Abstract

The article reports on the results of research which was conducted in an effort to determine the effectiveness of administering intradermal avotermin for the improvement of skin scarring. Researchers performed three double blind, placebo controlled studies which examined healthy men and women with scarring. They found that the administration of intradermal avotermin led to significant improvements in scarring and as a result has the potential to provide an accelerated and permanent improvement in scarring in patients.
