The author reflects on the enforcement actions of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the British Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Financial Services Authority (FSA) against banks and other financial institutions that do not comply with financial regulations. He believes that the implementation of enforcement actions does not guarantee higher levels of financial regulation compliance. He also discusses the increase in fines imposed the by the financial regulators.
