The comparison of how single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNT) and graphene transistors have responded to changes in the composition of the aqueous electrolyte in which they are immersed is described. The studies have major implications for interpreting and optimizing sensing experiments with nanocarbon transistors.

Several studies are conducted to prove that fast electron-transfer kinetics can be probed by the solution-filled cavity with two electrodes undergoing rapid redox cycling process. The discussed devices are shown to be extremely robust and hence can be used as a tool for electrochemical measurements.

The theoretical description of the kinetics of electrochemical charge transfer at single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNT) electrodes is presented by taking into account the SWNT electronic band structure and quantum capacitance. The unique combination of properties has made SWNTs a model system for studying the effect of the electronic structure of the electrode on electrochemical charge transfer.

A study was conducted to demonstrate that noble metals could be deposited on single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT) sidewalls under direct potential control, where the nanotube acts as a nonsacrificial template for the deposition clusters. The main observations were that the metal clusters could be deposited on the SWNT sidewalls under potential control and the particle size and surface coverage could be tuned with potential, deposition time and metal salt concentration.
