Carrol D. Lunau is the senior resource sharing officer for the National & International Library Programs at the National Library of Canada in Ottawa, Ontario. Lunau focuses on interoperability issues between libraries in Canada. While the National Library's plans have been only partly fulfilled the provinces have taken the ideas that Lunau sells and incorporated them into regional resource sharing.

Marilyn Wallace is a customer service manager for the Village Square Library a branch of the Calgary Public Library (CPL), in Alberta. Over the years Marilyn Wallace has managed several branches of the Calgary Public Library, and everywhere she has gone, she has increased programming, expanded library use, and forged new partnerships with community groups and social agencies. At the Crescent Heights and Memorial Park branches, she built a partnership with Calgary's art gallery and reached out to local literary groups to create a writer-in-residence program. After Wallace doubled circulation and user satisfaction at the Louise Riley branch, Kitty Pope, CPL's customer service manager, chose her to head the underused Village Square Library, located in an area marked by low income, low literacy, and great ethnic and linguistic diversity.

From the very beginning of her career, when she was a customer service representative for Utlas's French speaking customers in Quebec, Barbara Franchetto has been helping librarians connect to and use online services. In 1989, when she became senior coordinator for training and development for the Southern Ontario Library System (SOLS), Toronto, Franchetto got to know the librarians at those 252 public libraries as she traveled around the province delivering presentations.Then in 1991, as chair of the Network Management Committee, Franchetto was assigned to write the requirements for developing a new provincial system, INFO: Information Network for Ontario. Not limiting herself to public libraries, in 1999 Franchetto founded a purely volunteer organization, COOL (Consortium of Ontario Libraries), which organized public, academic, and school libraries to gain collective clout in negotiating licenses for electronic products, including an e-books collection that the small and medium-sized libraries could not have afforded on their own.
