This study was designed to examine the challenges of selection and acquisition of grey literature in Francis Sulemanu Idachaba Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi. Six research questions were answered. The population for this study was 89 subjects comprising all staff both Professionals and Para-professional from University of Agriculture Makurdi library. There was no sampling for the study. The entire population of 89 was used for the study as sample. Findings of the study revealed types of grey Literature provided, processes of selecting grey literature, methods of acquisition of grey literature, methods of processing of grey literature, extent to which grey literature and the strategies for improving on the selection and acquisition of grey literature in Francis Sulemanu Idachaba Library University of Agriculture Makurdi. The study concluded that there are strategies could be adopted for improving the selection and acquisition of grey literature. It was recommended that the government should make provision for adequate funds for acquisition of grey literature, University management should embark on regular review and supply of new grey materials, regular review and supply of new grey materials the library and creation of proper awareness to both teachers and students on the role of grey literature. This study surveyed the challenges faced by the university libraries in South East Nigeria in selecting and acquiring electronic resources. The descriptive survey research method was adopted for the study. The population consisted of 86. Questionnaire and interview were used for data collection. Data collected from the questionnaire were analyzed using simple statistics (mean). The findings revealed that the university libraries under study had considered all the thirteen criteria when selecting electronic resources in the library which had mean values ranging from 2.70 to 3.41 and are all above the cut-off point of 2.50 on a 4-point rating scale. The findings also showed that the university libraries use multiple tools to select the e-resources, and the overall mean showed that the use of trial offers by mounting a link to their resources without cost (mean = 3.12) is ranked highest and used mostly by the libraries, while the use of reviews provided through electronic resources (mean =2 .57) is ranked lowest as tools used in sound electronic resources selection in libraries; that the libraries use different methods to acquire the e- resources which include, through subscription, purchase and open internet source. None of the libraries under study was into a consortium with one another. However, the study revealed twelve challenges with cost as a major challenge of selection and acquisition of electronic resources. The study recommended that the university libraries in South East Nigeria should improve on the libraries budget in order to attain to the cost of electronic resources and for the training of staff that will handle the electronic collection development. That the libraries should take a drastic initiative of acquiring electronic resources through a consortium in order to enjoy the discount associated with consortium subscription. Nigerian literature has focused more on the general concept of e-resources without dedicated attention to e-books. This work takes a critical look at the challenges related to e-books collection and management in Nigerian universities. The study was conducted among six federal universities in Nigeria; one from each geopolitical zone of the federation. A survey research design was utilized to carry out the study with structured interview conducted for system librarians of the six university libraries. While there is proliferation of e-books in the libraries, absence of local titles, budgeting, consortium and awareness of DRM issues remain obvious challenges. Theses and projects constitute a very important aspect of resource materials found in libraries. They are not published by any conventional means. This makes it a necessity for libraries to ensure that they are properly processed, preserved and made accessible for teaching, learning and research. This paper looks at the management of theses and projects in selected university libraries in Ogun State of Nigeria. The paper discovered that the methods of processing these materials include indexing and classification among various other methods. The major facilities for shelving and storing theses and projects as evident in the research are wooden shelves and cabinets. In order to checkmate the entrance of pests and rodents, eating is prohibited in the theses section. This helps in preservation of the materials. It was discovered that only twenty four respondents attested to digitization as a means of preserving the resources. The use of CCTV in monitoring the misuse of theses and projects is not a common practice .Only sixteen respondents maintained that CCTV are installed in the theses section of the library. The research also discovered that the major problems hindering effective theses and projects management include lack of storage facilities, insufficient skilled manpower, and lack of fund, among others. The work finally recommends that theses and projects should be catalogued, classified and abstracted. The installation of CCTV in the theses section, improvement of preservation strategies and benchmarking of theses management practices form part of the recommendations. The study investigated the collections and development of law journals in the South East Universities in relation to the Council of Legal Education standards. The scope consisted of 119 titles of local and foreign law journals listed by Council of Legal Education as accreditation bench mark. It involves seven law faculty libraries in the universities South East Geopolitical zone of Nigeria that offer law programme. The standard check list which is the benchmark released by Council of Legal Education serves as the instrument for data collection. This check list was found appropriate and was adopted for this study. Two research questions were formulated and guided the study. The findings showed that no law library in the zone met the Council of Legal Education standards in both local and foreign law journals. The library literature on collection development has recently seen a spate of publications and presentations on patron-driven acquisitions (PDA). The bulk of this literature has addressed the implementation and touted the successes of PDA at academic libraries, yet a counter literature has been developing, much of it addressing the potential failings of library patrons as selectors. There has been little focus, however, on patrons' potentially problematic behaviors as post-purchase users of PDA materials. This study aimed to discover whether library patrons might in effect be monopolizing print books purchased via PDA via circulation renewals. The study found that there was a statistically significant difference in the proportions of circulated and circulated-and-renewed books acquired via PDA, librarians' orders, and approval plan selection. The study also found that ratios of renewals to circulations for circulated-and-renewed approval plan books were significantly greater than were the ratios for librarians' and PDA books, generally, and for books available for more than one year but less than six years. There were no significant differences for books available for one year or less. PDA books' renewal-to-circulation ratios were significantly greater than those of approval plan books only for books that had circulated a single time.
