In the past decade the "Journal of the American Chemical Society," has seen a very significant increase in research results submitted that has resulted in a near doubling of manuscripts received since 1994. Editors will consult with a member of the JACS Board of Editors and Editorial Advisory Board in arriving at their decision. The members of the Board of Editors accept full responsibility for all decisions about manuscripts. The final responsibility for acceptance or declination rests with the Editor.

In a Table 2 of the article "Polarizing the Nazarov Cyclization: Efficient Catalysis Under Mild Conditions," Compound 12a was represented by the wrong drawing. Furthermore, correction is made in the diagram of the article "Iridium Luminophore Complexes for Unimolecular Oxygen Sensors." The corrected diagram of mer-4, indicates the labeling scheme that should be used in assigning the H NMR data as mentioned in the in Table 1of the same article.
