related fields. As a result, absorptive materials have become indispensable for dual-use applications across both the military and civilian domains because of their exceptional electromagnetic wave absorption properties. This paper, beginning with the operating mechanisms of absorptive materials, aims to provide an overview of the strategies that have been used to enhance the absorption performance of iron-based magnetic absorbers (IBMAs) and discuss the current research status of absorptive material components. The fabrication of a ferromagnetic absorber in terms of morphology, heterointerface coupling, and macrostructural enhancements and the effect of powder characteristics on their electromagnetic properties are discussed. Additionally, the application of IBMAs in elastomers is summarized. Finally, this paper summarizes the limitations of existing ferromagnetic absorber materials and offers a perspective on their potential future developments. With the increasing global focus on energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, intelligent building materials such as thermochromic glazing have emerged as a hot topic of research. The intent of this paper is to explore the utilization of gel-type thermochromic glazing within the realm of architectural energy conservation calculations. It conducts an exhaustive examination of the material's attributes, its capacity for energy savings, and the obstacles encountered in real-world applications. Through simulation studies and case analyses, this paper assesses the energy efficiency of gel-type thermochromic glazing across various climates and suggests strategies for optimization. The study revealed that the incorporation of gel-based thermochromic glazing leads to a marked reduction in energy usage within buildings, an improvement in indoor comfort levels, and significant environmental advantages. Perovskites have been largely implemented into optoelectronics as they provide several advantages such as long carrier diffusion length, high absorption coefficient, high carrier mobility, shallow defect levels and finally, high crystal quality. The brisk technological development of perovskite devices is connected to their relative simplicity, high-efficiency processing and low production cost. Significant improvement has been made in the detection performance and the photodetectors' design, especially operating in the visible (VIS) and near-infrared (NIR) regions. This paper attempts to determine the importance of those devices in the broad group of standard VIS and NIR detectors. The paper evaluates the most important parameters of perovskite detectors, including current responsivity (R), detectivity (D*) and response time (τ), compared to the standard photodiodes (PDs) available on the commercial market. The conclusions presented in this work are based on an analysis of the reported data in the vast pieces of literature. A large discrepancy is observed in the demonstrated R and D*, which may be due to two reasons: immature device technology and erroneous D* estimates. The published performance at room temperature is even higher than that reported for typical detectors. The utmost D* for perovskite detectors is three to four orders of magnitude higher than commercially available VIS PDs. Some papers report a D* close to the physical limit defined by signal fluctuations and background radiation. However, it is likely that this performance is overestimated.
