Collecting and analyzing data from all devices to improve the efficiency of business processes is an important task of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). In the age of data explosion, extensive text data generated by the IIoT have given birth to a variety of text representation methods. The task of text representation is to convert the natural language to a form that computer can understand with retaining the original semantics. However, these methods are difficult to effectively extract the semantic features among words and distinguish polysemy in natural language. Combining the advantages of convolutional neural network (CNN) and variational autoencoder (VAE), this paper proposes an intelligent CNN-VAE text representation algorithm as an advanced learning method for social big data within next-generation IIoT, which help users identify the information collected by sensors and perform further processing. This method employs the convolution layer to capture the local features of the context and uses the variational technique to reconstruct feature space to make it conform to the normal distribution. In addition, the improved word2vec model based on topical word embedding (TWE) is utilized to add topical information to word vectors to distinguish polysemy. This paper takes the social big data as an example to illustrate the way of the proposed algorithm applied in the next-generation IIoT and utilizes Cnews dataset to verify the performance of proposed method with four evaluating metrics (i.e., recall, accuracy, precision, and F1-score). Channel pruning has recently become a widely used model compression method. However, most existing channel pruning methods only prune to decrease the model size, such as the number of parameters or FLOPs, and hence the decrease in model size does not effectively lead to an improvement in inference performance. To address this problem, this paper proposes a latency-optimized channel pruning method for CNN inference acceleration on GPU platforms by latency stair-step discrimination, two-stage benefit assessment and latency-sharing channel pruning. Compared with recent state-of-the-art model compression methods, it can achieve significant improvements in inference performance with comparable compression rates and model accuracy. The contributions of this paper include the following: first, a three-point latency stair-step discrimination method is proposed for determining the candidate prunable coordinates with the best latency performance adapted to the current hardware. Then, a two-stage benefit assessment method based on interlayer dependencies is proposed for determining the optimal channel pruning rate of each layer in the network. Finally, a latency-sharing channel pruning framework is proposed to accelerate the model pruning adaptation process. The method proposed in this paper can significantly reduce the model inference latency on multiple types of GPU platforms. To verify the effectiveness, we use three general-purpose GPU platforms and two embedded GPU platforms to evaluate the algorithm performance. The experimental results show that for recent state-of-the-art CNNs, the proposed method can achieve a 22.0–6.6% latency reduction and a 1.3 –3.0 inference performance improvement as well as a 1.2–4.3 pruning adaptation speedup with high model accuracy. The array redistribution problem occurs in many important applications in parallel computing. In this paper, we consider this problem in a torus network. Tori are preferred to other multidimensional networks (like hypercubes) due to their better scalability (IEE Trans. Parallel Distrib. Syst. 50(10), 1201–1218, []). We present a message combining approach that splits any array redistribution problem in a series of broadcasts where all sources send messages of the same size, thus a balanced traffic load is achieved. Unlike existing array redistribution algorithms, the scheme introduced in this work eliminates the need for data reorganization in the memory of the source and target processors. The back-projection algorithm can adapt to synthetic aperture radar imaging in any mode because of its time-domain imaging characteristics, so it has received increasing attention in scientific research and engineering practice. However, the large enormous of computation of the back-projection algorithm limits its application. Since the back-projection algorithm has a high degree of data parallelism, it is very suitable for GPU parallel processing. The data scale and hardware environment in different application scenarios will result in different bottlenecks which may prevent the back-projection algorithm from performing optimally. Thus, this paper proposes a series of strategies to aid the back-projection algorithm in achieving the best peak performance with any given problem scale on any given platform. A heuristic block strategy is proposed to optimize the peak performance of the back-projection algorithm on servers and miniaturized GPU devices, which can handle the differences in hardware platforms as well as the differences in data scales. To optimize the peak performance of the back-projection algorithm on miniaturized GPU devices, a memory management strategy is proposed by using unified memory and pinned host memory. The method proposed in this paper has achieved an acceleration ratio close to the device's peak performance on servers and miniaturized GPU devices. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) tools play a significant role in the recent evolution of smart systems. AI solutions are pushing towards a significant shift in many fields such as healthcare, autonomous airplanes and vehicles, security, marketing customer profiling and other diverse areas. One of the main challenges hindering the AI potential is the demand for high-performance computation resources. Recently, hardware accelerators are developed in order to provide the needed computational power for the AI and ML tools. In the literature, hardware accelerators are built using FPGAs, GPUs and ASICs to accelerate computationally intensive tasks. These accelerators provide high-performance hardware while preserving the required accuracy. In this work, we present a systematic literature review that focuses on exploring the available hardware accelerators for the AI and ML tools. The performance growth in processors has been continuing toward increasing the number of processing cores on the chip and scaling the feature size of transistors. However, in the nanoera, side effects of the scaling, such as induced heterogeneities in the performance, power, and soft error rate of identically designed cores, prevent the potential performance from being fully utilized. In this paper, we harness the mentioned side effects in shared-memory multicore processors with unknown workloads by a dynamic heuristic scheduling algorithm called HDSAP. HDSAP aims to maximize performance, i.e., the average response time, under power and reliability constraints in presence of induced heterogeneities. In this regard, we use a mathematical model to quantify task to core assignments based on performance variation. We also consider the variation in power to change selected cores when the power constraint is missed. To meet the reliability constraint, we use N-modular redundancy while being aware of the variation in the soft error rate of cores to prevent under/over reliability estimation. To evaluate HDSAP, we run SPLASH benchmark suite on Sniper and MACPat simulators. Aiming at the problems of low data quality and high incentive costs caused by the low enthusiasm of participants in mobile crowd sensing, a new task recommendation framework is proposed in this paper. First, the participants' historical behaviors are analyzed, assuming that user behaviors can be quantified as the user's willingness to participate, and the cosine similarity theorem is used to calculate the similarity between participants, thereby constructing a user-hybrid model. Secondly, probabilistic matrix factorization is developed to predict the willingness of participants, and a ranking model is obtained through learn-to-rank algorithm. Finally, a task recommendation list is generated according to the ranking model, which serves as the target participant's preferred task list for sensing task recommendation. The experiment in this paper is carried out on the MATLAB platform based on two real check-in datasets, Gowalla and Brightkite. The results show that the average allocation precision rate can reach 96%, and the sensing user participation rate is about 97%. A recognition model named the SVM-NP is proposed in this paper to address the multi-attribute overlap in radar working recognition. The model is based on the K-NN boundary preselection algorithm and SVM-BP algorithm. Traditional classifiers tend to neglect the overlap of samples' attributes in classification, which leads to the low accuracy of classifiers. The K-NN boundary preselection can quickly select boundary samples from the total ones and reduce the whole samples' attribute overlap. The SVM-BP algorithm is improved based on the SVM-RFE algorithm, and the boundary samples with high attribute overlap are divided into many planes for training and testing. Compared with traditional methods, the overlap of sample attributes can be reduced twice in this model. The distributed alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) is an effective algorithm for solving large-scale optimization problems. However, its high communication cost limits its scalability. An asynchronous lazy ADMM algorithm based on hierarchical sparse allreduce communication mode (HSAC-ALADMM) is proposed to reduce the communication cost of the distributed ADMM: firstly, this paper proposes a lazily aggregate parameters strategy to filter the transmission parameters of the distributed ADMM, which reduces the payload of the node per iteration. Secondly, a hierarchical sparse allreduce communication mode is tailored for sparse data to aggregate the filtered transmission parameters effectively. Finally, a Calculator-Communicator-Manager framework is designed to implement the proposed algorithm, which combines the asynchronous communication protocol and the allreduce communication mode effectively. It separates the calculation and communication by multithreading, thus improving the efficiency of system calculation and communication. Experimental results for the L1-regularized logistic regression problem with public datasets show that the HSAC-ALADMM algorithm is faster than existing asynchronous ADMM algorithms. Compared with existing sparse allreduce algorithms, the hierarchical sparse allreduce algorithm proposed in this paper makes better use of the characteristics of sparse data to reduce system time in multi-core cluster. With the rapid development of network technology, the Internet has brought significant convenience to various sectors of society, holding a prominent position. Due to the unpredictable and severe consequences resulting from malicious attacks, the detection of anomalous network traffic has garnered considerable attention from researchers over the past few decades. Accurately labeling a sufficient amount of network traffic data as a training dataset within a short period of time is a challenging task, given the rapid and massive generation of network traffic data. Furthermore, the proportion of malicious attack traffic is relatively small compared to the overall traffic data, and the distribution of traffic data across different types of malicious attacks also varies significantly. To address the aforementioned challenges, this paper presents a novel network anomaly detection algorithm based on semi-supervised learning and adaptive multiclass balancing. Building upon the assumption of consistent distribution between labeled and unlabeled data, this paper introduces the multiclass split balancing strategy and the adaptive confidence threshold function. These innovative approaches aim to tackle the issue of the multiclass imbalanced in traffic data. By leveraging the mutually beneficial relationship between semi-supervised learning and ensemble learning, this paper presents the collaborative rotation forest algorithm. This algorithm is specifically designed to enhance performance of anomaly detection in an environment with label inadequacy. Several comparative experiments conducted on the NSL-KDD, UNSW-NB15, and ToN-IoT demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves significant improvements in performance. We present a keyphrase extraction algorithm named TopicLPRank in this paper, which is an improved TopicRank algorithm. Different from the TopicRank which only uses the relative distance information of the text, we think that the length and absolute position of the text candidate keyphrases also have a certain influence on the results of the model for extraction keyphrases. Therefore, the proposed TopicLPRank incorporates these two factors on the basis of the TopicRank. The experimental results show that adding the location information and length information of candidate keyphrases can, respectively, increase the F-Score of the model by around 2.7 % points and 1.7 % points, which is equivalent to an increase of 19.6 and 12.3 % compared with the TopicRank. At the same time, the fusion of the length and location information of the candidate keyphrase can increase the F-Score by around 3.5 percentage points, which is equivalent to an increase of 25.21 % compared with the TopicRank in the dataset NUS. The marine predators algorithm (MPA) is a metaheuristic algorithm for solving optimization problems. MPA divides the whole optimization process into three phases evenly, and each phase corresponds to a different search agent update strategy. Such a setup makes MPA inflexible when facing different optimization problems, which affects the optimization performance. In this paper, we propose a novel modified MPA hybridizing by Q-learning (QMPA), which applies reinforcement learning to the selection of update strategy, and selects the most appropriate position update strategy for search agents in different iteration stages and states. It can effectively compensate for the deficiency of MPA's adaptive ability when facing different optimization problems. The performance of QMPA is tested on classical benchmark functions, the CEC2014 test suite, and engineering problems. In the classical benchmark functions test, QMPA is compared with MPA in 10, 30, and 50 dimensions. QMPA performs better than MPA for seven of the ten functions when the dimension is 10 and 30. The results of dimension 50 show that QMPA outperforms MPA in 5 functions and is close to it in 4 functions. Then, comparing QMPA with algorithms such as grey wolf optimizer, particle swarm optimization, slime mould algorithm, sine cosine algorithm, reptile search algorithm, and aquila optimizer, the results show that QMPA has the best performance on 22 of the total 30 functions in the CEC2014 test suite. Finally, QMPA is tested on two commonly used real-world engineering problems and gives the most optimal results. A wait-free consensus technique is provided with endless processes utilizing a shared memory model. When a powerful adversary is allowed to view and destroy infinite number of votes, the approach weighted voting can be used to reach consensus with at least constant probability. In asynchronous system, there is no known upper bound to transmit the message from source to destination processor. This paper presents a resilient and message-efficient algorithm by aggregating the votes of individual processors to solve the wait-free consensus in asynchronous systems. We considered an adaptive adversary and message-passing communication system. Our aim is to construct a message-passing algorithm equivalent to a weak shared coin and to provide a message-efficient algorithm for aggregating the votes of individual processors. A processor announces votes to smaller groups before propagating them to larger ones. To limit generated, received, or sent, vote weights are gradually increased. The wait-free consensus problem is optimally solved by our algorithm, which demonstrates an effective message-passing execution of the shared coin. When less than n/2 processes are faulty or crashed, the predicted message complexity of this randomized consensus procedure is O (n2 (log log n)2). The growing data have brought tremendous pressure for query processing and storage, so there are many studies that focus on using GPU to accelerate join operation, which is one of the most important operations in modern database systems. However, existing GPU acceleration join operation researches are not very suitable for the join operation on big data. Based on this, this paper speeds up nested loop join, hash join and theta join, combining Hadoop with GPU, which is also the first to use GPU to accelerate theta join. At the same time, after the data pre-filtering and pre-processing, using MapReduce and HDFS in Hadoop proposed in this paper, the larger data table can be handled, compared to existing GPU acceleration methods. Also with MapReduce in Hadoop, the algorithm proposed in this paper can estimate the number of results more accurately and allocate the appropriate storage space without unnecessary costs, making it more efficient. Experimental results show that comparing with GPU-based approach without Hadoop, our approach increases the speed by 1.5–2 times, and comparing with the Hadoop-based approaches without GPU, our approach increases the speed by 1.3–2 times. How to improve resource utilization of cloud data centers (CDCs) and ensure users' quality of service (QoS) through efficient virtual machine (VM) scheduling is an urgent problem. Especially when service reliability is taken into consideration, the problem becomes more challenging. However, existing related researches mostly ignore the influence of reliability factors, such as failures and recoveries of computing nodes (CNs), which cannot reflect the realistic situations of real-life CDCs. Therefore, this paper investigates the problem of fault tolerance-aware VM scheduling and formulates it as a multi-objective optimization model with multiple QoS constraints. The proposed model tries to minimize users' total expenditure and, at the same time, maximize the successful execution rate of their businesses. To solve the proposed optimization model, a greedy-based best fit decreasing (GBFD) algorithm is then developed. The GBFD algorithm adopts a cost efficiency factor whose definition is according to the characteristics of CNs, to select a suitable CN for each VM request. Finally, extensive experiments are conducted to verify the feasibility of the proposed models and algorithm based on both the real-world CDC cluster data sets and the simulation ones. The results show that, first, as expected, fault tolerance significantly influences the performance criteria of VM scheduling and second, in most cases, the developed algorithm can decrease users' expenditure, increase success rate for executing their business and improve their overall satisfactions. Specifically, under real-world CDC cluster scenario, GBFD algorithm can increase the overall satisfaction of all cloud users by 38.3%, 20.9% and 14.6%, respectively, compared with the other three ones. With the development of cloud computing, a growing number of workflows are deployed on cloud platform that can dynamically provides cloud resources on demand for users. In clouds, one basic problem is how to schedule workflow for minimizing the execution cost and the workflow completion time. Aiming at the problem that the maximum completion time and cost of multiple workflows are too high, this paper proposes a model of dynamic multi-workflow scheduling in cloud environment and a new scheduling algorithm which is named as MT (multi-workflow scheduling technology). In MT, the heterogeneity of resources is considered when calculating the priority of tasks. Then, the technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) method is used to rank the resources when selecting resources for tasks. Finally, MT takes the estimated minimum completion time of the workflow and the cost of the task as two attribute indexes in TOPSIS decision matrix. Also, it uses a fixed reference point instead of calculating ideal solution, which ensures the uniqueness of the evaluation criteria when there is a change in the number of resources. Simulation experiments are illustrated to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in reducing the maximum completion time and cost of multiple workflows. Demeanor evidence refers to the authoritative opinions of experts using analytical instruments to collect and interpret the formation of external physiological symptoms of the entire human body. With the development of modern technology, the observation of demeanor has entered a new stage of multimodal quantification. The quantifiable results of demeanor observation with the help of scientific and technological instruments play an important role in judicial work such as search, interrogation, and evidence review. The use of man-made reasoning in the field of legal settling has become increasingly broad. Specialists are giving increasingly more consideration to the securing of modular proof. This paper proposes the development of a component examination model for modular proof examination applications. The technique for this paper is to apply the guileless Bayes strategy, propose a superior information mining calculation, and lay out a model for proof observation and examination. The function of these methods is to systematically explore the basic theoretical issues of demeanor evidence based on the status quo of judicial application of demeanor evidence. Through the prediction of individual demeanor based on data mining algorithm, the evidence analysis model is designed, the neurobiological experiment is carried out, and the demeanor evidence animal stress model is constructed to verify the scientific basis of multidemeanor evidence observation. The experimental results showed that after repeated stimulation of SD rats, the maximum changes in the expression of HSP70 gene and SAA gene were 10.77 and 14.1 respectively, reflecting the high reliability of demeanor evidence biological experiments. The model can improve the accuracy of evidence use, and the correct use of demeanor evidence can realize the true litigation value of intelligent justice and the concept of human rights protection, and promote the construction of intelligent justice. Floorplanning is a crucial part of very large-scale integration (VLSI) physical design flow. It primarily determines the position of the blocks on a chip by considering the area, the total wirelength, etc., in light of several real-world limitations such as delay, price, and chip performance. Adopting B*-tree representation, this paper proposes a novel dual-population adaptive hybrid memetic algorithm called DPAHMA to handle the VLSI floorplanning problem effectively by optimizing the chip area and the total wirelength. Three main ideas are presented in this paper, including new definitions of crossover and mutation operators based on B*-tree encoding that overcome the shortcomings of the existing method, such as overly complicated operations on binary trees and a lack of diversity; a dynamic self-adjusting objective function, namely WeightDS, which is able to find solutions more suitable for the user-specified weight; and a main-auxiliary population mechanism by which a candidate population is introduced to assist the normal population in the global search phase. To make full use of the information obtained by the local search method, the candidate population keeps its high-quality solutions. The individuals from the candidate population crossover with the individuals from the normal population before the end of each iteration to obtain higher-quality solutions as much as possible. Experimental results for MCNC and GSRC benchmarks show that DPAHMA obtains floorplans effectively with better area and total wirelength than those of the state-of-the-art floorplanners. The quad-cube is a special case of the metacube that itself is derivable from the hypercube. It is amenable to an application as a network topology, especially when the node size exceeds several million. This paper presents the following welcome properties of the graph, relating to its structure: (1) vertex transitivity that facilitates the working of an algorithm meant for a "local" context in the global context as well, and (2) an exact formula for the distance metric, which leads to a precise result on the distance-wise vertex distribution of the graph and an exact formula for the average vertex distance. Remarkably, the vertex distribution of the quad-cube resembles, to a large extent, the vertex distribution of the twin copies of a hypercube. This paper proposes a parallel computing analysis model HPM and analyzes the parallel architecture of CPU–GPU based on this model. On this basis, we study the parallel optimization of the ray-tracing algorithm on the CPU–GPU parallel architecture and give full play to the parallelism between nodes, the parallelism of the multi-core CPU inside the node, and the parallelism of the GPU, which improve the calculation speed of the ray-tracing algorithm. This paper uses the space division technology to divide the ground data, constructs the KD-tree organization structure, and improves the construction method of KD-tree to reduce the time complexity of the algorithm. The ground data is evenly distributed to each computing node, and the computing nodes use a combination of CPU–GPU for parallel optimization. The load balancing algorithm of web server cluster in network education system is studied in this paper, and a new strategy based on server status and request information is proposed to reduce the response time. The mechanism of the algorithm is to classify the degree of influence of the client's request content on the server, and set the corresponding weight. At the same time, it combines the server performance parameters and load conditions to allocate the request to the lightest load of the server. The overall framework structure of the hierarchy is proposed according to the MOOC education system, and the internal communication mechanism of the system and the monitoring program of the web server performance are studied in this paper. Experimental results show that the algorithm can fully utilize the existing software and hardware resources, effectively balance the load of the web cluster server, and fully utilize the service resources. Large-scale numerical optimization problems arise from many fields and have applications in both industrial and academic contexts. Finding solutions to such optimization problems efficiently requires algorithms that are able to leverage the increasing parallelism available in modern computing hardware. In this paper, we review previous work on parallelizing algorithms for nonlinear optimization. To introduce the topic, the paper starts by giving an accessible introduction to nonlinear optimization and high-performance computing. This is followed by a survey of previous work on parallelization and utilization of high-performance computing hardware for nonlinear optimization algorithms. Finally, we present a number of optimization software libraries and how they are able to utilize parallel computing today. This study can serve as an introduction point for researchers interested in nonlinear optimization or high-performance computing, as well as provide ideas and inspiration for future work combining these topics. High-dimensional imbalanced biomedical data has dual characteristics of high-dimensional and imbalanced distribution. It is important to improve classification accuracy by filtering out low-dimensional feature subsets that are highly correlated with the classification target and have minimal mutual redundancy. However, traditional feature selection algorithms tend to select the feature subset that is favorable to class with large sample size, resulting in poor classification performance for minority samples. In response to the above problems, the P-AdaBoost-PAUC algorithm is proposed to be applied to high-dimensional imbalanced biomedical data classification. The idea of P-AdaBoost-PAUC algorithm has two major contributions. The first is that an improved decision tree attribute optimization algorithm (DT-P) is proposed, which pays more attention to the correlation among attributes. The second is that an improved AdaBoost algorithm based on probabilistic AUC (AdaBoost-PAUC) is proposed, which comprehensively considers misclassification probability and AUC to pay more attention to minority samples. An ensemble algorithm for high-dimensional imbalanced biomedical data classification is formed, which is conducive to improve classification performance. Experimental results show that Recall, Specificity, F1, and AUC values of P-AdaBoost-PAUC ensemble algorithm have reached the highest values on datasets with different imbalance rate. Especially when the proportion of minority samples is only 12.6 % , Recall, Specificity, F1 and AUC values all reached above 0.95. And algorithm stability experiments show that P-AdaBoost-PAUC algorithm is more stable than other algorithms. Therefore, the P-AdaBoost-PAUC ensemble algorithm proposed in this paper improves classification performance of minority samples on high-dimensional imbalanced biomedical data to a certain extent. Application with a set of dependent distributed tasks is generally regarded as a direct acyclic graph or an out-tree. Tree-shaped task graphs are widely applied in a variety of computational domains, including electronic structure computations and sparse matrix factorization. Efficient algorithms for tree-shaped task partition and allocation can dominate the performance of heterogeneous computing systems, as most relevant publications have pointed out. This paper presents efficient algorithms for partitioning and allocating tree-shaped tasks on heterogeneous multiprocessor systems with limited memory to improve task-parallel computing. The proposed main algorithm consists of two stages: partition and allocation. During partition, an algorithm is provided for partitioning a task tree into multiple subtrees. It iteratively partitions the subtrees on the critical path of the quotient tree. During allocation, two algorithms are proposed for task allocation to minimize the task tree's execution time. One is to preferentially allocate the largest subtree of the whole tree, and the other is to preferentially allocate the subtree located on the quotient tree's critical path. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithms significantly improve the latest works in terms of average makespan, both on randomly generated trees and on a real-world dataset. On a real-world dataset, the average makespan of existing work is approximately 6.28 × 10 8 . However, it is approximately 2.13 × 10 8 for our proposed algorithm. The attribute-based encryption (ABE) scheme is suitable for access control of ciphertext in cloud computing. Kowalczyk and Wee proposed an adaptively secure attribute-based encryption scheme that supports NC 1 circuits. However, the ciphertext length increases rapidly with the depth of the circuit, resulting in an increase of the computational complexity of the encryption and decryption algorithms. In this paper, to overcome this challenge, a ciphertext-policy ABE scheme that supports circuits with fan-in n is proposed. First, we design new pebble rules for secret sharing in circuits with fan-in n, improving the compactness of the security reduction. Then, the new secret sharing scheme is embedded in the encryption algorithm, which is the key to improving efficiency. Moreover, we prove the adaptive security of the scheme by using a piecewise guessing framework and dual-system encryption. Finally, by comparison analysis, this scheme exhibits a better performance. The intrinsic high parallelism and entanglement characteristics of quantum computing have made quantum image processing techniques a focus of great interest. One of the most widely used techniques in image processing is segmentation, which in one of their most basic forms can be carried out using thresholding algorithms. In this paper, a fault-tolerant quantum dual-threshold algorithm has been proposed. This algorithm has been built using only Clifford+T gates for compatibility with error detection and correction codes. Because fault-tolerant implementation of T gates has a much higher cost than other quantum gates, our focus has been on reducing the number of these gates. This has allowed adding noise tolerance, computational cost reduction, and fault tolerance to the state-of-the-art dual-threshold segmentation circuits. Since the dual-threshold image segmentation involves the comparison operation, as part of this work we have implemented two full comparator circuits. In a cryptosystem, a cipher's security is directly dependent on a key-schedule or key-scheduling algorithm (KSA) or that is used for both encryption and decryption. The random-number-based KSA adds another layer of security and prevents hackers from performing cryptanalysis. Several previous studies have investigated the strength of a cipher's encryption process. The strength evaluation of the key-scheduling process has received less attention that can lead to weaknesses in the overall encryption process. This paper proposes a new framework consisting of cryptographic strength evaluation criteria for random number generators (RNG)-based KSAs. Our framework (CryptoQNRG) evaluates different key-schedules based on pseudorandom and quantum random number generators with a set of tests. There are test suites that compare the strength of KSAs for different block ciphers. To the best of our knowledge this is the first time that a framework is built to compare the strength of KSAs incorporating RNGs and various block ciphers. CryptoQNRG comprises of four tests: Frequency, Bit_Correlation, Bit_Interfold, and Bit_Entropy. The tests are used to explore cryptographic properties such as unpredictability, balance of bits, correlation, confusion, and diffusion in the subkeys generated by the RNG-based KSA. We have evaluated the most common KSAs with different block ciphers and a significant outcome of the proposed framework is the distinction between strong and weak RNG-based KSAs. With the development of current computing technology, workflow applications have become more important in a variety of fields, including research, education, health care, and scientific experimentation. A group of tasks with complicated dependency relationships constitute the workflow applications. It can be difficult to create an acceptable execution sequence while maintaining precedence constraints. Workflow scheduling algorithms (WSA) are gaining more attention from researchers as a real-time concern. Even though a variety of research perspectives have been demonstrated for WSAs, it remains challenging to develop a single coherent algorithm that simultaneously meets a variety of criteria. There is very less research available on WSA in the heterogeneous computing system. Classical scheduling techniques, evolutionary optimisation algorithms, and other methodologies are the available solution to this problem. The workflow scheduling problem is regarded as NP-complete. This problem is constrained by various factors, such as Quality of Service, interdependence between tasks, and user deadlines. In this paper, an efficient meta-heuristic approach named Multi-objective Artificial Algae (MAA) algorithm is presented for scheduling scientific workflows in a hierarchical fog-cloud environment. In the first phase, the algorithm pre-processes scientific workflow and prepares two task lists. In order to speed up execution, bottleneck tasks are executed with high priority. The MAA algorithm is used to schedule tasks in the following stage to reduce execution times, energy consumption and overall costs. In order to effectively use fog resources, the algorithm also utilises the weighted sum-based multi-objective function. The proposed approach is evaluated using five benchmark scientific workflow datasets. To verify the performance, the proposed algorithm's results are compared to those of conventional and specialised WSAs. In comparison to previous methodologies, the average results demonstrate significant improvements of about 43% in execution time, 28% in energy consumption and 10% in total cost without any trade-offs. The results of a parallel implementation of a randomized vector algorithm for solving systems of linear equations are presented in the paper. The solution is represented in the form of a Neumann series. The stochastic method computes this series by sampling only random columns, avoiding multiplication of matrix by matrix and matrix by vector. We consider the case when the matrix is too large to fit in random-access memory (RAM). We use two approaches to solve this problem. In the first approach, the matrix is divided into parts that are distributed among MPI processes and stored in the available RAM of the cluster nodes. In the second approach, the entire matrix is stored on each node's hard drive, loaded into RAM, and processed in parts. Independent Monte Carlo experiments for random column indices are distributed among MPI processes or OpenMP threads for both approaches to matrix storage. With the development of cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes becomes the standard of fact for container scheduling. Kubernetes provides service discovery and scheduling of containers, load balancing, service self-healing, elastic scaling, storage volumes, etc. Although Kubernetes is mature with advanced features, it does not consider reducing the cost in Kubernetes clouds using the factor of communication frequent between pods while scheduling pods, nor does it have a rescheduling mechanism to save cost. Hence, we propose a cost-efficient scheduling algorithm and a rescheduling algorithm to reduce the cost of communication-intensive and periodically changing web applications deployed in Kubernetes, respectively. Network communication-intensive pods are scheduled to the same node by the scheduling algorithm based on Improved Beetle Antennae Search. According to the changing pod intimacy relationship, the rescheduling algorithm is completed through the replacement of new and old pods to reduce the cost. In addition, this paper evaluates the proposed algorithms in terms of cost and performance on a Kubernetes cloud. Fault diagnosis of interconnection networks is vital to ensuring the reliability and maintenance of multiprocessor systems. Based on graph theory, diagnostic algorithms for solving the problem of fault diagnosis in interconnection networks have been widely studied. As the number of processors in multiprocessor systems has increased in recent years, fault diagnosis algorithms based on graph theory cannot meet the current diagnosis requirements of some interconnection networks, such as t-diagnosable systems. In this paper, we use the evolution diagnosis approach to study fault diagnosis in t-diagnosable systems under the PMC model. First, for a t-diagnosable system G with a syndrome σ , we use a simple centralized algorithm to generate its simplified diagnosis graph G f , which contains all the faulty nodes in G. Based on the graph, we prove that the faulty node set in G is the minimum cover set of G f . Next, we prove that the problem of computing the minimum cover set for G f is equivalent to the problem of computing the optimal solution of a zero-one integer program. Using this result, we propose a novel genetic algorithm to solve the problem of the zero-one integer program. The simulation results show that the diagnostic accuracy of our proposed algorithm is equal to or greater than 96% and that the proposed algorithm outperforms its competitors in terms of diagnostic accuracy, number of iterations and running time. The two-dimension strip packing problem (2DSPP) is an NP-hard combinatorial optimization problem, and it has a wide range of applications. The order in which the rectangles are placed in the strip is the key to solving the 2DSPP. In this paper, the corner increment multi-level scoring strategy and the two-step selection strategy are proposed to make the selection of rectangles more reasonable. The hierarchical construction strategy is used to improve the constructive heuristic algorithm to expand the search space of the rectangle selection. Based on this, this paper proposes a multi-strategy rectangle selection algorithm TSMSA for solving 2DSPP. Comparing experiments with 7 excellent algorithms for solving 2DSPP on 737 instances of the benchmark dataset shows that the instance number of the optimal solution obtained by TSMSA is 1.05~2.9 times that of the other 7 algorithms. The maximum internal spanning tree (MIST) problem is to find a spanning tree with maximum number of internal node for an undirected graph. It is a variation of the well-known minimum spanning tree problem and is NP-hard. Evolutionary algorithms (EAs) have been successfully applied to solve many NP-hard combinatorial optimization problems in numerical empirical studies. However, researchers know little about their performance guarantees from theory aspect. This paper designs a valid fitness function to guide the well-studied evolutionary algorithm, (1 + 1) EA , to optimize the MIST problem, and presents theoretical analysis to show that it can obtain a performance guarantee of 2 and 5/3 in expected runtime O (n m 2) and O (n m 4) , respectively. Moreover, this paper proves that the (1+1) EA can achieve a performance guarantee of 3 for a variation of the MIST problem, where each vertex is associated with a weight. In addition, comparison analyses on two family instance graphs are presented to show that (1 + 1) EA is better than two local search algorithms. Multiple tasks arrive in the distributed systems that can be executed in either parallel or sequential manner. According to the complexity of ocean data, this paper adopts a parallel mining algorithm of association rules to explore the correlation and regularity of oxygen, temperature, phosphate, nitrate and silicate in the ocean. After the marine data is interpolated, this paper utilizes the parallel FP-growth algorithm to mine the data and then briefly analyzes the mining results of the frequent itemsets and association rules. The relationship between the parallel efficiency and the core number of CPU is analyzed through datasets with different scales. The experimental results indicate that the acceleration effect is ideal when each thread scored 200,000-300,000 data, which leads to more than 1.2 times of performance improvement. Our goal is to provide a novel method of representing 2D shapes, where each shape will be assigned a unique fingerprint—a computable approximation to the conformal map of the given shape to a canonical shape in 2D or 3D space (see page 22 for a few examples). In this paper, we make the first significant step in this program where we address the case of simply and doubly connected planar domains. We prove uniform convergence of our approximation scheme to the appropriate conformal mapping. To this end, we affirm a conjecture raised by Ken Stephenson in the 1990s which predicts that the Riemann mapping can be approximated by a sequence of electrical networks. In fact, we first treat a more general case. Consider a planar annulus, i.e., a bounded, 2-connected, Jordan domain, endowed with a sequence of triangulations exhausting it. We construct a corresponding sequence of maps which converge uniformly on compact subsets of the domain, to a conformal homeomorphism onto the interior of a Euclidean annulus bounded by two concentric circles. The resolution of Stephenson’s conjecture then follows by a limiting argument. Effective resource allocation is a crucial aspect in improving the performance of visible light communication (VLC)/hybrid WiFi networks. This study presents a dynamic resource allocation algorithm for multiuser scenarios. A fuzzy logic technique is employed to select the network resources with higher scores for communication. In this sense, to ensure fairness in the hybrid VLC-WiFi network, an enhanced proportional fairness (PF) algorithm is utilized. The algorithm considers the access delay and the distance to the access point as users move, striking a reasonable balance between fair allocation of user resources and maximizing system resource utilization. Therefore, to enhance the user experience in real-time scheduling, a compensation factor is introduced to compensate users with higher latency, increasing their priority. A thorough analysis is provided for the throughput, latency, utility value, and fairness models of the VLC-WiFi heterogeneous network system. The algorithm proposed in this paper is simulated and compared with four traditional algorithms, namely the Round-Robin algorithm, maximum carrier to interference ratio (Max C/I) algorithm, modified largest weighted delay first algorithm, and PF algorithm, under different metrics. Simulation results show that the proposed method is effective, and the improved algorithm yields better fairness and higher throughput compared to the conventional algorithm. As the number of frames increases, the fairness index of the proposed algorithm increases the fastest and gradually converges to 1. The throughput of this method is significantly greater than that of previous algorithms, reaching a stable rate of roughly 1.3 Mbps. The suggested algorithm is approximately 150% higher than the throughput achieved by conventional PF algorithms. The algorithm improves user satisfaction in different regions, and the utility value remains around 0.975. The packet loss rate is approximately 75% lower than traditional typical algorithms, and the average latency is approximately 60% lower. Arithmetic optimization algorithm (AOA) is a meta-heuristic optimization method based on mathematical operators proposed in recent years. Although it has good performance, it can also lead to insufficient local search ability and falling into local optima when solving complex optimization problems. In order to make up for the above shortcomings, the optimization performance of AOA is further improved. This paper proposes a hybrid algorithm based on AOA and particle swarm optimization (PSO) called HAOAPSO. Firstly, a compound opposition-based learning (COBL) strategy is introduced to broaden the scope of finding optimal solutions to help the algorithm better jump out of local optima. Secondly, PSO is combined with AOA that integrates COBL to improve the algorithm's local search ability, so as to improve the overall search efficiency of the algorithm. In addition, experiments are performed on 23 classical benchmark functions with different characteristics and five engineering design optimization problems, and the experimental results of HAOAPSO are compared with those of other well-known optimization algorithms to comprehensively evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm. This paper presents a massively parallel approach of the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (PMLFMA) on homegrown many-core SW26010 cluster of China, noted as (SW-PMLFMA), for 3-D electromagnetic scattering problems. In this approach, the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA) octree is first partitioned among management processing elements (MPEs) of SW26010 processors following the ternary partitioning scheme using the message passing interface (MPI). Then, the computationally intensive parts of the PMLFMA on each MPI process, matrix filling, aggregation and disaggregation are accelerated by using all the 64 computing processing elements (CPEs) in the same core group of the MPE via the Athread parallel programming model. Different parallelization strategies are designed for many-core accelerators to ensure a high computational throughput. In coincidence with the special characteristic of local Lagrange interpolation, the compressed sparse row (CSR) and the compressed sparse column (CSC) sparse matrix storage format is used for storing interpolation and anterpolation matrices, respectively, together with a specially designed cache mechanism of hybrid dynamic and static buffers using the scratchpad memory (SPM) to improve data access efficiency. The utilization of cloud computing environments is highly popular for carrying out workflow executions due to its ability to provide clients with immediate access to computing resources. Among the various workflow scheduling problems in the cloud, deadline-constrained workflow scheduling has garnered increasing attention in recent years. This paper introduces a hybrid scheduling algorithm known as Partial Critical Path–Ant Colony Optimization (PCP–ACO), which aims to minimize the execution cost of a workflow while ensuring that it meets the user-defined deadline in cloud environments. PCP–ACO is a list scheduling algorithm that combines the PCP heuristic algorithm with the meta-heuristic ACO to achieve faster convergence. The list scheduling algorithm consists of two phases: task ordering and resource selection. In the case of PCP–ACO, the first step involves calculating a topological sort of the workflow tasks to assign priority to each task. Subsequently, the ACO meta-heuristic is employed to allocate the appropriate resource to each task of the workflow, based on their respective sub-deadlines that are computed using the PCP heuristic. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, several experiments were conducted using five real scientific workflows. The results demonstrate that PCP–ACO outperforms the IC-PCP, L-ACO, and HP-GA algorithms in terms of average execution cost, achieving reductions of 19%, 17.3%, and 21.5%, respectively. Density peaks clustering (DPC) algorithm has been widely applied in many fields due to its innovation and efficiency. However, the original DPC algorithm and many of its variants choose Euclidean distance as local density and relative distance estimations, which affects the clustering performance on some specific shaped datasets, such as manifold datasets. To address the above-mentioned issue, we propose a density peak clustering algorithm with connected local density and punished relative distance (DPC–CLD–PRD). Specifically, the proposed approach computes the distance matrix between data pairs using the flexible connectivity distance metric. Then, it calculates the connected local density of each data point via combining the flexible connectivity distance measure and k-nearest neighbor method. Finally, the punished relative distance of each data point is obtained by introducing a connectivity estimation strategy into the distance optimization process. Identifying the location of the sensor nodes is a challenging aspect of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) in a distributed environment. It is vital to understand where data and events come from when sensor nodes collect data and report on them. This paper uses a nature-inspired Jaya algorithm to estimate the location coordinates of target nodes in a distributed architecture of WSNs. The Jaya algorithm handles the nonlinear optimization problem of node localization in a randomly distributed sensor node configuration. The range-based, Received Signal Strength Indicator method is used for the distance estimation. MATLAB software is used to assess the proposed work, and a comparison is made with the Particle Swarm Optimization, Krill Herd Optimization, and Salp Swarm Algorithm based node localization algorithms in terms of localization error and computation time. Tridiagonal system solver is a basic kernel and has been well-supported in mainstream numerical libraries. The purpose of this paper is to devise an efficient parallel algorithm to solve a large-scale tridiagonal system. Based on the performance analysis of the classic Thomas algorithm and matrix splitting method, we propose a parallel Thomas split (PTS) algorithm. Compared with the matrix splitting method, the PTS algorithm can achieve an acceleration of 10.34 × . Furthermore, we propose a Sunway parallel Thomas split (swPTS) algorithm based on the sw26010pro manycore processor. In the swPTS algorithm, we propose a specific data partitioning scheme to implement MPI+Athread parallelism. In the reduced set of equations, a new reduction approach for the Sunway architecture is proposed. Experiments show that the parallel elimination stage of our swPTS algorithm achieves up to 38.31 × speedup over a PTS algorithm, and overall reaches 5.74 × speedup over a Thomas algorithm. Three-dimensional object reconstruction from multi-view images is an important topic in computer vision, which has attracted enormous attention during the past decades. With the further study in deep learning, remarkable progress of three-dimensional object reconstruct has been obtained in recent years. In this paper, we proposed three-dimensional rapid registration and reconstruction of multi-view rigid objects based on end-to-end deep surface model in the field of three-dimensional object reconstruction. Firstly, we introduce a matching algorithm called local stereo matching algorithm based on improved census transform and multi-scale spatial, aiming to improve the matching results for those regions. In cost aggregation step, guided map filtering algorithm with excellent gradient preserving property is introduced into Gaussian pyramid structure and regularization is added to strengthen cost volume consistency. Secondly, the improved inception RESNET module is added to improve the feature extraction ability of the network, and multiple features are extracted by using multiple network structures, and finally multiple features are sequentially input into the VRNN module to enhance the reconstruction effect of multi-view images. The resources in the edge cloud are numerous and complex, and elastic scaling services can make efficient use of these resources. However, the elastic scaling services need to suspend the user's application tasks forcibly when carrying out resource redistribution, which brings a poor sense of experience to the user. In view of the above problems, a dynamic elastic scaling model based on load prediction is proposed, which improves resource utilization and reduces scaling costs without affecting user experience. The model is divided into two parts. In terms of load prediction, on the one hand, according to the historical features and current trends of the load, the load prediction model based on the improved cloud model is used to predict the load demand at the next moment. On the other hand, the correlation between CPU and memory is considered. In terms of elastic scaling, integer programming algorithm is proposed to expand and release the corresponding resources with the minimum cost of horizontal scaling (HS) and vertical scaling (VS). In order to verify the superiority of elastic scaling model based on load prediction, corresponding comparative experiments are conducted, which show that the proposed model can improve the accuracy of load prediction and resource utilization with low scaling costs. Especially, the cost of elastic scaling proposed by this paper is lower than horizontal and vertical scaling. A recently emerged microgrid system presents the concept of a prosumer that consumers can also become suppliers, instead of a one-way configuration with separate providers and consumers. The microgrid system allows users to produce electricity, sell it on demand, and purchase them from other users. Unlike conventional centralized power trading, this emerging system aims on providing decentralized, transparent, and secure power trading. In this paper, we introduce a transparent and safe power trading algorithm between users using blockchain. The proposed algorithm has been implemented with an executable distributed code (i.e., smart contract) in an Ethereum blockchain platform. There are a large number of imbalanced classification problems in the real world. Due to the imbalance in the amount of data and the complex nature of the distribution, the minority class samples are difficult to be classified correctly. Oversampling techniques balance the data set by generating minority class samples; however, current clustering-based oversampling techniques are limited by hyperparameters, sample selection, and other issues that affect the final classification performance. In this paper, we propose an oversampling algorithm based on natural neighbor and density peaks clustering (ND-S). ND-S is divided into three steps. Firstly, the natural neighbor algorithm is used to find and filter noises and outliers. Secondly, the density peaks clustering is improved by natural neighbor-based nonparametric adaptive, which clusters all samples and leaves the clusters that meet the conditions. Finally, sampling weights are assigned to each cluster, and the minority class of samples suitable for oversampling is selected for synthetic minority oversampling (SMOTE) by calculating the local sparsity of the samples. Experiments on 18 imbalanced data sets show that ND-S is effective for the imbalanced classification problem, and its classification performance is generally better than other 8 comparison algorithms. The Maximum Clique Problem (MCP) is a classic NP-hard problem, which has the goal of finding the largest possible clique. It is known to have direct applications in a wide spectrum of fields such as data association problems appearing in bioinformatics and computational biology, computer vision and robotics. Solutions like using brute force, backtracking and branch and bound are designed to deal with the maximum problem. In the branch and bound method, a branch is pruned if the currently found largest clique is better than its upper bound. However, the upper bound obtained by current methods is often not close enough to the ω (G) , leading to large inefficient search space. This paper discusses the branch and bound procedure to solve the maximum clique problem in large and sparse graphs and proposes a new efficient branch and bound maximum clique algorithm named SMC-BRB. SMC-BRB solves the maximum clique problem in heuristic search stage and exact search stage. It simultaneously utilizes the s + -index and color-based upper bound in heuristic search stage, which effectively reduces the number of branches in the exact search stage. This method is beneficial to the solution of MCP because it provides a scale reduction on heuristic search stage. The complexity of searching algorithms in classical computing is a classic problem and a research area. Quantum computers and quantum algorithms can efficiently compute some classically hard problems. In addition, quantum machine learning algorithms could be an important avenue to boost existing and new quantum-based technology, reducing the supercomputing requirements for executing such problems. This paper reviews and explores topics such as variational quantum algorithms, kernel methods, and Grover's algorithm (GA). GA is a quantum search algorithm that achieves a quadratic speed improvement as a quantum classifier. We exploit GA or amplitude amplification to simulate rudimentary classical logical gates into quantum circuits considering AND, XOR, and OR gates. Our experiments in our review suggest that the algorithms discussed can be implemented and verified with relative ease, suggesting that researchers can investigate problems in the areas discussed related to quantum machine learning and more. Through decoupling the data plane from the control planes, the Software Defined Network (SDN) improves the network flexibility and has gained much attention from both academia and industry. In order to apply to Wide Area Network (WAN), the logically centralized and physically distributed multi-controller network architecture is proposed. In this situation, how many controllers are required and where they should be placed is a urgent problem to be solved, which is called the Controller Placement Problem (CPP). This paper discusses the joint optimization of latency and required number of controllers considering revenue cost and network architecture. We propose a Density-based Controller Placement Algorithm (DCPA), which can obtain the optimal number of controllers and then divides the entire network into multiple sub-networks adaptively. In each sub-network, the controllers are deployed with the purpose of minimizing the average propagation latency and the worst-case propagation latency between controllers and switches at the same time. We conduct experiments on 8 real network topologies from the OS3E and Internet Topology Zoo to evaluate the performance of algorithm. The results verify that DCPA can always find out the optimal solution with a low time consumption to reduce latency for different network scales, which reduces latency by up to 46, 11 and 7 when compared with Density-Based Controller Placement (DBCP), Pareto-based Optimal COntroller placement (POCO) and Clustering-based Network Partition Algorithm (CNPA), respectively, and reduce the load of controllers by up to 38, 20 and 13 when compared with DBCP, POCO and CNPA, respectively.
