This research study, application of ICT in newly Established Federal University Library in Nigeria; a case study of Federal University Lokoja. The research was guided by five research questions. Survey research method was used and questionnaire was the instrument for data collection. Mean scores where used to analyze the data generated. From the analyzed data, it was discovered that ICTs are averagely applicable though it has enormously benefited some library services in Federal University Lokoja, Library. The challenges identified were inadequate ICT facilities, Epileptic power supply and poor network facilities. In consonant with the vision of Federal University Lokoja Library, the library management has fully embraced the use of ICT in information handling and services so as to fit in with the ICT drive of the 21st century. Based on the findings it was recommended that there should be financial assistance from both government and nongovernmental bodies, for effective and efficient power supply, there should be a supplementary standby generator to ensure the continuity of work in the case of power outage, every division in the library should be completely automated in order to facilitate and create an avenue for effective service delivery and computer training and re-training programs should be organized from time to time to assist librarians who do not have knowledge in computer skills as this will aid awareness of computer potentials and capabilities. In today's digital era, there have been an ever increase in academic libraries embracing digital collections to provide access to a wealth of information to their users. However, the demerit of this digitization brings about the need to ensure the security of these valuable digital collections, especially in developing countries where cyber threats are rampant. This paper aims to address the challenges faced by academic libraries in developing countries with regards to best cybersecurity practices for securing digital collections. The paper also highlights the long-term benefits of prioritizing cyber security in academic libraries. Besides protecting valuable digital collections, robust cyber security practices enhance users trust, promote collaboration among institutions, and support academic research in a secure environment. This paper serves as a valuable resource for academic libraries in developing countries, as it offers guidelines and insights to enhance their cyber security practices. By adopting most of these best practices, libraries can safeguard their digital collections, mitigate cyber threats, and contribute to a secure and thriving academic environment. Lack of academic integrity has frustrated the attainment of educational objectives especially in tertiary institutions in recent times. Perhaps, one of the most prevalent fraudulent practice among students, academics and researchers today is plagiarism. This paper examines the concept, nature and intricacies of plagiarism. It notes the devastating effects of plagiarism on the individual, academic institutions and the society at large. The paper argues that libraries by their assigned and inherent functions have a strategic role to play in curbing plagiarism. The roles include awareness creation, teaching of referencing and citation skills, information literacy programmes among others.
