Abstract

The article presents a study which explores the impact of B-cell receptor (BCR) pathway inhibitors on the CD20 levels and antitumor activity of anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies. It reveals that BCR inhibitors strongly downregulate CD20 expression in tumor cells that resulted to decreased binding of anti-CD20 mAbs to the surface of tumor cells. The impairment of complement- dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) mechanisms that mediate antitumor effects of anti-CD20 mAbs in vivo is also tackled.
